We went here on Friday and my husband had his hair cut and his beard groomed and our son had his first haircut! Our hairdresser did such a great job on my husband, and she was so great with our 21 month old. Haircuts for children 0-5 of clients are free, and she was adamant that our little one had a positive experience. He has a lot of hair so were going to come back for stage two next week!

This place is amazing! Besides the excellent quality of service and haircut I get every single time, the staff is fun and welcoming. Ash is a wonderful woman and shes built an incredible business! She and all her staff are great to talk to, and this is coming from a guy who normally doesnt want to chat when he gets his haircut. Go there, hang out, and leave with an awesome haircut!

What an awesome place! Coffee and company, great haircuts and beard trim and clean atmosphere. They fit me in last minute while I’m in town on business. Marissa gave me the BEST haircut and beard trim I ever had. She was fun to hang out with while cutting and really listened to what I wanted done with my hair. If you’re in town or live here. I highly recommended a fade from this place. They even have some tasty coffee😁.

I am a regular customer for the last six years or so. Ash is the best stylist in town. She is great to work with, creative, energetic, and always interested in doing what she can to make you look your best. Look Your best, feel your best, do your best. Its a simple equation. And the foxhole is the best place to get all of those accomplished.

I cannot recommend them enough. All of the stylists are great and friendly and the price for what you get is seriously unreal. Marissa has cut my hair every time and is just really awesome to be around in addition to being really good at what she does.Brow waxing, beard trimming, scalp massage, etc... and yes you can drink beer while getting a haircut. Wow! After years of sub-par cuts at a chain establishment, I finally tried The Foxhole before my daughters wedding in October. I was unfamiliar with how they schedule, so I walked in, expecting to just get some info. They fit me in, and I was super impressed! The best haircut I have had in years, and the price was more than fair for the services received. I went back yesterday with my teenage son, and we had an excellent experience. Marisa worked wonders on both of us, and the shampoo and scalp massage was a fantastic inclusion in our appointments. We were taken care of quickly, but never felt rushed. Add a beer for me, a Fanta for my teenager, pinball, and WiFi; and you have one fine afternoon! Thanks, Foxhole!

I’ve been coming to the Foxhole for almost 2 years now after having moved nearby in the neighborhood. Ash is an incredible and caring local business owner and fellow Foxhole employees are caring, kind, and very friendly. I’ve loved the Foxhole since day one, and it’s become a hangout spot. I will now only get my hair done here so long as I live in Bloomington.I just got my hair done the other day. I provided Ash with little direction and she intuitively knew what to do. Ash can pick things up about your personality without you even having to open your mouth. She uses these observations to craft an amazing personalized look. I left as a blonde headed goddess. It’s amazing what a good hair cut and color can do for your self esteem and Ash and her team always deliver.I have a special connection to the Foxhole, admittedly, since I’m a neighbor. I actually debated moving earlier this year, but this business was a large reason for me deciding to stay put. Ash has welcomed me as a community member with open arms, and I will always have deep respect and admiration for her and her business.I strongly recommend the Foxhole.

Easily the best hair cut Ive ever gotten. And you can have a beer while you wait, so major win. All of the staff is very friendly.Also, Im a dude whos always had short hair but letting it grow out. So I kinda knew what I wanted but not really how to explain it. Ash completely understand what I meant though and nailed it.

I was pretty nervous about getting a haircut because I had been growing my hair out for so long but all of my anxiety subsided as soon as I walked inside and heard Lets Stay Together by Al Greene playing throughout the building. I was then greeted by a friendly gentleman who offered me a drink and proceeded to lead me to a room to shampoo my hair. Once we had finished he lead me to the next room where I was to actually have the haircut. Bayless, was the one actually cutting my hair. She was very quirky and friendly as well. We had a great conversation and Ill most certainly ask for her the next time Im in need of a trim. The atmosphere is relaxing and the people who work there do an amazing job at helping you feel at ease on top of actually cutting your hair to your specifications. Id give this a ten star rating if I could. For anyone who is nervous about trying somewhere new or just anxious about cutting your hair after not doing so in a long time, Id recommend The Foxhole over any other place in Bloomington. They are efficient, polite and make you feel at home. I know that I will definitely be returning for my next haircut. 😊

I always jump at the opportunity to refer my friends to the Foxhole. For the last 3 years Ash has been cutting my hair, and I have always absolutely loved what she does with my hair. My short haircuts have been awesome (and for some reason it IS hard to find a good hairdresser to cut short womens hair but Ash is just good at what she does) and now that I am growing my hair back out, Ash actually helped me think through a plan of action for the awkward in between stages! I would not go anywhere else.Oh, and you know what else is fantastic? If you have a kiddo under 5 and you are an existing customer - they can get a free haircut. Wow.

Ash and her team are awesome! Ash worked with me to give me an updated hairstyle that works with my thinning top, but which still feels like me. Theyre also as protective as I am of beard length, and will clean up wild edges without changing length or shape.

It is my first weekend in town and just want to have a complete makeover to start a new life. There is no better way than to go to a hair salon and get a satisfactory haircut. PLUS, they offered tea/coffee, even drinks if you want while you are waiting, a neck&head massage, and shampooed your hair after you are done. Ash, the barber, is so friendly, moves quickly but with precision and excellence. I did not even know what I wanted for my hair, and just wanted some her inspiration. And now my hair has never looked better. Just liked how we talked, getting a haircut is not just a come-and-go experience, but a whole package deal. This is def the place to go!

