I don’t often write a review, but the guy name is Dustin Cason is so amazing! Made me want to write this review. I had some issues with my personal training membership, and last couple of times I tryed to fix an issue and had a very difficult time because the person who worked at the gym said nobody can fix the issue. I had to contact the the customer service. I called and wrote a email a couple of times but still nothing. One day I went to the gym to try to fix the issue for a second time. I met Dustin and he helped me right away. Dustin fixed my problem fast. Plus even gave me some extra things. And the way he talked to me made me feel like I got a good trade. He made my day. He was very nice and very fast. He showed he cared about me as a valued customer. He helped me find a great trainer. If you have any questions and are trying to start a personal training program in this location then go find Dustin. He will answer all your questions and give you the best service. I highly recommend!!

If you want to have have fun, burn calories, and hear the best music.. take a class with Claudia! Her Bodyworks classes are amazing. Her high energy and positive attitude make time go by quickly. Sometimes I forget Im working out because its so much fun. Thank you Claudia for kicking my but and making it fun!

I went to the smoothie shop inside, they have excellent plant based smoothies. Dave and his wife Regina, the owners of kiwi juice bar are amazing people.

I love this gym. Its very clean and the sauna feels so great after a hard workout.

Hands down the worse place next to A-west. Why? I was banned from a-west because an employee inquired about my s** life. Needless to say, its highly inappropriate; of course. Which only portrays how little professionalism is capable of being obtained at this LA Fitness location. Besides the juice bar at this location, I have nothing sweet to speak. Truthfully, I have already expelled to much energy in such a hateful places. know that discrimination happens in many ways. But one way it keeps going, is silence. Tread on LA Fakeness.

So I haven’t worked here but I did see hiring signs everywhere once I applied I called to inform them my interest a nice guy answered the first time and asked me to call the next morning when gm is around and once I called the next morning another older guy with a deeper voice answered rudely and said they aren’t hiring and hung up I don’t know what happened I would say false advertising and being rude isn’t the way to go.

I really have to give a good review here. Since reopening, LA Fitness has gone above and beyond on cleanliness, temperature checks, and social distancing. Regardless of your political opinion, I have to give props to them for having such a clean facility.They also have equipment cleaner at designated stations which is great because even before COVID, it’s good to clean your equipment after use. Nobody wants to see sweat all over the equipment regardless of pandemic.My trainer is extremely communicative, created a fantastic plan, and is a great motivator. I highly recommend Courtney.I have been going for a while since they reopened and I’m not concerned about COVID. I highly recommend this location at this point.

This location has slightly older equipment than other LA fitness clubs. The mezzanine level with the cardio stuff is really cool, good view from up there. The atmosphere is low key and family friendly, not too many grunting steroid users, which is nice.

Great place to work out. New power racks and bumper plates make a difference. Very large space so I feel quite safe with distancing measures

JennA at this location is by far one of the BEST I have ever found. She makes my Monday & Friday mornings so official. Quads on fire! Nice gym, nice machines, nice amenities, but absolutely god awful customer support and knowledge. Do not start a membership here. If for whatever reason you wish to cancel your membership expect to go on a journey of a life time to simply cancel a monthly fee. I was told back in September by an agent at this location that my account would be closed and I would no longer be charged. Come January 1st I check my account and there is almost $100 missing for 3 months of a gym membership that was apparently closed. After speaking with their Member Services Department I was promptly told that the failure to cancel the account was my fault, and that I could only be refunded half of what I was charged, with the reasoning being This is a business, we cannot refund anyone who asks for it. Perhaps the issue starts from the foundation, with the employee who had told me she took care of my cancellation, or perhaps the issue is the company and their absurd cancellation process specifically put in place to be an absolute hell hole when trying to cancel. Either way, this company is a nightmare and expect it to be the same for you. Do yourself a favor and work out somewhere else.

