We just got home from an all too short stay at Pelican Cove. Our room was HUGE, the bed was insanely comfortable, and the over-sized tub was especially appreciated after our long walks along the ocean. Even without the amazing room, Pelican Cove would still get a 5 star recommendation from us. Nancy is a gem of an innkeeper and an amazing chef. She offers amazing restaurant recommendations; all the paraphernalia you might need for a day at the beach; and cooks you the most amazing breakfasts daily. It was our first time at Pelican Inn but definitely not our last.

My wife, 10 month old daughter, and I stayed here for a week and it was AWESOME. The owners are really amazing hosts in every respect. This place was clean, affordable, and comes with really good breakfast and coffee every morning. If you need a place to crash in Carlsbad this is an excellent choice especially as things around the village become more and more expensive every year. This place is worth the money for sure!Thank you so much Nancy for all your help and delicious meals!

Perfect location. Beautiful spotlessly clean rooms with incredibly comfortable beds. Lovely hosts that make you feel welcome and at home. Thoughtful extras and delicious breakfasts add to the enjoyment of this charming bed and breakfast!

Lovely room. Location was perfect - 2 blocks to ocean, 3 blocks to town. Breakfast each morning was phenomenal! And an added bonus was fresh baked treats in the afternoon. The host puts her heart into caring for her guests.(She had backpack-type beach chairs for us to borrow too!)

This place was fantastic! I stayed here this past weekend and had a great time. Nancy was extremely helpful and friendly, and the rooms were very clean, cozy, and comfortable. Breakfast was included and it was delicious and filling. They also have beach chairs, beach toys, and beach towels that guests can use. And best of all, there was plenty of parking and just a two block walk to the beach! I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone going to Carlsbad for a little getaway.

Wow! All the usual places were booked and too pricey so I found this and it was perfect. Been traveling up and down the state for over a week and this was the best night sleep I had on the feather bed. Quiet, roof patio and a spectacular home made breakfast. 5 mins walking distance to Carlsbad Village and the ocean. Look no further.

Wow! Only a few blocks from the beach and restaurants. We rented an electric vehicle and didnt have to worry about a plug in, as this place has a charging station. The food was superb, and Nancy was a very gracious hostess. I will definitely be staying here any time I come back to Carlsbad.

This was a great experience and great place to stay. Felt like home. The care and attention was awesome. So were the fresh baked cookies. I’d like to come back here again soon!

Always a great time. Good food, good company. Its more like you are visiting family then going to a hotel. Never had any problems besides the fact I dont ever want to leave. This is a wonderful B & B due to the owner Nancy, who once you meet her youll always want her in your life. Also, GREAT FOOD and COOKIES!!!!

Nancy is the one who runs and owns the place is awesome. Rooms are super comfortable and can have multiple people in them. Breakfast is amazing, and is part of the stay in the morning. Definitely suggest!

Feather Down comfort, Cozy Quiet, very peaceful, ms. pelican is the sweetest lady who has a big beautiful heart and smile to match it. this place also has plenty of romantic snuggle spots. highly recommend the breakfast that love is put into.

Oh my goodness....first time here...and we were not disappointed....from the moment we arrived we were greeted by Nancy with a happy anniversary...we ordered online with our reservation, a picnic lunch which was so deelish...and brought to our room which we enjoyed in front of the fire place in our room the La Jolla, which is overlooking the street but with lovely palm trees in front...with several windows to enjoy the view...Our room was so charming with vintage vibes...the online pics dont do it justice...We had everything we needed and Nancy made sure if we needed anything we could just ask...our breakfast was also deelish and we ate that on the top deck which was perfect. The beach & shops are all within walking distance. Everything was super clean and comfy...even the carpet is so nice to walk on...lol. Please just go and experience a home away from home. Thank you Nancy....will definitely see you again. Xo🥰