I had my first visit here about a week ago. Coming in I was nervous for two reasons: 1) I was getting a completely new hairstyle getting rid of my long hair surfer boy haircut, and 2) It was my first time getting a haircut in bloomington with someone new. However, Ash cut my hair to perfection... literally I dont she left a single string of hair out of place. I told her coming in I wanted a short, cleaned up, professional looking haircut but didnt know exactly what style of hair I wanted. Ash said she had some good ideas for me, so I left it up with her to Just make it look good, and I couldnt be more happy with it! She spent extra time with the haircut and teaching me how to style my hair using jells or hair products. Finally, at the end of my haircut she told my if I dont like it or just want it a little shorter to just come back in within a week and shell shorten it up free. I dont post reviews often, but I though this was well worth it! 5 stars

This was my second visit to the Foxhole. I absolutely loved the experience! L. King is the WO-Man, she has now given me my two favorite haircuts Ive ever received in my 29 years on this planet. Shes an artist through and through. Her coloring expertise is as good (if not better) than any professional in the Bloomington area. I am so happy. On top of all of this, Ash has cultivated a space that is laid back, fun and easy to relax in. Have a beer while your getting your hair washed, or just hang at the bar while your friend gets a trim. Its the perfect set up and I will be going back soon!

Highly recommended. Unfortunately, I couldnt book an appointment online until next week and I needed to get in earlier due to a friends wedding. I called and Ash picked up the phone and she invited me to come when I was able to and she said she would squeeze me in.This place is one of those places where you could just look around for hours and still discover new things. The ambiance is great and Ash was playing some Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor, and other smooth tunes to help set the tone.Despite being very busy and being down an assistant Ash did a fantastic job of joking around with me to make me feel more comfortable and she did an awesome job on the beard trim and haircut. I definitely will be returning. Thanks for squeezing me in Ash!

The Foxhole is a pretty jazzy lil place and the haircuts are absolutely amazing. The decor is cute and the music is boppin. 10/10 would absolutely recommend, my stylist made me feel very comfortable and i could not be happier with my hair.

Lindley gave me an amazing haircut! She knew exactly what I was asking for. I thought I had people who knew how to style my curly hair before, but no — it seriously is one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had, and it’s one I’ve always wanted but no one ever really did it before. The only place in Bloomington where I can always expect a consistently good hair cut. Ive never had a cut that Ive been unhappy with, and the service is the best Ive had. Id encourage everyone to stop paying for the walmart generic option haircuts they can get at most $15 salons and give The Foxhole a try; you wont be disappointed by spending the few extra dollars.

The Foxhole is, imho, the perfect barbershop. The atmospheres chill, the cuts are expertly done, and the clienteles friendly. Ash is a badass barberella--I somehow look 110% sexier after shes worked her magic on my hair, and her razor shaves are incredible. Couldnt recommend more.

I went here because I didnt want to make the drive up to Indy to seem my normal stylist. BIG MISTAKE!!!! The stylist missed at least half the split ends I wanted her to get rid of, cut the bangs I wanted to try out super jagged and way fuller than I wanted, and then proceeded to flat iron my hair into a mess (like, I think she singed some of it, my hairs been flat ironed before and feels smooth, but this felt really crispy), WITHOUT ASKING IF I EVEN WANTED MY HAIR STYLED STRAIGHT. (My regular stylist always asks if I want my hair straight, loosely curly, or super curly since my hair texture includes all three and without product is generally just frizzy mess that takes best to loose curls but also looks great super curly or totally straight). That lady also wandered about spending more time chatting with employees and clients than on my hair. She was also extremely rude in telling me that I needed to switch shampoos like two weeks ago. When I told her that I normally use Aveda but just couldnt afford anything more expensive than Pantine, she proceeded to talk all about the shampoo she uses but doesnt try to force on her clients. Certainly felt like she was trying to force it on me. She did go an ask the other stylist for OTC shampoo recommendations since she doesnt ever use anything from the supermarket. She mad it sound like that was a bad thing. Then she told me Aveda was just as bad as OTC shampoos. (Theyve always been the best products for my hair. Again, youre NOT trying to push your product on me?) On top of that, I felt like I was being completely ignored, but, being a shy person, I didnt want to speak up for myself.I went straight to work afterwards, and my boss, who knew I was going to get my haircut and had known I was excited to clean up split ends and try a slightly new style, could tell I was upset. I said that maybe I just wasnt used to it yet. Then she pointed out all the split ends left behind. She asked, isnt that what you went in for. Yes. I suppose you could go have her re-do it, they are obligated to do that. But I suppose if she did this bad of a job, you probably dont want to go back. Yep.I sent a photo to my mom, who also thought it looked bad and who was angry about the OTC shampoo comment and the bad-mouthing of Aveda products, went out and bought me 3 Aveda products from my normal salon. My hair feels much better back on Aveda (not that it felt bad on Pantine, was just starting to sag a little). TAKE THAT!!! The next day, after washing out whatever gross product the stylist had put in my hair, I simply pulled my hair half-up, and sent a picture to my mom again, which she thought looked WAY better with the bangs than the straight monstrosity the stylist had done. That was went I noticed the bangs were cut all jagged though (with a piece that is an inch longer than the rest to one side).The highlight was the intern who washed my hair, had a nice conversation with me, and gave me a nice scalp massage. Without him, this review would be one star.
