I learned a lot from Sean, Andrew, and Kate in my 6 weeks training with them. Sean helped me to improve my diet in new ways. I improved my form on many movements and added a bunch of new workouts to my repertoire. At OPEX they take a holistic look at your health and make an individualized program for your goals. Touching on all aspects of health including, exercise, diet, sleep, hydration, timing, and so on. I highly recommend.

This is hands down the best gym experience I have ever had. Sean makes personalizes workouts that load into your app each week, so you know your workouts coming up. When you get to the gym, either Sean or one of the other great coaches will make sure you know what you are doing and are there to assist in anyway.Some nice things about the set up: never a massive amount of people since all clients of Sean and team; monthly appointments with Sean to go over progress and any roadblocks, over just nice people here.Highly recommend

After not being able to exercise for over 3 years, OPEX Baltimore and Coach Sean welcomed me exactly where I was with no pressure to be anything but what I was. I was looking to make a positive, sustainable change, and Seans comprehensive, highly personalized approach to fitness is perfect.The environment that Sean has cultivated is welcoming and supportive while also geared to push you forward. Coach Andrew and Adam are experienced, encouraging, and constructive. Gym members are of diverse backgrounds and fitness levels.Ive had such a positive experience at OPEX that I have a hard time thinking about ever leaving Baltimore because this is as good as it gets in terms of health focused, no BS, customized, safe fitness.

THIS IS THE BEST KEPT GYM SECRET IN BALTIMORE! I joined this gym about 3 months ago after spending the past 4 years at various other gyms throughout the City. As soon as you walk through the door, you know this is the place for you. Whats great about this gym is not only the atmosphere, the personalized exercise and weight training programs developed by the coaches, but also the different skill levels and types of people. Theres no judgement here. A coach is always on the floor to assist you with form and technique. Whats also great about the gym is Coach Sean. Hes a former D1 coach who knows how to motivate individuals to get you to give your maximum effort. OPEX Baltimore has changed my life and outlook about fitness. I highly recommend you check this gym out. You will not be disappointed!

I’m a full time working mom of 2; meeting the needs of my family and finding time for personal care and fitness can be challenging. In the past 4 years of seeing my two kids grow Ive certainly sacrificed weeks of not working out or taking this time for myself. At OPEX Baltimore my fitness program is tailored to my needs. I can get my training in, feel good about myself, and still feel confident about my roles of running a household of two small kids. My bodyweight has gone up and down as I grew two babies and shared my body with them. I’ve received excellent advice on nutrition for breastfeeding moms, nutrition during pregnancies, and now am receiving advice on nutrition so I have the energy for two small kids. The coaches are amazing, the community so welcoming, with one common goal of bettering lives.

I joined OPEX Baltimore South about a year ago and OPEX coaches (Sean, Andrew and Adam) are very knowledgeable and personable coaches. This program is personalized to you as the individual which is great! I know I cant do alot of the exercises like I use to when I was younger. They have alternative exercises if certain parts of your body hurts. Sean is very passionate about what he does and always listens to your concerns and provides suggestions to help his clients and does not judge. He also uses TrueCoach which a great app/site to keep track of your exercises and its a great way to communicate with you directly.

SBSC focuses on the whole person and builds an individualized program that factors in gym skills, nutrition, and lifestyle. The coaches want to make sure that you reach your goals and they have the knowledge and experience to get you to where you want to go, whatever your skill level.

For years, chronic shoulder pain and tightness had kept me from lifting weights and being physically active, which was something I had always really enjoyed. Not ready to give up on training, I turned to Sean to see if he could get me back to lifting and training pain free.Sean conducting a detailed assessment of where I was at and came up with a flexible plan to gradually get me out of pain and restriction and back to moving well and being able to enjoy training again. I’m stronger today than I have been at any point in my life and what was once a source of frustration has turned into a huge positive in my life. OPEX Baltimore, specifically Coach Sean McCullagh changed my whole perspective on fitness, nutrition and over all life balance. Ive been involved in a number of fitness programs, but nothing compares to OPEX’s wholistic individual approach. Opex Baltimore South is literally the best gym I have ever been a member of. I enjoy fitness, but usually had to quit the gym for months at a time due to chronic low back pain exacerbated by lifting too heavy and with improper form. Since joining Opex and training with Sean, I have been able to train without pain for over a year. Sean and all the coaches are super knowledgable and really work with you one on one to make sure you are meeting all of your health goals. In the last year and a half, I have lost around 15 pounds and almost 10% body fat. If you are looking for a long term, sustainable fitness solution, this is it. It is worth every penny.

Before starting with Sean and Opex I was pretty lost even though I had a lot of experience with weight training and CrossFit. I knew I needed a coach to come alongside me and help me bring my body and mind back to health rather than having different unfocused goals for every area of my life. Since joining Opex I have found the coaching I need to bring my life back into balance while incorporating healthy movements and good nutrition to fuel my body and mind for the demands life places on it. Sean has truly been a rock in a very unsteady season of my life and I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Great gym, great CrossFit Box. The coaches really put time and effort into the programming and I can vouch for the personal training there. Tons of classes available and all of the coaches are really smart on weightlifting form.

Ive been lifting at SBSC for 7 months and doing personalized training with Sean for 3.- The gym has a huge number of barbells and squat frames, so you never have to wait in line to do your lift.- While the gym looks like a crossfit, Seans training model is personalized, meaning he starts by doing a physical + lifestyle evaluation and discussing your goals, then designs a detailed fitness plan to get you there. So far Ive had really good results.- Sean can work with anyone (former D1 athletes, couch potatos, w/e).- They always have coaches present in the gym to help with form, answer questions and provide general assistance. This is a huge plus for people who are not former athletes and dont have a ton of direction when it comes to fitness/weightlifting.If youre looking for a gym in the Baltimore area, I would absolutely recommend stopping in to check it out.
