I got a Deva cut and a balayage done here by Ashley W a while ago and I’m still so in love with my hair! She was extremely kind and helpful in helping me determine what shade I wanted by looking at my reference photos with me and showing me the colors she was thinking so I was comfortable with how we were proceeding. She was super fun and lovely to work with the entire time of the appointment, even when I ended up making her run longer because of how much hair I had! This was only my second Deva cut experience ever, and my first time at Twisted Scizzors, and it was honestly so helpful I don’t see myself going back to a different salon. She gave me so many tips on styling and even let me keep some clips that I could use for that! Ashley W was the greatest and the entire staff was so friendly as well!

My experience at Twisted Scizzors goes beyond exemplary ! Every time I go to this salon, I come out more satisfied. My hair is always done to perfection. I constantly get complements on my hair and recommend Twisted Scizzors where ever I go. I see Amanda for my hair, but have also seen A couple other stylists on occasion. Linsey does all the curly heads in our family and they wouldn’t go anywhere else. We are always treated with the utmost kindness and courtesy as soon as we walk in the door. I recommend everybody gives Twisted Scizzors a try…

I bought my girlfriend an appointment to get her hair cut here. This was a big change she was really excited for. We waited for over 30 minutes after her scheduled appointment. There seemed to be absolutely no care for the fact that we were waiting that long and even less care when we said we were leaving. It seems that this place has zero professionalism (as was said by other reviewers here). If you value your time, dont go here, because they dont. There are PLENTY of other hair salons to choose from.

Very happy with Twisted Scizzors. Was in there about a week ago. I was quite lucky that I was able to call in the morning and get a same day appointment. I appreciated that they did an in-depth questionnaire regarding the health of my hair. Mainly because I have been suffering from hair loss due to Telogen Effluvium. The owner was at the front desk, friendly as can be and so helpful. They took great care to wash, condition, trim and very carefully blow dry my hair. My hair looked so much better with the cut. I am grateful to have found them and I now have a new go-to hair dresser.

The services Ive had are, color, cuts and styles. They have all been with Heather Cain, shes awesome. The desk staff are amazing and happy to serve you.

Absolutely awful experience. Made an appointment for a simple haircut, nothing complicated. Waited for 20 minutes and asked the receptionist with an update. She was rude and dismissive., told me the stylist would be soon. Another 10 minutes passed, I left. Ridiculous to have someone waiting that long with no update. If the stylist was running late, it wouldve been nice for something to have been said rather than keeping me waiting. Clearly no respect for other peoples time. Take your money elsewhere.

Got my haircut from Amir. She seemed extremely disinterested in cutting my hair. I asked for a style I wanted and she gave me an awful cut. I could have styled my hair myself, it was so bad. She gave me a horrible fringe cut that didn’t fall great on my face. Ruined my day. I guess I just got unlucky with the stylist. Never returning back!

I get my hair down here every year, for my birthday and they always have a great environment, and do a great job!

So to start off I had my hair done at another salon in Raleigh, in which I walked out wanting to be a brighter blonde but received looking like a 70 year old man with grey hair. Upon this crisis I called up this great establishment in Cary and was booked an appointment within less than a days notice… Not only was the staff extremely nice but the owner herself worked on getting the color in which I wanted from the start… This place is highly skilled and overall has a great atmosphere…. If it wasn’t for them and the owner being so accommodating I would have had to walk around with a color I absolutely hated for longer than what I wanted to. The owner herself is a very pleasant individual, very professional and overall a great business owner. Overall 10/10.

I came here with my girls. For my oldest it was her first time getting her hair dyed. Heather Cain was their stylist. She listened to what they wanted and they were so stoked about the result :)

Alyssa is the sweetest person! With Covid and track out, I did not have anyone to watch my daughter while I got my hair done. But Twisted Scissors did not mind at all that my 5 year old came with me. Alyssa offered my daughter the chair next to me and brought us both drinks and even went as much as getting some hot chocolate for my daughter. I got the Brazilian blow out and it came out beautifully. This is the place to go and Alyssa is the person to see!!

