Passing by and had to hit the gym and this is where i ended up. This place is spacious and clean. I only went for the basketball court but they have 2 levels of workout equipment, a pool, a hot tub, and locker rooms with showers and lockers of course. Nice staff and nice area and will definitely have another hoop session in there again if im in the area for sure.

I like to come to the gym every day for my health, and I met some fitness enthusiasts here.

It’s often busy, but has everything you would need. A couple more squat racks would be an amazing addition to the three that already exist here. Not much of a complain, but having more racks would be if convenience.

Great staff that start you off with a good vibe. As you walk in that positive energy follows you through the entire place! The set up is great, clean and spaced out enough to give you your own zone most of the time. Love this place!

My experience at this LA Fitness has completely exceeded my expectations. I’ve never joined a large gym bc I thought I would feel lost. From day one, I have been welcomed by the staff and greeted by name by some of the team. When contemplating personal training sessions, they walked through the process from nutrition to proper exercise to achieve my goals. After the physical assessment, I was on my way... a little scared but determined to do this for myself. I felt like I had the proper help I needed. My strength trainer, Johnathan, has been amazing!!!! He holds me accountable to my strength training plan and my nutrition plan. I feel like he is knowledgeable and hears what I have to say when I share my next goal. He challenges me & believes in me and that is so encouraging. In one year, my body weight has decreased from 28% to 16% by training 2 days a week and implementing other cardio and core exercises based on his recommendations. With this affiliation, I am reaching my goals - becoming stronger and more defined and more confident. I am so happy I joined and have been working with these great people at LA Fitness.

I’m a new member at this gym and they seem like the really don’t care if people clean Machines after use. I watch people use the equipment get up and don’t attempt to clean off. With COVID-19 I think that management should do a much better job with pressing the issue of cleaning the gym

While reading others reviews about this place, im trying to understand where all this bad reviews are coming from and Id been looking at everything with a magnifying glass for the las three weeks, and it puzzles me why..? I mean why? The place have everything you need for a absolute complete workout. I mean everything. Even a hot sauna and a beautiful swimming pool. Everywhere i look is clean, spacious, and organized. The showers are always neat and full of shampoo/soap the pool is pristine (they just finished remodeling it btw) people are reviewing this place like is supposed to be a fashion show cat walking competition...but guess what... It is a GYM and people go to the gym to work out, not to show your latest outfits and earphones. And let me clearfy, i do not work for this place, neither i know anyone here. But this place, from my perspective is very nice, up to date, clean and huge, and the monthly fee is very affordable. Big thumbs up, i love working out here.

I had a great experience at this location. Looking for a place to enjoy workouts and basketball with people that like happy healthy living. The staff were very kind and helpful, the facility was clean and spacious with tons of different mediums to work out with. Basketball court was awesome, there is Wally ball and swimming as well. I was thoroughly impressed with the overall vibe of laid back cool. There is a childcare room for the parents of young ones that is well constructed and inviting. The locker rooms were super nice and comfortable. Im glad I gravitated toward la fitness today. Vibe to me is everything. Thanks for the fun

Very friendly on the phone. Just have me then information I wanted and needed without trying to sell me or con me to come in. That there makes it hard to say no...... So I wont .

The gym equipment is basically all worn down, by just looking at the sauna you can tell it doesn’t get much maintenance if any at all, and worst of all I decided to go to the pool once and came out with a bacterial infection on my foot leading me to believe they don’t even clean that. It’s honestly a shame to see how low the gym has hit. It use to be the go to place.

I was invited by a member of LA Fitness today 3/10/2021 and was turned away by the bald light skin, slim guy who was working the front desk at approximately 1220ish 1230ish hours. She expressed under her membership she is allowed to bring a guest, he refused and stated we do not to that here. He also informed us that if I wanted to come in it would be a $15 charge. My friend and I visited the website to read up on what the gym offers and surely free guest pass for those who have memberships with LA FITNESS....why was this? His whole energy made me feel as if he was lying about the offers LA FITNESS advertised on the website.

Their equipment are nice. Variety is plenty too.

The facilities are underdeveloped compared to other branches. The chairs in the spa look awful rusty.I hope the shower is clean, but someones long hair is always filled with sewers in each shower booth, making it dirty. Sometimes there is trash.