I visited this LA Fitness, 3985 S Arizona Ave Chandler AZ on Sunday 10/25. I noticed a guy not wearing a mask and working out. I pointed it out to the girl at the front desk. She said she cannot leave the front desk and there was no one else working that could go talk to this guy not wearing a mask. This is an unacceptable answer. I also saw a young kid check in at the front desk with his mask down to his neck and not wearing it. She didnt tell him to pull it up and put it on. I also went to use some sanitizer and it was empty. I guess this place is not equipped to follow the guidelines and rules a club must follow. I am a member and would like to see this place stay open but their lack of effort to enforce the mask policy was so blatantly poor I felt a need to be responsible and point this out. Hope someone cares. As a side note, eventually the front desk girl got a salesperson to go over and talk to the person not wearing a mask but this was after asking a second time.

If I can I would give 0 stars. There is NO trainers available and those who are there they are called Master trainers. None of this information was provided to us when they hook us into these training programs. And in this COVID time gym is closed but still they kept on charging my account. This is despite we calling them and asking them to freeze the account. There is a serious communication problem within them, they say something and never keep their word.So if you ask my opinion. stay away from this place!!!

Perfect place to workout. It has multiple fitness classes that I get for free with my membership. Very clean facility that rarely gets busy. Equipment is always in working order and when it is not, they are very quick to place a work order and get it fixed. They also have personal training available with the friendliest staff! So happy to have a gym like this to be a part of!!!!

Aaron Beck was absolutely fabulous Im working with me through my intro assessment in the training. He was so patient and absolutely wonderful to talk to. He cares and is passionate about his position and for the members. I am thoroughly impressed!

This club is alright. I would recommend the Gilbert and 202 location if it’s not too far of a drive. Its cleaner and the front desk people are way more helpful and kind. However the 2 guys working the front desk in the later afternoon who I’ve seen are nice, the others are hit or miss. The scale in the women’s bathroom has been broken since the remodel so if that could get fixed sometime soon that would be helpful. Other than that, I would recommend this La Fitness.

Clean, well run facility. Mens locker room quite clean. Machines seem to get repaired at a good pace. Would be nice if they had a pullover machine. Great location with stores, food and nutrition shop nearby. Long-term member.

I been a member since it opened. Some at the some at the front desk feel entitled. Other than that The personal trainers are good people, some of the cleaning crew are good people. Best times go 5AM, 10AM 3pm. Best gym rats to workout with, and not busy.

Greg is a true legend, I’ve never met a man that is this nice. He has a lot of cool stories to tell you if are signing up but yeah he is pretty cool.

Spacious. Well equipped. Efficient trainers. Interesting part is therapeutic exercise in swimming pool for aged with joint problems while walking.

The club was nice and clean.. however Greg was very rude and misleading about pricing. He called and bugged me 3 times and a text. I ask about a pass to try the gym out and he said you pay first and if you don’t like it after a month they would give the $25 back. I just now seen here online they do give a 5 day pass. He did give the price on the phone but it wasn’t like he said once I was in the chair. He said he couldn’t show me the gym because he can’t walk and needed knee surgery.When the pricing was changed I said I would think about it because that was not what he told me... he then grabbed the paper he was writing on and crumbled it and tossed it in the trash.I then called Emily to let her know and she said she would have Austin call.. Austin didn’t call, it was Greg again. He asked me if I called him and I said no... he then hung up on me!A real jerk

Signed a family member up and Greg was extremely helpful and courteous. Very knowledgeable and was not at all pushy. Highly recommend this place. Facilities are clean. Ask for Greg when signing up.