As soon as you open the door you’re overtaken by the tall ceilings and exquisite decor! The bathroom is beautiful and very clean (also has incredible amenities). The bed is AMAZING! Memory foam mattress topper, huge comforter, and plush pillows! They’re making it so hard for me to get out of the bed!! The views are lovely and the panoramic windows really grab your attention. The carpet is insanely soft, it’s like walking on a cloud. 10/10

Nancy is a goddess! We come to pelican cove every year and its so relaxing. She treats us like old friends and her food is amazing! We will never stay anywhere else. 💗💗💗

If anyone ever wrote less than a perfect review for this amazing bed and breakfast, something is sincerely wring with them. Me and my lady friend stood there for 3 nights with only the intention of 2. We were traveling for work/study/ and a mini getaway. There is so many perks to this wonderful home, from the instant patio views; to the beds that feel like clouds. From the world class service, to the most wonderful breakfast you will ever have at any hotel, motel, air b n b, hostel, bred and breakfast, etc. The world needs more Nancy’s and Pelican Coves in it 🥁 ❤️Also the one of the funnest parts is the autobiographical journals in each room. Definitely recommend reading some of the story’s and maybe leaving your own.If I could give more stars I wouldAaron 👍

We had an amazing time! My fiance & I came here for a few days to relax & unwind before a work-week in San Diego for him & I go back to Berkeley and prepare for our own guests. The breakfasts were amazing- I cannot have dairy/milk/cheese & they were so accommodating & made our amazing special breakfasts & had non-dairy creamer on hand. This is such a wonderful relief & touch not to have to worry & have to ask a million questions at a meal! Thank you Nancy!! The puppies were super sweet. :) This was such a great getaway for us- definitely a recharging weekend. We needed it! The beach towels, chairs & umbrella were awesome & Kyle had a lot of fun trying to figure out the Boogie Board. It was great fun to watch. This was my 1st time ever to be able to play in the ocean & I enjoyed every moment of it. Thank you Nancy & Pelican Cove for making this amazing weekend possible & that much more special and relaxing.

Great B and B close to beach and downtown Carlsbad. Charming rooms, Karen/owner is a fabulous cook and takes excellent care of her guests. We stayed for our anniversary! Perfect! Very reasonably priced. Note: Ocean breeze cools off Carlsbad even during hottest part of summer. Downtown is hoping with local musicians and fantastic food late into the summer evening. Highly recommend Pelican Cove.

If you like the idea of bed & breakfast, I think this one knocks the socks off the competition. Your hostess is a creative cook and the breakfasts are always wonderful. The rooms are well kept and very comfortable.

Room was large spacious and very clean. Host was fabulous. Although the lack of air conditioning was quite annoying in the afternoon and early evening. It was to warm for comfort for the midwesterner

We love this inn and the joyful energy of the innkeepers here makes you want to move in. One of the many fun surprises were the European duvets, some fluffed so high you wish you could think of an excuses as a grown woman to jump on the bed. Theres a fire-pit at the back of the inn and we planned to hang out there in the evening so they immediately brought firewood. We wanted to watch an old DVD we 3 girlfriends brought with us and they immediately hooked up a player. We wanted a casual dinner and they knew just the place. Its definitely fun to be spoiled and Nancy and her team are world-class innkeepers.

This was an amazing getaway. It was very relaxing and the atmosphere was very peaceful. Nancy breakfast was wonderful and the room was perfect. This was exactly what we needed away from the hustle and bustle. Being able to walk down to the beach and watch the most amazing sunset either of us have seen before was what we needed.Thank you so much.

This bed and breakfast is amazing! The room is very spacious, the interior is really well done, and feels like home. The owner actually made us all breakfast each morning, and each morning it was something different and unique. Probably one of the best places Ive ever stayed.

My wife and I live only about 35 miles from here in Valley Center and tried the Pelican Cove Inn for the first time as a Valentines weekend in Carlsbad Village. We were very impressed with the very warm welcome and comfortable room. Breakfast in the morning could not have been any better. All the amenities of the village were in easy walking distance and we had a wonderful weekend. The Pelican Cove is like visiting home and being taken care of like family! Going to a standard hotel just doesnt have the same appeal after our stay here. Congratulations to Nancy for managing her Inn so well for the last 23 years!