This location has been around for over a decade and for good reason. Great equipment especially the hammer strength machines. Definitely a lifters gym as the people who workout here take fitness serious and work hard to achieve their goals

I just signed up for a membership a month ago and I’m already cancelling. Terrible customer service. The manager by the name of “Van” made my brother sign up for a membership after I made a call to make sure my brother was able to use his 2 weeks free membership they offered to each one of my family members after I signed up. Just straight up grimey.

Great clean facility but not a management present and the front desk sometimes is headphones in just scanning away. Just not the normal LA fitness professional vibe.

The gym itself is in good, decent condition. The new night staff, on the other hand, are very rude, especially over the intercom. They blast over the intercom that the gym is closing every 5 minutes 30 minutes before it even closes. They lock the doors so no one can come in, and they spray all the equipment so no one can use it anymore. Wasnt I paying for a full membership and not a partial one? Sorry about the rant but they need to chill

Getting back into that gym life . Starting from the ground up and I needed questions answered and proper direction in terms of what my longterm goals are and the benefits of going to LA fitness . Ken, a manager at the facility at Buford Mall of Ga. L.A. fitness answered all my questions and concerns and with no pressure whatsoever . So I signed up that day ! Thank you Ken for your time and patience .

I would give this location 5 stars, bc overall it’s kept clean. Sometimes machines are down but from what I’ve seen they repair them fairly quickly. My 3 stars come from them STILL not opening the kids club. And the rude manager too. He was disrespectful until I called him out on it, then he tried to back track.

Been a member for the past 5 years.Brought a friend with a guest pass and dude at the front said we couldnt use the guest pass to use the basketball court. Uhhh what difference does that make? SMH.

Having been a gym owner in the past, its clearly an employee issue. Weekends the locker rooms are nasty.(have they EVER steam cleaned the floors?!?) No paper towels or soap at the sinks. Machines are nasty. Employees are nice, but too busy hitting on the girls working out there trying to get their next trophy.

So I was a new member they charge me my first and Second month in avance running on my third month they said that I need to pay additional $49.99 anual feed for maintenance and equipment which I think is rip off and I was not too happy about it talk to customer service and they said either pay my $49.99 or they was going to send me to collections So bad experience dealing with AL fitness :( be careful guys want to sign in

Staff does not wear masks at front desk. When asked why they laugh it off. Its a pandemic and people can and are getting COVID. Contradictory to the announcement that plays asking members to wear their mask and temp screening at entrance. Seems like safety is not the priority at this location

Great gym. I go because they have great amenities. Pool, sauna and hot tub. Not all gyms have these so its nice to have a place to go for this.

Love the Classes

Ive been coming to LA Fitness since 2012, took a hiatus from 13 to 16 but its a long story but anyway, its always had nice friendly customer service, the trainer staff are helpful and friendly, the basketball court is nice, pool and restrooms are clean, overall for 29.99 a month its a great gym I love it and the staff.

Does Georgia not have mask rules anymore? I travel the country as a truck driver and havent had an experience yet where less people are wearing masks. Literally everyone in the gym doesnt have a mask on. Am I missing something?

Staff is as good as it gets. Caring attentive and always friendly. Facility is spotless. Shower and bathroom areas never messy, staff is often seen mopping and wiping things down. Impressive.Machines are well maintained. If there is a better fitness facility in town I would want to argue with you on that point... this has to be the absolute best there is...thanks.

I have not been at LA fitness since I actually have had covid. I was attending personal training every day from Nov-March, paying a lot of money to this company. I was told to freeze my account, but still pay for training 160 a month as those hours run over. What they did not tell me is that my contract that ends in Dec for training would double bill me or I would lose all my hours in 30 days of canceling, so I am suppose to use all the hours I paid for the 8 months of workouts in 30 days. This company is a scam, if Lexie was here this would not have happened. The people that work there are uneducated, just there for a paycheck and could care less if you show up to workout with covid. I asked for a manager and no one ever called back.

Very clean facility. Tons of equipment. I tend to go right when they open up and I pretty much have my choice of whatever I want to do. Plenty of cardio equipment, good selection of free weights and strength training, and friendly staff.

I was able to work out while still maintaining more than 6 feet social distancing

LaFitness has decided that even in a global pandemic they are going to bill peoples account and take money from them, even though they are not going to the gym. They have also decided to charge you a termination fee when you try to cancel said membership so that you dont continue to get billed. Clearly this company knows that the covid-19 numbers in Georgia re increasing and people with asthma should not be in gyms, or people without asthma. They should understand that people should not be out unless they are taking care of essential business but this company does not care. They are still charging me $34.99 even though I havent been in the gym since probably March and now that I am trying to cancel, they are charging me a fee just to cancel this membership. This company is trash and I wont be going back. In a global pandemic when thousands of people have died, they shouldnt expect people to come back to their dirty gyms!