John Winters with the personal training program laid out a plan and within 50 days Ive already dropped 4.2% Body Fat and 18lbs and still have five months to go! Thanks to following the plan Im on my way to a fitness level Ive never been at. If you want to get fit and healthy, they are the real deal --

I have been with LA fitness in different branch past 4 yrs but after moving to Chandler, I joined in this branch....useless center no proper trainer ....I joined personal training session and paying so much but now good trainers are either promoted or left the job and all new useless trainer they give for personal training session ....when I join they gave training with good trainer so paid and joined ...it is one year contract and I am wasting my money...never ever recommed to take any personal training session in this center ...Arizona ave & octilla cross centerAlso front desk are useless they don’t even communicate the message To trainers when we inform them ...better to replace these staff and trainers

Love going to this gym but the woman at the front desk is something else. She spent all of 2 minutes yelling at me in front of other people because she misunderstood me when I said “I don’t have my key tag today could you use my phone number?” After yelling at me for not having it and acting as if the world was ending someone next to me laughed, she stared him down then continued to scold me. Then my boyfriend spoke up and told her to put in my number and she got all quiet saying she was confused. Then had to put in my number 3 times (the first two she typed in the wrong number) before letting me in. Normally I would let it slide however this is the 3rd negative encounter I have had with this woman and my friend knows her as the “mean one” from her own experiences with this woman. This club would be perfect except for the fact that her customer service brings them down.

This location specifically has a serious issue with customer service. Every other LA fitness I go to, the front desk is more than helpful friendly and polite. The girl who works evenings here has a serious attitude problem

The gym décor looks a little tired however it is going to get an upgrade in April 2019 so it should look better once spruced up. I went one afternoon and it was not very busy. Plenty of equipment on the ground floor, treadmills and stair climbers up on the mezzanine. There is an elevator to get to the mezzanine as well as a pool and full basketball court.

Yoga...awesome. Desk service.... utterly disinterested. Management...high pressure sales. Equipment...fantastic. in short, a solid gym.

I just signed up at L.A Fitness on Arizona Avenue yesterday and I have to say I had a great experience. Michael gave me a tour and was patient and friendly. I was introduced to the owner and he was very welcoming. I have read the good and bad reviews and I can only report on my own experience. I will write a review in 2 months to see if my experience has remained great or has changed. So we will see what happens :)

Kids club staff are great here on Arizona Ave, the gym is well situated, but Id prefer more mat space and weight benches because it tends to get crowded in the evening and difficult to find space for HIIT workouts.

Front desk is extremely rude. Took a tour around the gym and wanted to have some time to think about enrolling. Sales rep wouldn’t let us go since he wanted his commission. He got annoyed at ME for not enrolling at the spot. Any purchase needs consideration and thought but obviously the front desk doesn’t understand and they just want your money. Never coming back again

Has good variety of weights and machines. Initiation fee can be easily negotiated as well as monthly fee. Its a gym. Most things are in good condition compared to other gyms. Dont see why its a bad gym, membership can be used at every LA fitness. Just dont get manipulated.

Its not too busy which is nice, typical la fitness. They have what you need not many frills.

Be very weary about signing up with the personal training program. They sell the personal training but do not deliver. I was passed around to three different personal trainers that were nice people but no organization. Most likely coming from management. I was never weighed, measured, or received a meal plan. I was told I would also get a gift card but that did not happen either. I also never received a workout plan. This really was not what I had in mind. When I found another solution at a different gym I went to cancel and well here is where it gets bad. They wanted me to pay HALF the amount that was left on the balance for (6) months. I received threatening phone calls from corporate and never once from the actual location. I paid the $700 some odd dollars and chalking this up as a HUGE loss. Make sure you get everything that they will do for you in writing because I am at a major loss and never received what they promised to give. Very disappointing.

Star rating is more tied to the fact they’re claiming this location qualifies as a signature/exclusive location. If this was a regular la fitness gym, I’d probably rate it a 4 and would go back, but so confused why they’re trying to make this an “exclusive” signature club, other than fancier signs and fresh paint, everything seems the same as all the other locations in the area, but smaller, and bathrooms were even worse condition than the regular clubs. Also, as of yesterday (2/28) the aerobics room had an intense chemical/varnish smell that made me dizzy and nauseous, had to leave the Zumba class early (and instructor was not at the caliber of what I’d expect for an instructor for a club wanting to be exclusive)

Love it here. Its my gym home. The equipment is upkept, modern, and the staff are friendly.

