I recently got a vehicle (May 2021) and prior to picking a dealership, the reviews of Jim Colemans Toyota in Bethesda were quite good. However my actual experience was superior to even their great online reviews.I reached out, and Karen C. (sales) was able to get me the exact vehicle within one day, Anthony K. (finance) was very efficient and helpful and Zachary W. I wish my husband treated me as well as the staff at Jim Colman Toyota. To a person they are helpful, polite, well dressed and mindful of my needs. My car is 25 years old but that was no problem. You would have thought it was a Rolls Royce the way it came back to me. I’ve used back yard mechanics all my life with the goal of saving money. No more of that. Jim Colman didn’t charge me as much as the grease pit guys and did a better job. The place I dropped off my car was cleaner than my own kitchen, smelled good and was brightly lighted. Made me comfortable and confident that these people know what they are doing. And at my age, 86, that feels really good. Ann

I dont buy cars very often, but have now bought three from Jim Coleman Toyota (in 2005, 2016 and 2021). My son is still driving the car we bought there in 2005. All of my experiences there have been terrific. My most recent purchase from Luis Romero went especially smoothly. He was straightforward about my options and quite pleasant to deal with from start to finish.

Awful first time experience. I had an appointment on 7/30/21 at 1:45pm for a battery issue. I arrived earlier and stood in line without anybody offering help. None of the people working at the desks made eye contact. After approaching one person, he said he was so busy he couldn’t help me. Said I could try with another one that was available. I walked to another desk, where the two men at the desk were laughing and didn’t even say hi or made eye contact when I approached. After I said I had an appointment, the guy said it was going to take a long time because they were very behind. He said I could leave my car and pick it up the next day. When I asked why they would make an appointment for me if they weren’t available, the man said it was a mistake from their end. Seeing that none of these people seemed to care and were disorganized, I simple left. I wasted my time by going to this location. I used to go to the 355 location but because I live in Bethesda, I figured I would try this place. Terrible decision. Do not recommend at all.

I came here a couple days ago ready to buy my very first car. I was looking into the 2017 highlander. Mohamed was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Please keep in mind This rating does not reflect on him as a sales person at all.This is for the quality of cars and the finance guy.I was shown three different Highlanders. I was not impressed and was shocked that they had these quality cars. The first one REEKED of smoke (about 40k miles). The second one had the silver trim falling off (about 15k miles) and the third one I didnt notice until last second that the indicator on the right side mirror was cracked (about 15k miles). ALL three cars had more dings and scratches then I was expecting/hoping. I understand they are used cars so I let it go. Mohamed told me not to worry that could be fixed so I went in and talked to him about pricing Then went to the finance guy.The finance guy that attended my mom and I was Alex. He was very passive aggressive and not friendly AT ALL. The whole vibe changed as soon as we started talking to him. I had to cut it short because my mom had to go to work so we came back the next morning. I told Alex the next morning that 37k (without financing) for a 2017 was a lot for a used car and I thought about it and decided to get a 2021 highlander. His exact words Ill be honest that car is too much of a car for you. He asked me why not get something smaller and I told him I have two kids I WANT a big car his response was I have two kids too and Ive always had a small car you dont NEED a big car. Definitely not a smart way to negotiate a car.I thought these comments were uninviting, unprofessional and just rude.

This is one of the better experiences I’ve ever had in a dealership… and I’ve dealt with dealerships for decades. Completed my 2-YR ToyotaCare 25K Service and Sam Park made it such a pleasant experience. He took care of me and ensured my expectations were met.Had to come back in due to a check engine light and got me expedited right through as I was headed for work first thing on a Monday morning. (Everyone knows how Monday mornings are!)Brought concerns about my ChromeTec wheels peeling and he got a warranty claim submitted. (Have heard so much negative about how these rims are aesthetically holding up…)He coordinated my appointments and provided updates as necessary. To most, sounds like he’s just doing his job. These days, I’d beg to differ, as most can’t seem to do just the basics.Last thing I may add, getting the Uber ride home and to work through all these appointments and back once finished… this is great! No waiting forever for a service shuttle with 10K stops!… it’s not a loaner, but I’ll take it for a same-day service. Well done!

