We found Sun Tint on Yelp, checked out their website, and called to make an appointment. I highly recommend Sun Tint! They’ve been in business since ‘82, the price point is affordable, and the service is exceptional! The tint comes with a lifetime warranty — call and make an appointment — you won’t be disappointed!

They took me in on short notice. I had a few days to spare but they got it done on day one of first call. I went for the best tint option including windshield and sunroof. The car looks great. Ill know later how it compares to my WRX thats Tinted in 2016 and lacking ceramic.

Weve had nothing but positive interactions with Sun Tint. Weve had them tint our home and everyone in the company has been a pleasure to work with. My son was employed at the Austin location of Sun Tint in 2020 when Covid hit. He was a full time reliable employee. When he applied for unemployment because the location shut down temporarily he was denied. When he tried to return to work when they reopened his boss told him he hadn’t shown up when he was called back to work. My son never received a call nor text instructing him to return back to work! Not impressed by this mismanagement.

Saw the high reviews for tint, but seems quality has been sinking. When I was driving after a few days later, I noticed a glare where light was leaking from the rear Truck window. It seems there was a small tear where they trimmed the tint wrong. Instead of putting a new tint they just left the tear there and tried to push the seam together and all the bubbles will come out later. This is not a complex rear car window, but a flat rear truck window. I do have warranty, but now I have to waste time again to get it done. I could have gotten the same tint quality for half the price from several other places.

They set me a walk in appointment and when I was there, they just cancel me just that simple

I was referred to this place by a colleague and generally the quality of work done is OK. I don’t want to be a picky customer, so I will leave pictures for your own judgement. I brought an older (2006) vehicle and opted for the film on all windows. Had to come back because of the dirt bubbles on the back window and quarter windows on back doors. They were able to fix most of the bubbles at the back window, and see the attached pic of the quarter windows.

Heard good things about Sun Tint but my experience was very poor. They scratched up two windows on the inside, one of which they replaced at no cost to me (not factory glass though). Brand new 2020 that now has a window that doesnt match with a crooked stamp. They werent upfront about messing up though, which meant another trip for me to address the damage. They also scratched up four windows on the exterior as well as my roof railings and weather stripping. Had to go back multiple times to have windows redone due to scratches on windows/tint and lots of bubbling. BEWARE: These guys will scratch your windows, tint over it, and pretend like nothing happened (as they did to me TWICE)!!! Spoke to the owner on the phone who was hostile and defensive, and “respectfully” declined to fix my window. There is NOTHING respectful about refusing to fix property you damaged!!!Response to owner: You absolutely refused to fix the damage as that was the only subject of the phone call I had with Russell last week. I will NOT let y’all tint my windows ever again after seeing the poor quality of work and damage you caused to my vehicle! Also there was no tint shop before you. Factory tint on all rear windows and dealership tinted the front windows. I expected y’all to do just as good of a job on my vehicle as you do for dealerships. Any dealership would have brought said vehicle back if it was tinted as mine was. Smudge marks in between windshield film and glass, tint was cut too short one time, scratches on tint/weather stripping, and scratches on exterior of four windows. The window you replaced had a 12” scratch on it from y’all and you tinted over it and gave it back to me like nothing happened! You now refuse to address the other window y’all scratched on the inside because I didn’t immediately call y’all out on it (shouldn’t have been my job in the first place), and because I’m picky about how the tint looks on my brand new car. Be upfront when you make a mistake and do the right thing to take care of your customers!

I’ve used Sun Tint for two vehicles. Both experiences were very positive. After 6 years some bubbles appeared in the rear glass of one car. Sun Tint replaced the film. No hassle. After 13 years the older car developed a few bubbles in a few windows. Took it in. All new film on a 13 year old car. No hassle. Both jobs look great. They were more than fair to me.

I really like these guys and appreciate their honesty. I had my cars rear window done by them several years ago and now needed to have the tint replaced. They were able to find my receipt from several years ago and covered it under warranty at no cost to me. Thats good business. Nice lobby to wait in and they practice social distance which I appreciated.