I love the ambiance as soon as I walk through the door at Twisted Scissors. The front desk staff is always so nice and the decor is fun! Heather does a amazing job with my straight hair and I enjoy chatting with her while I’m there! I’m always convinced my straight, thin hair will never look good but Heather shows me how to style it and I always leave looking phenomenal! Before Covid,y daughter and I would go to their braiding events... so much fun! I highly recommend the salon and Heather!

I want to start with the good, Emre is a kind and talented stylist I would highly recommend.Ended up going to the salon to style my hair ahead of a special occasion, I was traveling from more than 400 miles away. Less than 24 hours before my service this salon called to inform me that the stylist I was assigned with was no longer with this salon and that they could still keep my appointment however the alternative stylist was much more experienced and that I would be responsible for all of the additional costs. Given the one day notice and the fact I didn’t pack any styling equipment because I had booked this I was stuck. I find it highly unprofessional that the salon put the additional costs to me for their internal predicament.

I would like to recommend Heather at Twisted Scizzors Salon for her listening skills as well as her excellent skill in cutting hair.In the past I have told more than one stylist that I did not want my hair cut a certain way and they would cut it like that anyway. I also have had problems with stylists not being able to cut my hair the same way on my repeat visits.Heather cut my hair like I asked her to and with a cut that she replicated on my repeat visits.I am a very happy Twisted Scissors customer. Heather is the best stylist that I have been to in a very long time.

I had just moved here from Mass and was looking for a good hairdresser .I found this salon on the web site and made an appt with Meredith at 1;30 and ended up waiting 45 min .Not a very good impression with new customers .I had my roots touched and gave her the color that my old hair dresser used .Within a week started seeing grey, Needless to say I’m not going back .I paid $120 and I’m very upset .

I first booked an appointment online, as first time customer. I promptly got a phone call from the receptionist, who was friendly and helpful. Angel cut my hair to perfection! I went to Twisted Scizzors today to get a haircut. I had an appointment at noon and promptly got there at 11:58 am.First impression was a rather cold reception from the gal at the front desk. There was no effort to make a new customer feel welcomed. After doing some light paperwork I stood around for the next 15-20 minutes waiting for my hairdresser to be ready. I was in half the mind to walk because there was no effort to engage me positively on why a delay was occurring. I wish appointment times would be kept up more diligently.After that, the chair that I was about to occupy was very half-heartedly wiped down by the same receptionist lady. There was still a whole bunch of hair from the previous client on the seat. Thankfully my hairstylist Jessica was very gracious and wiped it down again.The saving grace was that my hairstylist Jessica did a great job. She listened and took direction and made sure I was happy with my haircut. I was very happy with her attention to detail and the interest she took to make sure I liked my cut.Advice to owners/management: Train front of house staff to be more pleasant and courteous and less rigid and condescending.

My hair stylist was 30 minutes late, she left bleach on my hair for too long, she got bleach on my eyebrow, she kept excusing herself to eat,she was complaining about the bleach buring her hands when she and she was very chose not to wear gloves

Amazing service! Im in love with my hair. Exactly what I wanted. They take the time to get to know you and your hair so you leave happy and regret free! Taking my 3 year old next weekend for his haircut. He is not a fan of haircuts so they have him scheduled for an hour appt so they can go slow and help him with his fear. Im amazed by the level of care and understanding. Customer for life.

Soooo... I hardly ever leave reviews, but I got a hair cut and style from the owner Amanda today; I am in love! Came in with unhappiness and an idea of what I wanted. After getting to know me and my hair, she fixed my issues and nailed it! I’ve lived in 26 places in my life, and finding a great hair salon is always a struggle. If you live in the Triangle, go no farther. I won’t be!

