I travel around the world and hit a LOT of gyms. This one is outstanding. I use free weights and they have plenty of equipment. The staff is friendly, helpful, and there’s an overall excellent vibe to the place. Usually a gym like this should be packed (they deserve it) but working out early mornings I have a lot of equipment to myself (which I like).Change rooms are class. Gym gives you a towel (and even a lock). There is a sauna, jacuzzi and even a STEAM ROOM! Excellent value for the price, can’t beat it in Boulder.I would give it 6 stars if I could.
We travel to Boulder often and have used OBF as our gym away from home. Friendly staff and a good amount of free weights and power racks. The four day passes are really inexpensive and a good value. And its walking distance from anywhere near downtown Boulder.
Hands-down best gym in Boulder. I searched for gyms for about a month before finding One Boulder. Super personable, helpful, and professional staff. It’s always clean, the equipment selection is excellent, and free parking (with validation) in a safe secure garage. Group exercise hasn’t quite started back up yet because of covid so I can’t speak on their classes. Overall couldn’t be happier here! (Also the gym dog is a major plus)
Amazing place!!!! The owner Carrie (hope I’m spelling that right) is a sweetheart. Thanks 🙏 for all the gains
Excellent facilities, great staff and a very special three-legged mascot.
In the 27 years Ive lived in Boulderand Boulder County, I have worked out at Rally Sport and Flatirons Athletic Club before it became Colorado Athletic Cluband Lake Shore Athletic Club as well as 24 hour fitness and a couple other places that are no longer in business so I feel like I have a pretty good perspective on the fitness scene in the Boulder area.I really like this club for a number of reasons.... the vibe is friendly and fairly low key, the staff is really nice and the free weights and cardio equipment is excellent. Along with the spinning bikes that you can ride anytime without having to be in a class, they also have an old school stair climber machine like the original one and a couple of the Concept rowing machines which are awesome! Its also a super convenient location for me since I do some work in Downtown Boulder a couple days a week and they include a two hour parking validation at One Boulder Plaza where the club is located. All in all this fitness center checks off all the boxes and I highly recommend you check it out for yourself!
This is absolutely the gym I recommend when passing through Boulder. You can truly tell the owners love fitness and health. The facility is well kept and the front desk staff are always very professional. The locker rooms are well stocked and clean, the weights are arranged well, and there is ample equipment. Best of all, there is a dry sauna! This is by far my favorite element of this facility, amongst all of the other virtues they have.
Absolutely fantastic gym!
We love this Gym! Clean, great equipment/amenities, and super helpful and kind staff. Highly highly recommend
Good fitness gym I ever tried so far. Staffs were nice and did accommodated me well. Clean facility and everything was organized.
I went to this gym for over half a year. Great facilities. I tried to cancel my membership for over a month, but Christian Castaneda took his sweet time to get back to me.I received confirmation of the gym membership cancellation on Jan 25. He said all I had left due was Feb 1. Cool, no problem.9 months later, I get calls from debt collections, saying I OE $385 for 5 months of membership dues. Thank God I saved the cancellation notice. But this is so crooked dont trust them bad business
I just cancelled my month to month membership after a year or so of membership. I think the month-to-month pass at OBF offers incredible value to anyone living or working downtown. I experienced none of the predatory money grabbing vibe you feel w/ most larger corporate type gym memberships. Everything from signing up (through the website) to cancelling has been entirely a hassle free experience for me (I just dropped an email to Kyle and let him know I was moving at the end of the month and he cancelled my membership with no questions asked) which I greatly appreciate. Equipment was always clean and staff friendly.
One Boulder Fitness fits my needs better than any gym I have belonged to. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the trainers are outstanding. The Management constantly provides inspiration through themed events like Biggest Winner in January and Running specific workouts weeks before Bolder Boulder to name a few. The classes are as fun as they are effective! Classes like TRX and Core Fusion along with Yoga Sculpt are among my favorites. I also enjoy the clientele which consists of a wide range of age groups and fitness levels, everyone is welcome. It is my favorite gym in Boulder and I have tried many.
