I’ve been here for a number of years and this has always been a nice place to live but I have noticed a huge decline in how the place was being run recently and it wasn’t good at all so I started looking for somewhere else to live, that was until I met Halsey Warren, the new property manager. She is absolutely unbelievable, she’s thorough, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and caring, the best landlord I’ve ever had. She’s not one that just sit in the office watching YouTube videos and shopping on Amazon all day and when you call the office with a problem gets mad at you for interrupting her and brush you off, she actually get out, meet people, walk the grounds, knock on doors just to check on us, especially some of us that’s old folks that have medical issues. When I first met Halsey she helped got me set up for online payments. I have stage 4 pancreatic cancer and sometimes I can’t get out to go pay my rent but now that I can pay my rent online I can do it from anywhere even if I’m hospitalized like I was about a month ago and couldn’t pay my rent until I got back home which caused it to be really late and I had to pay extra fees that I couldn’t afford. I don’t know if the pay online option it’s a new tool or I was just blown off when I asked about it to all the other managers before now. I could write an essay highlighting the difference I see since Halsey has been here, she’s incredible and I’m so glad we finally got someone here that actually cares about the property and cares about the tenets. She even hold maintenance to an high standard because repairs are getting fixed and issues are being resolved that has gone untouched for years. I hope she doesn’t get a better job offer because this place needed her and so did I. Midtown is finally heading in GREAT directions.

They were very prompt to handle any maintenance requests. They also called to follow up with the maintenance.

Farris Properties is one of the most poorly managed property service agency in the Highland Park area. Being a tenant, I can firmly attest to their unprofessional behavior. The office staff is extremely disrespectful and rude including the manager in charge. Scheduled appointments are not met with. Follow up is sporadic, with no prior intimation. Maintenance are given keys to the apartment without the tenants knowledge. When confronted the office staff and manager do not consider the tenants opinion or concerns and try to dismiss the unprofessionalism as a random event. Do not recommend this property for renting.

There was a Davis Avera at Blackstone. Entered my apartment while I was at work and took my dog. I have a text message from her talking about her drug use, but Leah would not look at it when I took it to the office. Make sure you have private access to your USPS mail. I also have notices from Farris Properties that were never signed. It is my opinion Davis Avera put them on my door without permission.

This management company is one of the best with which I have ever dealt. They are prompt when called for maintenance service (and extremely thorough). They offer incredible amenities and the property in which I live is beautiful, even before all the upgrades theyve been putting into it. For example, when one of the toilets werent working very well (but still working), they replaced BOTH of them. When we mentioned our bathroom fans werent working, so some mildew and stuff started accumulating on the ceilings (like every other apartment in the city), they replaced both of the fans and took care of the mold/mildew. They have friendly office staff and its just an amazing place.

Do yourself a favor never go here it has by far the worst staff I have ever seen in my life I am not going into detail but I just thought everyone should know.
