Nice way to take a day trip to Port Jefferson to walk around and have lunch. Very reasonable to walk on.

Normally wonderful.. today I arrived at 1...told 1:30 cancelled..Car put on line and sat..NO ONE WAS TOLD 2:30 CANCELLED TOO...Could have driven around in the time from 1 until boat finally docked at 5..There should be a loudspeaker or people walking up and down the car lanes plus passenger areas.

Easy on and easy off. I used the contactless book my car and family pack online. Showed bar code on phone, scanned and that was it. Vessel was very clean.

Fast service. Food drink & cocktail lounge.

A pleasant ride, as always. Tho, its a shame that now you cant spend ANY time at all in your cars, while underway! Would have gotten 5 stars, otherwise! 😏

Great ferry service connecting Port Jefferson in Long Island (NY) with Bridgeport (CT) in about one hour. 2 car levels, one passengers deck and the top deck to enjoy the windy trip across the Long Island sound.

Always great to avoid driving through the Bronx to get to Connecticut and/or Upstate NY. Relaxing ride, particularly in the Spring/Summer.

Horrible experience with closed road and detour.I had a reservation for 1:30 pm Saturday, May 15, 2021. Traffic was the usual mess - I left 45 minutes margin. That was eaten up to about 20 minutes over the trip. When I exited 95S, I couldnt continue to the ferry - road was blocked by an officer. Traffic was detoured to a side street. The detour was gridlocked - a graduation ceremony was beginning. GPS told me 25 minutes to go a half mile. I wasnt going to make the ferry - I needed to be in NY at a certain time. I drove to Port Jeff. More traffic - late for a celebration of life service. I call to see about a credit - nope! I could have used the ticket on a later ferry or I should have called when I realized I wasnt going to make the 1:30. Seriously? I asked - didnt anyone else mention the traffic? Yes, but it was later - we have no way of knowing that the roads were closed or traffic was heavy. Ive been using the ferry for 30 years - thanks for nothing.

The ferry ride from Port Jefferson, Long Island to Bridgeport, Connecticut is well organised and saves driving time that can be tedious. The ferry is spacious with two decks for cars. There is an enclosed cabin for passengers with two open decks where you can sit and enjoy the sea breeze when the weather conditions are good.

The ferry itself is efficient and, on a beautiful day, very pleasant. Unfortunately, masks are not enforced inside, including in the ferry ticket offices. It’s particularly bad in Bridgeport, where the staff don’t even wear them. The whole experience feels less safe when this is not taken seriously.

A very convenient and relaxing way to get to/from Long Island to Connecticut at a reasonable rate and always make good time. The boats may be old, but they are reliable.

The only way to get off mid island without going thru the city to points north... Food is horrible, and always a great people watching trip.... But sometimes the sights are incredible

Sunday the 18 we went on a trip to Connecticut for the first time on the ferry, we had a great experience. Everything went nice.

Always on time, always available, if you have an overweight vehicle make sure you call the company and discuss, they will assist you, if you are a rider do not buy vehicle ticket online, motorcycle rates are lower yet even if you buy that, they find out, let you know and refund you. So far so good.

Fast and efficient with the times, little selection of beer in the cocktail lounge but enough to pass the time. Good views from the top and back.

For some reason there is a new rule that drivers can not stay in their cars, that came in effect a few days ago.My girlfriend who takes the ferry here regularly, came here this morning and said it was absolutely terrible! People jammed everywhere! Its actually counter productive to Covid guidelines since you are unable to social distance!Apparently this is some Coast Guard new thing. All I know is this could spell the end to the Ferry as everyone was upset!!

Convenient, nice ride, clean. Only problem is off-site parking in Bpt. Lot is too far away and security is always an issue in places like Bpt. Crime is not a perception but a reality in cities like that. Hopefully new site will be more conducive to secure parking.Bring a jacket for trip, its always cold on the water.

Beautiful and saves driving time

Arrived about 30 minutes early and was placed online, we boarded the boat early. The boat sailed right on time. The boat was not crowded at all, they had plastic up separating tables and seating. It was a smooth sale across the Long Island sound.

Love the process and the trip. I think they could do a little more in quality of round trip fairs for car costs. Maybe include the extra passengers...and the food seems to be less and less or not much available on ferry and the bldg for food is always closed.

The ferry ride itself is great. It saves a lot of time sitting in traffic when going to Long Island and the Sound is beautiful when the weather is agreeable. However, the queuing process needs work on both sides. In Bridgeport, it creates a massively long (slow-going) single file line that gives you anxiety that you will miss the ferry.The ferries are old and not designed for the larger vehicles today. If you drive anything larger than a compact car, you will have a lot of issues getting out of your vehicle once you are on the ferry. Ive had to climb over seats and get out via a different door because the attendants place you too close to a wall or another vehicle. Its not their fault, the ferries just were not designed for larger SUVs or trucks. You are a a pretty big risk of door dings from other careless drivers opening their doors.