Ive been a member at this gym for about 2 years now. Its by far the best gym Ive ever been a part of. Its small size it what makes is so appealing. Theres a community vibe and Ive always felt welcome and comfortable. The staff is always, always friendly and on top of keeping the gym in great shape. I so appreciate the people who work here. Ive taken a number of classes and enjoyed all of them despite the intense muscle soreness I experience for days afterward :)
One Boulder Fitness is a relatively small gym but that is what makes it fabulous, from my first tour through the facility I felt welcome. The gym is never crowded and you can always find a treadmill and weight machines. The small group classes are amazing, especially the Sculpt It! Yoga classes. The bathrooms and lockers are clean and provide shampoo, conditioner and lotion which is always great not to have to drag along with you in your gym bag! Kyle and the rest of the team are always helpful and respond immediately with answers to all questions. I only did one personal training session but it was really great, Hannah really seemed to care about my success and was helpful when it came to prior injuries and concern for my strength level at the time. I highly recommend One Boulder Fitness!
Great gym, awesome staff and unbeatable location in downtown Boulder.
Ive belonged to a lot of other gyms across the country (Friars club, the Y) but this one feels like family meets spa (love the eucalyptus steam room!) The instructors and wellness coaches are very present, attentive and educated. Plus its convenient being only a few blocks from campus.
I am a Senior and have been a member since I moved back to Boulder in 2007. Since then the classes have changed. All tend to be geared towardthe young clientele . However, this fact did not outweigh my decision to continue to participate at ONE Boulder Fitness. It is an intimate, friendly, clean gym. The clientele, as well as the staff, are kind, serious and polite. The changing rooms quiet and not crowded. There is no hectic rushing around, yelling, food smells or party atmosphere. Every time I come to work-out I feel inspired by everyone else working hard. There is an abundance of available up to date equipment to complement the technical equipment which is always kept in excellent repair or replaced if necessary. I have checked-out other gyms in Boulder, but this is THE BEST.
The Small Group Training classes have kept me motivated to show up. They provide a varied work out to which I feel committed. The instructors and the people in the group make it fun. Once I sign up, I show up. That has worked great for me.Follow up to this comment I made 2 years ago: Their trainers and small group classes have kept me working out for 2 1/2 years. For me this is the first time in my long life, after many tries, that Ive kept up a workout regimen for so long. When I started the classes, everything hurt and needed to be modified. Today I feel great and can mostly keep up with the much younger gang in the classes. This club has been life-changing for me!
Love OBF! Work in downtown Boulder and it is super convenient for starters. Super friendly staff that make it their job to get to know you, and I always get greeted with a Good morning, Greg - already have you checked in as Im walking down the stairs. The instructors are great, and will push if you want to be pushed, or just meet you at your chosen effort level. The club is small and intimate, but has all you need. Good classes, clean locker room and showers...all around a great club. Sign up if you are considering it!
Convenient location since I work on Pearl St. The staff is super friendly, the amenities are good, and its never crowded. Rarely, if ever, can I not use a machine. And people are glad to take turns. Dont be afraid to ask for a spotter! Most will oblige without question. Mostly dead on the weekends and when its not lunch time. My only complaint is that it is very pricey for a gym membership.
I love working out here. It is a great place. I have gotten to know most of the workers on a personal level because of how friendly they are. The equipment is fantastic. The staff does a great job cleaning the equipment as well!
Our company was looking for a gym in downtown Boulder that we could easily go to before or after work. We didnt even know One Boulder Fitness even existed... it was perfect for us! This is a small gym with great equipment and people, its not a huge mega-box faceless gym. The people that work there are extremely nice, the weight room is kept very clean. There is free 2-hour parking in their underground garage, great sauna/steam room, and excellent cardio machines. We really love everyone there.
I love working out here. Its close to where I work and its usually not too crowded. It also has pretty much all the equipment that I need for a quick workout. On the downside, the small space means that its quick to fill up, so make sure youre not going during rush hour. All in all this place is fantastic. The staff is extremely supportive and always helpful!
