This is such a lovely place near where I live. One of my go to courses and a great clubhouse restaurant to hang out in after. What I love is that even in the summer, theres plenty of cool shade to go around in these tall forest trees up in the nice burbank hills. Also the views of the movie studios and the valley are impeccable. For you golf players, its a fun course and it plays pretty short so its not too hard. Just stay away from big trees and youll be ok. Theres a blind hole there thats down a hill covered by rocks, so by the green theres a big bell you ring to let the other group know its safe to hit! Hence then name- De 🔔 Bell. The bar upstairs from the clubhouse has great food and cocktails. A good place to hang your hat after a long game.
On the plus side, condition is good, pace of play was good, interesting greens in good shapeon the other hand, most holes can only be played with one very specific selection of shots and youll be hitting 7 iron off the tee on many par 4s
I really enjoy this course. The fairways are wide and you really get to use your driver. It can get pretty booked up quickly so book well in advance.(one week allowed). The course itself is gorgeous. Sometimes you will see deer, fox’s and bunnies. Highly recommend. Cart is preferred because it is a big course. Good course for beginners as well. Not too many sand dunes.
Great course. Picturesque with lots of slope. Fun to to play.
I’ve noticed lately that no Marshall’s are to be seen on the course to correct bad behavior by new golfers and those that disrespect golf etiquette. Allowing bad behavior to occur ruins it for all. Today I noticed people driving their carts in sand traps, one group brought their own ice chest filled with alcohol and used profanity when asked to be respectful of others ahead of them. No “Fore” is called when errant balls are hit. Much bad behavior could be corrected if Marshall’s were around and imposed penalties. We shouldn’t have to confront others when they misbehave on the course, but we are forced to do it.
Very well maintained course. Tight and not very straight. Next to castaways.
Pace is good(maybe because its weekday?)green is good(but too small almost^^;)there are too many divot on the tee box.and many dust at the cart road(many part not being covered wz concret)p.s the burger of snack bar hill top was great!!
Loved the course, challenging, some spots are narrow, place your shots appropriately so your second shot will be into the green ... it worked me over in round 1, but I’m ready for round 2 (((ding)))
Really? Co-Ed bathrooms? Not cool at all. Course is nice.
I had fun taking my DeBell Golf Club out here. My son is it was a perfect laser tag place for him. They also have DeBell Golf Club.
DeBells 18 hole course conditions are the best they have been in years. Noticiable changes on the fairways and greens, and some good sand in the bunkers now. My wish list would be some additional yardage markers along the fairways as they are hard to spot in the ground on some holes. The driving range could use a little spruce up and their 9 hole Par 3 Course has major potential to be something great (hopefully some day but unplayable at the moment). Overall I would say that DeBell has really stepped up their game big time and it shows.
Nice greens. Pace of play is average.
Tough course, I walked which added to my rough play and fatigue.
Tricky. Takes the driver out of your hands. Good challenge.
Like to go practice at the range or play a round of golf and then sit in the clubhouse and have some lunch, watch the wild life and the golfers. Total relaxation with some exercise.
Clean golf course with restrooms and lots of nature.
Cant beat the course for the price. Just be careful, there are a lot of trees that make this course a challenge!
One of my fav courses? Love love...
Feels like a country club and very reasonably priced!
What a fun round! DeBell delivered with value(Golfnow) greens and staff were great. Fairways although tough for me to stay on were so so. Pace of play WOW... tee off at 11:30am completed course at 3:35pm. Many tee boxes need work but overall golfing experience was pleasant and plan on playing this corse again soon.
Absolutely beautiful Ambience, deer running around and golfers playing and delicious food!
Course is in good shape, but the greens havent recovered yet from aerating.
Beautiful...saw a some reindeer and it was beautiful to get the chance to enjoy real wild life
Beautiful course. Good staff. You’ll learn how to hit the ball in the right direction, Or lose your balls. They have golf instructors. Play On.
Enjoyed playing here! Met some great locals. Will def be back!
Up the hill, good air quality. Very quiet place. Good view of golf course. Love the outdoor seating area.Nice happy hour menu. Good sports bar too.The Parking: Street parking and adjacent parking lot for the recreation park (Free)
Fantastic course. NOT easy. Challenging course with quite a few par 4/5’s with big bends so your irons have to be solid. Fast putting greens, not a lot of chance for driver but honestly I like it because it’s HARD
Nice and chill
This is by far the best golf course in LA. It is a hidden gem, a genuine diamond in the rough.... the rolling hills, the mountain view and the wildlife just adds to the charm. This place is where I want to play for the rest of my life! The club house is warm and inviting and the food is excellent.
Excellent sarvis
Pick-up a loaf of garlic bread or two on your way home you won’t be sorry....
Nice course to play in the evenings, very crowded at the moment due to covid
The views and clubhouse are nice but thats about it.
Could call DeBell my home course. Staff is respectful and atmosphere is welcoming. Laid back, beautiful course. Hope their low price lasts forever and hope they have a bright future.
Challenging short course. Youll have to be able to hit them straight to score. Lots of elevation changes give you some scenic holes. Be prepared to lose a few balls and also see a few deer. I really like this place. Even the clubhouse is great.
You will hit every club in your bag and you will have to hit it with accuracy if you want to score. Ive seen scratch golfers shoot 80 on this course because theyre used to bombing their drivers and hitting SW or PW at the other tracks in town. Not here. Greens and fairways are in great shape thanks to reclaimed water usage. The loss of some trees due to the drought has taken some of the character from a few holes but if you play in the late afternoon youll be treated to a beautiful setting.