The end result was not impressive. The cost was 48 dll. I was happy because I wanted to look good. It is disappointing that they ruin the hair. I will have to walk down the street with this horror of cut that made me J. I took the picture of what I wanted and it looks nothing like my appearance. I would like you to ride money again. This is not a Deva Cut salon.I went in to get a Deva cut on my long hair with Ashley. I asked that I get less than an inch trim, a little shaping in the mid-section of my hair a some fringe and I have a 00s piecey bob now. The stylist was clearly not using the Deva Cut system, she pulled my hair straight in large sections and cut away.Its taken me two years to grow out an equally bad hair cut and now Im in for it again. Do not go to this salon if you want a Deva Cut.

I have quite fine curly hair that I like to keep long. I’m also going gray and am in denial so I get blonde balayage to keep the gray at bay. I get a Deva cut because of my curls. I had to have a bit taken off the length because it was dry and brittle and oh my word. I love it. I love the color, I love the cut. Linsey is a genius and I absolutely love what she’s done with my hair. Thank you!!!!

I wanted to wait until my second visit to Twisted Scissors to review it. The first cut I got there was by Robin and I think it may have been one of the best haircuts Ive ever had. After a great cut the second time I could conclude that it wasnt just a fluke and I definitely want to continue to get my hair cut by her. Her cut brings out my natural waves and curls and keeps my hair looking healthy in between visits. She also listened to my concerns and recommended a great product to fight frizz. Ive been extremely satisfied with my visits and definitely recommend Twisted Scissors.

Ester cut my hair today and did a phenomenal job. You can tell she really wants you to like your haircut and took her time cutting my hair. The attention to detail and investment in customer satisfaction was better than any experience I’ve ever had at a hair salon. The staff was very friendly/accommodating and let me book out months in advance based on my upcoming schedule. Would give Ester and Twisted Scissors 6 stars if I could. Highly recommended!!

So I made an appointment with this place hoping that they could fix a very bad haircut. The woman that I was scheduled to have the appointment with was not only honest that she was not sure how to go about fixing the bad haircut but she actually made a point to ask someone else and that person was the one to fix my haircut and teach the other girl. This place is like a family and well worth going to. it is very pretty and very clean and when you walk in you get offered beverages and there was trail mix and cookies and an extremely comfortable couch. this is not your average hair salon and I highly recommend them.

I have always had a great experience here and I’m so grateful that Amanda is offering products and care packages to help get us through until they can reopen. Their stylists and support staff build a relationship with you, so I look forward to seeing everyone—especially Jessica who is awesome—again soon.

This salon, particularly Alyssa, was my saving grace. The past 2 years Ive been stuck in a rut, literally--- its been madness! From work, more work, too much work, my children, routines, lunches, school work, overworked...I was beyond stressed, tense and somehow managed to make it over 2 years without a haircut (yes I said YEARS!). My hair is thick and long, and with my career I often am wearing it in an up-do, which resulted in severe migraines that woke me from my sleep! Cue the no sleep, added with stress, and my body shutting down due to overworked...yeah, I was in a rut! Not to mention, Ive scheduled appointments to have my hair cut over the past two years, but something ALWAYS happened that kept me from being able to go. Call it fate, because somehow I managed to fit this hair appointment in and I am so glad that I did. Only moments into my hair I could feel (literally) the weight being lifted. I came in for a consultation with Ashley Nicole, about getting my hair all one color, I was a box user for 30 years ! Lol! So being older I wanted to hide my gray better so Ashley came up with ideas, long story short I was nervous about getting it done because I in never had my hair professionally done, she was amazing, sweet and made me feel very relaxed about it all ! End result I love it, my husband, family and friends as wel loved it ! Highly recommend!