I just finished a workout at the One and its always a pleasant experience providing me with all the equipment I need to pursue fitness for living life in Boulder. The people are knowledgeable and friendly, the club is always clean and the parking is FREE! Its locally owned with great instructors and, best of all, the monthly dues are reasonable. I tried the corporate chains and came back to the One.
My experience at One Boulder has been great! I especially enjoy the number of yoga classes that are offered. Without exception, all of the teachers are amazing. I also appreciate the fact that the workout area and the yoga classes are never overcrowded. The equipment is always available for me to do the workout I want to do so I can be efficient with my time. I would highly recommend this gym!
Everything I need under one roof. Great facilities, even nicer people. 😁
Ive always had a great experience here -- its a smaller facility, but rarely crowded. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the trainers and group-class teachers that Ive worked with have all been awesome and motivating. Staff also seems to really pay attention to what classes are popular and adjust scheduling/staffing based on that. One Boulder has been the favorite gym for our company based on accessibility of equipment and classes, and the proximity to the downtown area.
Solid facility, sauna and steam room are great, people here are friendly and the staff has always been on top of things. Most impressively, they let me cancel my membership with no hassle whatsoever when I moved and needed to switch to a new gym. I wish more businesses in this industry operated that way!
My husband and I dropped in for a spin class while visiting Boulder this weekend. Jessica took us on one of the best workouts we have had in a long time! Only wish our hometown gym had classes of this caliber! The front desk staff were friendly and attentive as well. We felt welcome and wanted which is the way it should be. We will be visiting again and will surely come for a drop in day at your gym.
I enjoyed the small class sizes. The trainers made the classes fun and challenging. The spa area is a great addition especially for the price of membership. Its also nice having ample showers, locker room space and free towel usage. The reason I left was due to location when I moved away from downtown. Otherwise I would have stayed.
I love this place!! Everyone is so welcoming and helpful. Erin at the front desk was so cheerful and nice! She always makes my day when I workout there. Thank you erin!! What an awesome staff!
Great experience with everything at Boulder One Fitness. The facility is exceptionally clean and there are always machines available, even at the busy times before and after work. The locker rooms are clean and fully stocked at all times.Unfortunately I had to end my membership due to outside circumstances, but Kyle was awesome and willing to work with me to pro rate my membership and unfreeze.I highly recommend Boudler One Fitness.
Pro: This is the cleanest fitness club I have ever been to. And I have been to pretty much all of them in Boulder. You cant beat the location, especially with a free access to the parking garage for members.I mostly go to OBF for classes and love it because groups are really small. I have yet attended a class with more than 7 people in the room. If you are flexible with your schedule and can attend classes during the down time you might end up being the only student in the class, which to me equals personal training. All the stuff and instructors are friendly, experienced and attentive. If you like meditative yoga try the 4 pm Sunday Yin yoga with Suzanne. Her classes are themed so always different. She is very knowledgeable way beyond the subject of fitness yoga and shares the information with us during the class.Con: I wish they were open later, especially on the weekends.
I went to this gym for half a year +. I have no complaints about the facility at all. Its a small gym packed with all the equipment you could need - albeit not the most up to date. What I do have a major complaint about is the cancellation process.I didnt have an issue with the 30 days warning to cancel you account - I was fine paying for February even if I stopped going in January. What I take major issue with is the radio silence that comes from the owner when you try to cancel. Ive emailed countless times, called countless times all to cancel. I kept getting a he will call and email you with the cancellation form but it never happened. Super shady business practice. If youre okay with a not-so-easy cancellation process, go here.
Smaller gym with good equipment, clean facilities, not too crowded - even at the busier times. There is a weight room, cardio room, and a classroom that is more open if you need some space (when there isnt a class going on). Locker rooms, showers, and a coed area with a sauna, steam room, and hot tub are all in good shape as well.
Great gym, not too busy and the best part a steam room! Easy jog down from my office and a quick ride back on the Skip. 2 hour paid parking is a perk if driving.
Clean convenient gym in downtown Boulder!Downside is no daylight since it’s in a basement. Other than that I would’ve given it a 5 star ⭐️.
