First time for any climbing activity with two kids, ages 7 & 11. Very courteous and friendly staff. Gave a tour, answered our questions and treated us with respect even though we were out of state newbies. Our kids had a fantastic first experience climbing and are ready to go back again. The facility is amazing - climbing for every level. Good service all around but especially impressed with Loris customer service!
An amazing Rock Gym and staff. Two huge rooms of climbing routes and a bouldering alcove always have great options to help me better my climbing. I love going a little later in the evening to find a more open gym but even when slightly more crowded everyone is respectfully with social distancing and space. Absolutely give this gym a try.
Knowledgeable staff, lots of routes with new ones each week. Very friendly and supportive atmosphere. It can be too crowded at times, but it’s an amazing place to climb
Its a decent place to climb with a good fitness facilities, although the bouldering area wasnt very big. The bouldering area does not use the standard boulder route rating system, which I was a little disappointed by. Some of the holds seemed to need a little cleaning. I noticed there werent very many 5.9 routes. I would have liked to see more.
Love the BRC!!! Setting is so great, vibes are chill, just a really great bunch of people to be around. ALW, hero to all the short girls, is my favorite setter! Thanks to cry in the dojo for the video quarantine classes, they really kept us going.
This has a lot of different levels for all different levels of climbers. Good for anybody.
Nice rock climbing gym. Offers bouldering, lead, and top rope climbing as well as auto belay. Small gym up stairs with power racks and weights.
Great gym, good community of people who go there and a nice variety of bouldering, top rope and lead routes. jack of all trades gym.
Really chill atmosphere. The slide sold me.
First time.visit, we enjoyed it!! Nice routes, pricey but hey its Boulder Yo!
A fantastic indoor gym with a wide variety of lead and top rope walls along with bouldering of all shapes and sizes as well. The classes are also worth attending with experienced coaches like Chris Wall and Brent who will make sure you leave fitter than when you walked in.Excellent community amongst the climbers and great service from the staff.
I have been climbing at BRC for a majority of my life, this has never been my home gym, however, I have always tried to visit as frequently as I can. I have always enjoyed the consistent quality of setting, the friendly employees, and most importantly the constant attempts to keep the gym up with the times. This gym was built a while ago, as far as climbing gyms go this gym is ancient, but the one thing that seems to keep them in business is the constant improvements. Small touches like the addition of a moon board before any other gyms in the Denver metro area had one, making a half decent speed wall on an untextured surface, or most recently the addition of solid bouldering pads to replace the drag mats. This gym deserves all yalls support, especially now during COVID, shower this gym with love.
Best climbing gym experience and community I’ve encountered.Definitely coming back! Huge fan of these auto-belays
Love this place- great routes and enough auto belays to stop by and climb on your own for a bit, but not too many to get in the way when climbing with a partner. The gym is nice and has all the equipment you’d need, and they have a nice schedule of group classes (which I can’t attest to the quality of because I’ve never attended any,) and community events.I can see how some may find there aren’t enough low level routes, but I kind of prefer that.
The BRC is a Boulder tradition and institution in my opinion. People of all ages climb here. The staff is top notch.
Great people, good times, and a lot of smiles. They do their best to keep climbing affordable and fun. Offering everything from bouldering to fitness classes.
Surprisingly reasonable prices for high quality climbing.
Safe, extremely fun, and great staff
The BRC, in my opinion, is the best rock gym in Boulder. Ive been coming here for 9 years now and I dont ever see myself switching climbing gyms. The staff is wonderful, the route setters are awesome and the vibe is awesome too.
Ive held a membership at all of the gyms in Boulder over the years, and BRC is by far the best gym in terms of quality staff, great routes, and awesome amenities, especially for the price you pay.
Awesome routes
Such a fun place to go rock climbing or have a group event .Also has a decent weight lifting gym .I just wish they had a few more beginner stuff, but most of the people seemed fairly advanced so it fit their needs
Love this place, really bummed that all the gyms are closed. Affordable membership, friendly staff, and auto belays are all pluses.
Love this gym...all good. Great routes and auto-belay considerations. Would even be better if they sent out emails to members when groups of young people or route setting or other activities in the gym might impact patrons.
Staff is cool, routes are fun even if you just boulder, tons of belay and autobelay options, weight room filled to the brim with equipment, showers, free coffee until 11?? I will save money by coming here to get my morning cup(s), and Ill get a workout in too! Already being cheaper than anything back home in NC with better amenities and perks makes it hard to beat, AND THEN they hit you with the fact that theres no sign up fee.
The route setting here is really varied and very well done. No guest passes for members is a huge bummer.
Locals Only Beta: Sober climbing group on Friday from 6-9 pm. Join the Phoenix Multisport Group which support activities for the SOBER climbing community. Learn to climb and belay with all gear provided. Lots of great folks. Must be sober at least 48 hours to attend! No charge but donations are gratefully accepted.
