I had a massage by Dan and let me tell you, it was amazing. Not only was the work he did spectacular but the energy and vibe in the studio was perfect! 10 out of 10 would recommend!!!

I was not expecting a same day appointment for a cut and color when I called this morning but I spoke to Rob over the phone and he was able to get me in today! The amount of knowledge and vision he has in his work is truly amazing! I had purple/blue hair about a year ago and after a round of bleach (not at this salon) it still had some green tint in it and I just wanted to have my entire head a natural color again. Rob had ideas throughout the cut and color on what would look best on my hair and would ask what I thought about them while insuring that it was 100% up to me if I wanted him to do it that way. His confidence and obvious knowledge in his field allowed me to let him run with his ideas and I could not be more pleased with the outcome! He explained his process at every step of the coloring experience and why it would be best suited for my hair. He has gained a long term client after today. Thanks Rob!

Rob was great! I havent felt this good leaving a hair salon in 20 years. In fact, I dont think Ive ever felt this good leaving a hair salon. I was impressed by his knowledge on hair growth, factors affecting my current hairs condition, game plan for my hair in the future, and his expertise with both curly hair as well as thin hair. Im verklempt. Thank you, Rob, for the spirit lifter and morale boost I so badly needed.😭🙏💖

Robert Flanagan offered to consult with me and he was the rudest stylist, correction, person I have ever met. He seemed annoyed to have me in his presence from the second I walked in to the moment he decided he would ...pass, because I dont like your vibe.In my opinion he is a liability to the salon. There are others stylists like Allison who are very welcoming. Unfortunately Robert made it so unpleasant that I will not return to Roots Salon.

Deanna, in regards to Jessica the bride that was left in tears after her makeup was just freshly finished was Hayley. She basically had a sorry about your luck attitude. Once her “friend” wasn’t able to fill in for her mistake she was finished with the conversation. As the mother of the bride having my daughter be upset on one of the most important days of her life was heartbreaking. Especially when appointments are made in advance knowing how busy wedding season is. Your daughter is supposed to be pampered on her wedding day .. not forced to downgrade to a Walmart. (Which on a normal day wouldn’t be even considered acceptable for a trim )Lucky for her, given Haley’s mistake, four girls at Walmart worked on my daughters hair to try to make up time lost.I understand mistakes happen but that mistake was unacceptable and unprofessional.

They never answered their phone for me to make an appointment.

Heather is so sweet and fun to talk to BUT she completely messed up my hair. Ive only hated my hair this much one other time and that’s because of how bad it was. I don’t like giving bad reviews because I feel that everyone deserves another chance and some people mess up but man she messed up A LOT. I cannot stand my hair. She doesn’t know her colors very much.

I’ve waited about a month to post this because I wasn’t sure if I was going to, but I feel like people should know what they’re getting when they schedule an appointment here. I had my mother make my hair and makeup appointments for my wedding because she’s great at finding the best. My mother confirmed a time and the business with the girl when she scheduled it. The day of my wedding, I texted the girl doing my hair and asked if she’d like me to come early since my makeup was finished earlier than expected. The girl told me that she isn’t at the salon and doesn’t usually work Saturday’s... I was hoping it was a joke. She said that there was no way she could do it. I wouldn’t have written a review had it just been getting highlights or a trim.. but this was my wedding day! Anybody who’s gotten married knows that your hair and makeup are what gives you the most anxiety as is. The girl tried asking one of her friends if she had time, but she didn’t. She basically just apologized and wished me luck finding somebody at that point. I will say this, the girl apologized and took ownership once she realized what she had done. Apparently she forgot to put it in her calendar. I was trying to stay calm and positive thinking maybe I would’ve died on the way or maybe she wouldn’t have done that great of a job anyway, but you can only do that for so long. After calling approximately 40 salons, the salon in the Redmond Walmart was able to get me in. Imagine going into Walmart on your wedding day in a robe to get your hair done! I was so incredibly stressed at this point and I just needed it done. The girls were nice and did a great job. So moral of the story.. don’t schedule an appointment here if actually being able to get your hair done is important to you, she basically ruined my wedding day.

