Had purchased a brooch from Joint Venture years ago but found that the small size of it made it hard for me to wear as a pin in the last few years so it was just sitting in a drawer. The team did an excellent job of converting the brooch into a pendant for me. They removed the pin on the back and added the perfect bail to the top of the piece so I can wear it on multiple types of necklaces. I have worn it more since that modification than I ever did as a brooch. I am extremely pleased with their work!

However, where this otherwise would have been a five-star review, my husband and I were talking about our friends - whom bought their engagement and wedding band from Joint Venture. My husband shared that he nearly bought mine there as well (he proposed October 2009).He said upon visiting the store, he was really connecting with the sales associate. He knew I had zero interest in a diamond ring, but instead would fall in love with something unique and sapphire. But just like the big chains stores, however, he said once he spilled the words engagement ring, a manager lady came over to help, showing him their diamond selection. He explained that I did not want diamonds, but she insisted (pushy was his word) that diamonds were the only way to go for an engagement ring.Sadly, despite the beautiful nature of the store, my (now) husband chose to walk out and do more research. Lucky for us, he found another store in the Triangle that is run by jewelry artists who worked with him and created the perfect ring. It was worth his drive to Chapel Hill to find somewhere beautiful, unique, and who would listen to him.

I went to Joint Ventures on July 9th for an estimate of how much they would charge to have my diamond pendant reset into an engagement ring for my daughter. The 3 carat diamond had been in my family for 70 years, originally worn by my father in a white gold inlaid setting. When he gave the diamond to my mother, she had it reset in a high-pronged gold ring. My mother gave the ring to me when she was 85, and I had the diamond reset into a pendant which I wore only occasionally because I considered it too dressy. I did not want to wait until I was 85 to give this treasured object of affection to my daughter. My heart sunk when I realized the center diamond was no longer part of my wedding set during a weekend getaway trip to Washington, DC. What seems to be a misfortunate situation has an amazingly happy ending. I reported our missing diamond to Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co, a claim was setup and list of jewelers they work with would be sent to me. Unknowingly, I made a call to Joint Venture that afternoon since we had purchased the ring from them and they were instrumental in us insuring the ring through Jewelers Mutual. To my surprise that same day I had dropped off the ring, selected a compatible diamond and was promised the ring would be gorgeous again. So I went into the store about a month and a half ago looking for a Mothers day gift, only to be amazed at the overall experience. Being a guy in my mid 20s, shopping and jewelry are not really my areas of expertise, and it must have been painfully aware to the girl helping me. One of the sales girls came over and Introduced herself to me, and walked me through the entire store, all while asking questions about who I was shopping for, what exactly I had in mind, and overall what my budget was. After being in the store for under an hour, I walked away with something that I was sure would be an amazing gift, and more than anything I felt confident that I had bought something which I was happy with. Ive come to the conclusion that I will come to this store for my all my Jewelry needs in the future. Most importantly, they treated a young guy who obviously had no idea what he was doing as a valuable customer.

You know I am a thorough person and before I made the decisionto pick you and Joint Venture, I checked with jewelry shops inSouthern Pines, Fayetteville and Raleigh that we have dealt with inthe past. We were both most comfortable with you and your shop toselect the proper settings and stones. The setting you picked for herantique European cut two carat diamond was a “home run.” Most jewelerswould have let us repair the old platinum setting.