I love everything about this place. Great facility, great staff, great customers. great vibe.
The name has changed a time or two over the years. But the club is still spectacular. Updated well kept facility with more routes then you can imagine. Great auto-belay system makes it a place you can climb when you partner has a case of the Friday night flu...
This place is a lot of fun. Mostly geared for full sized climbers and boulder brats, but there is a tucked away area up top for mini climbers and wee ones. They do a great school age birthday party complete with challenges and games. Great secret slide too!
Helpful and fun for any climbers from beginners to advanced
Great place. Friendly Staff. Clean facility. Has auto belay and a good bouldering section if you are going solo. Chill setting. Looking to spray more than climb, you might like it better elsewhere
Looked really fun I went to pick up my daughter and went in and watched a while. Would definitely bring doing my workouts there if I lived there.
Really fun place to climb and boulder. Not a big fan of taped routes as they are harder to follow but I enjoy it just the same. They have 2 gyms (one for yoga with an open floor and one with with weights and machines). The auto-belays also are great if you are alone.
My favorite gym in town. Full weight room and climbing training equipment. 5 or 6 autobelays are great for running laps and building endurance. Interesting route setting. The only down side is the walls are just a bit shorter than I would like. Not bad though.
Great fun and indoor training for rock climbing. Awesome routes, staff and instruction if needed.
My kids love the camps they offer. My daughter also did a private lesson here that was wonderful.
There were certainly walls to climb here
20 years ago I visited for the first time. I was blown away by how friendly everyone was & the quality of the route setting was & still is outstanding. As a former route setter & climbing gym assistant manager in the UK, I had pretty high standards. Over the years I have had private strength training sessions with Chris Wall, participated in many of the climbing competitions held there & appreciated the facility & all it has to offer. A well equipped gym, yoga & strength training classes. My kids have participated in camps & parties & one of them was on the climbing team. Its a great place to bring kids & new climbers as it has a unique beginner climber area. And they have free coffee for the early birds!
I highly recommend this place for people of all skill groups. I am a beginner myself but I saw people clearly able to climb 5.11s or higher on these walls. Good price too! This place had a ton of auto-belays for newbies like myself and my date so dont fret!
What more do you need in a climbing gym? Amazing route setting, a laid-back, friendly vibe, free A.M. coffee and a great weight room + lifting platform. Easily the best gym in the Front Range. Go to the BRC if your goal is to have fun and climb. Go to Movement if your goal is to take your shirt off and impress people.
The auto belays are nice, but this gym isnt great for beginners. They only have a couple courses under 5.9, and its always so crowded that the easy courses are usually taken. Most of the other climbers are nice, but I have had a few bad experiences with some. The staff is fine; they just arent particularly welcoming. I always feel uncomfortable when I am here due to the difficulty of the courses and the unwelcoming atmosphere.
I drive up from Denver to climb at this place with my boyfriend. Worth every penny and the drive! Love this place!
I absolutely love going to Boulder Rock Club. They have a lot of routes and never seems to be too busy. Its great to start in the kids section when bringing new climbers. The bouldering wall is awesome and a blast to take the slide back down. BRC is definitely my favorite climbing gym!
Gets pretty busy but everyone who works there is really nice and helpful. A good amount of auto belays for those solo climbers out there.
I love this gym because most everyone is friendly and it still has a home-grown vibe. Routesetting is good but not amazing. Subjective, I know. Decent weight gym with all of my favorite climbing related exercise equipment. Im a fan of the Moon board and campus board. If they ever expand then I would love to see an angle adjustable system wall. The Moonboard is tough for most people in my opinion. I enjoy creating problems on a general system board where I can focus on crimps or pinches etc.
Boulders premier climbing gym. The Boulder Rock Club is by far my favorite place to train hands down(or up, I suppose). From their many many square feet of climbing, their well rounded fitness room, campus/hang board options, to their recovery room on the 3rd floor, you can get yourself fit in this gym. Ive been going to the BRC for almost 6 years now and I must say, like a vintage wine, it just gets better with age. Over the years Ive seen many of the same staff members which means people like being there, and it shows. From the route setters, to coaches, and the awesome people at the front desk they all share a love for climbing and sharing their experience on the walls. The community is strong here, people down to belay, making friends, playing, laughter, I really love this gym. Thank you BRC for making this such a fun destination in Boulder, CO.
The workout is intense more than Id ever do on my own. and very effective. The staff is so friendly and welcoming.
Myself and my kids really enjoyed it. Best rock gym we have been too
A good gym that has been part of Boulder for many years. Very nice that they have autobelays.-1 star because weekdays get really crowded with large kid groups. Also some of the exercise equipment is older.
Great gym. I really enjoy the cool little overhang archway in their bouldering area. Also, the slide to get down once completing a problem is a clever idea.