I’ve been going to this gym for 5 years. It has gone way down hill. There’s typically nobody at the front desk, so anybody could walk in, with or without a membership. The basketball court has to be the dirtiest indoor court I’ve ever seen. I tried to find out who the manager is, to no avail. I will be canceling my membership soon, if some things aren’t turned around.

I had a personal trainer at this location and was loving my sessions with her before Covid-19. Once Covid-19 happened and the gym shut down I decided for my safety and the safety of my young son it was not safe for me to continue my personal training sessions. I called the gym the after they reopened and was informed I would need to speak to Miles Taylor to cancel my training. I have been leaving messages with the gym and on Miles voicemail since the beginning of June has he has still not returned my call. The gym did of course charge my card for the training this month. I am beyond frustrated with this gym and the lack of customer service during these uncertain times. I even called the corporate office for La Fitness and was told that I had to speak to the location directly. So frustrated with this entire gym franchise.... STAY AWAY... They dont care about you or your situation during Covid-19... They just want your $$$....

On top of charging you for non-use, you can only cancel your membership by mailing a form or coming in in person. Reality check - you are not a $1000/month software subscription service that should require these steps, taking more of your customers valuable time. Thanks LAFitness for wasting more of our time (and indirectly money).I will strongly consider ease of sign-up / cancellation for my next gym membership. Everyone reading this should too (unless you think your time is worthless).

Clean and not crowded.

As long as you go during a non lunch or after work time you can pretty much get to any machine or bench you need. This location has a pool, hot tub, showers and of course lockers. They have day care and personal trainers. They offer classes that you can go to if you are looking for a quick and easy way to work out.

Locker room is usually a pig pen. Other L A Fitness clubs I have visited have been much cleaner. Workout floor is okay.

Equipment is usually well maintained. Great group fitness classes, especially Step Aerobics with Lesa. Can be crowded during peak hours on weeknights. Ive been a member for over 2 years and have no plans to go elsewhere.

Honestly, I like the gym. Its never too too crowded. I do wonder about the lack of variety of cardio machines...they have machines in the VIP area that are not on the floor. I think the classes are great. The crowd is friendly. Childcare staff is friendly and my child loves going. The staff arent overly welcoming but certainly not rude or apathetic. My only real complaint is the shower and bathroom area. It is always dirty. Like dirty like theme park dirty and it doesnt matter the time of day. I hate when I forget to use the bathroom before I come. Other than that I would rate this location higher.

The gym is like an other LA fitness visually. A lot of machines and weights.However. By far the worst la fitness Ive been to.I get to the gym at 5 AM for opening. More than half the dumbbells are scattered around the gym. Most of the machines have weights on them not taking off and reracked. Paper towel all over the place. Left on the machines, on the benches, on the floor. Empty water bottles and Gatorade bottles have fall over most of the workout area. Went to the gym on Tuesday and the same 1 gallon water bottle was on the side of the dumbbells and today is Friday. People at the front desk has zero personality and are not friendly. I mentioned to them perhaps putting up signs for people to re-rack the weights and they told me there are signs all over. I looked around I have not seen one sign.I really dont care about them not being personable. But at least do your job get on the people to clean up and re-rack their weights. And if youre not going to do that it is management responsibility to re-rack.After frustration out about two weeks of this I have made three calls to the front desk. Each time I was told that they will have a manager get back to me. Rachel. The third time they told me they are personally putting it on her desk with a note with my name and number. I have never received a callback.Bottom line: are you still live in New Jersey and now I am in Georgia. Things are a lot less convenient. I wouldve left this gym in a heartbeat if I was back home and just went to a competing gym. Most likely New York sports club. But options here are very limited.So the best I guess I can do is leave this review. If you have an LA fitness closer to you or a nicer gym I suggest you use it.

Overall pretty nice. Not our home gym but we were here in Georgia and wanted to work out. Employees were nice and clean facilities during our two visits.

On par with most LA Fitnesses in greater Atlanta. For some reason, busier than most during the midday hours though. Only LA Fitness where I have to wait for benches and squat racks during the 1pm hour. The pool seems to be full of older members clogging up the lanes. Basketball court always has at least a half-court game running. Good amount of veteran lifters who practice good gym etiquette.Wish bathrooms were kept up better but hardly the worst I’ve seen in Atlanta.

