I was just about ready to say goodbye to my favorite leather jacket that my dog ruined when she was a teething pup. Just before donating the jacket, a family friend recommended the Silver Thimble. I am SO glad I went! I was told my jacket could be re-lined and the parts that were ruined could be fixed up no problem. Professional, personal, and extremely thoughtful staff. I have taken two bridesmaids dresses here and the work has been fantastic. My last experience my bridesmaids dress did not fit and the wedding was in a month! I was worried about this but they reassured me they could fix it. They were flexible, quick, and kept me up to date on how my dress was and what was needed!

They told me my jeans were to large to be altered and that they could do it, but it would be a poor job and that I would be unhappy. I took my jeans to Maria’s in South Windermere and she did an amazing job with no issues.

I cant tell you how many times Sigrid has saved my life by doing alterations. She has even suggested improvement I didnt know I needed. Everything turns out beautifully that she does.

Sigrid is awesome!! I was very upset when the costume I had ordered came in way too small, and Sigrid fixed it up like it was brand new and it looks fantastic. She even got it in done in time during Florence, too. Highly recommend for any costume alterations here in Charleston. I’ll definitely be seeing her again in the future.

While we appreciate Sigrid accommodating us on short notice for a last minute wedding dress alteration, there are a few things that have to be addressed. First, Sigrid asked my not overweight, not pregnant wife, if she was expecting. This is inexcusable and I would assume 99% of the population at this point has more self awareness than this. This was incredibly offensive, and being the DAY BEFORE OUR WEDDING, it was highly upsetting to my wife, who now felt ugly in her dress. Sigrid also repeatedly brought up that the dress took longer than she anticipated and that she would normally charge more. Sigrid examined the dress in person, gave us a time frame and we paid her. It is unprofessional to whine to a customer passively about how the project was harder than anticipated. Aside from those glaring offenses, the dress came out nice and the price was fair. Service was good, attitude was garbage. 2 stars.

Wanted a hem shortened on blue jeans, 3 pair. They quoted a price higher than the purchase price of the brand new jeans. Then said it would take 2 to 3 weeks. Seemed to be not very organized inside. Employees were very nice.

Amazing! Great, great, great not overpriced alterations. Quick and excellently done. Store is easy to find and cute, with fun trinkets and bag.The woman who owns and operates the store is knowledgeable and kind. I recommend to all of my fellow CofC students. Got my formal dress altered perfectly in one week.

I needed a simple alteration done to the waistband of a skirt for a dance performance. The employees at The Silver Thimble seemed very rude and dismissive from the first time I contacted them. However, when I came in to meet with them and explain the work I needed done, they told me it would be a very simple process. I asked how quick the turnaround would be because I have a dance performance in 3 weeks that I need the skirt for. They told me not to bother making an appointment until the skirt arrived because it would take only an hour to complete. The skirt arrived in the mail and I called to make an appointment. I dont know if I spoke to someone different after I got the skirt, but I was told they dont take appointments and that I would have to drop the skirt off today and expect it returned in two weeks (thus rendering me unable to practice my routine at all). I asked what happened to their earlier promises and I asked why I couldnt reserve my spot in line without me handing over the skirt - they were unable to answer any of my questions. I called Dianas Alterations immediately after hanging up. They were able to take my appointment and told me to expect the skirt finished by the end of the week. I will likely be using Dianas in the future and will never call the Silver Thimble again. ((Update)) Dianas Alterations was able to complete the alterations to the skirt in only two days and charged me less than half of what The Silver Thimble was asking. Definitely recommend them over The Silver Thimble any day.

Very efficient and pays great attention to detail was willing to work with me. Cute place with accessories and stuff too. Gets stuff back to you within a reasonable amount of time, like a week, unless its bridal related. Was honest about what would look good instead of just doing what I suggested. Seems experienced and knew her stuff. Ill be bringing things back.

I would give no stars if I could. I just called to see if an alteration was even possible and before I could even get out what I was needing (a simple taking up of straps, literally would take 5 minutes) the woman on the phone yelled out NO! THIS SATURDAY? NO! MY COMPETITION IS 3 TO 6 WEEKS OUT! NO ONE CAN DO THIS FOR YOU! Um, ok. Extremely rude. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt while reading reviews, which is why I gave them a call, but I wouldnt recommend at all based on the experience I just had.

They hemmed my dress perfectly in such a quick amount of time! (2 days) the dress was ready a day early also. I highly recommend them!

Called & then walked in with 11 yr granddaughter, needing long choral dress hemmed, in a matter of 4-5 days. Owner, Ms Sig was there. Very personable, efficient, & dress will b ready for pick-up in just 2 days! Nice cheery, clean environment.

I brought 4 of my 8 year old sons pants in to get hemmed, they were extremely busy this particular week and I was told it would be at least 7 business days. Then they realized it was for a little boy and they called me 1 day later and said they were finished and I could pick them up. Wow. Thank you ST.

I had a great experience . It was a bridesmaids dress and I brought it in last minute . Got the dress back in three days and it was perfect . I was happy and got so many high five . If you need anything done this is the place. Good customer service as well!!!!

When I picked up up my order (new zipper pull on a hoodie), which came to $10.00, they charged an extra $3.00 to use my debit/credit card. They really could have warned me to bring cash or check. *Instead I got a lengthy lecture on why the were justified to surprise me with the charge*. They used Square (via their cell phone) which is a 2.75% charge, no where near $3.00 on a $10 order. I will not return.

Friendly staff, excellent service, and they handle all of my tailoring needs from tuxedos to jeans.

They did amazing with my item got him fully restuffed and repaired although there were some bumps in the road but that was on me but after i did what they asked they got him done in one day i highly recommend this place to anyone who wants any item repaired or restuffedKyle Able