Stylist, Shae created a color and cut today that made my day. She listens to my requests and always delivers high quality service. Shae has a flexible schedule and always seems to get me in when I need a lift ❤️

The salon is my favorite in town. The ladies are knowledgeable and always so supportive which make it feel like youre walking into a friends house.I personally have Hannah Spencer do my cuts and colors and she is an artist with loads of talent. So much so I have been seeing her since 2016.

Victoria at Roots Salon is amazing. She does that natural looking sun kissed blond extremely well. Plus she is super nice and the salon location is convenient. Thumbs up.

Ali Mills is by far the best stylist I have ever been to!!!! She transformed my hair and made me made feel amazing! She is more than just good with hair...she is an artist. She knows what would work for you and what wont and how to acheive any hair goals you have. She is current on all beauty trends...I mean...ALL. She is a beauty guru. If I was rich enough Id hire her full time just to have me look fabulous 24/7. Shes seriously that good and I trust her opinion 100%. I asked for bangs, she made sure I was certain, made some great recommendations and did a phenomenal job. Im extremely happy with my look and with my friends telling me that I look 5 years younger. Allison is amazing! I got a cut and color. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she made that picture a reality!! Not only that but she is just amazing and really makes sure everything is how you like it. And she even checked in a week later to make sure I was still enjoying my hair cut amazing!

I go to Hannah, shes amazing. I got an undercut from her and she has done nothing but make me feel so much better about losing a lot of my hair. I love going to see her. Shes reasonably priced and does an amazing job!

Made an appointment just a few minutes ago at 3 pm, and after reading some reviews I was a bit concerned about who was going to do my hair so I called back. I spoke with Rob very rude from the second he picked up and frankly Im not surprised after reading his reviews 🤣 Needless to say I will not be showing for my 3 pm trim.

Hannah is our stylist for our two children. Although children my not be her selected speciality she is amazingly patient and does a far better job than any children’s salon that we have been to. We highly recommend Hannah for her creativity, talent and her professionalism.

Went in asking to go as light as I could without damaging or being brassy. Crystal lightened my hair to the point I had no choice but to cut it (She said it was the most damage she’s ever seen). Then cut my hair way too short to the point I didn’t even really have a reaction, I was in shock. Ended up crying in my car. Left my hair with a blue tint, which she said would wash out. It did and ended up being yellow and orange colored. She was not very nice when I mentioned how I was feeling a day later. I’m still very disappointed considering she told me she’s “Not in it for the money”. How would anyone feel in a situation like this if the tables were turned?

Ali Mills made going to my natural hair color far less frightening than I thought it would be. My hair looks and feels amazing!! She can do anything with hair color!! A true artist! Great work Ali!

Do not go to roots if you don’t want to spend $250 on huge stains and dark blue hair. I booked an appointment with Crystal Beebe, who I had gone to a number of times and even sent friends to with referrals, because I had always been pleased with her work. However, this time was different. I understand that mistakes happen and that hair is not a perfect science, but the primary reason I will not be going back to this salon is because of how I was treated as a client. I asked for icy blonde hair, I spent $250, and have never been talked to so disrespectfully in my life. Crystal took 5 hours to do my hair, meanwhile she ate food, vaped, and argued with her boyfriend (who held my hair while she distractedly painted the color on). During the process got very nervous and verbalized multiple times, “I’m kind of freaking out right now because it toned way too dark. I’ll try to correct it. At least I know for next time never to use that level toner again on your hair”. Again...I understand that mistakes happen. However by the end of the process, my hair ended up being dark gray/blue and had multiple areas of large obvious messy stains and splotches. She also spilled color on the hair between the foils and had to cut off a significant length because of it. I reached out to crystal and respectfully explained that it was not the job I had hoped for, and she immediately got very defensive and aggressive. All I was looking for was a simple “come back in and I will make it right!”...but instead she aggressively reassured me multiple times that I asked for GRAY hair- which I know I absolutely did not (I would never in a million years ask for gray/silver...I always have had blonde hair). She did offer to fix it, but only after being extremely rude and unprofessional, at which point I did not want to interact with her any longer as a customer because I was very uncomfortable. She ended up offering a refund, and when I said “yes please,” she wrote back “too late. I offered you one earlier and you said no” (this is not true). I talked to the manager about the situation, and their only solution was to go back to the stylist who did this and let her “fix it”... would you want someone who did a job like this coming near your hair again? She also spoke to me like an argumentantive employee, instead of like a customer. I hate to complain, but at the end of the day the stylist and the salon aren’t out $250 and don’t have to wake up looking ridiculous every morning. I am also in nursing school and have been reprimanded by my program because it is against policy to have unnatural hair colors for clinicals. I wish I didn’t have to post this, but if she had just refunded me so I could get it fixed by someone else, the problem would have been resolved then and there. 😕