Great facility - its a tad smaller than some other gyms in town, but it doesnt get nearly as packed and the facilities are much nicer (new, clean, well designed). Staff will remember your name to the point where they check you into the gym as you walk down the stairs, to the front desk. And if youre working or living downtown, the option of having showers, a sauna, weights and cardio is invaluable.
This place is awesome! Erin is an absolute joy to be around. Best gym in Boulder.
Great fitness center! Nice amenities. Christian and other staff were very helpful and welcoming.
OBF is always so clean and welcoming! Sydney was so sweet and a great source of information about various exercises to target my physical needs! By far my favorite employee at OBF.
The staff was absolutely amazing, they are super friendly and very helpful. The facilities were always very clean and I never had to wait for any free weights or machine. The available complementary parking is so usefully.
The gym is just fine, however they dont respect their customers.I was charged an extra months membership dues after giving 5 days cancellation notice in person at their downtown location and was assured by their staff that my card wouldnt be charged for the next month. However, they charged my card anyways and emailed me later citing a 30 day written notice cancellation policy which is valid, yet a generally poor and disrespectful business policy. (not to mention the false assurance from their staff)While I would have come back to the gym in the future, and even referred future business their way, their approach to handling this issue shows me they dont respect their members as people and only focus on squeezing out every dollar from each member while they can.My hope in leaving this review is to encourage ONE Boulder Fitness to update their policies to view customers less as an opportunity to squeeze out every cent possible, and more as respected, intelligent individuals.
This gyms staff is very friendly and it definitely makes it feel like the family business that it is. They clarified all of the questions I had and made me feel at home the first day. The weight, cardio, and training rooms are the most convenient in downtown Boulder! Lastly, their freeze policies are great for users who dont need their membership a few months out of the year :)
Best gym I have ever had the pleasure of attending. Was a member for approximately 5 years and only cancelled my membership due to a move. Great value with the access to classes and equipment. Has a strong community feel with a focus on self-improvement and not a lick of bro-culture or peacocking.
Staff is really friendly. Gym has some grit and character to it. Definitely has everything you need when it comes to equipment.
Good gym, very friendly staff, clean, sauna & steam room
One Boulder Fitness is the best ! Unlike the huge gyms in Boulder, you get personal service and many at the front desk greet me by name. The gym has all the right equipment for me and I like the free Yoga classes included in my membership. I recommend One Boulder Fitness.
When healthy & fit, EVERYTHING in life is better. For me, the most important place I frequent is my Health Club. It must be easily accessible, have cutting-edge equipment / aerobics / classes / nutritional guidance / personal training / etc., and a knowledgeable, friendly, supportive staff. One Boulder Fitness has been my Health Club for over 7 years. Sure, I have tried other fitness clubs in Boulder. None compare to One Boulder Fitness.Another big plus is the price. One Boulder Fitness will provide you with a First Class Facility, First Class Equipment, First Class Employees, and an Atmosphere that will help you achieve those elusive fitness goals for less than half the price many other fitness clubs charge. How much is feeling good worth ? Is anything as important as good health combined with an energetic physical, emotional, and mental presence ? Stop by One Boulder Fitness and see the possibilities for yourself.
This gym is such a great deal. Its unlike other larger options in Boulder and my favorite part is the community vibe they have invested in over the years. Ive been going over 4 years and its filled with all ages and members with a variety of fitness goals. Super staff, friendly and they know you by name.
OBF is awesome! There is a great community of friendly people here at the desk and working out. I love their selection of strength training equipment—I never need to wait for a barbell. And it’s perfect to be able to relax in the sauna after a hard workout, and to use their other recovery technologies like the normatec.
Nice gym, has all the equipment you would need and they even provide towels! I work downtown so its great for lunch workouts on weekdays!
I was a member of this gym for about 4 months. Only reason I left was to start training martial arts elsewhere. Unless youre into meatheads, OBF is the BEST gym to train at in boulder for general strength and fitness. I literally did trial weeks at 5 gyms in Boulder before settling on this one. They have the best mix of equipment available and really nice facilities. Awesome locker room and showers, co-ed hot tub, sauna and steam room.
