I did not personally use this company. They offer a taxi service and on September 1st 2021 my sister had to use them to run some erramds. When she told me of her experience i had to leave a review. The gentleman that picked her up was so kind and extremely professional, which now days its a rare thing to get good service as well as good customer service. He was even kind enough to help carry up her groceries. If you are in the Bolivar Polk county area and need a cab i would HIGHLY recommend using their service. Thank you for giving her such a wonderful and positive experience and for showing her such basic human kindness when she needed it most.

A & J showed up right on time and towed our car 1 hour away. No issues, driver was very nice and professional. Will use them again.

After towing a truck for us last minute, Shannon really went above & beyond to make sure our truck was ready to go the next morning. They were suppose to do an alignment on one of our cars after taking the rack n pinon off to put new one on and they failed. Then refused to fix it and give money back and then our Chrysler they were suppose to put a new distributor on and didnt charged me 200 saying price for new paper work says used. When we went to get it they still had motor apart and didnt out back together we had to they cracked the windshield and busted our headlight I paid almost 300 for them to fix that and break lines and they didnt fix nothing no distributor and no break lines and they refuse to give our money back since they fixed nothing. so Im turning it in to city the better business bureau and Im getting a lawyer to sue them since they do not want to make it right. Dont take ur car to them all they do is rip people off. They did this 2 two vehicles and our neighbors and some others we know... That isnt right when people use their hard earned money to fix their cars and to just have them broke more and keep money... Not to make it right is wrong... This car was drove everyday for the last 20 years.

They do great work on repairing your vehicle, always making sure you understand what they will be doing.

If you need anything give them a call. You might be surprised at what they can do.

Had a very bad experience here. If you just need a tow and they offer to take it back to their shop to diagnose/estimate/repair the issue, just say no. Dont fall for this common bait and switch tactic used by disreputable operations like this one.

One of our tires had blown out whilst on a road trip, after Walmart wouldnt put on a tire. Shannon kept the shop open to assist us and advised us on what what needed done when we got home. Really good people, couldnt recommend more! The Gantnier Gals.

Amazing service! Our alternator went out while traveling from Iowa to Arkansas luckily it held until we got to this repair shop. The staff was extremely helpful and very quickly got the alternator replaced and got us back on the road. They were also fair on the pricing.

I highly recommend A and J’s towing. I broke down on my way to college and Shannon helped me right away; it was after business hours. They got me back on the road in no time and did an excellent job.

Shannon has worked on both of my vehicles in a timely manner. He is always professional and we never have any issues with him or the shop. He always works with us on payments and never does anything without our permission. 10/10 will continue to use him as our mechanic!

They dont tell you a price before they do anything, your just hit with an amount at the end. Also they tell you itll be done at one time and then end up taken 2 days to do it.

They got me towed to Springfield in a timely fashion and for a very fair price. Highly recommend using them if you need a tow.

They pulled the classic “use a state inspection to skim money off of people” technique.My parents (one 75 & disabled, one 71 & recovering from a recent serious back surgery) have an old S-10 pickup they keep around in case needed. It had to have an inspection. A&J found issues with the outer tie rods and the “dragling.” These issues aren’t in dispute, but then they waited until later to advise that 2 tires were bad and needed to be replaced as well, and conveniently already had them on the vehicle before letting my parents know of this additional issue.Worse, it took A&J nearly 2 weeks to come get the vehicle to do the work - reason - their tow truck was broke down. Rather than just sending someone to get the truck and drive it back to the shop (not a long distance from my parents house to A&J’s location), they waited until tow truck was ready and then stuck my parents with a $45 tow bill on top of the 11th hour tires and the problems they found beyond what they should have been looking for when doing a simple Missouri state inspection.Scammers, plain and simple. Don’t use these guys.

