In Shape is clean, modern, full of great amenities, and has a helpful and friendly staff. Additionally, I enjoy their mobile app. I love the variety of equipment and the circuit training area. Its great to be able to enjoy a workout alone or with my family/fiends and there is a gym very close to my home.

Clean gym with a decent amount of equipment! The staff are all really lovely and helpful. I loved that I could sign up entirely online prior to arriving at the gym. It’s yet to be busy when I visit which I love too. I’m here for the summer and excited to explore all that my Blue membership has to offer.

I really like that there is no corner stare when your trying something new. and if your new on a machine, whomever you ask is quick to show and tell how to use the machine

Everything you need to get and stay in shape. Staff motivates you during your work out. Great parking. In process of completely reopening. Close too early on Saturday and Sunday.

The only thing I would like is the inside heated pool be a little warmer. Handicapped and older people would benefit

Superb gym with all latest equipment, staff are super friendly. Nice changing rooms, lockers and over all very well maintained. Kids play area is also available for a monthly minimum amount. Trainer and very friendly too and help you to explain well. Lots of parking space.

It has everything needed for a self-motivated person to keep physically fit. Its kept fairly clean. I didnt give it five stars because it could have more class options throughout the day and its not uncommon to want to use a piece of equipment but find it occupied. The staff are very friendly and the kid care is a very nice feature. Im glad I have a membership.

This is one of the best gyms Ive ever gone to. The staff is friendly and helpful, the equipment is kept clean and I love that it is on the newer side, and this is easily the coolest gym in Bakersfield. I never worry about working out when its 100+ degrees outside, because I know the temp inside this gym is comfortable. Also, the class instructors and trainers are top notch. You can tell they get excited for the classes they are teaching or workouts theyre leading and their enthusiasm makes it go by quickly. My only recommendation is for more lunchtime fitness classes. I love the classes that are offered, and its always easy to get into the 5 or 6p classes, but I would love to pick up a 30-45 minute spin or yoga class on my lunch break.

Im glad it opened back up. Time to get back into it.

Love this place so far. Clean, friendly staff, and nice selection of workout equipment. I notice a lot of family’s working out together, and a normal selection of people working out like myself which isn’t to intimidating. I would highly recommend this gym to my friends, and family.

This is a clean gym with great employees. I’m always greeted by the front desk people who are friendly and helpful.The epuiptment is good quality and kept in good working order. If you forget your towel, they always have a clean one ready to go for you. I always feel better after my workouts here:)

I was a member there from 2011 - 2020 and they literally have everything you would need to get in shape. They have something for everyone the only gripe I would have is their day care is a germ haven obviously kids.So it would be nice if they did a deep clean once a week.

The Riverlakes staff makes you feel like family! I am greeted by my first name not only at check-in but throughout the entire gym. The staff is always friendly and shows up to work ready to work. The facility is very clean compared to other gyms I have been to, including other In-Shape Clubs. I think this staff should be recognized for their efforts. (And no 😃 I don’t have family members or friends that work at the gym, I knew no one at the club when I joined. )

My kids love the kids zone. Ive been at all times and it never feels busy. Its always clean. I like my personal trainer, he is very helpful for my specific needs. Prices are reasonable.

This location is extremely clean! I love going upstairs and just wish they had a few more treadmills. However, I would reccomend this location to family and friends. The front desk staff are pleasant as well, I am greeted every time I arrive, which is nice!

Great gym, very clean place that isnt crowded compared to other gyms. Even better if you go during their low count hours because then theres hardly anyone there. Free wifi that has a good fast speed is a HUGE plus if you dont like watching any of the TV channels they have up. Staff is also very nice and helpful who do a good job maintaining the cleanliness of the gym.

Great gym with a lot of equipment and classes. The staff is always friendly and the restrooms are always clean. The price is fair for the amenities offered compared to other gyms.

Gym is not crowded. Reasonable prices. Have classes weekly and good service. Also has childcare at reasonable price to drop off your kids while you get a workout.

As a beginner, I don’t feel self conscious at this gym. If I need help I can ask anyone there. It’s clean, and the employees are very helpful.

I personally love this gym. Very helpful staff, very clean, lots of gym equipment. Ive been going to this gym for almost 4 months now and i still feel the same about it as i did the first time i went. 10/10 recommend

Some what decent gym for a quick workout, other than that it’s not great for everyday use. Half the time I go it’s just enough packed to where every machine I want to use is being used. So I end up cutting my workout short half the time.

Love this gym 12 to 3 are the slow times. But even when busy its not over crowded. Clean too. Staff is awesome.

Way too expensive! I go to a different gym down the street for half the money. If you need the absolute best equipment and want to pay for it then knock yourself out. I am good with older equipment and much cheaper membership.

I have been to a few In Shapes and I can honestly say that Riverlakes is one of the cleanest and most friendly staff. Always giving friendly reminders to wipe off the machines when using the and putting the weights back when done. People that know me know Im bout my cleanliness that is why I stay there, eventhough they do not have a pool...😜

I came to take care of some things with my account and thought that they should be open by 6 am so I can get things done, as I sit in my car writing this review its 6:50 am and its STILL not open, I understand its Saturday but nothing irks me more than a business that doesnt open at the times that are posted on their website/online. 👎

Everything is brand new this place is not crowded and very clean.

Its so packed most of the time. You cannot get specific equipment because people are too busy taking pictures of themselves or texting.

This is probably the best gym in Bakersfield! Well equipped, well maintained and very knowledgeable personal trainers!

Hate the horrible screeching noise. Feels like your inside an old factory. Friendly staff, but for a whole year now, 90% of the treadmills make a horrible most annoying screeching, whining noise. Its so unpleasant to have to work out around such noise. Sounds like an old packaging factory. You would think someone has the job to maintain the motors and belts or whatever might be loose. Ive been waiting to see any improvement, but its actually worst everytime I visit. Makes me not want to go. Management really needs to do its job in maintaining & keeping up w the squeeking machines...

Scott Bruni, you are an idiot. I pay 20 dollars a month for my membership, I dont know how much cheaper you can get. Stop being such a cheapskate, pay some money, workout in a clean place with beautiful women. It is a no brainer.

Its a decent gym. Not as well stocked as some of the other guns but, a decent gym.

Precor plate machines are garbage...they squeak so loud theyll make you go deaf. The military press feels like the arms are going to fall apart. And ive only been here 15min. They should call this place junk city. They need to send half their machine to the dump to be recycled....or call precor to come pick up their junk. Lol...make this place your absolute last resort.

It has everything, its very clean, and I like that there are people of all ages and not primarily high school boys like the gym in Shafter. The only thing I dont like is it costs extra to use their towels, but I suppose thats true anywhere.

Awesome place and equipments are very good, ambience is too good.

Would be better if they had what all other gyms had -- swimming pool, spa, sauna and steam room. Childcare is absolutely amazing, but front desk is kind of hit and miss as far as decent quality customer service.
