Totally unprofessional and unorganized place. We came for an open gym and signed up for a free class trial. The owner had no idea of studio’s schedule and clueless of anything that is going on. She gave us a trial time, which I called to double confirm because it was different from the website. Turned out it was the wrong date and time and there was no class at all, while she insisted on the phone there was. The equipment is old and dated, some even seem unsafe. The place was dirty and old. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY & TIME with this gym!
Agree with the poor reviews, especially regarding the experience of the staff and the overall disorganization of the operation. It made me super uncomfortable as a parent every time I went there. If you are a parent and live around Boston, you are blessed with choices for your kids to have enriching experiences. Why bother with a place that is second rate?
My daughter has been attending GABC for 3 years. She has also attended their summer camp. We think the staff has done a fantastic job teaching and helping our child progress with her gymnastics skills. They also provide very positive female role models for her to emulate. If you are looking for a place for your child to learn actual gymnastics this is definitely the place for you.
Cindy and her team is absolutely amazing! Highly reccomend!
I confirm the place is run by non experimented staff... I was there when the accident happened during last year show and I saw it coming - the coach had a cast on her foot, and clearly couldnt secure the girls jumps !I am guessing she just wanted to help, but definitively there is a lack of security. Again recently, I could see girls jumping and landing on their heads and obviously one girl came to the coach complaining about her neck... after a little pat on the back from the coach, she was back in line ! Ok girls at this age are flexible, but I expect more professionalism from a gym place. Definitively I dont feel reassured after those events and I wish they had a real manager with training on security for their coaches as some of them are nice and very passionate.
My daughter has been going there for a few years now and she loves it. The staff is very friendly and the instructors really care about the kids. They have really made a difference in our daughters progression with her gymnastics. I would recommend this gym to anyone that is looking for a gymnastics academy.
My son started going to the summer camp at age 5. He loves it and asks to go back every summer for 3 years now. The coaches work with him at his level and individually. My son particularly enjoys learning parkour moves.
As with all sports, your children get out what they put in. After one summer, our son had learned so much. It is a great summer camp. The staff is friendly, kind and great with the kids.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. They do not teach the children right. They are poorly organized. My daughter missed 2 classes for health reasons and when she returned she was not able to participate in the presentation. They told me that an email was sent but I never received an email. Do not put your children in this place. Now my daughter is in a gymnastic school in burlington and i am very pleased with the big difference.
I do not like this place at all they do not even watch you when you are in the gym for open gym i think tumble kids watertown is way better
I have never given 1 stars to anyone but this place would deserve negative ones. This review comes after 2 full year memberships for my 12 year old daughter. First of all the management is inexistent: front desk is constantly empty, phone line always on voicemail (messages never replied), no replies to emails. Most of the instructors are gone recently with no replacements and several kids and families were just sent home with no other notice, no word of excuse, no other options. Safety is inexistent as well: in 2 years we were never asked to buy insurance (that should be compulsory). In last years gala one of the instructors collided with a student who had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance and the show to be cancelled (with no excuse-no follow up from anybody...). I also forgot to mention that it is far from cheap (for what it is...)In one word: Stay Away! There are a lot of excellent places in Boston and Cambridge that take instruction and safety much more seriously and at more competitive prices.
The coaches seems to be inexperience, the only one that really knew what he was doing left sometime ago, they do not know how to work with kids (no pedagogy at all) and the place is clean, has free parking lot and it has a good location, however, I would never recomment this place to any of my friends.
Im giving this place 2 stars..1. The coaches for the little kids are very unprofessional, I think any teen ager who can do a round off or a cartwheel will make the cut to be their coach. The boys coach does not have control of any of his boys class, they seem like they are doing parkour and just goofing around 80% of the time.2. the class runs for an hour, They ALWAYS start late, and 30 minutes of the whole class they are on the second floor playing around on the foam pit and just doing nothing which my kid can do at home(LITTLE KIDS CLASS).3. They rarely try anything new, its been half way through the semester and my daughters been doing the same routine each time. NO PROGRESS is seen what so ever.4. I signed my daughter up for a class which only had 2 kids in it, next thing you know the coach goes missing and they mixed her class with a smaller age class, and she has not progressed at all. and until this day both classes have the same coach.DO NOT WASTE YOU PRECIOUS MONEY ON SOMETHING THATS SO OVERPRICED FOR THE POOR QUALITY OF THE COACHES.5. The gym is very clean, and it looks fairly new.. but the quality of gymnastics your little one will get, would be garbage.6. My daughters class had no coach for 3 weeks, the front desk assistants took over the class, and if i may say so it was such a waste of time even going..if the coaches cant do their job, neither will the front desk assistants with your little one.Overall experience hasnt been the best, I expected better coaching for a place like GAB, they make a good first impression, but my biggest complaint is, and will always be the coaches, the quality of the class, and the overall experience my daughters had. this will be my daughters first and last semester there, I will drive the extra 20 minutes touring her somewhere else. Another thing is while the gym is fairly big they squeeze in like 5 classes, and your little ones will get stuck either on the trampoline or the bars through-out the whole class, eventually moving them up to the 2nd floor playground to do nothing. THEY DONT PRIORITIZE LITTLE KIDS CLASS! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY IF YOU WANT YOUR KID TO REALLY LEARN!! Im sure you can find a cheaper babysitter somewhere else because thats what your paying for at GAB for little kids.
Great place, coaches are super nice and helpful
Great for kids of all ages!!
Most disorganized gymnastics center I have come across
The summer camp program is really bad. They dont care for the young kids. Some coaches are unkind to kids.
I hope this is a good place
I like to do cartwheels
What kind of things you do
