The location off of Telegraph Ave in Berkeley is by far my favourite location. The location Im speaking of is right across the street from Whole Foods Market. Ive been coming here for what seems like almost 5 years now. Everyone there is very charismatic, extremely helpful and you can tell they truly care about every one of their patients. Jessica is an amazing dentist. She has really put a lot of care and attention to detail in her work whilst working with me. I highly recommend doing business with this location 100%.

You are definitely treated like a number here, yup like a number when you go to the DMV. The actual dental work is fine, but very COSTLY. Once you get past the circus (front desk), rude, loud talking, non caring receptionists, you get your dental work done for 3 times the average price. I found another dentist that actually cares about me as person & my needs. Having 8 locations makes them unorganized & too fast paced. Right after getting a major surgery, the dentist runs over to the next patient without even taking a breath. Please find another ONE location dentist, you wont regret it.

I love the care I receive here. Diane, my hygienist, is always really great and does the best work for me she can every time, and I appreciate it. Sometimes people just do what they have to and “get it done”. But she’s always engaged with me, talking, and also talking about my oral health.She always goes above and beyond- and even though I may not be comfortable dealing with issues I’ve let get out of hand, but I appreciate her guiding me and giving me the facts. If I don’t listen it’s not sweat off her back but I also want to hear the professional guidance to stay as healthy as I can or get healthier.She’s great and I’ve had a great experience with everyone there. Ashley up front is great and a sweetheart- she’s always caring and doing what she can for me and I am so grateful to have that in places that are about my health and well-being!I just appreciated them both- amd the whole team!

This review is for the location in berkeley, I was there for a consultation and to be honest they were nice to me, however they were not clear about my case and the about the pricing, I told them that I am interested in aligning my teeth and they wanted me to first take care of all cavities before scheduling an appointment with an orthodontics, they did everything including X-Ray and they give me an estimate and the doctor decided to do all the fillings at once, it was on friday April 10th 2021 when they did only one side and I asked the doctor what about the other side he replied to me and he said you wanna do the other side too, let me take a look and he started checking me again like it was the first time he sees me, and they gave me another estimate for the left side, I tried to talk to them about not being clear since day 1, I was not happy about their services because they overcharged me as well as not being clear about the pricing. what surprised me more was how they gave me misleading information and after I started the treatment they started asking for more money, even the orthodontist I went to after that was surprised and refused to do anything unless I finished all the fillings on the other side. these people were not professional at all. if you dont have clarity you have nothing.

This is for the emeryville location specifically. I went in for a root canal this morning that I had put off way too long because of a deep dental phobia. Dr. Amanda and her assistant were the kindest and most understanding human beings. I was terribly nervous but they eased my nerves and the procedure was as quick as it could have been and pain free. If I ever need a root canal again I’ll request Dr. Amanda. Hopefully I don’t though :). Also, no one offered me free stuff to write this review, as some others have said. This was my actual experience.

Dishonest. Lied about being all dentists being network (in October), despite me talking to a financial planner and asking that question 5 times. Completely washed their hands of it when I received the bill. Now I understand why they said that I have to pay first before verifying coverage ...

Thorough cleaning with very kind and considerate hygienist who gave me recommendations about where to spend more time brushing based on the appearance of my gums. Dr. Jessica was also great. I felt confident that she knew what she was talking about.

My dentist appointment was rescheduled or canceled three times without my consent. When the day of my appointment came, they had canceled it without me knowing and didnt tell me they didnt take my dental insurance when I filled out my paperwork prior to my appointment. After more then a decade of avoiding dentists, I finally had to go back. Extreme pain and discomfort from a broken tooth revealed itself to be much more serious than I thought. Everyone here was so kind and understanding of my “dental-phobias” and were extremely supportive.Catalina was absolutely amazing to me and made me feel so at ease. I felt like I had the best possible person next to me the whole time, comforting me. The procedure, with a lot involved and multiple teeth, was done quickly and about as gently as I can imagine. They numbed me up quick and right the first time, popped some headphones on me, let me blast some jams and even gave me some wrap around sunglasses to help me zone out.I can’t stress enough how wonderful this place was and I’ll be back regularly.Thanks a lot everyone and special thanks to Catalina! 💙💙💙