Get in, workout, get on with your life! Satisfies all my needs for a great workout:Free covered ParkingFull stable of cardio and weightsVery good trainers with many class options in the studioBest locker rooms, showers and full sized towels and clean facilityVery good staff, very accommodating, all professionals, excellent management teamVarious levels of membership depending on your needs, all affordableI highly recommend.
Love OBF. I go to this gym almost every day. Kyle, Kathryn, and the team are great. Equipment and amenities are top-notch.
Staff are super friendly! Also very clean and tidy.
I cant say enough about this place...I walked through the door in January 2016 with a degenerated disc in my back determined to get stronger and avoid surgery, and here I am 18 months later...more than 100 pounds lighter with a whole new life. The trainers and staff at OBF knew my name on my 2nd day and have felt like family ever since - Ive just never experienced a gym like it. The level of personal attention you get in every class is unbelievable. If you want to make a change in your life come work out with me!
I moved out of the country and miss this gym every day. My new place doesnt even compare to the amenities, or the atmosphere. I miss you guys!
Im a huge fan of the One and always look forward to my almost-daily visits to it. I feel like a kid who anticipates recess at school when I get to hit the gym and appreciate both the cleanliness and diversity of the equipment and, especially, the friendly atmosphere of the members and staff. The downtown location is superb for getting in a good workout and you can also use it as a great starting and finishing point for a run, hike or ride. And, for those who take advantage of it, the yoga classes are top-notch and included as part of the membership. I highly recommend OBF and am grateful that the no attitude fitness that was the credo of the old Pulse transferred to this gym.
If awesome were a rating option, that would be my rating for One Boulder Fitness. Ive been a member there for several years and wouldnt be happy anywhere else. The equipment and facilities are very well-kept, everything is clean and the staff is a terrific bunch of people - the whole atmosphere and vibe is very supportive of people at all levels of fitness. And it runs the gamut from elite athlete types to older women like me who didnt start out in the best of shape, but thanks to the training and encouragement I get at OBF, Ive made some great progress. The small group functional fitness classes with Troy and Glen absolutely rock. You work hard in that class, but you have fun and you get results. Check it out!
Originally had a great review for OBF. Needed to cancel my account. I did so and was charged for 3 months without noticing. No big deal, asked for a refund and was only refunded for 2 out of the three months.Yes, this was on top of 30 day notice month which I paid in full as well. Now the account manager wont return my e-mails after asking politely to fix the issue. Another problem is they raised their prices by $19 per month out of nowhere. No warning. It really is not a great value for the price. Taking my money elsewhere. Maybe somewhere that actually has a window to look out of. Sorry OBF, poor customer service gets you a poor review.
Super nice, clean, and had my favorite piece of equipment. A little pricey for a one time visit at 20$ but Im glad I tried it out.
Great place to work out and has a sauna, steamroom and hot tub!
Gym is never crowded, locker rooms are nice, and the staff is great. The gym has at least one of everything that you need which is rare for a smaller gym.It obviously does not have as much as a 24-hour or Colorado Athletic Club, but it is great if you work in downtown Boulder or close.I dont understand why some reviewers are complaining abou the gym being on a basement level. Most gyms dont have windows and you are working out after all, not admiring the view. Lighting has never been an issue.
Small facility but really friendly staff, not crowded, had everything I needed and amazing location.
