Id give this Barbershop very high rating. Hienok and Omar are very nice and welcoming. Would suggest this place for sure.

The price of a quick line up was reasonable; and conveniently located in South End almost at the corner of Tremont and Mass Ave is a great amenity to the community.

This is one of the greatest barbers I’ve been to with a clean shop and a good barber.I recently received an awesome haircut there and I 100% recommend going there to get your cuts.

You find yourself in a new town, and youre faced with the problem of trying to find someone who can cut and style your hair just like back home. This time I rolled the dice and came up winnin! I read about A1 online then happened to walk by their shop on the way to my interview. I was not disappointed when I saw them work in the flesh.Rob did a heckuva job. He listened to what I described for what I wanted then built in that as he said back to me how the cut was gonna go. I appreciated what he said and how he said it, then watched it all come together. I even dosed off at one point, and he was still careful, but creative with the cut.And before that, while I was waiting,I noticed something that even today can be rare: a female barber, of another ethnicity than the dominant one of the area, AND, she wasnt no rookie. This seasoned veteran, finished cutting, and styling a young guy in decent time and not too much flair. It not not only looked great, but I heard him express his gratitude and satisfaction as he looked in the mirror.All that to say, A1 has some great barbers who listen to you, and care about their finished product. And even if youre not new to town, theyre worth a shot.

Just finished getting a haircut here from the Jamaican dude all the way in the back. I never write reviews, but please do not go here ever again. Not only haircut was awful, also cut me up in all areas of the forehead.

I have been going to Dwayne for about 3 years and have never had a bad experience. Dwayne is a good guy and will take the time to make the haircut right. I would recommend them highly and will continue going to him as long as I live in Boston.

I second Chris Frederico’s review. The Jamaican guy was nice but is horrible at cutting hair. Given that this was my first time I asked for a simple even cut. Quite possibly the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten. There was no attempt to line me up, no attention to detail. The hair is sparsely cut at the back. I can’t believe that a barber can be so bad at such a simple haircut. Stay away

I received the best haircut that I have gotten in a very very long time. I called ahead got me right in. The service was second to none and if I didnt live out of town that would be my permanent place to receive my haircuts pricing was great. I walked in looking like a Shaggy Dog and came out trimmed and confident!! Daimon hit it out of the park !!

Walked in with a look of a man that badly needed a haircut. Walked out looking like a clown with heavy random patches on my head. Saw Jay (or Dee forgot her name). Good customer service and nice people. Left a tip after my hair got butchered because they did put in effort

Dee is professional and seasoned barber. He cuts my hair right every time, not all are good at cutting a females hair. My husband has been going to A-1 for many years.

I have been a regular here for many years because Dwayne, Mohamed and the other barbers arent just expert with scissors and clippers, they are genuinely nice, friendly and interesting fellas. My grandson is now a regular, too.

Ignorant establishment. Waiting past 45 minutes to be seen and ended up walking out. Its very chaotic with no sense of who will be seen next. I watched as others were seen before me, most likely their friends. Shouldnt have expected much from high school dropouts with prison tattoos. Do not waste your time.