Pleeaassseeee...for the love of God people, turn on the air conditioning!!! Its 95 degrees outside. It is too hot in this gym, especially upstairs where the cardio equipment is...and I have asked about it several times and they dont respond in customer service oriented manner...please people...come on.

I go 2 to 3 times a week, Facility has a multiple of fitness workout stations. Free weights you can hire 30 minutes or 1 hour personnel training. Classes are available for exercises. Yoga, swimming group exercise, biking, competitions in basketball, and racket ball. My Buford facilities has dry sauna, hot tub, and a swimming pool. For the most part they keep it clean. Staff is very courteous and if you’re not in personal training they will take the tome to show you a work station if you’re not familiar with it.

Been a member here since they opened. They have a great weight room and facilities. As for keeping it clean... Not so much. Have seen the same piece of bubble gum in the shower for weeks on end.

Good gym, lots of equipment. Wish they had more basic ancillary things like weight belts for the public to use but you have to bring your own

This is my regular LA Fitness. For the most part its a great facility and the staff is friendly. My only gripe is that it doesnt seem like they have a cleaning staff on weekends. There is always used paper towels on the floor and equipment, the bathroom gets really nasty, they run out of paper towels and the trash cans are over flowing.

One of the best branches of LA Fitness I have been to. I had one poor experience with a staff member, but he apologized and made up for it. This is one of the cleanest branches with some of the friendliest staff at any LA fitness.

Peter was a great help. He fixed my problem and made sure I was taken care of. Great looking guy and sharp Please come visit him.

Much better than other gyms I have used. With a pool, basketball court, racquetball courts, free classes, plus the usual workout areas there are many options so that I don’t get bored doing the same thing all the time.

For the price, this facility is a very good bargain. Occasionally the locker rooms are a bit dirty, but generally its clean, and the staff and members are all cordial and polite. The ONLY issue Ive had has been with the pool - its been unavailable a few times when I was really counting on it. Oh, and I wish they had a steam room. But again for the price this facility is a good deal.

The early morning team ( gentlemen at the front desk) are great with keeping the workout areas clean and organized. There can be more work done in the ladies locker room. Toilets are always filthy and tissue on the restroom floor area. I try never to utilize the locker room often for this reason.

I went here while traveling in this area. I was able to get my normal workout in. This gym was pretty much the same as the LA Fitness I use here at home.

I have been visiting this gym for two months now and I am very happy. The facilities are top notch, there are big and clean changing rooms and showers. The only downside is that this gym is crowded most of the times in comparison to other LA Fitness clubs. Some times I have to wait to use a machine or weights, but since there are so many options, I can always find an alternative. It seems like maintenance can be improved, but overall its a great gym. Employees are courteous and friendly.

There are issues being addressed. If they happen, the quality of my experience will improve.

This is a typical family gym. Zumba, cycling, pool, sauna, people sleeping on machines, people sitting on machines and on their phones, random wannabe NBA players that for odd reason HAVE to take off their shirt in the basketball court, 1/5 of the machines are scheduled for maintenance for over 7 months, certified personal trainers, and the worst of them all; people who hold on to equipment like they made an appointment for it. Locker rooms and bathrooms are decent. After 4PM though, paper towels and soap become scarce.If you want a good workout, go in the morning(5AM-9AM). Around 4:30PM-7:30PM on weekdays is a nightmare to follow your own protocol. After 3PM on Sat and Sun doesnt have much traffic.

Its a nice gym. The only things is some of the people arent welcoming at all.... More then once I walked in and felt I not welcomed .. In particular that Asian dude doesnt come off welcoming just rude. It really makes me dont want to come but its the only one close to me so I have no choice...

Me and my husband come and workout here almost everyday, the environment is pleasant and this gym just has everything you will ever need....I love coming here the staff keeps it clean when I come in someone is always is always cleaning and putting things back where they belong so others can use them.

I hate to be this person but the womens locker room is by far the worst locker room Ive ever used. There is a lot of visible mold along the shower walls and shower floors. There was not a single clean stall available for use today. It was honestly disgusting.