Highly recommend this dealership. We did a nationwide search for a Rav4 Prime that is hard to find right now. We called several other dealerships that were charging WAY over MSRP, price gouging or told us they simply couldnt even order one at the moment. Jim Coleman does not price gouge and that won my business even though I had to drive 400 miles to buy from them. Quick communication and upfront pricing so there werent surprises when we arrived. Our vehicle arrived from the port quicker than we expected & Karen C. & Luis R. were great to deal with.

Spoke with one of the parts technician, asked him if they have a part in stock. The website I used parts.toyota.com if you know the site, lists all dealerships near you and sometimes cheaper prices. I asked if I place the order on Thurs would I get that part by Saturday 24-48hrs. He said yes, and he checks for the part says he has it in his hand. And he spoke with the technician processing online orders. Called on Friday, see if any progress was made said that we have a lot of orders and he said give me the number of the order and Ill let my processing guy know and give a callback. Now its Saturday, there is no call no update, or email, on Saturday no one wants to answer the phone. Need the part for a trip guess have to buy it somewhere else. Since they close on Sunday.Update: Finally got through part is available after telling one of the people that there is one physical there.

I was able to purchase my new RAV4 Prime SE completely over the internet (from Florida) without any problems. Karen Castaneda the internet sale manager was able to reserve it and it arrived exactly as promised. Umar Chaudhry helped make all the paperwork a breeze. Jose Redd was gracious enough to pick us up from the airport and thoroughly went over all the many features of the RAV4 Prime. It was a very pleasant experience.

Jim Coleman Toyota provided the smoothest, most hassle-free car buying experience Ive ever had. The Internet Sales Manager Karen was very responsive to my inquiry and answered all of my questions, and the deal she sent me was very fair and didnt change when I showed up to finalize with the salesman and F&I. They completed the purchase quickly and we were in and out of there in about 2 hours total. There was no pressure, and I felt respected through the whole process. I recently purchased a car from Jim Coleman Toyota. I found the car online at Jim Colemans and requested the internet price. Very soon after I received an email from Luis Romero who guided me through the whole buying process. We communicated primarily through text but did use email and phone to confirm some aspects of the deal. That was amazing! When we arrived at the dealership it was raining so Luis thoughtfully pulled the car into the service bay so we could look at it out if the rain. He took care to give us a detailed rundown of the cars features, showed us how everything worked, and took us on a test drive further describing features. When we decided to move forward with buying the car it was so easy! Luis already had the car cleaned and fueled ahead of time so we were done signing papers and leaving about an hour after deciding to buy. Our finance manager, Anthony, was also great. Highly recommend Jim Coleman Toyota, Luis, and Anthony!

Had an incredible customer service experience in the Service department at Jim Coleman Toyota. My family and I encountered a mechanical issue with our 2014 Sienna while on our way to vacation. We were hundreds of miles from both home and our destination, and I arrived without an appointment on a Saturday morning. The service adviser Alim was extremely helpful and sympathetic toward our situation. Somehow he and the service team were able to acquire the necessary parts, resolve a time-consuming repair and get us back on the road to vacation on the same day. I can’t thank the team enough for the compassion and uncommon personal service displayed. I only wish we lived close enough to Bethesda to give them future business!

We called ahead on phone to make sure we can still come for our appointment at 3:30 pm because we are running late. The guy on the phone responded back and said we could come in still. So we drove to the jim coleman Toyota dealership. When we got there we spoke with one of the representatives and they directed us to someone else. So we did as advised again. But then that representative directed us back to the previous representative. And we were told, they no longer accept anymore service. Even though we were told we can come in for our 35k mileage service. The cashier was also rude to us, and not friendly at all.