Made an appointment to get tint and was promptly greeted with a friendly attitude. They finished up just a little bit faster than expected but I was waiting there so that was fine. Had my windows tinted here couple months ago and accidentally scraped the tint off one of the windows. I easily got an appointment for a repair was in/out of the shop in less than 30 min. Ive been doing business with Sun Tint since the 1980s and would never even consider going somewhere else. Any time I get a new car, first thing I do is make an appointment at Sun Tint. Ive had them do over 10 cars. They are professional and do excellent work. And the one time I had to have warranty work done due to some bubbling of the tint (after 10 years!!!) they took care of it with no hassle whatsoever. They even had stored stock of the old tint that wasnt made anymore for a perfect match! Dont even bother looking around anymore, just go to Sun Tint!

This was absolutely one of the best window tint experiences I’ve had!! I accidentally missed my appointment so I called and rescheduled for the same day. Once I arrived, they knew immediately who I was and were able to get me in and out. They even provided me with a Lyft ride to and from their office!This staff is extremely knowledgeable and to the point with information. They definitely know time is money but they are willing to take the time to answer all of your questions. I recommend this business to everyone!

I chose Sun Tint after googling numerous places in Austin. I needed a good heat rejection product with a reputable, quality installer for my wifes car that she drives almost 30,000 miles a year (in the central Texas sun). Ian was super friendly and helpful while I waited during the install. Knowledgeable staff, good product selection. If you want a quality product and quality service, this is the place.

Great service and fast. They have done both of my cars. Everyone I spoke with was knowledgeable and friendly. Seems like a good local family business. Also, if you choose to wait there while they install your tint, the lounge area is super nice. Nice couches, current magazines for reading, cable, and cold beverages.

I am in Austin for vacation and decided it was time to get my truck windows tinted. They not only had the best prices, they were very knowledgeable about the laws so you knew what you could legally have your window tint at. I would recommend them if anyone ever asked me. If you ever need window tint this is the place to come to. Just had the wife’s truck and my new truck windows tinted. Took all of 1.5 hrs. Life time warranty and the best staff. Plus a open inside area to relax and wait in. (large wait area helps with the 2 ur old too). Have brought 5 vehicles here and will continues. Keep up the great work!

These guys have done my cars for years. And I was thrilled to see that Subaru Austin uses them too, as we got a car from them, and the tinting came from Sun Tint! We had to get our windshield replaced, which meant I had the clear heat shield replaced too, and Marcus on the phone was super great with me in scheduling. And when I came in, Brenda was very helpful and friendly and my car was done lickety-split — 45 minutes! Theyve been great for years and Im so glad we used them again!

Took my car there a couple of weeks ago to get the windows tinted. They did a great job. Met with Ian and he did everything as promised. Had the car ready when he said it would be and went over everything in detail before I left. Great guy!!! Ask for him when you go there.

Added a subtle tint, but the difference in heat was remarkable. This is the 2nd car Ive Sun Tinted, and every time it looks just as good as if it came off the factory floor that way. Kudos.

Ive taken every car Ive owned to be tinted here and had good results. This changed when I took my truck in for a clear bra.To start, the estimates were all over the place. From $500 to $1500. Even the morning I brought it in I couldnt get a straight answer after going panel by panel.Then, despite being told over the phone they would give me a ride to work the son of the owner reneged and said they only give rides within a mile or two. I just wanted to go downtown, which is 15m away. Fortunately I brought my laptop and could work there.The work itself for the clear bra was pretty good, though I have some small bubbles in a few places. It ended up being $560ish for the full hood, front, wheel well fenders, and door edges, which I thought was pretty fair.

Weve used this company since 1994 and they are consistently good. We plan to continue to work with them.

Ive had 3 vehicles tinted by these guys. I went with the lowest price of the three tint options each time. It takes about 2 hours to do a car. Since I work close they even shuttled me back and forth. Great place! The tint came out great and now my car isnt hot.

Time and cost estimates were spot on. Very friendly and professional. Job done in an hour and a half. Lifetime warranty is nice piece of mind. And theres a nice Thai place down Lamar while you wait.Update: Went back to get my next vehicle done and the service was even better. I wish I could add more stars. They were very friendly over the phone and in-person when I showed up for my appointment. I only needed my drivers side window tinted because it had recently been repaired after a break-in. They finished the work within 30 minutes. I was advised about there tinting methods, and they told me about how the adhesive curing process takes 3-days.Great service by great people!

