I called around to get my wedding band fixed and was greeted by Jody. I arrived to the store a short while later and was impressed by how friendly and professional Jody was! She spent almost an hour with me going over repair options and helping select a new wedding band to wear on a daily basis. The turn over time for my wedding band repair was quoted at two weeks which was much quicker then the 4 weeks I was told by another near by store. I highly recommend Boyson Jewelry!

They listened to his vision and made it a reality. They were very straight forward in the purchasing process, without giving him the run-around or proposing condition-specific discounts. This review is a LONG time coming. I went in to get an engagement ring without any prior experience. From the very first second I stepped into the store, I felt comfortable. This was the first time I had ever looked at engagement rings, or any jewelry. Jody took an immense amount of her time to give me a crash course on all things diamond/engagement ring. She did all of this, without pushing for a sale or expecting me to buy on the spot. I cant say enough about the time she took, and not brush off someone who may not be a potential buyer. This gave me the confidence I needed to intelligently shop around, but ultimately came back to Boyson because of the level of service I received. I often talk about Boyson Jewelry as the pinnacle of what customer service should be!

My husband first purchased my engagement ring over 9 years ago. Weve bought my mom earrings and a few other small purchases here and there. Every time we walk into Boyson Jewelry, we are taken care of. Most recently, my mom came in from out of town and is getting a custom setting. We walked in 10 min before close and Jody went above and beyond in helping us pick out something just perfect for my moms 60th. Thank you for such great care and treating us like family! Took a ring in to be repaired was told it would be 3 weeks. I needed the ring in 12 days. Brett got it gone in 11. Outstanding service very friendly would recommend.

Jody and Boyson Jewelry were an absolute delight to work with. I came to them to create an engagement ring for my girlfriend (now fiancé) . Jody is a professional. She was able to bring my vision to life as I rattled off all of the qualities I wanted to have in the ring. Additionally, I gave her a price range that she stayed within nicely - no last minute “I know it’s more than you wanted to spend, but (insert pitch here)” She both got me what I wanted and overdelivered on the intuitive designer side to cultivate a ring that literally took my fiancé’s breathe away when I proposed. She used the words “perfect”, “beautiful”, and “gorgeous” to describe the little little collection of gold and diamonds shining out of a small, black box.That moment would not have been as magical without Jody and Boyson Jewelry. I’ve since purchased earrings from them that perfectly matched the engagement ring (perks of having a good relationship with your jeweler).Even though I now live in California, I will always be calling Jody and Boyson Jewelry for the birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and any other occasion that I know where the little things make a big difference.If you’re wondering if this is the right place to go, take the leap. So impressed! My husband and I walked in to Boyson Jewelry to have my wedding ring resized. He said it would be no problem at all when another store had turned me away and said it couldnt be resized. Brett did a fantastic job and got my ring back to me quickly. He polished it and cleaned it to perfection. It feels brand new again and I cannot stop looking at it! Thank you --strongly recommend!!!

My fiancee and I worked with Jody. She was very friendly and personable. We were very excited when we found out that we could get a customized ring to match my fiancees engagement ring. Unfortunately, things did not go well from there.We were under a time crunch with the wedding only a month and a half away. Jody had quoted us four weeks for the whole process and it ended up taking six or seven weeks. We felt rushed because things were going so slow. When we finally got the wax it was difficult to tell, but looking at wax we didnt realize the completed ring would turn out as poorly as it did. When we got the completed ring, it was clear it was not that great. In comparison to the engagement ring, it looked very poorly done with the matching patterns distorted and spotty and it cost almost twice as much as the engagement ring. Further, Boyson doesnt have any satisfaction guarantee, so even though we were very displeased with the final ring, we were obligated to buy a poorly crafted ring.We also purchased my wedding band there and it was a bit too small. We were fed up with Boyson and wanted to return it and go to another trusted jeweler. At this point, I found out my ring considered custom made as well because it was made to my size (though it is too small) and could not be return. Jody had never told us my ring was custom and non-refundable and this was perhaps the most frustrating part.Finally, this was my first major jewelry purchase and I had never heard about rhodium plating of white gold. AFTER we purchased the rings, she told us about the rhodium plating and that wed likely have to get them re-plated every year or so for $25 a piece.Overall I am very frustrated and will never go back to Boyson or recommend it. While Boyson failed significantly in all the above ways, I recognize they have a stellar and long-lived reputation. If only one of the above problems (excluding the lack of information about my ring) had occurred, I would have ignored it as a simple slip in an otherwise outstanding history. However, with everything combined this was a case of lack of quality work, communication and transparency.

My parents had a beautiful onyx diamond ring made for me at Boysons and over the past 50 years, I have broken the onyx and worn the engraving many times. Each time Boysons reconditioned the ring to brand new or better condition for a very nominal cost! Since both of my parents have passed and I have moved away to Wayzata, MN., I found myself not returning to Cedar Rapids to have my ring repaired. I decided that since Wayzata is such an upscale suburb, certainly a local jewelry store could support replacing my broken onyx. They stole the original diamond along with much of the gold that the diamond was mounted on!! They actually remounted the substitute on the onyx!! I will be back to Boysons in the spring to get their help to rebuild to their original specifications! There is no substitute for Boysons and I will never trust anyone but them ever again!

My family has purchased all of their high-quality jewelry that we have here, and we dont intend on changing that anytime soon!