Ive been a member of LA Fitness for 4 years and this was my home location for a majority of that time. I moved to Duluth last year and use a different location, but I was in the area today and came here for convenience. Theyve redone the floors and overall appearance has improved. My complaint is the staff. The PTD (Kenny?) is very rude and unpleasant. He lacks the enthusiasm to be here, and doesnt speak to non-training members with respect. The front desk people are on their phones and not attentive to members coming in. They dont even smile or say the usual have a good workout. They look reluctant to be here. The overall mood of the staff here is negative and I should have driven the extra few miles to Sugar Hill. The staff there is great and I recommend that location to this one. The Sugar Hill staff is energetic and always radiant. Im sad to say I dont think Ill be returning to this location. I started my fitness journey here but my disappointment has made it so I dont want to return.TL;DR The staff here sucks, Sugar Hill is better.

This review is only for the cleanliness of this LA Fitness. I participate in the group classes often and the group fitness room is always dirty. There’s hair everywhere and if you put your water bottle on the floor the hair sticks to it. Absolutely gross!! Sweeping the room should be done after every class. The ladies room is often missing toilet paper and toilets look like they are clogged often. I hope this review helps to make a change for the better.

Very crowded gym which can be expected bc its by the mall but the staff at the check in desk was pretty rude. Not just to me but to another lady that came in after me. I did the guest pass but decided not to join.

I enjoy the equipment and pool at this gym which is all very nice. I have seen some of the algae around the pool which I was not happy about and think it could use some elbow grease and scrubbing throughout. It would be nice to see the staff working a little bit harder to keep the place tip top instead of just a couple cleaning people. Sometimes there are old paper towels left in the cup holders and stuff like that which could be easily remedied by a person walking around periodically, but is over looked. Also the weight machines could use a once over sometimes in case people arent wiping them off or not being thorough. I wouldnt say it is filthy there based on what I have experienced, but it isnt perfect. My main issue is with the mats leading up to the pool under the mats and the algae by the pool that I saw once. I havent noticed the shower being gross or the locker room really either. Overall I have had a good experience. I dont have any desire to use the basketball court though and I never go into the mens locker room so I cant say much about those areas. There is a lot of equipment at this location and the indoor pool is a big plus.

I wish there was an option to leave zero stars. Ive been going to LA Fitness for many, many, many years but today was the first time going to the Buford location. The front desk lady (she presented herself as the area operations manager) was extremely rude. She demanded that I have my picture taken and I asked why and she says that it is policy. I have absolutely no problem having my picture taken if thats LA Fitnesss policy. My issue is the way she looked at me and the way she spoke to me (very rude and unprofessional). She spoke to me in a manner that made me feel like I didnt belong there. I declined to have my picture taken and I told her that Ill just go back to my normal location and then she proceeds to ask me name of my location so that she can call them and make sure this never happens again. I know SEVERAL people that attend Bufords location WITHOUT a picture on file. Ive noticed that this area and surroundings areas treat different cultures in extremely different ways. I went to my normal location after leaving Buford and there was absolutely NO MENTION of me taking a picture. This further lets me know that some things will NEVER change. Again, I have absolutely no problem with following policies and procedures for any company but dont treat me any less than a human being. I guess I would be wrong if I treated her different due to her overly damaged, blonde hair among other obvious things. If you want to be treated with respect, PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION.

Location is great and they have a large selection of equipment. However...the equipment doesnt look like it has ever been cleaned. The weights are not ever racked, even first thing in the morning. Often there are no paper towels. Watched the front desk and a large number of people dodnt check in with their membership card. Apparently a fist pump with the guy at the front desk gets you in for free.

Been going here since it opened. I always find it very clean. Friendly staff. Easy renewal process. Would like to see more Zumba classes. Love the spin classes.

I just recently moved here and I couldnt be more happy with the choice to join this gym. Its big and VERY CLEAN. I just went to the spin class and it was very motivating. I will never get bored there with all the class and machines they have there. I would tell anyone to come sign up!!!

The gym is very nice however the child care is not. When you walk in it smells like a dirty diaper. It is also not very clean. If you have a smaller child it is not very safe either as the big kids are mixed in with the little kids. They run around and can easily trample the smaller kids. My son got very sick with a bad virus from going there as well.

Bathrooms are disgusting and not kept up, garbage overflowing. Equipment is not maintained and several out of order.

Worst smelling gym that I have ever been to. Ive been to a gym overseas in the desert that smelled better. Employees are always sitting at the counter on their phone when they could be cleaning or correcting people to clean up their weights. Towels, paper towels, empty water bottles, etc are always on the floor. If you go at 5 am you might beat the employees there. This experience was over a 6 month period and nothing was ever corrected or changed.
