I’d like to start by saying Pat seems to be a very kind women and I wish her the best - however, if you’re looking for a simple and quick in and out haircut this is not the place for you. She spent the first 45 minutes talking about herself without cutting a single hair - when she finally cut my hair she had absolutely no idea how to do a fade. I repeat - if you are looking for a fade haircut Pat has absolutely no idea how to do them. I am going to have to go to a different barber to get my hair salvaged. A kind woman with good intentions but no idea how to fade and no emphasis on getting you in and out quickly. All the same I wish Pat the best :)

Pat is a true professional who takes her time and pays attention to finite detail when cutting hair. I’m so grateful to have found her in recent months. This is the second haircut Ive had from Pat. Easily one of the best haircuts Ive ever had; shes extremely professional and has an amazing eye for hairstyles/faces. She has many years of experience beyond the average stylist/barber; and this was quite evident both times she cut my hair. She is kind and a wonderful person too. She has literally hundreds and hundreds of clients who have been loyal to her for many years. They tend to be the sort of people who dont write reviews. But they keep coming back for a good reason: she really is the best in Boston. Among the financial and business elite, she is well-known and beloved. Looking forward to my next haircut :)

Walked in and sat down right away. Amazing lady who loves to talk to people and get to know you. I gave her instructions on what I wanted and she gave me an even better haircut than I thought. She cut and washed my hair for $25 and gave me amazing advice. For sure someone I will be coming back to. Can’t say enough about her.

Pat has been cutting my hair for little bit more than 6 years now. When I transferred from my company office in DC to Boston, I didnt realize how lucky Id be to stumble across Pats shop in the 200 Berkeley St. building just by chance. The haircuts and conversation are outstanding - Pat is an absolute professional, is very well read, is in complete tune with the Boston Business Journal and knows everyone whos anyone in the Boston business world. The haircuts are a great value and frankly under-priced for her level of experience and the prime back bay location. Highly recommended to anyone who wants a great haircut and great conversation - I always look forward to my monthly visits and try to schedule my haircut at times when I can stay and chat for a while - Pat is a true joy.

Great service and great lady! Be ready to spend 40-60 minutes in the chair though. I just told her to do what she thought would work and she did a great job. Conversation was great also.

Pat is a great person and a great barber. I didnt have much time since I was in from out of town for business but Pat was available, very nice, and I got a great haircut and other helpful tips. Her shop is right behind the security desk on the left when you enter the building.

I was visiting in Boston from New York City for a wedding, when I stopped into Mrs Corcoran’s barber shop and received an excellent haircut. She was wonderful to meet and my fiancée loves the haircut. I would go back if I ever find myself in bean town needing a haircut again!

Short Review: If youre a super-conservative male looking to pay $25 for an hour-and-a-half-long political rant with a very poor haircut thrown in, this is the place for you.Full Review: I try to avoid long reviews, but Im sharing this story in the hope that people who go here for the first time know what theyre getting into. I went into Pats a few days ago for a simple haircut. Pat was very welcoming at first. I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she said she could do it. It was a promising start, but it quickly turned sour. Pat spend most of the first half hour talking up her ego. (Shes convinced shes the best barber in Boston. I beg to differ; Ive seen far better from shopping mall barbers.) She then switched to politics (all on her own), and spent the next hour ranting about her political and social views. This would have been bearable (she is of course free to have her opinions) if she was doing her job all the while, but she was not. After about 45 minutes in the chair, she had not done what I had wanted. When I asked her to fix my hair, her demeanor changed from fairly pleasant to almost hostile. She complained and suggested that I was making her do more extra work in addition to what I had asked for. I had to offer to pay her more money before she eased up and started again (in the end she did not charge me extra, thankfully). Needless to say, I was extremely uncomfortable. This is not how someone should treat customers. If she had simply listened to my request (again, I had a picture) and paid attention to what she was doing, maybe she would have gotten it right the first time. Unfortunately for me, it only got worse from there: After 45 MORE MINUTES in the chair, my hair was a complete mess. Not only did it look nothing like what I had asked for, but it was very uneven and sloppy. By this point I was so fed up and exhausted that when she finally said she was done, I just faked a smile, paid, and left. I did not dare say anything after seeing her reaction the first time I spoke up, and after an hour and half of what is so far my most uncomfortable experience living in Boston, I just wanted to get the hell out of there. I ran (quite literally) down the street to Supercuts, where a wonderful young woman was able to salvage my hair. I am shocked at the poor quality of my haircut because Pats is generally well-rated on Google. I am not sure what went wrong, but I know I will never go there again.

Walked-in here for the first time and, with minimal guidance/instruction, walked out with the best haircut Ive ever had. Also really appreciated how friendly and professional she was.

Best Haircut Ive ever had. Period.For years Ive had my hair cut by $$$$ Newbury Street salons & very fine Upper East Side barbers. Never quite satisfied; sometimes less than not quite satisfied.Why is she so good? You can tell from the first moment you walk in that:1. Pat has a loving eye and ear for detail and style and what looks good. She knows people, styles, faces, heads, and most of all hair - shes the type of person that sees what you are like, who you are, what would look good on you. Nothing escapes this woman.2. She listens. Let me say that again: she listens. This is exceedingly rare in anyone but most of all barbers/haircutters/stylists.3. Shes hilarious and super intelligent. I honestly cannot wait to go back; it feels more like visiting a friend than a haircut. I hardly noticed she was cutting my hair.I know a tailor like this - when you walk in and he makes a few marks on a pair or trousers or something, and it hardly seems like hes doing anything. A few days later, however, you walk out with something vastly improved and youre not quite sure how he does it with so few movements/strokes.Its called skill. And experience. And é·clat. And....Theres no one word for it; all I can say is, Pat has it in spades.

I hadnt gotten a haircut in probably about a year, and I did not have time to get it done before I came to Boston for an interview. I walked in to Pats without an appointment, and she fit me right in and gave me a great haircut. I would recommend her highly.

Went in for a beard trim, which was terrible; uneven and incomplete, she then attacked the back of my head, complaining that my last hair cut was terrible and kind of made a complete mess of ..she’s also mad. Stay away (an extra star because she had a hair vacuum, I’ve never seen one of those before)
