I came in for a price check on my tension pulley and belt to be replaced told me both parts were about 40 and total 448 to get done. Why would I pay someone 400 for labor and they have to loosen belt anyway to get part off. Matter of the fact is I paid 34 for both parts and nothing for service . YouTube got me done in 45 min. Thanks but no thanks. They charge all that for what. Wish I got paid this good.

This is the best Pep Boys I’ve ever been to. I am recently going through the hardest times in my life. I packed up my entire life and moved back home from Jersey back to Texas in my 04 jeep with over 150,000 miles on it. So it was risky to begin with. I ended up stopping at a hotel near this pep boys when my car was making a strange noise I wasn’t going to stop to check it out but something in me told me to. I take it to this pep boys the manager Ulrike Baker comes outside asking if I need help, I tell her my situation and she calls Mr. Spencer over. He starts working on my car immediately. I’m worried it’s going to cost so much money and I won’t be able to afford it. She tells me I’m missing 2 bolts and they have to order them so I’m stressed out because now I have to stay in Alabama another night. A few minutes later I ask what’s happening and she says that Mr. Spencer keeps old bolts, screws and other random car parts with him for emergencies and that he just happened to have the exact bolts I needed. So I’m so relieved and I ask her if she wants me to pay now or later and she tells me since he found the bolts it’ll be free of charge and to just get home safely. I immediately start crying and thanking her. Best service I’ve ever experienced. 10/10 recommend.

My daughter was traveling from NJ to Texas in her 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. She ran into some grinding issues and stopped in here. She was treated awesome! Had to get a vehicle aligned and short notice. All the other shops around were gonna be next day at the earliest and couldnt wait that long. These guys squeezed us in and were done within the time frame given. This is not the first time Ive had them service my vehicle for tires and alignments over the years and always had the best outcome! They even rotated and balanced my car tires at no extra cost as I had bought from them !! Anytime I cant do something on my own that requires special machines I always refer to THIS Pep-Boys as theyve never done me wrong!

Making an attempt to have some warranty work done that is covered for a vehicle I literally just bought 2 weeks ago. First impression, Rica, super nice! I used to be in the industry for a competitor and to be honest, was not sure I wanted to work with Pep Boys, but I am limited based on the warranty locations for the car dealership I went with. I am hopeful this will be a good experience so I can then make this location my go to place for any future service needs. Fingers crossed!

Scheduled appt online and they had me in and out in 20 mins! The shop tech Sam was very helpful and experienced. That was one of the best experiences Ive had with a tire store!

I made an appointment for 2:30pm and wasn’t told until I got there that for whatever reason I would still have to wait two hours. A simple email would’ve saved me a lot of time and annoyance. I had to call off of work and deal with their nonchalant attitudes when neither of those things were in my schedule for the day. I was going to go to a different place for my car, but this one was suggested to me. Starting to think it was as a joke. 10/10 would not go again :)

I had hit something on the interstate and punctured my tire, luckily I was close to the Bessemer Pepboys, Rika and Clarence got me right in and fixed had it fixed quickly. Keep them in mind when you need new tires or repairs.

Suspected bad tire the day before our trip home. They did inspection and follow up with no problem found. Topped off our washer fluid as a courtesy. Nice, helpful folks!

We just dropped over 800 for tires and an oil change then drove from pep boys home .. less than 4 miles then walk out to a flat tire yesterday morning with no sign of hole or otherwise. I call 30 minutes before the closing time to be told all of the guys are going home.. I live 10 minutes from the store.. We were also asked what do I expect them to do about it... My husband is on his way there now and I am doubting judging by the response of the worker on the phone yesterday that it will be good service.

Never disappointed with this Pep Boys! I have been using this location for years and theh are always friendly and knowledgeable. They dont overcharge, never pressure to buy or fix unnecessary services or issues. Overall service was not bad. Actually, I would dare to say that the customer service was great. The timeliness, on the other hand, is another story. Ive been here for about an hour and there is one other person here yet my car has not even made it to the garage. Id be more understanding if they were busier but they arent. Only go here if you have plenty of time to kill.

Had a wonderful and refreshing experience today. I had car issues and had to make a call into the 730 Academy Drive, Bessemer, AL Pep Boys store. I spoke with the manager there and she walked me through the entire process of online account setup and activation. My parts were ordered and she was very courteous and professional. The industry needs more customer service individuals like her. Oh yea, by the way, as I said earlier, she is the manager there....I wont put her name out there,.......but its Rica, and shes doing a great job. Courtesy, professionalism, and parts....Thats what I call one stop shopping. I think this deserves a bonus.Thank you Mrs. Rica

My choice for car service and car care. They are willing to work with you and constantly tell you of upcoming issues and services needed. Mr Parker is always there working, not sure if this man ever takes a day off. I love the preferred customer member service. You are able to schedule your appts online and when you check out, if there are any specials, they are automatically taken off at checkout. I recommend their service to anyone that asks me about car service care. A good suggestion would be to have rewards for preferred members that bring other members into the company. Like maybe a free $5.00 car wash service or a $5.00 gift certificate to be used on the next oil change. Word of mouth is the best way to gain customers! Thanks for all you do and Mr Parker, take a vacation. ☺

I have a total of 2 cars that PepBoys in Bessemer keep services. I live in Hoover but they are close to my Job and always on top of my needs. REKA offers the best customer service known to man she makes you want to come back....prices are always awsome....