The gym itself is fine. There is no changing a membership if they advertise a better rate. You will have to cancel and re-enroll to get the better rate and pay the enrollment fee again.

I LOVE this gym. It has amazing staff and good facilities. Ive been going with my friends for 8 years and this is by far the cleanest location I have been to. The only problem i have is that some of the members are rude and verbally abusive to staff. My son signed up for training a while ago and trains at this location, he loves the new training manager Christina (everyone adores her). I saw two of the men bellow ganging up on her and threatening the poor girl. She remained sweet as always but really LA Fitness protect your employees. Good thing they at LEAST terminated their memberships.

High turnover of master trainers meant my training regimen was not very effective. We moved to EOS, and wanted to use the remainder of the paid up access to LA Fitness. Rude membership staff refused access to my wife. It was a weekend and they insisted they would have to check with the corporate office, which was closed that day. They rudely refused even courtesy access. This was after multiple years of membership at this location. I expected courteous, professional behavior and are never going back to LA fitness.

Clean place

Like all LA Fitness locations, this gym is clean and fully equipped with the latest fitness machines and complete sets of free weights (dumbbells and barbells). Theres a pool, dry sauna, jacuzzi, lockers, and showers. Other amenities include a Spin room and a large room for fitness classes which you can sign up for that are scheduled through the day. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Location caters to young and old alike. A playroom is available for children.Stay clear of the smoothie bar called Kiwi. Prices are really high, workers cant speak to the ingredients of their protein powders (which are all junk anyway) and youll be pressured into joining their frequent customer plan.

Swimming instructor is excellent. Shouting causes Echo and that is very irritating and makes it difficult to hear anything at all. Window light and ceiling lights are too bright and make it hard on the eyes. Otherwise the club seems to have everything in person would need.

The facility, equipment and working hours are all good, would give 5 stars no problem.But membership and personal training contracts are simply a fraud.Just never ever talk with salesmen or personal trainers. Google it, why.Personally I think LA Fitness should have its license suspended for dishonest and fraudulent practices.Funny thing is that they may have better business by doing it right way, but - no, cant stop fighting for every penny like hungry peons.

Totally fraudulent sales practices. My husband has been a member for years, but only recently considered personal training. The sales person, Adam, flat out lied. He said the contract could be cancelled within 10 days. My husband spoke to him within the cancellation period and said he wanted to cancel. Adam said he would take care of it and wrote down his membership number. That was three months ago, the training was not cancelled, and they have now billed our card $840. No one returns phone calls including the manager, and Adam denies that he said he would cancel it. He actually approached my husband at the gym and said, Are you trying to get me fired? when my husband tried to speak to the manager. Completely unprofessional organization. Do NOT trust them.

It is a good place to exercise and they have good group classes.

Ive been a member since La Fitness purchased Pure fitness and have visited many of the LA locations throughout the valley. I recently moved to Chandler and was more than happy to find out a new location was opening to shorten my commute for a quick workout. That being send, this is one of the better locations in the valley and I frequent 3-4 times a week.While my interaction with the staff is minimal, no more than a simple greeting, the equipment is new and seems well maintained and unlike other reviews I dont find it to be a complete mess. Granted, some weights are left on the equipment, the staff will make their rounds and clean up after members, I dont see it necessary for them to stand guard and police the gym. Were adults, clean up after yourselves and others wont have to.I dont come to the gym for fancy fills, I use it for what it is, a place to work hard, sweat, and at end of the day see results.

At the end of the day, a gym is a gym - they will try to plug on a personal training package with them and its a big expensive mistake! Dont do personal training its def NOT worth it. As far as the gym itself - its new and clean (for now), membership isnt a contract but you must cancel 15 days prior to next billing date. I cancelled my gym membership after being the squeaky wheel and my personal training package took longer and also had to be the one calling almost daily to ensure it - and only was able to because Ive relocated internationally - so unless youre 25 miles away from an la fitness, youre stuck. That was fair enough for me!