We spoke on the phone before I came in to the dealership after work. When I arrived at Jim Coleman, Oumar had the two cars in which I was interested already waiting for me to test drive. My wife and I would like to thank Zach Wraase and Arvin Go for helping us become the new owners of our Prius Prime Advanced. The sales experience was stress free from the test drive, through price negotiation, financing and eventually driving off the dealership parking lot.There was never any sales pressure. Zach handed us the keys to the car and my wife and I test drove the vehicle for an hour which included a pitstop for lunch. When we returned we didnt feel any sales pressure as he handed us over to Arvin and felt we were dealing with members of the family. The finance manager was able to beat my credit union financing rate with a loan at less than 3%.A couple of weeks later I came to pickup my permanent tags for my vehicle and they were installed for me. Something broke during installation and so the technician took my car into the garage, they replaced the broken item, and I was on my way in less than 20 minutes.Ive been driving for 40 years, Bethesda born and raised. I cant thank Zach, Arvin and everyone at Jim Coleman Toyota enough for your professionalism, providing us a stress free buying experience and putting us in a car weve owned for a few weeks that puts a smile on our faces. Very bad experience. I had water pump replaced in this place. After it was replaced, my car shakes at highway speed. it felt sluggish too. My sliding door was squeaking afterwards. greasy fingerprints on car and seat. the tires were put on overtorqued and crooked. That caused the car to shake at highway speed.

Car shopping during the chipset shortage crisis was extremely frustrating. Not only it was difficult to find a car I want, but most of the dealers were adding massive dealer markups on popular models.Jim Coleman Toyota was the only dealer in the metro Washington area not taking advantage of the situation. Yes! Zero markups.Sales staff Amar Shahi helped me tremendously. Communicating through text messages was prompt and easy. When I walked into the dealer at the appointed time, Amar was waiting for me in the lobby. As we walked to the car, Amar told me that he had to hide it behind the building from the show area so I can be the first one to test ride it. Amar made this buying experience the best I have ever had. I really liked that hes on point with the product he presents and only tells what he know for sure. There was no false information, exaggeration, pressure. I highly recommend him for any purchases.Also, Ive had a great experience with finance manager Ben Lare. From beginning to end, I felt very comfortable, well informed and confident in my purchase.

Picked up my new 2021 RAV4 here. Wow, I couldve never imagined that dealing with sales at the dealership could be this straightforward. I was going in assuming the worst and was pleasantly surprised.I started of with requesting vehicle availability confirmation followed by out-of-the-door price request. All done via email. Both answers were promptly provided by the internet sales manager (thanks Karen!). There was no additional information requested from me unlike other dealerships that had asked for my birthday or SSN (right...), which was refreshing. They had asked for a small deposit to hold the vehicle which was very reasonable.I came in the following day to complete the transaction. Financing department was the other area I was expecting hard push at. It was a pleasant surprise yet again. The whole process took very little time (thanks Benjamin!).And the rest of the time I worked with 2 very polite and helpful sales consultants (thanks so much Arvin and Singh) to get the test drive setup, answer a few vehicle and process related questions, etc.I spent a bit of time there while waiting for the funds to go through and overheard a few customer/sales conversations taking place. I did not hear any hint of hard sales tactics taking place. So, my experience must not be unique.Id whole heartedly recommend this dealership to others for new car purchases.

A bit of a rocky start with Coleman Toyota. The preowned vehicle we were eyeing looked great from the pictures. We coordinated with Nelson, a sales rep, to get some additional pictures. There were some scratches to the paint that Nelson found but assured me they were taking care of that now. Unfortunately, whoever was in charge of correcting the paint did a poor job (looked like they used a paint brush). When we arrived and looked over the vehicle there were a few issues. Passenger seat was stuck in place, 2 of the tires were rotted and balding, second key was missing, rear trunk mat mysteriously disappeared and there were fresh paint scratches from when the car was moved to show us.So as I said. Rocky start with them. We were losing confidence and I was getting frustrated. Fortunately, Nelson jumped into action, realizing that these problems would not fly he grabbed the store manager. I forget the gentlemans name but he came out and I began to list off all of the issues and this is where I regained my confidence. Instead of getting defensive like many car salesman do, this manager not only listened but acted immediately. He fitted the vehicle with 2 new tires, fixed the mechanical issue with the seat, found a rear floor mat, properly fixed the paint chips and offered a dealer price on a spare key. Redeemed!I couldnt give a full 5 stars as a customer should not have to point out these flaws. These types of things should be fixed before the car is put on the lot. A lesser car savvy person may have missed this which is unsettling to imagine purchasing a lightly used car only to realize that the tires were ready to slip out the next time it rained. But the fact that they dealt with the issues quickly and didnt argue was much appreciated. The rest of the process was nothing to boast about. Finance team was slow and we ended up waiting hours because from what I was told, there are fewer people working the evening shift. So not a great finish to the car buying experience but we were just happy to get out of there with our new car.4/5

