Thrifty consolidates with other agencies in evening so it was unfortunately chaotic. Waited an hour though hardly busy. Never got a car as they appeared to be way oversold. Employees were not using masks when going in and out of three vehicles they did get out in the hour. A few pretended to throw on as they left - disappointing.Follow up - I was still charged for the car even though I never got one. Was told I wouldnt be charged. Ridiculous.
Bobbye at the Hertz office, which presently runs all of the Thrifty rentals, is wonderful. Shes attentive, humorous, and kind. Just an excellent person. Ive rented from them twice in the last two months and she was simply wonderful each time.
Gave told me I could get an suv. When I showed up, they told me no to the suv, and brought out a sedan due to having a debit card.
I wish I could rate this Thrifty location lower. My partner and I were having mechanical issues with our vehicle we got from the LAX location and that place was great, however beware of the one at Burbank. First off, we explained the situation to one employees who told us we had to either pay them to fill the gas tank or go fill it up ourselves! She was not helpful at all as she stood and did nothing. Hilarious since we had called the customer service number prior which they said to not worry about it because it was an issue with the vehicle. So then we are waiting to speak to I guess someone higher up who seemed bored and uninterested in helping as well. It was almost like we were an inconvenience. To top it off we pretty much got downgraded from a small SUV that had a navigation system in exchange for an older model. Way to go customer service 🙄 Will not be going to this location ever in the future.
1. We paid $130 to reserve an SUV. when I arrived they did not have the car ready said and tiwould be a 20+ minute wait. thats $130 down the drain. They gave me a truck instead.2. I mistakenly forgot to refuel for a half tank of gas. Apparently they charge $9.75 per gallon to refuel. Another $97 down the drain.Just avoid this place. Not a good group of people.
The staff at Bob Hope Airport were great. I had an 85 mile nail biting drive through Burbank rush hour traffic and I think they knew that. They brought the car up to the booth and made the transaction very quickly. Car was fine for the purpose but I cant say enough about the Thrifty staff.
I was a little skeptical renting from Thrifty, my biggest concern was that I read reports of a bad return experience (go up and wait in the check out line). That was not the case; an employer was there to check in cars as they drove up. Docked one star because the employee that helped me check out my car got me sick, which put a big damper on my trip...
A little crazy at the LAX airport for pick up, but a whole other world at Burbank. They told me I had unlimited gas included and they charge me at the last minute. No good. 👎
I will never use thrifty again. They would not honor our booked rate the next day despite three calls to various managers. We were late getting to pick up car due to flight delay from sea to Burbank and called to let them know. They said someone would be there and if not to call this number. No one was there when we arrived. We called the number and they couldnt help so we had to get a hotel and come back the next day to find out they wouldnt honor rate and would now charge more than double.
Ordered midsize rental car thru Hotwire to p/u at noon. Arrived to be offered Versa or Versa baby. The Versa has this God awful smell that turns out to be some type of organic spray to hide the cigarette smoke. A Jetta arrived approx. 1/2 hr later; wet. Opened the door and the over spray of the smoke hider was so strong that my friend and I began coughing. My lungs filled up so quickly that I began vomiting. Luckily I had my inhaler with me. The robotic clerk told us they had no other cars. Not true. Did not call a manager. She did run the heater in the car for approx. one hour to rid the smell. The smell was less but had to ride with all windows open. Left windows opened in garage approx. 20 hrs. Opened the trunk and the back door. Overwhelmed with smell of cigarettes and the air freshener. Shame on Thrifty for charging up to $400 to people who smoke in their cars, yet keeping those cars in their fleet. Unfortunately for me, could not get refund from Hotwire so that I could use my funds for a more SAFE and REPUTABLE rental car agency. More to come. Had to use inhaler, Benadryl, zyrtec and ibuprofen to get a little comfort. Lungs still full. Stuck with car for 7 days.
Great prices with huge collection

Excellent car rental company in the USA, I highly recommend it, I had a problem with vehicle vandalism in San Francisco, and I was very well attended, leaving soon after with another vehicle with a full tank. And I followed the journey.