If i could give zero stars i would. we were visiting from out of town and inquired about a week pass and were directed back to a salesperson named Greg. He didn’t acknowledge us until convenient and then informed us (without making any sort of eye contact or inviting us into his cubicle) that they do not offer week passes, come to find out from other locations that they do offer week passes. we have never felt so disrespected and insulted by the lack of regard to potential customers. we both work at gyms and have higher expectations for sales reps. wouldn’t recommend this gym on arizona and ocotillo as they don’t deserve your business.

It’s a usual LA. A gym is a gym, I’m not picky. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because LA fitness as a corporation is TERRIBLE to its personal trainers, which really bothers me AND because it’s way too effin hot and humid in the building during monsoon season. You have to turn the air down a couple degrees to combat the stickiness.

The gym itself has what you need. Pool is tiny and hot tub looks dirty. Low variety on group classes which get cancelled a lot. Greg the sales rep is rude and tries to milk you of every penny. I tried cancelling my memebership over the phone and they claim I have to come in to can el due to privacy issues. How can I can el everything else on the phone but not my gym membership....? I feel like they just want to try to convince me to stay which I will not be doing.

Decent gym. Has the main stuff you want and they keep it fairly clean.

Its a gym. Decent equipment, clean locker rooms and facilities. Staff are all over the place usually landing somewhere between I dont give a crap and rude. All but one of the trainers Ive had experience with are just as bad with the addition of being green. Turns into a crap shoot after 230pm. This may be due to the high school across the street.Gym has overall oppressive feel. It feels like everyone just goes there because there isnt another full gym near by in the same price range. Cant say I wont go here but if I have the time to drive to another location... Thats what Im going to do.

You guys have the worst customer service I have ever seen!! You revoke memberships because family member and I worked out and he shows me the ropes on how to lift correct!! I told your training manager Christina who sits around creeping into peoples personal lifes instead of training or helping gym members that this was my nephew and she still did not care saying he was training me!! Worst customer service I have ever seen!! Last time I checked its ok to have family or buddies helping you out but not at this gym!!! They only care about there staff and not the customers opinions or in this case the truth!!

They remodeled with tile floors, wood trim and a really stupid trainer area thats never being used. Then they reorganized and messed up the flow of the whole place. To his area makes it hard to move around. Very poor space Mgmt!!! Bad idea and a total waste of $$$$. To top it off, they closed the Gym for 10days to screw it all up!!! Management has their heads up their butts!!! How about asking patrons that are there every day and use the place!!? Thinking about swicthing to EOS.

If I could give ZERO stars I would! My Husbands been a member for awhile & so my 18 year old Nephew who just moved to AZ decided to get a membership so they can work out together. Then after only a few weeks Christina decides that my nephew is somehow training my Husband & she revokes his membership. I would have NEVER thought that Family could not work out together & help each other out! Not only that, but now they wont refund my nephews $160+ that he just spent on getting the membership that he only had for a few weeks! Wow guys- Good job on taking advantage of an 18 year old who just moved here from out of state! You guys have horrible customer service & even worse people skills!

OMG this companys tactics at membership retention should be criminal and I believe some methods staff and managers use are.I tried to cancel my membership that I wasnt using since I moved and Planet Fitness was closer... They wouldnt allow that by phone so I had to go there but only to the club I joined at. Then (no joke) I went there and cancelled only to find out they somehow restarted my membership and billing the next day. They even confirmed this to me by telling me yes, we see it was cancelled on ____ but then restarted the following day.What the heck? This is seriously messed up. Im still fighting them on the charges incurred past that day.

The staff at the front desk was very mean and rude to everyone he wouldn’t allow my son to join in.. The staff said he had to have an ID verification to check out the place.. probably the worst experience I’ve ever had.