Stopped in to get a fuel leak checked. Granted they didnt charge me to check it out, but the shop was very nasty, the lady at the counter was not in any uniform, and didnt seem too interested in our service. Bathroom was horrible. Just not a very well lit, clean place to be. Service could be a little more friendly and inviting.

This is my auto care shop because they have always done right by me with the very best of automotive service and repair costs.

I went today to get an alignment. I told them that I had been to another shop. They diagnosed with “X” problem and that my husband will fix it but I need the alignment anyways. (My husband said it doesn’t need to be done yet. I can easily wait.) I then asked how much it was and they said $89.99 plus tax. I said great. They said ok, I left and came back when it was done.When I got there the lady at the desk seemed annoyed at my meer existence. Said “he’s gonna fix this soon, right?” I said yep and paid. As I was walking to my car I noticed an $8.99 “shop fee” on my ticket. And $0.90 tax. I went back in and asked, since I was not told anything about a “shop fee”. I asked what it was for and was told that it was for “putting it on the rack”. First off I’m married to an ASE mechanic (we just don’t have an alignment machine). I know that you don’t rack a car to align it. (You drive on the alignment machine, the same one listed on my ticket for $89.99) She then told me it was taxes but I said then why isn’t it listed under taxes. And I wasn’t told about it. Mind you, I wasn’t being ugly just asking. She starts slamming stuff around and giving me back the $8.99. She said well he told you about the taxes. I said yes but he didn’t say anything about any fees. She said that every shop charges it. So I told her no need to be mad, I was asking a question and she said I’m not mad. Ok well, whatever. We will not be returning. No need to be rude to your customers. I called around to 5 other shops in our area and not one of them charges a shop fee for an alignment. I think she was mad I didn’t get her to fix a $300 non issue that my husband can repair for $100. Maybe it really is a tax that they are trying to charge me but not actually pay? who knows, regardless, she was rude.

Just moved to the area. Looking for a good auto service place and I think I found it! Had EXCEPTIONAL service from Clarence. Four tires, front brakes, & alignment.I will definitely return.

I rolled up into their parking lot, not knowing their business hours, at 7:23PM. Their Open sign was on, someone was inside and it was lit up. I walk to the door, to find it was locked. Employee in the parking lot yelled CLOSED! at me and treated me like an idiot in front of my fiance. I pointed at the Open sign, and left. That was my first and last experience with Pep Boys.Im not particularly mad that they didnt address me or service my needs, but I AM mad at their demeanor, tone, and the treatment I received in the parking lot.

If the employees here cannot wrench on my oil filter accordingly to prevent spilling a quart of oil down the road, do not trust this service station.

Saturday August 20,2016 took car in for value stem replacement, was told that my tires have motion sensors on them but they didnt have one, but they could put me a regular stem in tire for now. Said nothing was wrong with the sensor they just dont have the stem, so went to auto zone and bought matching stem, called pepboys and asked for sensor was told that they threw it away. # feel robbed.. I think they kept my part for resale. Be careful when dealing with these people . 000000stars

Very bad experience with this particular pepboys, went there for a valve stem replacement because i had a leak in the stem so i let pepboys replace it (stem)for now mind you this has a sensor in it all i asked them to do was replace the valve stem to do that you have to unscrew the sensor so they did that and replaced the valve stem instead of speaking with the customer about the sensor the worker in turns throws the sensor and the valve stem away. Now if you took the sensor off you should have gave it to the customer to get fixed at a later date which was explained to the cashier but instead they threw it away or put it in their pocket for resale now it has cost me $213. 00 to get a new sensor and have it put on. i really feel that was poor judgement on the behalf of pepboys how would the customer know if the sensor was still on, no i wouldnt know anything about that nor i would know to ask for the part back i was told it was throw away because i didnt ask for the sensor back, but being that pepboys was a highly recommended place i would think they would have addressed the customer. So no you will not get one star from me and i will never recommend to anyone nor return to pepboys. I really feel robbed from pepboys in Bessermer, Alabama on Academy Drive. I was there in town for the weekend i will never return nor i will never forget this experience with pepboys.

Awful place to go too for any service they refuse to remove 1 strip lug nut for me... I called several times and they hung up in my face the supervisor then turns around and say they refuse to do any service because the car is leaking gas when not... Very very poor service... I mean 1 lug nut really...

Just had my oil changed but it took too long because of the customers but they could have used a couple of their other mechanics to play catch up