Awesome service! I can’t say enough good things about them. We were traveling and started having issues with our car. Being four hours away from home and having a sick toddler we were in a panic. Awesome, awesome place. There was a huge misunderstanding with a different company and my scheduled apt here, yet Shannon stayed WAY past closing to get my car done (even though he definitely didnt have to) and even helped me out on top of all of that bullsh*t to fix my drivers seat and get me 4 new tires that Ive been needing for a while. I was here for quite a while because of everything but him and his fellow employees made it fun and entertaining. Will definitely drive the HOUR out of my way to come back here again!! Customer service the way it used to be.They took what could have been a really bad day and turned it around.I was working out of town and had an alternator go bad on my bucket truck. Although they had plenty of work to do they got me going again in a few hours. The price was more than reasonable.I had never met Shannon and Allen before but it felt as if they were people I had known forever.I highly recommend A&J and Will be telling everyone I can to go there.

We had an absolutely horrible experience with this company today!! I really hope that it was simply because the driver was having a bad day (although it shouldnt have been taken out on us,the customer). We have used this company before and they were very kind and courteous, cant remember the previous drivers name but he was an older gentleman. The driver that provided the tow today was very rude from the moment that HE arrived for the prearranged tow an hour and a half late. He had told us he would be there to pick up our vehicles at 3:00. We arrived there at 2:30 so we would be ready to go upon his arrival. After not hearing from him and sitting in the sun until 3:15 we finally called to get an ETA from him so if it was going to be awhile we could find someplace cool to sit and have a cold drink (we were 2 hours from home). He informed us it would be close to 4:30 when he arrived. We were not thrilled about that but we were ok with it and remained pleasant to him. The owner of the company told us the cost of the tow would be $260 to tow the vehicles 109 miles and if it was more than 109 miles it would cost us $2 per mile after that. We knew we were safely within the 109 miles because it was realistically 102 miles. After the driver hooked up the vehicles he told me it was going to be $370. I told him the owner had told us $260 and he became angry. He then wanted to take a route to the destination that would have been 18 miles longer which would have put us over the allotted miles. When we disagreed because of the additional mileage he told us fine he would follow us on the route with lesser miles but that we couldnt hold him up and he wanted us to go 70-75 mph This was after WE had waited for HIM for an hour and a half. We told him we would absolutely not do that!! ( I feel he was trying to bully us into going the longer route).He continued being rude. He told us he needed to go into town and had us wait at the pickup point for an additional 15 minutes and then called us and told us he was on his way back and he wanted us to go ahead and get started down the road and that he needed to stop in Brighton to get fuel which was 7 miles down the road from where we were. SO there was an additional 10 minutes added to our waiting time. We were trying our best to be friendly and accommodating even though he was STILL being VERY rude so when he was finally ready to leave I made sure to drive the speed limit and he fell several cars behind so we slowed down to 5mph under the limit and he called us and said we were going too fast so we slowed down even more. When we finally arrived at the destination we did our best to make sure he had a way to easily unload the vehicles. We continued to be nice and friendly and he continued to be very rude!! Once he was done we told him Thanks and he just stuck his hand out for payment. He wasnt going to give us a receipt and was again very rude when we asked for one!! We will NEVER use this company for another Tow or any other kind of service!! We will NEVER recommend them again either. There was another company that was going to charge us $10 more for the tow and I really wish we had used them because I am sure we wouldnt have been put through what we were with this company!! As a side note I would like to say the drivers wife came along with him for the ride and SHE was awesome!! She was very pleasant and friendly!!

Called they said my car was in the shop about to get worked on and drove there the next day and my car was still in the same spot. A week later they finally got my car in told me my charge was 360 and then got another price saying it was 673 dollars. I just recently got my rotors done myself and noticed that the ball joint they replaced was a bad ball joint and it was empty from its grease. It hasnt even been a month since they replaced it and already got to get another ball joint.