My experience at Jim Coleman Toyota was truly an amazing experience. I normally purchase all my vehicles cash, but this time I decided to finance to have credit history with a loan. I’m from New York and I came across Jim Coleman Toyota. I called in to inquire about a vehicle I seen on Capital One Auto Navigator. They indeed had the vehicle. I spoke with the Sales Manager William Hoyos who is indeed an amazing guy. I was able to negotiate my trade in and the price of the vehicle with William over the phone. It made my purchase seemingly easy since all the negotiation was done over the phone, all I had to do was go through finance and leave out. William was attentive to my requests and he made sure he set the car aside for me since I was coming all the way from New York to pick up the vehicle. My salesman Abu was a pretty straight forward guy, he’s about his business. He’s there to do his job and move on to the next customer. The finance manager Ben who assisted me was amazing, he was super honest and made my first financing an experience to never forget. Once he sees this review he would know who I am. I was nervous but he assured me everything was going to be alright. I arrived to Jim Coleman Toyota with my pre approval from Capital One. Most finance managers at other dealerships run your credit with every bank possible to get an approval. But I advised Ben that I would like my credit ran through Toyota Financial & Capital One only and that is what he did. He explained to me all the warranties Toyota offered and explained what it brings, he did not pressure me into getting anything I didn’t want. I did not felt pressured one bit. I got approved with Capital One and they also kept their word on their end. The interest rate they offered me on the pre approval is what I got as my interest rate on the finance. I was at Toyota for about 3 hours tops and drove off with my new 2021 Toyota Camry XSE AWD. I would definitely drive 4 hours again to Jim Coleman Toyota to pick up another Toyota in the future due to my amazing experience. Thank you all for your great team work!

When I dropped my car off for servicing and detailing, Alim checked over my car and showed me small but consistent chipping in my Corollas paint. He informed me that there was an extended warranty on the paint and that the dealership could help me set the situation right. Your useless guy who answer the phone told me 9:45AM when scheduling the service. I showed up at the place at 9:30AM and just noticed the text says 10:00AM. I ended up have to cancel a meeting because of this time frame. This lie caused me so much inconvenience and I am going to seek service somewhere else.Edit: The service was sub par. After I left the place and get some gas, I realized it can only go up to 450 miles max instead 500 miles. I feel you guys messed with my electronic device.

I paid for my vehicle up front and the service at that time was great. My plates were forgottenbut then mailed out after I called to ask about them. After they were mishandled and returned to the dealership 4 months later, their brand of customer service had me drive 2 hours round trip on my only day off with my toddlers to pick them up. This would be a completely different review had they said, sir, we apologize for the hassle, the delay, and we are sending them overnight to you. Or We will have a member of our staff delivery them in person. What time is convenient for you? Instead, I had to wait as my arrival was not expected even though I had told the dealer I was coming, and I was given the opportunity to drive 2 hours with a 3 and 5 year old instead of enjoying the day with them. Being that I am in the market for another vehicle, I can tell you there is one place I will not be going: Jim Coleman Toyota. For those that had a great buying experience, I did as well. However, when faced with rendering service after a sale, they absolutely failed. Do not trust Jim Coleman Toyotas service department. They try to rip you off with unnecessary repairs: for example, $300 to replace a spark plug that is working perfectly well, $200 for an induction service, a well-known money-making scheme among mechanics.If you absolutely must bring your vehicle to Jim Coleman, do your research. Ask them to explain every repair in detail and then do more research before agreeing to any upsells. Personally Ill be finding another, more trustworthy mechanic.

