Low Country Laundry & Dry Cleaners on Rutledge Avenue in Charleston is a reliable source for laundry service when you need it. They make everything very easy when you need to get things done. They offer really good customer service and I have had a really good experience every time that I have used them.
I showed up on short notice and miss Shinika was there, thankfully. She sorted me out and I got my clothes that same day. Awesome service! Thank you.
I tried to get two items dry cleaned on Wednesday. I was told I could get the items back on the following Wednesday. I was so confused.
Sarah is a life saver! I called in only 15 minutes before closing praying that I’d at least be able to drop a suit off to get cleaned and pressed before a job interview schedule the following afternoon. Not only was I able to drop it off, but Sarah (the owner) personally dropped it off to my home the next day with plenty of time to spare. Couldn’t be happier with the service and I hope others give this place a try!
Dropping off and pick up has never been easier! I love the emails outlining what I dropped off, and the email letting me know my clothes are ready. No guessing! Great communication! Added bonus is seeing Nishikas friendly face when I drive up. She sees me coming and starts getting my pick up ready. Thank you for great service, especially during these covid times!
A dry cleaners that is closed on Saturday and Sunday?!
Never had one bad experience in six years and the customer service is top drawer. Really enjoy going in there and always greeted with a friendly smile. If something doesnt come back in good shape they send it back out at no charge.
You are living in the city, with life passing you by, what takes the edge away after those long work weeks? Knowing that Nishika and Veronica are right around the corner! This establishment has excellent customer service, that does quality work. Allow the stress to bead off of your shoulders as you walk through the doors of Lowcountry Laundry.
All of these negative reviews need to be taken with grain of salt. This place has new ownership and is THE place to take care of your laundry needs. Top notch customer service. Highly recommend.
Always on time with the clothing, very attentive (the woman at the desk remembered my name every time I showed up), and fair value for my cleaning. The only ever hiccup I had with them was when Hurricane Dorian came along, and that very impressive to me.Would highly this place recommend to anyone.
These ladies are incredible!!!!! They have saved my life twice and always have a smile on there face when I walk in! Would not take my suit anywhere else.To the team at Low country. THANK YOU x 1000
We needed laundry done fast. The ladies at this place took care of everything - and with a smile. They even stayed late to make sure everything was done. Highly recommended.
Disappointed. I have been a dedicated customer for years, spending over $6,500 annually with this company. A very expensive garment was ruined when I sent it to them for cleaning. I was treated with disrespect and rudeness by Courtney (the owner) when I expressed my concerns. It took the company months to respond to my complaint. I had to file an additional complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I will no longer be using their services based on how this situation was handled, not on the ruined garment. I fully understand these things happen. The company can only control how they handle their customer service and I am beyond disappointed in how I was treated as a customer. Further, I will encourage others to take their business elsewhere. I have never been treated so poorly by a company I have used and promoted for years.
Our philosophy is simple: Treat our customers like family and their clothes as if they were our own This statement could not be farther from the truth. They do not treat their customers like family, and they did not treat my clothes like theyre own. Dont go here.
They completely ruined my silk wedding rehearsal dress. It looks like a cat scratched and shredded it. I have tried multiple times to no avail to get in touch with the owner or someone to at least acknowledge me and address this situation. Terrible customer service. Terrible communication. Terrible service. I will be informing everyone in the surrounding neighborhood just how bad this place is. I thought it would be great because its so convenient to our neighborhood. Boy was I wrong. I will be taking my business elsewhere, as should you.Update to my review: Yes I have used this (Windermere shopping center location) cleaner multiple times for my clothes and my husbands, and to accuse me of slander is utterly ridiculous. I am simply an unsatisfied customer who expected better... Who expected at least a response from the owner, but it has been over a month now...almost two. You should treat your customers with more respect and maybe you would receive better Google reviews. I would post a picture of my receipt if Google would allow it.
I am new to their area and have been looking for a good dry cleaning service. I dropped off all my clothes with Low Country a few days ago. They missed a delivery date and I called to find out why. They were very professional and assured me I would have my delivery by the next morning. They delivered as promised. Also I gave them another bag of clothing at the time of that delivery and they went out of their way to get it back to me the same day.Great recovery and a very professional job by all the staff.
Do not use this laundry service. They ruined my husbands pants in June 2017 and have said they would pay, however, even after contacting the BBB they still have not paid for their mistake. And they actually questioned me going to the BBB-said-The BBB cant help you...I have had the runaround from Mandi the manager and Courtney the owner. You have a choice-Make a smart one!!!
The first comment on their website is how good their customer service is. I use their locker service at my apartment. When you alert them to pick things up - no response. So after about a week I remember to bug them and their response is oh yea its probably in there. Check on it, nothing. Oh yea itll be there tomorrow. Worst communication. Do not recommend.
