Michael is next level pro. He is a fabulous colorist and great stylist. When you are looking for something different, he always has great ideas and, more importantly, he can execute them. I have been going to him for over 8 years and he always provides top-notch service.

Michael is hands down the best barber/hair stylist in Charleston. He is like a wizard with his clippers and scissors. There are not a lot of people who take the time and effort to perfect their craft like Michael has. He is the only person i trust to give me a good haircut!

I’ve been looking for a barber in Charleston for a while. Called Michael’s and Michael answered. Told him what I was looking for and he connected me with Scott. Came in the next day and Scott did a fantastic job on a taper fade. Highly recommend.

I went in to get a cut/color tonight. I had spoken via text with Michael previously and told him I wanted to do the wine trend and showed him an inspo picture. He NAILED it. And kept my length but freshened up my cut as Im letting it grow back out. He was on time, professional, friendly, and GREAT at what he does.

They was literally the best! They got me in on a short notice. Kandace was really great, I’ve gotten my hair done plenty of times, and by far she has been the best I’ve ever been to! My hair was also in very bad condition, she helped me get the right products I needed. They are really awesome! I highly recommend!

Im very impressed with my hair cut. It is little bit on the pricey side but it was well worth it. I had really long hair and wanted to donate my hair and go for a different style. I have gone to many different salons in past and not had a good experience. Michael with his experience did an amazing hair cut and style. I was very nervous to get my hair cut because of the long length that was gonna be taken off for me, but with his skills, I was just very surprised and highly impressed. Since my hair cut, Ive been getting so many compliments and people ask me where I got my hair cut from! So I highly recommend Michael. It will be well worth your time and money :)

I needed my hair highlighted to get the black hair dye in the middle of my hair lifted. I had it dyed black & the bottom tips dyed blue 9 months prior. I felt Michael was experienced enough to handle my complicated hair issue. When i came in I had natural growth on top, black hair dye in the middle of my hair, & bleached ends. So it was a tricky task. He did an amazing job scheduling around my work. My hair turned out wonderful. I would reccomend Michael to anyone who needs a trusted, friendly, professional, experienced hairstylist. Thank you again Michael I will be a return client.

Just got my hair colored and cut by Kandace McDonald at Michaels, and I LOVE it! Kandace has worked on my hair before, and she is one of the best colorists in Charleston! Im always happy with the color and cut, every time! She is a great addition to this gorgeous salon--a must see, and a jewel on our East End of Charleston!!!

This man is genius. The moment I sat down he already knew what my hair is like, when my last haircut was and what he suggest doing.The hair whisperer.He knew what I was looking for even before telling him, but still if u want another haircut/style he will comply! He’s just so knowledgeable. He has a great and easy going personality that he’s not too intimating to be approach.Definitely a must go if you need a haircut. I would call and get an appointment as we never has any walk-ins available. He’s just so popular. But not to a point he’s booked up everyday. He’s an important man in town.I constantly travel for work, and I’m willing to travel here to get a haircut again.

I travel for a living and visit a lot of salons across the US. Michaels Hair Studio is going on my list of top 10 salons to visit.I came in with a pretty bland, dressed-down cut that was not very flattering. My sisters wedding is next week and although the attention will be on her (as it should be!), I wanted to look my best as well!Michaels Hair Studio is a small barber shop with a single chair...a 100-ish year old barbers chair he bought in Detroit. Very cool! The shop may be small but its clean and comfortable, with lots of cool decor.Michael is both fast and efficient. I left the cut up to him, and he softened my look and also gave me something thats easy to work with (Im not one to spend hours on my looks). Its been a week since I got the cut and Im able to easily style my hair myself.Im satisfied with the whole experience and would recommend Michaels Hair Studio to anyone in Charleston!

Michaels always tentative to what type of style you want and has great input on what may or may not work well with your hair type.

I have been unable to find a decent hairdresser since moving to Delaware a decade ago. I have very thick hair which can be challenging. My son convinced me to go with him 300 miles to visit Michael and all I can say is that it was worth a five hour drive each way. Plus we brought home Michaels own rose scented shampoo and conditioner which not only leaves my hair in great shape but makes strangers lean in for a whiff. Could not be happier. I have an event coming up and am going to repeat the drive

Michael is in a league of his own. Best barber in town by far and extremely professional. Slightly more expensive than a place like Mastercuts or similar salons but totally worth it if you take your appearance seriously.

Ive been going here nearly two years now and I must say I ve always been thrilled with the results. He listens and really understands his clients needs. He will consult with you and make sure you get exactly what you want, and you can completely trust his judgement which is a huge plus. He routinely cuts, colors, and highlights my hair which has been a great experiance all around. Ive never been more pleased with my hair. Hes a true professional with impeccable service. I couldnt recommend him more.