Update: Im amending my original comment, and increasing my rating. After a few months more of going to the gym, it would seem that the gym has gotten used to the group workout dynamic. There havent been any more complains that weve been made aware of and though we typically try to request the owners time requests, we do occasionally go during the lunch hour. There havent been any negative comments on the times that we have. Also the majority of the staff are great, trainers making sure to be considerate, and desk staff helpful learning the routine of their clients, to have towels ready etc. Much improved. Original Post:I would strongly recommend against this gym. While their equipment is decent, the service leaves much to be desired. My company was working out as a group (anywhere from 3-5) employees on a regular basis. Like most people we choose to use the gym during our lunch hour, due to various company meetings etc. We worked out as a group in a circuit, using free weights and the occasional machine. All of us were polite and used proper gym etiquette and used up less space than the same number of people workout separately would have. After a few weeks of working out, the manager of the gym apparently received a few complains about our groups size, from other gym members. His solution to this was to ask us to not workout during the lunch hour and in small groups of only 2-3 people, while paying the full price for the gym. In other words he wanted us to pay full price for our gym membership while receiving sub-par service and equipment use. He continued to press the issue and finally gave the ultimatum that if we worked out during peak hours, he would cancel our contact.Bottom line: We, like all other members who pay the same price, have a right to workout when and how much we want, while being polite and obeying gym etiquette. The owner of this gym gave into pressure from other clients, to restrict our hours while still expecting us to pay full price. One other item work considering is that while 3-5 employees went on a regular basis, we as a company paid for 10 employees. So, the financial decision of Boulder One to give us poor service and restricted hours, was very poor business.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Also, the gym never feels crowded and the locker rooms are always very clean and well kept.
A good, small gym with a convenient location. Contains free weights, machines, cardio room, and free group classes. Not too expensive.
I have been a ONE Boulder Fitness member for 4 years now, the equipment is top notch, the staff and customers are all great. You cant beat the location. The locker rooms are very clean too.If you need a gym in Boulder, check out OBF.
Gym was okay though they didnt have free yoga mats (rent or bring your own).Beware, they have a 30-day notice required for cancellation of membership. If you decide you want to leave on short notice, expect to pay an extra months membership fee.
Great place, great staff Love working out at this gym and have done so since 2007.
If I wanted to workout in a basement with no lighting I could do it at home! NO THANKS!Update: my post keeps be removed, but I am a legit CU student who would rather work out at the CAC. L
One Boulder is a great gym in central Boulder and I have nothing but compliments for the staff and facility. Im not a gym rat and prefer to work out in the hills/trails around Boulder, but One Boulder has been awesome for lifting, indoor cardio and simply getting clean.
Best gym in Boulder! If you like your gym clean and people nice this is the place to go!
Very nice facility and everybody who works there is great!
Clean, quiet, and generally not busy. Good rates as well.
Great gym! Staff is wonderful.
Great equipment, friendly staff, all around awesome.
Great location and very good PTs
Christian was great . Awesome facility!!!
I think this is a great Boulder gym. I was a member at OBF for years before prematurely canceling my membership during some changes at the gym and moving to CAC, which I despised. The attitude in OBF is friendly and helpful, equipment is well maintained and clean.Yoga classes are included and frequent to accommodate everyones schedule.Small group training classes are great for anyone whether youre in great shape and wanting to add something new to your regimen or trying to get in shape for the first time!Karie Kerner is a wonderful trainer, and by far the most educated and passionate trainer I have ever had. Its a treat to train with her.OBF does have a smaller cardio room than CAC, for instance, but there arent kids and Tweens bogarting machines. I have never had an issue getting a machine I wanted within ten minutes (at the most) wait time.2 hrs validated parking is great and the location is awesome. Reasonable price point also.Overall, if youre looking for a welcoming, clean gym without pretension, OBF is the way to go.
What an awful gym. I cant believe the positive reviews are real and not generated by employees. The only reason I considered joining was that I work downtown. The gym has no classes, is very dark without natural sunlight, tiny, and somehow elitist. I passed.
Has 2 saunas (steam and dry) and a hot tub... Enough said
Have belonged to or worked out at most of the clubs in Boulder, this is by far the best staff and environment.
Awesome staff and trainers.
Great location, equipment, facilities, and people!
Quite a bit expensive to feel like youre working out in a BASEMENT.
Awful customer service! make sure signing the contract to overview the conditions of it’s termination. otherwise they are going to charge you even if you have not visited the gym for years.
Excellent gym and staff
Basement location. High price. Pushy sales person that couldnt keep pricing straight... Get quotes in writing!
Best place in town for workouts!!!!!!