Absolutely the best automotive repair facility within the Bolivar - Springfield area. Excellent service, honest and dependable evaluation of repairs needed. The best part is they will tell you the truth about your vehicle...what needs to be taken care of right now and what can wait a bit. Shannon worked on my vehicle...hands down gave my vehicle an additional 5+ years of life. The entire team is like that. I am a customer for life.

Very unprofessional and unorganized. Took my vehicle to them twice for the same thing. The first time I had an appt and they couldnt get to it so I had to reschedule, the second time I dropped it off on a Friday and it was supposed to take one day, they called me on Saturday and said they have to keep my vehicle until Monday. I called them on Monday and they said that they have to get equipment in and it will be after the first of the year, I called well after the first of the year and asked if they got their new equipment in, they said they forgot and they will call me back in a few minutes. A few days later goes by and I call again and the guy that is supposed to work on it is on vacation and no longer provides the services I needed. If this is the way they handle all of their business then I definitely wouldnt take anything to them.

Very good people we had a brake emergency or breaks blew out at Campbell and 44 in Springfield we did not have anywhere down there close where someone could come and help. called them and they were fixing to leave the shop, but they did not.because they were taking their kids home to eat dinner but instead they stayed and fixed my brakes. They stayed for three extra.

Traveling home from an out of town visit. They picked us up in a warm truck, drove back to the shop and fixed our tie and we were on or way. Joe was a very friendly driver.

Shannon is amazing. Not only did he come in and work on New Years Eve to get my car running so I could get home, but when we realized the car wasnt going to be fixed that night, he even offered to drive me to KC if I really needed to get there. Fortunately, that didnt need to happen, but he did go out of his way to take care of my car and keep me updated on progress. If I ever have trouble near Bolivar again, I will only be calling A&J Towing & Auto Repair.

Very happy with the service

The staff is friendly enough around the shop but i hear time and time again their rude on tows. I have experience on 3 seperate occasions they tell us one price when we drop a car off to be worked on ans when the work is finished they charge twice as much and when i ask why its so much they laughed and said Because we did the work so now you pay not professional or trustworthy in my opinion. I for one will not be bringing my cars there for work again

These guys are hands down the best. Couldnt be any happier. Tire blew out on me on our family trip to Branson. These guys brought a taxi and tow rig to haul us back to the the shop and then gave me a ride to purchase another tire. The staff there are truly good people and i recommend you use them. I expected everything to cost an arm and leg and that was definitely not the case.

As a fellow uhaul dealer it was a joy to work with Allen and his crew. His secretary Im sorry I forget her name but she was extremely helpful with hooking up the trailer that I was there to transfer. They are really an awesome group of folks and they go out of their way to make sure everyone that comes through their doors leaves with the utmost satisfaction.

These guys are awesome. I was coming back from a trip to Arkansas and my durango windows got stuck down! Couldnt get them back up and it was starting to snow and I had kids in tow. I called them up, explained my situation and they took me right in. Had my windows up in no time and sent us on our way home. Amazingly priced and excellent customer service. Best place ever. Saved our buts last night. After towing our car to their shop James put our spare tire on and checked all 4 tires pressure then made sure the spare wasnt leaking. Highly recommend this shop if youre ever in Bolivar and need work done. I will most likely drive to Bolivar from Springfield when I need work done on my car just to have them do it.

I highly recommend A&J. My car has been having issues for months that no one has been able to diagnose/fix. They went out of their way to make sure that the problem was taken care of instead of just masking it. Wont take my car anywhere else in Bolivar. Fair prices, great service.

Great service!! This company went out of their way to make sure our family didnt have to sit on the side of the road and it was after hours. The man I spoke with made arrangements for us to get home and we were stranded after our car broke down and we were 2 hours from home. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Not all businesses will do that for people and they genuinely cared.

Called for a tow, said they would get someone out right away. 45 minutes later still sitting on the side of the highway. They call and say they havent been able to get ahold of there driver the entire time and I would have to call someone else. Not that big of deal just wish they would have called sooner if they knew they couldnt get ahold of the driver.