Had a issue revolving around a document folder missing from my car’s glovebox after a recent service visit. I spoke with the service manager about it. He was very nice and resolved the matter for me by actually finding the folder stuck under the passenger side seat. Also he said he’d speak to the technician on January 4, 2021 about the matter and then give me a follow up call.

Brought in my younger brother to purchase his first vehicle. Being in the car business myself, I found the process super quick and comfortable. The Sales Consultant, NELSON ARNEZ was absolutely phenomenal. He is easy to talk to and he’s straight to the point. Called him and scheduled an appointment and by the time we got to the dealership the car was already washed and paper work was ready for us to sign. He showed a world class service today. Be sure to look into other options after getting quoted here! I was quoted at $5k to replace carpets due to a clogged air system and mold build up. Was told that the mold was so bad i needed to replace the whole carpet. Apparently, this is a common issue with Toyota highlanders and corollas, but they never tell you that. After making many calls was able to find a better solution. $80 to fix the clog and $160 for a detailing job/mold treatment. My car looks and drives brand new! I feel very ripped off by their approach and trying to make me spend $5000!!

My new favorite place to buy toyotas. They dont play games haggling on prices. Easy negotiation over the phone with Luis on a prius prime. Had everything arranged for me, ready to go, when I got there with the most friendly sales person Daniel. If we didnt hesitate a bit over the colors and the addons (roof rack), could have gotten out of the dealer in an hour with a new car. Best of all, the finance manager Anthony found that an extra 500 cash back wasnt applied to my purchase and even got my price down another 500! Real honest people here. Will definitely be back.

Maryland’s Worst dealership is Jim Coleman Toyota . Strongly suggested never buy a car, worst online pricing and managers. Specially online manager name Adam Carter who challenged me I can not get a better price (I did) in Tyson Toyota which I highly recommended, best managers and sales raps they know how to take care customers.

I recently bought a used car here. At the time, everyone was helpful and nice, and they promised to replace a part on the vehicle the following week.Next week no one calls.So, I tried calling, texting, and emailing and each time I get the run-around. No one responds; no one helps.Its extremely frustrating. I feel like I have been cheated. I cannot recommend doing business with this place if you ever want anything (no matter how seemingly simple) serviced on your car even if it was a condition of the purchase.I am sending an email with more details to Patrick Coleman. Im leaving five stars because I had such a great experience with Vincent and Jonathan. We looked at cars and although we did not purchase from Jim Coleman, Vincent was thoroughly consistent with our needs and concerns and Jonathan did everything he could to meet what we asked for. These two were understanding, friendly, and extremely patient and demonstrated phenomenal customer service. We bought a completely different car elsewhere due to personal preference, however, I highly recommend Jonathan and Vincent if youre looking to purchase a car at Jim Coleman.

I had purchased cars here for a decade. I prefer to be given a reasonable offer up front rather than haggle down, which is a waste of time, particularly when you can easily determine the best price available on the Internet.I went in to purchase a 2020 Sienna today. I told them I would immediately buy it but didnt want to deal with the haggling. Instead, the quote provided was absurdly high and nowhere near the best offer. When I informed them of that, the response back was they wanted me to provide a counter offer, which is precisely what I didnt want to do.So, I left and called another dealership in Arlington. Even if their pricing is still more than I would prefer to pay, it was lower and more realistic than this one and will just buy it there today.To me, thats about as clear a sign as to what Jim Coleman thinks of its loyal customers. No more.