A more than adequate alternative to driving to Long Island. The ferry staff maintain a clean ship and make an efficient run (1hr 15mins) from CT to L.I. all day long - pretty reliable schedule. For public transportation its definitely above average. I appreciate the plugs for laptop work or phone charging, and the affordable ticket prices.

Easy drive to the lot. Ticket booth and small Cafe inside. Very helpful and friendly people working there. Ferries leaving about every 90 mins. Thirty-three bucks passenger-only round trip. About a 40 min ride across.

Very well run. The trips are on time and run year round. They have seating, some food and drinks and a bar.

Very happy with the ride and I found the electric sockets to plug in my phone. I hope to take another trip soon.

I’m so glad we chose to do the Bridgeport Ferry to Port Jefferson. So relaxing even with three kids and a dog in tow. It wasn’t just a way of travel, it was an experience and it cut out all the hassle of traffic through the city. We loved it.

A little more expensive than going through NYC but way more convenient and takes off 1.5 hours of driving and about 90 miles.

I enjoyed the 1 hour 15 minutes ride across the Sound. Embarkation and Disembarkation was seamless. Worth the price in my opinion.

Captains do a nice job of docking and is on time!The vessel itself is a bit on the older side, but is well kept and does the job. After all, its not a cruise ship, its a ferry boat. Designed to get you from point A to point B quickly and safely.

Perfect way to avoid the drive around. However, The website is down and unorganized. Its 2017 and they cant sell tickets outside of their office. No phone sale, no web sales. Then the employees get mad at you for asking anything about the system being down. Get it together. I blame unions and the mafia. LoL

If you’re not on a schedule and just want to take a boat ride then have at it. Really undependable. Cancelled twice in a row. Could have driven between the two locations twice before the boat came. Added two hours+ to departure time. Not at all worth the money.

The bathrooms were very clean and the food and coffee excellent.

I go all the time to visit friends in Long Island. Its a much better ride than dealing with the LIE. The ferry is always on time, always clean, and the staff is always super friendly. Its been my go to ever since my first ride 5 years ago.

Love this service. Bring your own food. Their food is very expensive for cheap quality food. They do have a bar which Im sure is equally expensive just due to being on a boat. Very nice scenic commute and takes 1 hour. This is a very pleasant commute.

I have a lot of family international, so when they come to visit I always take them for a ride on the ferry. You only pay one way because you do not get off. 12 and under free, adults $20 and seniors $17. It is worth it . you can also buy food on board or go to the bar for a drink. My friends and family loves it. They are also very amazed by how many vehicles and size it takes. Always awesome and relaxing.

Comfortable ride with heaters in the winter on the inside cabin and an outside space to hang out and watch the water in the summer. Also has a nice bar and a separate food area. Only downside is when they have to change their schedules due to weather or otherwise they dont give much notice and I have only found it on Facebook. But this doesnt happen often so not a huge deal.

I had to make a trip to Long Island and this day I chose to take the Ferry instead of the long drive around on the LIE. I arrived early and was pretty much first in line, as the shore team guides you where to park so you can drive upon the ferry. Once boarding time came, they work like a finely honed machine to get all the cars aboard efficiently and safely. Once parked you can stay inside your car, or go upstairs where they have a restaurant, bar, restrooms, TVs, and other amenities. Or you can go to the top deck and just enjoy the view and the boat-ride. The whole process might take a bit longer than the actual drive around, (depending upon traffic) but the stress level is IMMENSELY better as youre relaxing on a boat, and not a white-knuckled drive in bumper to bumper traffic. This is definitely the most preferred way to get to Eastern Long Island and back.

Ive taken this ferry probably 100 times in the past 18 months. Most of the workers are professional and the ferry is always on time.However, the food service onboard is horrendously bad. You sometimes need to wait an hour before getting your food. Most of the time my order is made incorrectly. Ive been yelled at by the staff because of how stressed out they are, as they cant keep up with the volume of orders.

It is reliable. It is always on time.and quite frankly its a lot more pleasurable to take the ferry to go to Stony Brook then it is then going through New York City

Automobile with driver about $60. in the busy summer season I definitely recommend reservations. Trip duration is about an hour and 15 mins. The ferry that I was on was the Park City and it had a lounge. It was nice to have a couple of beers while on the ferry ride.

Nice relaxing and scenic ride across the sound! Stay inside or go up on top outside the ferry! Food and snacks offered but are quite pricey! Bathrooms are on the ship!
