Very helpful and friendly lady at front desk helped with all my questions & was very patient & kind to my son and my granddaughter who was being challenging. I look forward to being able to get into our memberships.

Long story short.. I signed my daughter up to take swimming lessons for the mornings.. The first day we got there Sarah Kelly told me we have to come back in the evening because there was no one to teach my daughter at the time. I asked for a refund Sarah Kelly told me it will take 5 days so at this point it’s been 3 weeks. Sarah Kelly gave me the run around and ignored my calls and messages. So I had call my bank and do a dispute for the transaction to get my money back.

If there were a “zero star” to give, I surely would. We were signed up for the YMCA basketball course for the 2 present summer months. The scheduled practices were expected to be every Tuesday evening with games scheduled on Saturday mornings. The coach that we were assigned to missed a total of 3 practices thus far as well as a Saturday game. Again, summer is a very short season so this was nearly half of the time we expected. Concerned about the lack of participation on the coach’s behalf, I emailed the director of the sports program, Phillip Williams, to inform him of my concerns which in turn he told me that basically in so many words was not the YMCA’s problem, but instead the problem of the coach who I must keep in mind is not being compensated for her services being that she is a volunteer. However, because the payment was made directly to the YMCA it is also a poor reflection of how their programs work. If you are paid for something and you aren’t supplying that service, what are you even charging for? I’m beyond disappointed and in the future will not be using the YMCA’s services any longer. I advise anyone looking for a sports program to first do your research before paying your money towards it, especially at the YMCA since we now know that due to their coaches being volunteers there isn’t a contract demanding that they participate in practices or games. Instead they are able to choose what and when they want to participate with the paid program. $120 was flushed down the drain so be sure you know what you’re signing up for before using the Y.

Good to see that this location has renovated the flooring of the weight lifting area along with weight machines themselves. The lady/greater at the front was very helpful as well.

My first time at this location most staff not friendly but the guys near the pool were, they invited us to get in the pool. I have a family membership but this location not family friendly. I was told I have to bring my own basketball, also the little kiddy room my 5yr old and 10yr old couldn’t go in there because a staff member said no one in there to watch the kids. I didn’t feel welcome at all, I left right away. This location is around the corner from where I live but I’d rather go elsewhere.

The Paula Manship YMCA has an awesome staff, the facility is clean and inviting with very updated equipment. There is a program designed to meet all age groups and needs. Great location also! I recommend this location for your total fitness needs.

We love Paula G. Manship YMCA! My boys have attended Summer camps, holiday camps, after school and before care, and just recently, basketball academy. The staff and counselors have been like big brothers and sisters to my boys and have given them the support and encouragement they needed during difficult transitions and have also been there to celebrate their accomplishments and growth over the last three years. These are the most caring and responsible individuals I could ask for to care for my children while I work. We are truly blessed to have them here for us and I thank God for them every day

Great facility that includes tennis, swimming, baskerball, and practice for baseball. Staff are helpful. There is child care. And the weight and cardio equipment are good. A nice place to stay healthy.

The Manship YMCA is a fun, friendly, and very comfortable place to stay active and keep moving! I love the Active Older Adult class; it seems more “active” than “older” and Jo does a fantastic job of pushing us to do our best while making it fun and welcoming for anyone who comes.

I love going to the YMCA Manship! In fact, Im closer to the AC Lewis branch, but I travel the extra 5-10 minutes to go to this location because I like the facility and the class schedule so much! Building and grounds are clean and modern. Plenty of parking even during their busiest hours. Enough equipment and space to accommodate their members. Friendly and helpful staff. The group class room provides a great atmosphere and I love the classes they offer. The only reason I gave this branch 4 stars is because I think their bathroom/lockeroom doesnt quite compare to the rest of the building. They also do not have a sauna or whirlpool like the AC Lewis does. Otherwise, wonderful gym!

The guests who attend the Y are respectful and polite. They understand that I go to work out and not socialize.

I am much impressed by their friendly staff who mainly work around the swimming pool. What a great facility!!!