I would not refer roots to anyone i went to brettney Catterlin she messed up on my hair then promised to fix it but turned around and cancelled 4 times on me. I filed a complaint to the the owner . Since then she is trying to start drama between me and my i laws super unprofessional.

Lindy does an amazing job. She is super friendly and professional but most of all does a great job with cut and color.

I scheduled a consultation with Jessica Wright and was extaxtic I found a person I thought I would like to do my hair. My appointment is suppose to be at Noon today, the day before Thanksgiving. I received a text message at 9am on the day of my appointment saying “Hi Brenda, I’m sorry I won’t be able to do your hair today after all. I have to drive my kids to Portlande in a couple hours unexpectedly. I won’t have any time in my schedule for several weeks, so I’m thinking another stylist would be a better fit for you. I apologize for the inconvenience. There are a ton of talented stylists in this town, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding someone. Hope you have a great holiday season. 😊”. Are you kidding me? It’s the holidays! You didn’t know you were traveling for Thanksgiving five days ago when we scheduled? What am I supposed to do now? She is NOT reliable. Don’t waste your time.

Ali is so intuitive about what looks good on me.The cut was exactly like the picture I brought and she was right . I’ve had many compliments . The color is amazing ! She even showed me how to manage it at home.

I have been to Roots in the past and had two awful experiences, once with a male stylist and the second time with a female hairstylist. The male hair stylist was rude, did not bother to ask me what kind of cut or color I wanted(I had won a free cut & color, so I guess he decided since he wasnt getting paid I should not get a sayin the matter).He barely spoke to me and once the color was applied went to wait on another client. Needless to say it was a miserable experience and I did not tip him or make another appointment. A couple of years later I was looking for a new hair stylist, and this female stylist was recommended for short hair cuts. Big mistake. She didnt listen to one word I said and butchered my hair. It was another awful mistake and I will not go back there.

Worst haircut in my life by Rob Flannigan. Its a year later and the ugly disconnected shelf he created on my head is still significant and pisses me off almost every day. I went in with long, healthy one-length hair (I spent 2 deliberate years growing it out for a clean canvas) asked for simple light layers, showed him a picture of EXACTLY what I was wanting, which he confidently (cockily) assured me he knew how to do it and I (regrettably) let him go for it. Huge mistake on my part. HUGE. It took me a day for the extent of the chop job on my head to register. When a friend shared my horrified response to the mess on my head, I reached out to him to clarify my cut and maybe show me how to style it because I didnt get it. Client feedback in a service industry. It happens. I was completely professional about it. His response was beyond defensive and jerky. Instead of staying calm and professional and trying to make it right by the customer, perhaps meet with me to fix it, he instead became accusatory and offensive, telling me my expectations were too high. I was NOT difficult at the hair appt, yall, quite the contrary. I had thanked and tipped him when I left. Even hugged him! The problem was that didnt look closely at my reflection in the salon because...it was awkward. Also, Id been accustomed to excellent, honest stylists most of my life (out of town) and wronglyassumed he deserved such trust. All I wanted was light layers. Didnt get em. Grossly and sadly so. His customer service and attitude were/are appalling. The dude can cut hair (so can you or I), but styling is definitely not his forte. My recommendation is stay away from Rob...far away. He gets zero stars. That said, I heard other stylists at Roots are good. Do check them out.