I normally work 6days a week, 12 hours a day. It’s very hard for me to come into the dentist. When I finally had time to come in for a crown it was on my vacation. It’s been really hard for me to set an appointment to have the crown put in. Dr. Jessica came in on a Saturday for me knowing my situation even though she doesn’t normally work on saturdays. When I came in on that Saturday, the crown from the lab didn’t fit. So she decided to make me a crown in the office. She stayed late with me after the office was closed, mostly all the other employees already left and finished my crown so I didn’t have to miss another day of work. I’ve never had a dentist go above what they needed to do and she did it without a question. She really took care of me. And I LOVE my crown

Very good cleaning. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Been a patient for over ten years. Highly professional and into holistic dentistry.Just had a crown replacement December 27, 2018, and it was great and they make the crown on a very cool high tech machine. Doctor Jessica is very skilled and always caring about my well being.Have been working toward implants on the upper left and lower right sides and have been treated very compassionately and professionally. Dr Connors is extremely caring and goes out of his way to makes the experience as pleasant as could be expected. The staff at the downtown Oakland office is very competitive and professional.

So, Austin Ten was fantastic! It was very gentle and very informative of all things related to dental health! He also checked in with me throughout the whole process to ensure I was doing ok!

Really went downhill after Holly weiber (wieber?) left. Ive been going there since the early 90s. Now I have to find a dentist that knows how to keep appointments. I think the actual dental work was fine. I only had like a few cavities filled. 1 star out of 5.

My overall experience here was amazing, it was very easy to book an appointment and they were able to work with my schedule. Not to mention that their stuff is awesome they provided great service and answered all my general and insurance questions. I definitely will be referring people to them.

Tiffany is an absolutely EXCELLENT hygienist. She consistently provides the most thorough, gentle and friendly cleanings I have ever had. I love every visit with her.My experience with the front desk staff was quite challenging though. Its helpful to know what treatments are recommended, but this should never be communicated with pressure or as if the patient doesnt have choice.

Pls read if youre seriously considering this dentist. My experience with them was horrible. I’m sharing this b/c there are better dentists in the area & I don’t want someone to go through the trouble I did.I went to them because they had an immediate opening to fix a chipped tooth. Dr. Jessica fixed my tooth on a Wed. & told me to wait to Mon. to see if I needed a root canal.. she didn’t check if the tooth was already dead (I learned later that’s a vital step). I called them Fri. to tell them my tooth was graying more--they scheduled me for a root canal the following Mon. & a teeth cleaning later. On Mon., I was with another dentist who checked if my tooth was dead. I told her about my accident & she was surprised Dr. J didn’t check if my tooth was dead. They quoted $500 for me after insurance. I was shocked by the amount b/c I’ve had root canals for much less. While I was trying to think it over/call my dad, the dentist & assistant were right there staring at me & I honestly felt pressured to make a decision asap. With other dentists, the routine was checking my teeth, having pricing explained thoroughly, then giving me a moment to decide. Not the case here. They then told me if I waited longer my tooth was going to gray out more so I panicked & said yes even though they didnt explain the pricing. After my root canal, they said I had to come in again to get the tooth/hole filled. So my next appt. was for a cleaning, full exam, filling, & polish the fixed tooth b/c it was uneven. An assistant took X-Rays & she said I would discuss everything with Dr. J. Dr. J then literally gives me a “full exam” in 2 min. No questions or chance to ask any. I told the assistant I didn’t get everything done nor discuss other items with Dr. J bc she came in/out quickly. She gets Dr. J & I tell her about the pain on my teeth & she basically brushed it off as nothing. I was so shocked at how all this was going that I didn’t ask about the polish or filling. During check out, they said the filling would be ANOTHER $325 to get done! Not once did they mention that when I was getting my root canal. A total of $1325 to get a root canal. When I call my insurance to check pricing, I learned the dentist (in-network) submitted my root canal as out-of-network & thats why I paid $500 of $1000. For in-network, my insurance covers 80%--I should’ve paid $200. Also learned that they overcharged me for the initial procedure.So I called them to relay first the root canal issue. They told me their dentist that does the work is a specialist & that’s why its out-of-network. They didn’t bother to explain this to me in the beginning. I assumed it was in-network b/c theyre an in-network dentist & I was getting my root canal in the same office. I confirmed they were in-network before booking with them. I argued for a refund for the root canal, especially b/c I still needed to get my tooth filled since they didn’t do that as part of the root canal. They basically said no & offered to fill my tooth for free since it costs $325 (before insurance) to do it. I said no b/c I was fed up & w/ insurance that would come out

