My first crossfit gym. Taught me the fundamentals to get stronger and faster. Helped me physically perform better overall.
So I just joined CrossFitBR 3 weeks ago. Im 51, and I decided to try something new to shake up my fitness (which Ive struggled with more recently). I did some research, but basically went in blindly. From the moment I walked in, I had a good feeling. Dwayne sat down with me for an extended period of time to explain CF, and generally made me feel relaxed, without a hard sell. I contemplated briefly and decided to just do it. Then came my initial one-to-one training with Christian. What an awesome guy! Talk about knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. Then I started group classes. Not going to lie, its a whole new learning curve. CrossFit has its own culture and language. Im a little bit a deer in headlights right now. However, Im enjoying this new experience. The coaching staff, Dwayne, Amanda, Christian, and Taylor are amazing. Im learning so much and trusting their guidance. And I must add for those who are considering CF and have doubts....I am VERY much a beginner. But that does not matter. All moves/routines/exercises are scaled to your fitness level. I do not feel intimidated at all. I feel encouraged.Now, I know its early in the game, but I think Ive found something amazing. All the people are great, staff and clients. I did not expect the sense of community Im already experiencing, and I imagine it will only get better.Just felt compelled to give a shout-out to a a place that Im really excited about. It is definitely only the beginning of my journey, but I think Ive happened upon something that I will embrace for a long time. I feel better already, and Im excited for my current and future progress.
When I moved back to BR, I wanted to continue CrossFit and needed to find a box to do so. A lot of people at my old box recommended Crossfit BR. I did my research and decided to go with this box because I really liked the programming which consisted of combining weight training along with the WOD. I was very impressed with how much care and attention that all the coaches gave. They wanted to see you improve and made sure you were performing the movements correctly. They look for incentives to encourage you to come workout, they have built an incredible and encouraging community and the coaches are incredibly helpful when it comes to the training. If you are wanting to start CrossFit or are already doing crossfit, I highly recommend CrossFit BR!!!!
When I came to this gym I was extremely out of shape and my motivation for fitness was at an all time low. Dwayne, his coaches and the incredible community he fosters completely changed this. I have been coming consistently for over a year and I am in some of the best shape of my life. I am apart of something I absolutely love. I am a proud member of the 5am club and it is the best part of my day. The workouts are fun and safe. The coaches won’t let you down and encourage safe development with excellent coaching. The price is extremely fair for the attention you receive and the impeccable equipment I am allowed to use. If I could give this gym 10 stars, I would.

Outstanding coaching and facilities!! On my 4th year with this crew and cant imagine working out anywhere else. The focus is on quality movements. Not how much weight you can move, not how fast you can go. Proper form, staying healthy and injury free and having a good time doing it! Our coaches are the best!!
Excellent coaches and facility. They have top of the line equipment and it is very well organized, which I really liked. The owner, Dwayne, is extremely knowledgeable about CrossFit, and all of the movements that he teaches. In addition, they have a great on-boarding program (which they refer to as 101) that allows a new athlete to slowly progress and get in shape without injuring themselves! Great place and people.
I was very hesitant to start CrossFit because I thought you had to be in amazing shape to do it, but the coaches here have been so helpful to scale things to what I can do and help me improve! Everyone here is encouraging and uplifting. Could not recommend CrossFit BR more!

Love being a part of CrossFit BR. Coaches are great at finding your fitness level to start and working with you to improve in whatever area/goals you have for yourself and doing it safely. Never looking back.
Ive been going to CrossFit BR for a little over a year now. I started when I was stuck in probably the worst shape of my life and now Im stronger than Ive ever been. The coaches are very knowledgeable and help you understand the movements so that you may reach your goals without injuring yourself. In fact, the Crossfit 101 program was great in helping me build up to the Rx movements. The owner, Dwayne, is probably one of the most dedicated people in the business. He is always encouraging and pushing us to do our best.In my opinion the best thing about CrossFit BR is the community. The support from the other members is incredible. That moment when you dont think you can go any further, youll have two or three members there cheering you on to finish. Then there are goals... We write our short and long term goals on the chalk board. It feels pretty great when youre able to move your goals reached to the other side of the board.I highly recommend CrossFit BR for anyone who is looking to start a crossfit routine as a beginner or even as an experienced athlete.
If your interested in having coaches making sure you are moving properly to help prevent injuries, keeping you accountable, getting great programming for all levels of ability then you are looking at the right place. I travel all over for work and attend many different crossfit boxes but nothing compares to this place. Highly recommend Crossfit BR.
Crossfit BR has been a life changer for me. I am able to do so many things that I use to say “I could never do that”. It makes me push myself to be a completely better version of myself. The coaching staff is amazing- they truly care and not only worry about that 1 hr and getting you in and out. They get to know you, they care, they take the time to keep you safe while still pushing you, and end up making that the best hour of your day! Lastly- the community is the best and probably the #1 drive that keeps me going every day. I have met the best of friends here. I was very insecure and hesitant to join at first but I was so pleased to walk into a supportive and completely non-judgemental environment. Couldn’t recommend CrossfitBR more! Come visit us :)
Dwayne and his coaches at Crossfit Br are amazing. They truly care about your health and fitness. Everything is organized to create a structured, safe, and fun environment to achieve your goals. The coaches are always paying attention to your form and offer amazing advice to help you improve, and I always get a good workout. I have grown SOOO much in my time at CFBR and it shows in my clothes, my confidence and my skills! If you are thinking about Crossfit and want a gym that offers something for every athletic skill level, CFBR is for you!
CrossFit BR coaches do a great job driving safety and community in every single workout. You can’t get a better workout anywhere else.

I joined CrossfitBR thinking I was going to try a different workout for a few months so I could get a little different workout. That was 19 months ago. The way I feel now compared to before is amazing. I had been working out for about 4 years before trying Crossfit and I thought I was in good shape. Now I feel better and am in much better physical shape.I was worried about trying Crossfit because I had heard people getting hurt and I have a couple of herniated discs in my back and neck. CrossfitBR does a great job of making sure while each person is doing the workouts they watch and coach you throughout the workouts to help you avoid injuries. There is no workout that can prevent 100% of anyones injuries but I will say I feel better than I have in a long time and am more confident that I wont get hurt because of the training I get and workouts we perform here.I would recommend anyone to CrossfitBR.