DeBell is a great little golf course...very challenging and is usually in pretty good shape. The greens are tricky and because of the nature of the terrain, the course gives you many kinds of shots. Lots of fun.
The staff is always helpful an friendly. I go out of my way to play there . At Simi hills golf course near where I live they dont seem to care if i play there or not. De Bell personnel seem to care and like there jobs. Much more enjoyable atmosphere.
This was the second disc golf location I checked out in my area. While the course was very clean, its not free to play... guess thats how they afford the up keep. Not to mention its a short course. I think it was only 9 baskets.I liked being able to throw long shots but the first hole/baskets drop off was crazy!Warning: Park at your own risk because people are playing actual golf with golf balls nearby!
Decided to go golfing at DeBell golf course today. It was not raining. I was a single and there were very few golfers today because of the overcast. I finished the first hole and it started to rain. Pretty amazing since we are in the worse drought in California history. I waited it out but the rain never let up. After playing one hole and waiting 25 minutes I decided to go back to the club house and ask for a RAIN CHECK. You would think the perfect time to ask for one in sunny southern California. The boy behind the desk was actually speaking on the phone to the director of operations at the time of my request for a raincheck. They denied me. They said they couldnt give a refund to everyone who asked for it. Yes that is what he said. What? First of all I asked for a rain check not a refund. And yes Mr. Big shot director of operations you actually can give rain checks to EVERYONE WHO ASKS FOR one without it effecting your bottom line BECAUSE IT NEVER EVER RAINS in sunny southern California. KIND OF THE REASON YOUR GOLF COURSE LOOKS LIKE CRAP BECAUSE THERE IS NOT ENOUGH RAIN TO KEEP THE GRASS GREEN. California is a wonderful state minus all the morons.
Its not a great course by any stretch, but you get what you pay for with Golf. The fairway conditions are not great, it can be slow, and the service is spotty. It also has a unique layout that will keep your driver in your bag for much of the game. Many holes are very short with sharp dog legs that require lay-ups. So if these things bother you, stay away. On the other hand, if you are in Glendale/Burbank, and looking for a decent game without spending $100 up at Angeles National, its a good option. I think it a fun, interesting track and you get what you pay for.
I play the course for the first time over Thanksgiving 2012 and we (my son and friends) had a great afternoon of golf. The course is challenging, very narrow and intriguing. You get to use your 3 and 5 woods more often and the hybrids were very active. We saw a lot of very big deer, and bucks with many points Also there were 2 coyotes above us on a ledge walking along. Back to the golf, it will test your skills and having not played it, it tested our logistics. We pared a few, birdied one or two and doubled and tripled some as well. All in all a fine day of golf and if you check on line, you can get a really nice price and that makes the golf experience that much more enjoyable. The course was in very good shape and the cart ran like a little Cooper!
Interesting layout with some tiny greens. Target practice.
Nice, good value course (with some dodgy patches on greens) Id play again. Wasnt too slow for a Saturday. Staff are a bit off though, bar woman seems like she hates the place.
Staff was friendly, course was in great shape. Played right behind their mens club tournament and the pace of play was fine.
Great course !!! challenging with amazing views
One of the worst golf course I am a play in 30 years. The Teebox is bad the fairway is bad.
Friendly employees, great golf course, if you come to la area try this track.I Did and liked it!
Best golfing deal in all of LA. $15 with cart after 2:30 daily!
Many of folks have used foot, and hand wedges on this course.Monitor your golf partners closely - this will be a tough round.
Great golf course with fair rates. Conditions have been consistently good in my experience.
Very tight and difficult course. A lot of course management and target golf. This is no forgiving course. Playing smart golf, rather than hammering away. Look out for DeTrees!!
Debell is such a good golf course and also a tricky one.I tried the Junior tour and masters and the tournaments are fun and the coaches are nice
Nice coarse and reasonable $. Great staff and a new beautiful clubhouse.
Great course for managing your irons. Dont need the big woods, but you have to shape your shots.
Challenging courseon the front and opens up at the back. Would be awesome if the bunkers actually had sand in them instead of dirt.
It is a difficult course with several dog legs, hills and a few valleys. We started on time and it moved at a good pace. Play was about 4.5 hours.
Best people, staff, and club house restaurant in the valley !This is a shot makers course.
Challenging mountain course. I need to come again. The diving range isnt too big.
Castaway was closed. I liked it my 1st time there.
❤ beatifull view
Very fun course, at an affordable rate. Holes 10, 11, and 12 are worth the price of admission.
Nice views. Lots of elevation changes. Target golf.
Its a nice place to relax and play a round of golf.
Nice location, nice view, food 😋 ok...
Not a fun course to play at all. Super short, can barely hit driver on the front 9.
Great golf
Nice course with dears on the fairways.
* Golf Driving range BAD SERVICE* You may want to GUESS if they are still open when you want to go to the driving range. Ive been here three times around 6 o’clock, and every time I come, its closed. They’re closing up at a very random time but the operation hours at the office showed us it is closed at 10pm.LAZY STUFFS!
Great course in great shape.
One of the best public courses in LA
Some groups have five people. Spent more than three hours for nine holes.
Not for beginners. Keep the driver in the bag and bring plenty of balls.
Lovely golf course
Nice course.
Great food.. what a view..!!!!
Wonderful
Plenty of short holes
Course distance is short, but you can play golf
The price is good and the course is also pretty.