Best experience at a dentist, ever. Everyone was friendly, kind, intelligent. Dr. Sarah walked me through my x-rays and taught me about tooth enamel, remineralizing my teeth, and dentin. Such a collaborative and supportive team that clearly wants to keep your mouth healthy, not just fill cavities. They even have a library of holistic dental books you can borrow for free as a member :)

Dr. Jessica and her team at the Berkeley office are excellent. They’re professional, efficient, and good people. I miss Dr. Holly after she retired but feel confident I’m receiving the same kind of optimal care of my teeth and gums now.

Only had xrays done here thus far but..that was the MOST painful set of xrays ever!! i have bone growths near my tongue so when the dental x ray person took those xrays, it was so painful that not only did i wanna cry, but i was about to get up and LEAVE!! i kept telling her that it hurt, but she kept saying, almost done. almost done was about 20 xrays later..really??? I am in my mid 50s, partially tattooed, had a natural childbirth, been teaching for over 30 years, single, and strong..i KNOW PAIN and this was most unbearable!!!!! I still have some dental work to be done so i dont know what they can and cannot do well but xrays are NOT one of them. after the ONE cavity is filled, i am NOT going back:(

Pricier than other offices in the area (even though California dentistry prices are pretty high already, this place is still pricier!) so I would only go here if you don’t need significant work done and just need checkups or things your insurance will cover. My husband needed some work done and we called tons of offices and went somewhere else that had more average pricing. Also, my teeth and gums are in great shape (the dentist even commented on it and so did the hygienist, and I floss daily) and yet my routine cleaning was pretty painful. I kept giving feedback to the hygienist (she was jamming the floss into my gums really hard, which made them bleed) and she didn’t adjust. I am not going to go back because it was so uncomfortable. This place offers lots of “complimentary” nice things like massages and acupuncture, which is clearly subsidized by over-diagnosing and charging a lot for every procedure!

Ive been going there 4 years now, and Ive always been very satisfied with the results. The office is friendly, professional, and resilient to my tendency toward perfection in the detail. So just by the latter, these guys are amazing. Ive recommended several friends/peers to this office.

This dental office is fantastic! Wonderful customer service from the receptionist to the hygienists to Dr. Thomas himself. They accommodated my schedule, they are very gentle with procedures, Dr. Thomas himself makes follow-up calls to assure you are doing well after appointments. Total health dental care is truly fantastic. Ive been to a few different dentists here, and they are all considerate, skilled, and thorough. Ive struggled on-and-off with a chipped tooth for over a decade, and many dentists Ive seen throughout that time have done really poor quality fillings on it that break off in just days. I used to see a dentist on University Ave in Berkeley, right near campus, who would fix up my tooth and then it would come out in two or three days. He told me my only option was to go for veneers. But, the first dentist I saw here at Total Health fixed me up and its been perfectly fine since then, no breaks or chips. Really good stuff.

Wonderful staff, and Dr. Jessica took a lot of time to explain my status and made a good plan with me. Highly recommended!