We had a great stay here! Our room was large and comfortable, the owner was very friendly, and breakfast was delicious. It is a short walk to the beach and the main drag in Carlsbad. My only complaint is that there didnt appear to be air conditioning in the room, so it was a bit warm at night even with the windows open.

This was our second stay at Pelican Cove Inn. Our son and his family accompanied us this time, with the grandkids. The Inn is at an ideal location... walking distance (even for a five year-old) to the beach, fish house, microbrewery/pizza, taco shop, ice cream, shops and only 5-10 minutes from Lego Land by car. A very convenient amenity is the Inn has everything needed for a day at the beach... umbrellas, chairs, body boards, and even sand toys for the little ones. The beach is what youd expect for an enjoyable time with the kids... gentle waves, sand, and has bathrooms and outdoor shower. We enjoyed the spacious Santa Barbara room, and an evening on the upper deck with the family and a bottle of wine. Well be back next time we need another dose of great weather, ocean waves and hospitality at the Pelican Cove Inn.

This was a beautiful experience for us both. My husband and I were celebrating our 5 year anniversary and this room was more than we could ever had hope for. Even though we could only stay one night, because we have to go back to the evil place that holds our paychecks, it was unforgettable to say the least. We definitely plan to come back again. Having stayed one night and checked out the following day to continue our weekend travels, we decided wed like Pelican Cove so much that...we come home for a second night! We recently stayed at the Pelican Cove Bed & Breakfast as part of a reunion, and I was absolutely blown away by our time spent here. Nancy, the owner, could not have been nicer and went out of her way to make sure everyone in our group was having a great time, even humoring my toddler son’s request to see her dogs every 5 minutes. The rooms were quite comfortable, and the free WiFi was a nice little treat. Breakfast each morning went well beyond just your standard muffin and fruit – we’re talking stuffed fresh toast, egg & bacon frittatas, and more, enjoyed indoors or out on the back patio. For the beach goers, they provide beach chairs, umbrellas, beach mats, boogie boards, and more for you to borrow and take down with you to enjoy some fun in the sun. Plus you’re in walking distance from the Village too. It was a great experience, and I’ll definitely stay here again each time I come to Carlsbad.

Great bed and breakfast in Carlsbad. Been going to Carlsbad every summer but one for the last 25 years, love this beach town. Got to stay here at the Pelican Cove Inn with my wife and our 4 kids. Had 2 rooms next to each other (La Jolla and Del Mar I think). The rooms are very nice and comfy. Have a nice beach, almost antique feel to them. Comfortable beds, even the pullout in the Del Mar that our kids slept in was comfy, never seen that nice of a pullout. The La Jolla was especially nice, being a corner room with many windows, nicely decorated, with a fireplace (in both rooms) and a nice window bench. Even had a jetted tub in the bathroom of the La Jolla.Nancy, the owner-operator, is great. Her breakfasts are yummy and she is very accommodating to different diet preferences and needs. There are often cookies or other goodies in the main room to enjoy as well.The beach is only a block or so away, as well as the main part of Carlsbad with plenty of places to eat, shop, etc. Beach stuff is offered for your use (towels, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, even some sand toys).Overall a very nice place to stay. Best suited for a romantic getaway, or an older family. Worked fine for our family with young kids (8 years old down to 11 months old), but it is not a child centric place to stay.Definitely recommend Pelican Cove Inn.

We spent our 25th wedding anniversary here and are back for our 50th. Very relaxing environment. The bed is comfortable. We are staying in the La Jolla suite with so many windows which lets in beautiful light and beach air. We have had a very pleasent stay and hate to leave tomorrow. Maybe we can come back for our 75th anniversary!!

The room & accommodation were excellent the bed was one of the best Ive slept on. Hope to bring my with with me on a stay at Pelican Cove Inn.