Great facility. However, the pool employees demonstrate low levels of maturity. I would describe it as a lack of professionalism and customer courtesy, but my observation was a work group appearing to have an average age of 16 or 17. I dont really expect high level professionalism from teens, but I due expect maturity, an ability to communicate at an adult level, and all around attentiveness to paying members experience and safety.SAFETY, reasonable care, and perception of risk come at a premium, and that starts with proper staffing and management of employees. Understanding the YMCA branches are not operating on heavy margins, low wage part-time and temporary employees are understandable. In this case, more involvement from competent persons, not warm bodies on summer break, is definitely desired.

There are two pools, but one is rarely open. The other is used by lap swimmers and swim lesson instructors. It is hard to go with children. This is not the place to go as a mom with young children; I was told that my three year old son could not accompany me and my daughters into the dressing room (there is only one). I had nowhere for him to use the bathroom as i could not send him into the mens bathroom alone. If there is even a hint of thunder, the pool will be closed for a half an hour. It is not a family place at all. It costs extra to use the tennis courts. Ridiculous.

The lifeguards and front desk staffs are extremely kind and helpful except there’s a swimming instructor. When she has swimming lesson, she will not allow you to be in her lane. What upset me was she only uses a very small portion of her lane ( 3ft area). My kids are not allow to be in the other end. I don’t appreciated her response “ these people paid just as much as you, or that’s why we put the schedule on the sign”. My kids are literally afraid of this woman because they have heard her fussing at the pool.

My son played basketball and soccer here. Coaches were very nice and gave attention to all kids. Great environment for kids to be introduced to sports.

I love the hall team they are very friendly and caring but no AC running inside the gym I can’t continue my class so please put the AC on to feel comfortable and happy enjoy our class thanks 🙏

Im not yet a member. These people were nice enough to allow a couple Cub scouts to complete some swimming requirements for a small fee. Extremely helpful staff and my membership status should soon change.

The people that work at this YMCA are helpful and friendly. I enjoy the great variety of classes, and upgraded work out equipment. The YMCA cares about its clients and the community.

Nice pool. Summer programs for kids expensive and not nearly long enough. They barely get started and then they are over and nothing more available for the rest of the summer. Prices quite high for what you get.

Even after explaining I just drove in from Devils Tower in North Wyoming (22hrs, 1600 miles) and all I needed to do was take a shower because I had a hire in with a company just up the road and was driving back out after... all I need is a shower...Didnt matter.You have to either be a member or accompany one. There are no day passes to purchase.YMCA- Young Mans christian Association?And many christians wonder why people are just not interested anymore. Can you say...HYPOCRISY?I long for the day a return to true faith will happen. Till then organizations such as this sully the ideals espoused by true Christians.

Giving 3 stars only because the child care facility is sooooo small. Need to upgrade for sure. Also the equipment in the weight room is aging and the facility just dosent smell good.

We like the facility and programs, especially swimming pools, tennis courts and related programs for children and adults. The coaching exercises with detailed instructions are also important for new beginner

My niece attended summer camp a couple of years ago at the Paula G Manship YMCA location. I was very impressed by the professionalism, empathy, and service she and I received while attending. I highly recommend this great facility.

I belong to it and do water aerobics when I Can. It really helps.

The Summer Camp and pool have been excellent for our twins!

I spent years at Anytime Fitness but recently switched to the Y. It is a much better gym for the same price! As long as you dont need to work out at 2am all the time, you will be happy here.

Most Friendly Members and Staff!. My first encounter was a warm and friendly greeting by the front desk staff. I went to the Manship Y to continue Zumba with Tania who is an awesome instructor that moved from Pennington to this Y. I have continued to do Zumba at Manship because their Zumba instructors are so motivating that you forget your exercising. We have a great group that has developed into many friendships.If you been wanting to try Zumba this is the place!

Not bad facility, equipment is older and smaller weight room but the dumbbells go to 145lbs so you get in work.

Rude rude rude rude rude. Here are a few other words that come to mind when recalling the service here: self- righteous, prejudice, racist, pretentious, snooty, inept, boorish, and ungracious. Utter disbelief fills the mind that such revile and rebuke permeate a facility bearing the name of Paula Manship. To think that membership was on the radar...it is no more, nor ever will it be.