Yes it can be pricey but if you want cheap go costs cutters and take your chance.I know what I am paying for and my daughters hair always looks great.To the person complaining about what they qouted for her 5 yr old daughters hair, if your daughter has natural blonde hair, just use kool aid, since putting dye chemical on to a 5 yr olds hair is NOT being responsible

I am so disappointed and frustrated. I brought my daughter into this salon thinking they would be the best to help me with her hair. She has super tight curls and has never liked her hair until lately. Over the past few months she has finally started embracing her curls and wearing her hair down and feeling confident about herself. She came into the salon just looking to get the ends trimmed and possibly evening the length out a bit. She expressed to the stylist over and over she didn’t want it too short. We left and she cut so much off her hair. My daughter cried all the way home and feels unattractive again. I know it’s just hair, but her hair grows so slow and it breaks my heart to see her so upset. There is no reason the stylist should have ever cut that much off her hair. Frustrated and upset mom.

If you’re looking to go blonde please book an appointment with Morgan Stevens I was blown away! Initially I had gone to a hair stylist that rushed my highlighting job and never took the time to establish my hair color goals which ended up looking streaky. In my quest for the perfect blonde color, I decided to book Morgan who is super knowledgeable on blondes (over 8 years of experience) and did a fantastic job of lifting and toning my hair to my desired goal which was spot on! She has restored my faith in hair stylists :) I’m so glad they do an assessment appointments prior before going in and starting the process. I had my first cut there recently and couldnt be happier. The staff is fantastic as is the quality of service (Jessica was my stylist and she did an excellent job). For my part (a basic mens cut), the price is just right as well. Happily now a regular and I cant recommend them enough.

I had an appointment with this salon! Walked it and the stylist Mr.Mark was freaking out seeing my length of the hair and what I needed to be done. I told the receptionist what I wanted on my hair before I came in. Anyways by seeing him freak out..he told me straight that he won’t be able to do my hair. I was so upset because I took a half day from work. This is no professional manner at all. I have never been to a salon where the stylist says he can’t do your hair because of the length and thickness. And he had a 20 year experience in hair! Really?!. I’m would never ever recommend this salon to any of my friends. And in the end the Manager says oh “it’s good he didn’t do your hair if he isn’t comfortable”. That’s so ridiculous.

Twisted Scizzors as a business is the latter. Twisted Scizzors believes in community as well as styling hair. The team at Twisted Scizzors is personable, experienced, creative, and during this crazy Covid time...following the strictest practices to keep us and their staff safe. The owner has been cutting my hair for ~ two decades. She runs a great salon, and walks the walk - she gives back to cancer charities, contributing to her community with cut-a-thons, etc. The folks at this salon are well-trained, creative, and on the ball. My hair always looks great when I leave. And on the off chance that my style needs tweaking after my appointment, I have always been cheerfully accommodated because they want to make it right, because that is how they operate, and who they are. They are good people who know hair. Believe the positive reviews, they are spot on.

Great place for a haircut. $45 for a womens short to medium style haircut. Many talented stylists. Beautiful and comfortable salon. Caters to middle to upper class caucasian men, women, and children, though I dont think that is an intentional bias, just a locational one.

I got my hair cut with highlights added (with Renee). I had never dyed my hair before and she did a great job at explaining everything and making the highlights look subtle (as I wanted). The haircut was amazing as well! Best one I have received in a long time! Will definitely be coming back!

Love the new location, it looks beautiful! However, I do wish they told you on the phone that they changed locations so you dont accidentally go to the old spot. Also, I got a haircut from Stephanie and it was extremely average. There was nothing different or special about the way it was cut and it felt really rushed. I asked for long layers and she finished the cut really fast and asked if I was okay with it. There were barely any layers and I felt bad asking but I politely asked her to put in some more. She tried to fix it a little but it did not make much of a difference. It definitely was not worth $50 plus tip. I used to come here because I would get really good cuts that the hair dressers would put time and effort into and were definitely worth the price. But if I can get this same cut at some average chain then coming here is not worth it.