Good for the most part, but these young kids these days know nothing about customer service 😕 The best part is Lisa in the T/Th cycle class.

The customer service at this particular LA fitness is absolutely horrible. Ive been a member of LA fitness clubs for 18 years and Im a competitive athlete that trains five days a week. Hands-down this club has no class, the general manager is a jerk and the sales reps are terrible. I personally referred a few of my friends there and they were treated like garbage. I was embarrassed and had apologize to my friends and their wives for the treatment they received. Ive never personally had a problem there because of my size I can be quite intimidating but its not my character . I started observing how others were treated and its the same as my friends. If youre not giving them money they dont want anything to do with you. Its sad because the other LA fitness locations are great but this particular one on Arizona Avenue I wouldnt recommend anyone.

Maryella at the front desk is one of the friendliest, courteous people LA Fitness has employed since they opened. She always greets you with a smile, and asks if you need help.

I want to like this gym I really do but for one its dirty and secondly it seems like at nights they just let anybody work such as highschool kids and operational wise thats not a good thing and it shows, put on a smile.Try greeting your customers that pay to workout there!

I signed up for the classes and the classes here SUCK. At least half the cycle classes are canceled each week. The staff are unaware of the cancelations. The cardio kickboxing class had 2 people in it. Low music. Sales people are extraordinarily rude. Floors dirty. Im very disappointed.

I loved this gym for a while. The staff is very nice and it is clean. However, this place is like an open gym for Hamilton high school, half of which probably arent members due to them sneaking in the back door or not badging in. The wireless internet works until you move around the gym. At which point, you lose connection and cant sign back in due to the splash page not populating. Wrote notes to the operation manager and told front desk numerous times after a three month span. It was never fixed. My issue with La fitness is that they really dont have an identity. They charge a premium price, slightly less than an upperscale club but offer the same aminities as lower end gyms like EOS or planet fitness. This club is clean but the many guests do not put their weights away. Also, they do not offer bumper plated weights, which is fine, but members drop them as if they were. This gyms management is severely horizontally fragmented with minimal communication. For example, sales can sell you a memebership, but operations are the only ones who can cancel. Any complaints to the sales or managers, who are their the majority of the time, cant be resolved as it needs to go through operations. I get it; their business model is great for metrices and goals but stinks for their product and for their guests. Pay more and go to mountainside or liftime. Pay less and go to EoS or planet fitness.

Good location with a nice cardio section.

This is the worst gym I have seen in my life, the old sales man Greg loot your money. Dont believe him and not advisable gym. No chance of giving less than single star, otherwise I would give minus marks. Worst customer service.

Staff need to regularly check the floor to enforce mouth and nose covering policy rather than customers having to ask staff to enforce. Dont risk a shutdown in the event of a virus outbreak.

I really dont want to give any stars. The kids Klub employees were very rude. They told me my children were a problem but did not come and get me. Im not going back to this location. Im staying at my dobson and warner location where we are treated a lot better. And my children are not a problem there. Hmmmm....

This report is not about the gym facilities which aside from finding dirty underwear and socks in the showers sometimes...., all else is okay. This report is to make people aware of one of the low class, uneducated, condescending and extremely unprofessional collector of dues by the name Maryella who humiliated me last night while trying to hold grudges against me since I did not update the billing information with her so she could get her commission. She begged too much and I felt like I was being harassed a little bit for $ 29 dollars.I received texts messages from her also and they showed such an unreal desperation that I can only imagine what she might be experiencing in her life to agree to do that job. But she does the job attacking people and using the loudspeakers at the gym to make you go back to the front desk resembling a border patrol incident. I am very disappointed to say the least. Olga, her boss is going to hear from me today so Maryella can pick her fights in a wise manner or she can be secluded somewhere with a leash. Shame, shame, shame on WHO LA Fitness hire!!!! I am firmly considering a different gym but also because of other reasons, not just this poor peasant Maryella.
