Bailey did a fantastic job on my beard. Everyone was friendly, shop was clean. I definitely recommend the beard wash service if you have the extra time, not that it was a time-consuming process. Santizer was available, signs up, masks on for that covid life we living. I will definitely be back. Parking wasnt an issue for my Saturday afternoon appt. I didnt get a haircut, but I would imagine the same care and skill would be applied that went into her work on my beard.

Had a great visit this week. Staff was very professional, all social distancing precautions were followed. I came in after work completely nerve racked and after a relaxing hair cut and shampoo with Maddie I was relaxed. I look.forward to my next trip.

I stopped in while in town visiting family. I ran into a bit of traffic and called to let them know. I was greeted very pleasantly and told to be safe. I arrived 5 minutes late and still treated very kindly as Tasha explained where to park. She also gave me an awesome haircut and beard trim. Fun, friendly staff, phenomenal atmosphere. I plan on coming back whenever I visit my family down here.

My favorite men’s barbershop in town. Would especially recommend if you have a beard or facial hair. The staff and service are top notch.

The staff is really nice but DO NOT come here for any kind of fade. When the girl showed me the haircut, even in the dirty mirror at a distance I could see the lines going across my head, one lower and one upper. I politely said I wanted it blended a little more and that if she needed to make the whole thing shorter to make it work to just do it. After a second attempt it was no better. I gave up and just paid ($35 for a fade, which is about double what it should be) and I ended up having to come home and buzz my head back to zero to start over. Huge waste of time and money. The girls are really nice but I would not come here to get anything other than a scissor trim.

Best shop in town. Go see Bailey if you need a beard trim. Shes the best.

This is my go-to place. The staff here knows what they are doing with beards and the cuts my son received are modern and stylish.

Was in town on vacation and needed a trim and process was easy and quick I booked at 930am for an 1130 appointment. Great cut! Tasha was a pleasure!

This place is phenomenal. So clean. So professional. Scheduling was easy and parking convenient. I got a straight razor fade which was luxurious with hot towels and powder. Katie did a great job with my fade as well. Then I got the scalp massage which was worth it because the cost of the cut was so low it was like the price of a normal cut when I added the shampoo.Will be back soon!

When I first moved to Charleston 2 years ago I struggled to find a good barber shop. I had moved here from CT and after trying a few other local shops with no luck, I decided to give Barber & Shave Shoppe a try. After my first experience here I knew I had found my new barber. Bailey has been cutting my hair for a while now and is always friendly/personable and does a great job! Highly recommend this shop.

Today was my first experience with a barbershop and I am forever sold. Bailey provided one of the best cuts I have ever had and has earned herself a returning client. It was not just the cut that impressed me, Bailey could also tell that I may not have know exactly what she was talking about during the consultation but she took the time to explain it to me and put me at ease. I would highly recommend that everyone give them a shot. I doubt you’ll be disappointed

Stuff wore masks ( I wrote this review during Covid pandemic) which was appreciated. Very friendly and knowledgeable about how to do a full beard.

Haircuts are a little more pricey than Im used to but Tasha did an awesome job! Will be back.

Always a clean fade and the best attitudes in town.

Talented staff but technology leaves something to be desired. I received no notification by phone for an appointment (made a month prior at my previous appointment) and got charged full price for my no show. Unwilling to credit back to my account and having me pay only for the tip of my next haircut. Again, talented staff but dont trust their notification systems.

Joe Foldesi... After 2 years of searching I’ve finally found a new barber shoppe. The shoppe is extremely clean at all times and the amount of professionalism can’t be beat. The Barber & Shave Shoppe offers old school haircuts by new school people. I’ll be recommending this shoppe to all my friends and family!!P.S.. This salon takes credit cards for appointment and has 100% missed appointment policy for cause because:1. They offer no parking or advice as to where to park beyond suggesting illegally parking in the thrift store lot.2. Are in the worst parking area in Charleston.My personal experience:I scheduled an hour and 15 minute session with Natasha for a cut, shampoo, and scalp massage. Upon arrival I found no parking and the worst intersection in Charlston so I called and let them know.I arrive 15 minutes late figuring we would have to cut the scalp massage out. They lie to me at this point by saying Natasha has a 3:00 haircut and they wouldn’t have time for me and that it’s 100% charge but no services.I respond with their appointment receipt showing I am Natasha’s next appointment at 3:15. They stonewall me and won’t address the lie. I am informed I was late.Finally I am told they won’t charge full price to rid the shop of me. I leave. I wrote this.Buyer be cautious, and leave lots of time for parking.