Another 5 Star visit to my dental team in Berkeley! Finally ordered a night guard. Shocked to find that my insurance actually covered most of the cost.Ashley rush ordered it, since I have to eventually drive the 129 miles home one of these days!!I breezed in, the whole team was there; Taylor, Ashley, Dr. Cooper, Andiara, Diane & Gail. Night Guard fits like a glove, much more comfortable than I had expected. I actually think I might be able to wear it regularly!!Dr Cooper says that if everyone brushed, flossed properly and wore a night guard, there would be half the dental problems. So once again I say, if you want a top shelf dental experience, go to Total Health Dental Care in Berkeley!

This Place Saved My Sanity.I had a dead pulp in one of my molar that caused tremendous pain in my sinus and face. It was like someone stabbed a knife into my cheek and twist it back and forth. I couldnt sleep and had to keep an ice cube on that tooth throughout the night. In the morning I called around but no one would take me in the same day....except Total Health. I went in and Dr Jessica Ngo was able to diagnosed which tooth caused the pain. After a few x-rays she eventually find that my pulp was the culprit. She removed the pulp and after the numbness went away there was no pain at all. I dont think I could have gone through another night with that pain. She end up doing a root canal and I couldnt be happier. Ive been to a few other dental offices and I can say that Total Health is by far the friendliest and most caring. Ive had some quotes from other places for a crown that far exceeds what this office charged me for fixing my tooth and saving my sanity. I cant thank Dr Ngo enough.

Dentistry is not my favorite thing to have to deal with. With that said, may you be so fortunate as to cross paths with folk in that work that really work for you. So far, one cleaning, one extraction and two fillings that went as well as can be expected. The post extraction prescription pain pills were not needed. Their approach is straight forward letting you know what can and cant be done and what to expect. Perks of dealing with these folk is a chair massage and an on staff nutritionist. Ill let you know about the massage after I get it.

I needed a crown on one of my teeth. Dr. Jessica Ngo and her assistant, Mao did a 5 star + job! Mao was very attentive and caring; Dr. Jessica also not only showed compassion, but communicated well (as did Mao) describing each step of the process. They made this almost an enjoyable experience! I was a patient of Dr. Holly Wieber for 25 years and continued with Total Health when she retired as Tiffany, the hygienist who has performed routine cleanings on me for years and Andiara, efficient and friendly office manager, were retained by Total Health Dental, Now that I have met and been treated by Dr. Jessica and Mao, I have made my final decision to continue receiving dental care from this office. Kudos also to the rest of the staff--they are all super friendly and efficient.

Bruh Dr Lavorini is the S***!! The whole staff there is pretty awesome though. It’s clean the vibes are good and it doesn’t have that terrible dentist office smell! I hate the dentist but he made me feel super comfortable from the beginning. Not creepy comfortable but like hey I know what I’m doing I’m not gonna have you in more pain than you need to be in and I’m not gonna tell you you need stuff done just to run up your pockets. I finally had to get my wisdom teeth pulled and everybody had me terrified with stories but when they asked how much mine hurt my response is “I didn’t even notice it until the third one was coming out”Fast forward a few days I have normal “healing pains” but I’m definitely not dying. So basically he’s the only oral surgeon I’m letting near my mouth!They took my weak Delta dental insurance plan but they also offer financing and discounts for paying in full upfront and even have in house insurance... soooo go get your teeth fixed😁

This is a group practice owed by a dentist with multiple offices for the past 10 years or so. Ive been going here for 30 years since it was a one-person practice (sold on his retirement). There has been some turnover of dentists at the Telegraph office but this hasnt affected the quality of care. I am pretty knowledgeable about dental care and the dentists have all been friendly, thorough, communicative and very competent, the current one being excellent. The practice is clean, bright,well-run and has been updated with the latest equipment. The front office staff are all pleasant and helpful. The practice also has some holistic service options including occasional free chair massage for patients - a nice perk.unfortunately the practice is gone from Delta dental PPO to premiere and now out of network so copays are higher. So bad experience, first the doctor see me 20 min late, after Dr.Jessika cane she cheated me very fast and careless, then said ok I will go to call the root soecispeci,I waited, she didnt or anyone come back!!,I asked the nurse she told me to root specialist not available,ok why you didnt tell me!!!,Dr.Jessika never come again, its worse experience,never go this office.
