Love this place so much!! This was my first and only tour of apartments. The leasing office staff were very friendly and answered all my questions, even when I texted them at random times. The process to sign was simple and easy and you can’t beat the prices here. I recommend this place to all students who are looking for a place to stay.
The following review is for 1116 N. Walnut, owned by Rafaat Rizkalla, managed by his daughter Marly. Ive been renting in Bloomington for 9 years and this was my worst experience yet. Marly was consistently unprofessional and frustrating to work with. She is generally absent (out of town pretty much all summer, never saw her once until move-out), has no knowledge of how to manage a building, and expects residents to do tasks that are the landlords responsibility to compensate for that (ie showing your apartment, snow & ice management, repairs after move-out).Maintenance issues were either never resolved or took 5-8 weeks to address. General groundskeeping and care of common areas is basically non-existent. The move-out process was a nightmare in every respect (no set inspection time, no move-out report, accusations of hiding damage that was found by the next tenant, totaling my own damage/finding replacements etc.).I have plenty more examples of poor management, but it is too much to list here. Please just take my word for it, renting with Mona Apartments is not worth the hassle of dealing with the landlord if you value your time, money, and rights as a tenant.