Great job! Great experience! I moved to the Charleston area two years ago and couldnt find a barber shop that I was comfortable with or satisfied with. So, a friend recommended that I go to The Barber & Shave Shoppe and my search is finally over. Ive been going for 3 months now and I get nothing but great haircuts and friendly service. I have and will continue to recommend The Barber & Shave Shoppe to anyone looking for a barber shop that is clean and provides excellent service.

What can I say about this place? It is fantastic. These ladies went out of their way to help me get a shave and a cut when I came in last minute for a party. Thank you so much to Nikki and Katie who did fantastic jobs and are wonderful human being. This is a community barber shop and I wish I lived in Charleston still so I could go every month.

Ladies, dont go thinking this gem of a barber shop is just for the boys! Ive been getting the most beautiful haircuts here from Tila, and I urge any other badass short haired ladies to give them a try! Its such a different experience from your typical hair salon that most women are used to. Yes, theres no frilly overly-scented shampoos and fancy hair products and two-hour long hair cuts, but this place has an amazing vibe, amazing staff, and gives top notch cuts. Not to mention, its a lot cheaper than what Ive ever spent at a salon!

I have been a customer for a year and they have always done a great job.As of today, I am no longer a clientWhy? - because, customer loyalty is not appreciated or given any consideration.Last week, I had an appointment for the early afternoon. I left home with plenty of time to arrive at my scheduled time. Unfortunately, there was a traffic accident and I could see I was going to be late, so I called to let them know . No one answered - I left a voice mail and called again 10 minutes later. Someone pick up this time and I explained the situation and told them again I would be late.I arrived 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment and was told they could shave my neck but that was all they had time for and I would be charged the full amount. That was the policy and she had to enforce it.I needed a haircut, not a neck shave, so I declined the service.As the owner, Brandy, is on maternity leave, I asked if she could be consulted about giving me a credit due to being a loyal customer and circumstances beyond my control. I also re-scheduled for tomorrow and let them know that if no consideration was given, I would cancel my appointment and they would lose a loyal customer.I received a call just now that no credit would be given, so I cancelled tomorrow and my future appointments.I understand there is a 24 hour cancellation policy in place but I have been a loyal customer and I called as soon as I knew there was an issue and I showed up to prove it. Even a 50% credit would have been acceptable but I was offered nothing.The beauty of owning a business is you can make decisions on your own - you can break your own rules if it makes sense.Why would any reasonable businessperson walk away from a loyal customer when they could have been retained for as little as $25? I can only assume that business is so good that customer retention is not a concern. Too bad - at $50 per visit, thats $600 a year in revenue. I would have been going there for at least the next 10 years.A disappointing decision from a smart business owner who should know better...

I have been going to The Barber & Shave Shoppe for over two years and they are always top notch. I have had multiple of the ladies in their do my hair when Brandy is out of town and am never disappointed. I drive over 30 minutes each way because of the awesome experience I always get. Got a beard trim and haircut, I must say I have been many places, they by far have done the best on my beard so far. I will be returning monthly for upkeep, great atmosphere and awesome barbers, and the drinks before hand and good music in the background awesome.

Visiting from out of town and needed a haircut. Saw Barber & Shave Shoppe had good reviews on Google and Yelp, so I figured Id give it a try. Brandy did a fantastic job with my haircut, making sure it was to my liking multiple times during my appt. I needed a pick-me-up on a Friday afternoon and decided to splurge on a straight razor shave, which she did a great job on as well. I would recommend Brandy to anyone looking for a great mens haircut or shave and plan on stopping by if I am ever in Charleston again.

Beard trim and a hair cut? This is your place. I keep a beard year round, super picky in general and it’s always scary going to a new place. I’m starting a new sales job I was in a pinch when my regular barber of 5 years cancelled last minute. Luckily walked in to BSS on a whim and Tila had an opening. I’m so glad I did! She knocked it out the park! Highly recommend this place and Tila. I found my new spot and it’s right down the road from my house. Thanks y’all! keep it up!!

Literally havent had a better experience since I was back home in Los Angeles. Ashley is hands down the best in charleston and the haircut I got was second to none. An amazing atmosphere topped with friendly and professional staff makes this the only place you should go in charleston to get your hair cute or face shaved.

I used to like going here but lately the customer service has ben absolutely atrocious. I have had to appointments one of which was scheduled for the incorrect time and the other was canceled without my knowledge. Neither time did I receive an email or a courtesy phone call requesting information from me or confirming the cancellation and when I confronted the owner about it she was standoffish and refused to make any sort of accommodation for me other than Im sorry youll need to reschedule your appointment. I will never be going back Here and unless you are willing to be treated like absolute garbage by the owner then I suggest you avoid this place like the plague.

Always loved coming to this place, pricing is excellent. The only issue i have now that I want to come back there, is there only seems to be 1 barber and it makes scheduling a cut with my schedule difficult