I hate to have to post this - but today I’m in California for a 6 day business trip/conference. When I opened my luggage up this morning I pulled out 3 shirts that don’t belong to me!!! Low Country mixed up my laundry again. I’m an extra large and the first one I tried to put on before realized the screw up was a medium. Right before leaving charleston I swung by and picked up my dry cleaning. This is the second time this has happened. Last time I had to purchase new shirts because I picked up and paid for the wrong laundry. Last time I don’t even remember if I received a refund after I told them. The thing is I’m sure that I’m not getting all my stuff back either. The girls that work the counter all seem very nice.
Based on the previous good reviews, I was disappointed in what I received. The website says clothes are ready the same day or next day depending on when you drop off your items. When I dropped mine off, they said it would be two days. I had several shirts dry cleaned and I asked for heavy starch. Only two shirts were starched and none of them were pressed. Who dry cleans shirts without pressing them? Hopefully this was just a rare oversight, but Im traveling and unfortunately have no time to return for corrections.
Please go somewhere else. I’m currently in month three of attempting to have the owner replace over $600 in ruined clothes after they admitted fault. They do not respond to any communication and will ruin your clothes. You are better off going anywhere else.
My clothes were ready ahead of schedule and were well cleaned and ironed. There is also convenient short term parking on site. Reasonable prices. Will definitely return in the future!
Glad I didn’t let the bad reviews deter me from giving them a try because they are super convenient to where I live. Ran into the downtown Low Country Laundry today and that gal in there was a huge help.
Customer Beware! I had a pleated linen skirt cleaned over 2 months ago at the Windermere Shopping center location. It was pressed into a flat circle, completely removing all pleats! It has been sent back 5 times now and they have not been able to correctly pleat it. I have been unable to get the manager/owner Courtney Friedman to respond to my requests to call me to discuss reimbursing me for the skirt. Mr. Friedman, I would appreciate hearing from you promptly.I tried to give the business what it deserves - NO STARS - but Google does not allow that!!
Since the owner is so intent on proving slander against legitimate reviews, I am writing to say that I am a customer (go ahead, look me up), and that I have not had good experiences at this place. I do not trust this business with my personal belongings and would not recommend coming here.
Awful. My wife took her rehearsal dinner dress there to clean some stains on the armpits in August of this 2016. When she picked it up, the stains had become shredded fabric. She could have worn the dress with the under arm stains again but not now with the shreds. The dry cleaner asked to keep the dress to show the owner. My wife called a few times and emailed over the next 8-10 weeks to follow up but no response. After being patient, she finally wrote a Google review because when damage occurs and the owner does not even respect a customer enough to respond to follow up calls that deserves a review. The owner as you can see (as a response to my wifes google review) said that she is a liar, that she was never a customer and threatens her of liable, slander and presumably a lawsuit for such things. Their philosophy is to treat people like family on their web page. If we were treated like family with a response to our call and explanation we would not have posted a google review of our experience to begin with. I guess some people treat family differently than our expectations. We still have the cleaning receipt for the dress in question and have in fact done business there on several occasions. We have not had a problem prior to this instance. After being falsely threatened of slander and liable for describing our actual experience, a complaint was filed with the BBB.This is the owners response:This garment was tagged defective and labeled to treat the under-arm stains when it came in for processing before it was ever cleaned or treated, thus proving the garment was already compromised when it was received. I am happy to show proof of this if needed. The customer asked that we remove the under-arm stains. The problem with this is the damage was already done, no stain treatment could reverse the effect of the harmful alkaline damage caused by perspiration and deodorants to the fine silk. What you witnessed was the degradation of the fabric due to the exposure of these alkaline chemicals, which is exactly why the damage is reserved to the under-arm area and no where else. Its chemistry, this is an easy one for me. Its really sad that people use slander and libel before they get the facts strait. Miraculously, my wife who the owner states is a liar and never was a customer actually did have a dress sent there all of a sudden.I gather from the owners response that if you take a dress/garment with a stain there they view the dress/garment as worthless. if they in cleaning, add fabric tears to the area you want cleaned it is of no consequence because to them the dress was worthless on arrival.I also had no desire to recount this story on a public forum and would have much preferred speaking with the owner. However, the owner did not respond to any of my phone calls. The owner did not respond to my wifes phone calls over a several month period. I dont know why he can immediately respond to a google review but not call back a customer.I think the term the owner should use is censorship. We are giving a review or our actual experience. He is threatening us to keep us quiet. We also want our dress back.
I have had to deal with hauling laundry in and out of this place too many times, whether it be my own or my friends. This place is not able to get the job done correctly. Strongly advise customers to go somewhere else! Furthermore, the customer service is pitiful here, only interested in your money not the clothes!!!!