Really enjoyed my first time at rock climbing here. My son enjoyed his first time here too. Very helpful and friendly staff.
While living in Boulder I practically made this place home. The staff was extremely friendly and truly made me feel like I belonged. The renovation is really nice, check this place out.
Great gym, great price.
Ratings are soft, but good variety and very nice staff.
On my way through Colorado I decided to stop by one of the OG clubs in the US. It did not dissapoint! Stellar and creative route setting and super warm and friendly staff. Some gyms feel like a hookup scene but, thankfully, this is the opposite of that vibe. This is my Boulder gym from now on.
Love this gym. Great route setting makes this one of my favorite places
Really nice vibe. Cool staff and environment. Good Selection of Routes with lots of different difficulties. Definitely one of my favorite gyms.
Aubrey gave us a seamless transition into climbing. A great experience for 3 first time climbers. Looks like we have a new hobby!!!
Major issue with billing everyone should be aware. They just switched systems and I was overbilled by a month. I noticed it and called in and apparently IF YOU notice it and call in they will simply offer to mail you a check for the difference. I asked if that was all they were willing to do, Alissa the manager said yes. I said that seems like a poor effort and that Id probably cancel and she said ok. Dont cry for me Argentina but that seems a bit lackadaisical customer service. Just be aware of the billing issue because they wont call you.
Nice staff and decent routes to practice
Awesome, practical, and educational if youd like a coach.
If your going to join a rock climbing gym in Boulder, join BRC. They have the friendliest staff, with the majority of members equally friendly. Ive made tons of new climbing partners here and the atmosphere here is super chill. I wouldnt climb indoors anywhere else.
I love this place so much I would sleep on the floor
This place truly does have everything. They have yoga and fitness/workout rooms, cardio machines on the upper level, and tons of rock climbing. They have a starter area to bring newcomers and kids, then both bouldering and belaying areas.
Kind bust but some great routes
Stopped by while traveling through and was very impressed. Tons of space and cool staff. Check it out
They managed to lose my waiver, then their iPad crashed trying to fill out a new waiver. They wanted us to wait 20 min to get cleared to belay, but when we checked back after 20 they had forgotten about us and it was going to be another 30min. Three quarters of the way through our free hour we still werent allowed near a rope. Like the chill atmosphere, but this seems more of a flaff-fest
Great gym. Only wished they offered better guest pass deals like the Spot.
I only went here for one day to try out their bouldering. The gym is definitely more focused on top rope than bouldering, but the route setting was solid.
Great roped climbing, bouldering and much friendlier people than Movement.
Great place to train and get a workout in. Best gym in Boulder.
Slightly older style but overall good climbing.
Great spot to get your train on or simple enjoy some indoor climbing with friends. They have auto belays, a full gym (weights, treadmills, etc.), a Moon board, and bouldering.
Nice environment, doesnt stink like some, theyre always changing up and adding new routes keeping things interesting
Love this place. There are very good climbers here, most very friendly and happy to help those with less experience.
Nice people and facilities. Really cool climbing walls and gyms.
Great gym, fun vybe. Good variety of routes. Weight room, yoga classes.
Wonderful routes and friendly staff! As a nanny in Boulder I think the BRCs youth program is the best in Boulder. The staff are always in control of the class and they make climbing fun and engaging for the little ones. I highly suggest taking your kids to the BRC.
Could always be better, but this place has autobelays which are great when you need a quick climb without a buddy.
Im only an amateur climber, but they make you feel welcome and offer so many other classes and options to the climbing wall.
Great staff. Love that they change the routes.
Great hours, friendly staff, awesome extras (yoga, fitness classes) and just a darn fun place to be.
Good variety of routes, nice staff. Overall a pretty good gym
Good overall training place for aspiring mountain athletes. Lots of likeminded people and good couches.
The setting is solid and I like that the gym is pretty chill overall. Almost all the bros even had their shirts on, even the ones who did 5.13a routes on lead!
Amazing location. Great staff. A sweaty paradise!
I love this place as much as my kids.
Joslyns Mas Chicas (Motivated to Achieve Success) climbing class for women is the best and starts up again this week!
Meh. OKish for climbing but absolutely terrible for bouldering. Also pretty small, easily gets crowded.Middle of the road climbing gym, not much to be excited about.
Miss this place already.
I have been a member for years and it is worth every penny!
BRC is a great place for topropes and lead. Chill environment and some strong climbers to learn from. They have high walls and multiple autobelays for the solo day.Pretty small bouldering area but there are some thoughtful routes in there.
Pros: quality route setting, new routes are set several times a week.Cons: Cramped, Less square footage and shorter walls than the competition. Poor ventilation: cold at the bottom and hot at the top.
A great climbing gym
Great Rock gym, lots of routes, different colored holds make it harder to climb a route which is nice.