I brought my uncle to get a car, and will bring the rest of my family with me too. Also, financing was quick, easy, and seamless. Dear reader, If I can give this place negative stars, I would.My wife and I bought a 2020 Toyota Camry on 10/24/20. As a customer, I just wanted our sales rep Abu Bangura to treat us with basic kindness and patience but all we got was nothing but attitude from Abu. At one point, we were told by the manager that the car we wanted, they couldnt sell it to us at the color that we wanted because of the asking price so we were told to look at different color options. After choosing between two colors, we decided to stick to our original choice.abu responded with oh my god after we made our choice. Alright, no big deal. Afterwards, we waited 45 min to an hour only to be told that the finance guy Anthony Kamola was working on our paperwork. While waiting, I asked Abu’s boss Luis if they can get someone to help me drive our camry home which was only 7 minutes away (also b/c my wife couldnt drive (also didnt have license yet)). Luis assured me that someone would help. Finally, it was getting late when Anthony met with us. Apparently after speaking with him, he had been waiting 2-3 hrs for us (so we waited for no reason). While doing the paperwork, I kindly asked Anthony if he could go over the warranty info on our new vehicle purchase which apparently Mr. Abu should have done. Anthony asked Mr. Abu to come over and do just that. His response? Stop by the office, drop off the the booklet and say You can go over it yourself. Well, so much for quality customer service.After all paperwork was done, Anthony shared with us that we needed to wait for approval. No problem. We were given the keys and I asked Anthony which rep would be able to assist me to bring the car home.At this point the place was supposed to close and I still needed to bring 2 vehicles home. I understand that it was late so I figured Id come back another day to have a representative show us the vehicle. But if the manager assures us that a representative could assist us in bringing the vehicle back to our home (after all, it wasnt our fault we had meaninglessly waited to see Anthony), then at the very least, they shouldve kept their word or do something to accomodate Nope. Mr. Abu said Its too late, Im leaving, I had plans already.  One guy even had the gall to tell me to drive one car home and uber back the next day (and no, they werent paying for the uber). At this point, you can imagine how frustrating it can be working with these people. So I ended up driving the new car home and I took a bus to the dealership the next day to retrieve my other vehicle. Mr. Abu was there of course but didnt bother to acknowledge me and my wife. By this point, I wanted to just simply come back with the Camry so they can show us the new features.Not too much to ask since they promised to do it initially. I eventually came back to the dealership and confronted management about having them show us the new features. The only saving grace for this place is that the young guy (I think his name was Paolo) was kind and very attentive. After 2 weeks, hand’t heard back at all about the status of the application. No email. No call. No text. Nothing. After calling 3 times over the course of two days (calls to anthony kept on going to voicemail & it wasnt set up.) I finally just spoke to someone else on 11/7/2020 around 10:00AM who stated that I was approved around the 2nd. I don’t know who this guy was but after asking why I NEVER received a status update about the application nor instructions on the next step. He says banks don’t notify you when you get approved just when you get declined. Sorry, that is completely incorrect. I work for a major financial banking institution. You do get notified in one way or the other. After I shared that with the rep, he started to argue with me over the phone over whether or not that is true. I hope the call is recorded and that their corporate office hears it.Conclusion: This place only cares about the money in your pocket not about you. I truly regret coming to this dealership.

Recently, my 2007 Toyota RAV4 was undergoing a recall-prescribed oil consumption test. My vehicle failed the test so the service tech, Ernesto (really nice guy), recommended my car receive the Toyota-recommended mitigation action. I agreed and left my car for servicing. (Was offered a free loaner car meanwhile -- yea!) I picked up my RAV4 once ready & drove it for ~3 days, but noticed a ticking noise in the engine during that time. Decided to return the car to address the noise on Apr 18. Didnt make it to the dealer though. Experienced catastrophic engine failure while on the 495 Beltway. Fortunately, my husband had been following behind me in his vehicle. I called a Torque Towing (awesome!!) and they arrived in 5 minutes and dropped off my car at Jim Coleman. The next day, Steve (the Jim Coleman shop foreman) called me with news. He was honest, professional, spoke in laymans terms, and offered a couple of different solutions. He confirmed that Jim Coleman would take care of everything (at no charge to me) and apologized for the inconvenience. Throughout the process Steve kept me informed and communicated regularly. I picked up my car last week and it has been working fine since. Wish the problem had never occurred, but things happen and Jim Coleman did their best to ameliorate in a timely and professional manner.