I was a very loyal customer for a year and brought many clothes and my comforter there all the time. I brought in shorts and that were $365 and they were suede. The dry cleaners completely ruined them. I was very upset and went in to talk to the owner and would not call me back for months. The owner gave me back the shorts completely ruined and told me that is how they are suppose to look even though they still had stains on them. He did nothing about it and would not give me my money back or pay for the shorts. I have been to other dry cleaners where they pay for what they have damaged. Very disappointed in their service.
I recently had a couple of items misplaced and didnt make it back to me by scheduled delivery day. When I called to check on them, Whitley was very helpful in finding the items and was able to get them out for delivery that day.
The staff here were all very friendly and my suit and shirt were expertly dry cleaned. They even have a system to text you when your clothes are ready for pick up! I will be returning here for all my dry cleaning needs in the future.
Over charged us $820.00 and won’t refund! My husband and I stopped using this dry cleaner a few months ago. About 2 months after we stopped using them my husbands credit, that they had on file, was card $820.00, he has spoken with the manager several times, she said she knows it’s an error but the owner has to approve that they return our money. This has been going on for a month. My husband has been in 3 times with no luck, and now has to charge back the amount with our bank. It’s absurd to be charged $820.00 in error and for them to refuse to refund it.The reason we originally switched cleaners was because we continuously had problems with clothes being returned dirty-even though I would point out stains, they lost our sheets for 3 weeks, our grey sheets were also returned with orange discolor all over, and items were lost.I would not recommend this cleaner to anyone. Be careful about putting your credit card info on file & check for fraudulent charges.
I went in a couple months back and they treated me so poorly that I didn’t even let them dry clean my clothes. I wouldn’t even let them touch my socks after their terrible performance at the front desk.
Great place! Good prices, conveniently located, and friendly staff! I highly recommend it!
I would never recommend anyone to trust these dry cleaners. My friend brought her suede skirts in and they completely destroyed them. I would never trust them with any of my clothing.
UPDATE 6/30/16: After many phone calls I finally spoke with the manager this morning and he was very apologetic, explained the situation at the store and processed my refund immediately. While I am still upset that my jeans were ruined and that it took so long to get my refund, I appreciated the managers quick work and sincere apologies. I do understand the difficulties of running a small business.6/27/16: Great location, horrible service. I had 4 jeans hemmed and although they did one pair decently, they did a very, very sloppy job on the other 3 pairs and 1 pair I had to convert to capris because they were cut too short to be pants, despite having been measured out in the store! This was over a month ago and I still have not received a refund!! Apparently I keep missing the manager, who I have yet to reach. For the cost, I expected much better work.
Extremely poor service!! Like others above I have been going to Low Country Laundry & Dry Cleaners at their downtown location for years and didn’t have any issues. Once they added a location to Mt. Pleasant I took some items there hoping to get the same great service and shortly thereafter realized that was not going to be the case. When we picked up our items one pair of pants had a massive stain and they all had a horrible smell to them which come to find out was from a broken machine. I took the items back to the store to address the situation and was told I would receive a call from a manager, well that never happened and my clothes are ruined. I reached out several days later and was told by the manager she would get with the owner and let me know something. Well after several more weeks of me reaching out to them I have still not head anything from the owner nor has the situation been resolved. The management and owners don’t seem to care about customer service, I would recommend not using this company and taking your business elsewhere.
Had a large drop off including some cashmere sweaters to be de pilled. They were not and I had them re do it. Came back after two weeks to pick them up again. Sweaters were not there they said that they left them at the warehouse. Went back in two weeks later with no call. They were not de pilled and said that they were now wrinkly because they were shoved in a drawer because they forgot whose they were. Charged me 25 dollars to keep my sweaters for 5 weeks to not depill them and not press them. Worst experience I have ever had with a dry cleaner.
Not impressed. First, they did not pick up when they said they would. Second, I had them launder 3 new shirts and one came back with 2 stains. Third, they still have wrinkles.
Worst experience ive ever had with a dry cleaning business. I have never been treated so terribly. I went to have 3 things dry-cleaned and they lost 2 of them. I finally got them back (after 3 weeks) and was told it was my fault. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This place is the absolute worst.
This place has the most perky, friendly staff. I have had nothing but good experiences here.
They didnt actually clean my suit at all. I didnt even notice until I was about to head into my interview. Avoid at all costs.
They ruined my suite. I was supposed to receive multiple calls and responses about it. never happened. Still in the works to get it fixed and i keep calling. it is now 3 months later.
Great service and fast. Dropped my clothes of and had them cleaned and folded by the next evening.
Consistently need to leave shirts for a second treatment because they either ignore or create new stains
WORST PLACE IN THE LOWCOUNTRY. Dont believe me? Check their unprofessional owner responses to their customers. Unacceptable.
I find the service to be fantastic.
They lost my $3000 suit....