I love Twisted Scissors. The stylist are so much fun but more importantly skilled professionals. They are color magicians. Since there is so much experience in this salon the can handle all kinds of hair and requests. I started going to them because they understood the issues with curly hair and stayed with them now for almost 7 years because of their attitude and knowledge.

Amre did a great job in ten minutes, I was done no hair wash and no hair products at all. Clip and that is it.I paid almost $40.00 too expensive. $40 bucks for 10 minutes? never again. I dont have too much hair on my head anyway. It is a highway robbery. I have been in that place maybe 10 or so. every time they increased the price. Amre is great I mentioned that in my comment. However, the prices is not set by Amre, it set by you. Plus instated of being a vocal about it help your customer and keep the business

I love Renee!!! She has been doing my hair for over a year and I get so many compliments on the color and cut! She has great suggestions and has really helped get my hair back to being healthy again! I highly recommend her if you are looking for a color/cut or really looking for a new look!

I have fine curly hair and it’s hard to cut. Hannah gave me the exact cut from the photo I showed her. Plus- was was really sweet and a joy to talk to. The salon seems a little run down but the stylists are good.

Pretty place woman was nice who colored and cut my hair. But one of the worst hair cuts I’ve ever had I asked for bangs and they look so bad I cried when I got home I didn’t want to hurt her feelings as she was doing my hair I was trying not to look as how bad it was. She left color all over my forehead so even when I try to hid my bangs I have color all over my head I tried to get most of it off can’t really go work with black hair so my color looks good what have been better if my bangs didn’t look so bad and I didn’t have color all over my head

I love the new salon. Three weeks ago was my first time to go since they moved. The difference is night and day. While the stylist that cut my hair has been extremely good each time Ive seen him, the old salon always felt cluttered and cramped. The new salon is spacious, bright, inviting, and comfortable. Gone are the dark colored walls (which made the old salon feel that much more cramped), the waiting area has been moved to the front of the salon and is a nice place to sit and relax before your appointment. If you havent been singe they were on Hwy-55, give them another chance.

Very cute salon! I saw Esther, and she really took her time to get the exact cut I wanted. She did an amazing job and I walked out feeling great. Cant wait to go back.

I have been to this salon several times and had a great experience every time. Glen and Kara are both amazing stylists with years of experience and tremendous talent. I always walk out of there looking exactly how I wanted to look. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for great service at reasonable prices.

Ashley R always does a FANTASTIC job cutting my hair! After have bad experiences at other places, I decided to give this place a try. The salon has a great vibe! The prices are a little higher, but its well worth it. Ashley was sweet, very professional, and communicated well with me. As someone with anxiety, it was a blessing to feel so comfortable voicing what I wanted and liked. Ive had her twice so far and am planning on sticking with her.

Ive been here several times and always had a great experience. My appointment today was with Renee Adkins and she was great. I received full highlights and a trim. I have long and thick hair so it took several hours but Renee was extremely flexible and understanding. I even had to talk a work call in the middle and she accommodated me perfectly. I would definitely recommend Renee and the salon. Ive yet to be disappointed.

Renee did an amazing job with my hair. The color is awesome and I have gotten so many compliments! I love the cut as well - my hair is super straight but the style she gave me has movement & body. I would recommend her to anyone!!!

Ashley R. Is very detailed in her styling and cutting . She is very personable and has a fun personality who gets my style . She always cuts a little less just to make sure it doesn’t end up too short since I have naturally curly hair. She listens to the client and gives suggestions but doesn’t make you feel pressured on what she thinks would look good unless you ask her.Her edgy style and enthusiasm for hair makes my salon experience always top notch! But, don’t take my word for it, it’s already hard to get an appointment as she’s so popular !

Best hair salon in triangle! Their new location is stunning. Complementary wine and wax treatment for your hands. My haircut is perfect every time I go no matter what stylist I use. I’ve tried 6 other salons in the triangle- from Durham to North Raleigh, and this is by far my favorite and the most consistent.