They gave me an excellent window tint installation, even straightened out my crooked windshield stickers. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I went in on a rainy afternoon and they were able to work on my car almost right away. But I would definitely call first to see how busy they are.

My car is so much cooler now after sitting in the hot Texas heat and the tinting also provides me with extra security since its harder to see inside my car windows from the outside looking in. Those silly stick-on window shades for our kids in the back of the car were driving us crazy! We had heard bad things about after-market window tint, but after talking to the folks at Sun Tint, we decided to give it a shot. Got Lifetime tint 6ish years ago. Within 2 years bubbles formed on 1 window. They replaced it with no problem, but seemed surprised by me telling them about it, which was off-putting. Now 4 years later and most of my windows have bubbles forming-not too noticable yet except for 1 window that has a large bubble. I will be bringing it back (again) to have the it replaced, but this time nearly all windows need it.

The people art Sun Auto Tint eye fantastic! They meet my needs completely, and eye so friendly about it. I felt right at home. The wasting are its superb, with excellent refreshments and primo comfortable seating.

Went to install tint on my rear wind-shield because the one that came with the car was bubbled-up to the point I could barely see through the rear-view mirror. The removal fee was waived (which I thought was awesome) because the tint came off in one piece, rather than 100 little pieces which would of taken a lot longer. After that It only took about 30 more minutes to install the new one. All in all I was there for about an hour tops enjoying a nice football game, connected to WiFi, and relaxing in their nice waiting area. Add to that a life-time warranty, what else can you ask for?I would recommend it to anyone!

Quality work - no surprises

In the past, I havent had great luck with tint shops. The tint is usually fine, but as someone who is very particular about their car (read: I blow dry it to avoid the potential for scratches with even a microfiber towel), I cringe when these other shops leave their sweat marks and water marks all over my leather.Sun Tint was recommended to me as somewhere that can take care of higher end cars, so I decided to give them a shot. I was not disappointed. They were super friendly on the phone while making my appointment, answering my 2938723 questions. I had the same friendly experience in person as well. They did a pre-inspection of the car to point out any blemishes or scratches before they started (which I appreciate).After the tint was done, they brought it around and to my surprise, no water marks on the interior trim and the seats were like they never crawled all over them! The window tint looked great of course, but its the extra attention to detail that will make me want to go back for my paint protection and recommend them to my co-workers and friends (who are all car guys as well).Sun Tint - job well done, from someone very hard to please.

Its a small shop with focus on customer happiness. I got two cars tinted and have been happy every time. I would go here again without much thought. They offer lifetime warranty, and have a decent waiting area with TV, wifi, coffee, soft drinks, etc. I feel like they will prioritize working on your car if you get an appointment rather than walk in.

Ive come to Sun Tint for window tinting on two of my vehicles. The work was done on my 05 Dodge Neon back in 2010 and looked flawless until the car died on me in late 2013. When it came time to purchase a new (to me) car that didnt have window tint, I immediately made an appointment at Sun Tint.Both times, the work was done quickly and everyone was very professional. I hope I dont have to purchase another car in the near future, but if I do, Sun Tint will be my shop of choice for the work.

I got my tint here years ago. When it started bubbling I brought my warranty back and they fixed it right up in the shortest amount of time I could imagine. The staff was incredibly friendly they have Wi-Fi while you wait and drinks. I was surprised by how amazing this place was.

Quoted me 1.5 hours on the phone, said 1.5-2 hours when I arrived. Still waiting and it’s now 2.5 hours. I hope it’s worth it!

Had all 4 side windows and the back window on my Mazda performed and I am very impressed. It looks like a professional job because they are professionals. Comfortable waiting area, free coffee and wifi and the temperature difference in the car is quite dramatic. Tinting should be standard on all cars in Texas.+1 to not using loud annoying ads like certain *other* (looking at you Mothers) tint shops. This is low pressure no nonsense, here are the products we have, you decide what you want, type of sales. Will definitely bring other cars here.Note: They are also local which doesnt necessarily matter to me since chains like Discount Tire are great, but its worth mentioning.

Sun Tint did the warranty work on my car tint that was installed 10 years ago.My Solar Guard film was peeling and both side windows were replaced. Sun Tint did not have the color tint I had orignally installed, but Solar Guard shipped them a role just for my car.Sun Tint was the pinnacle of service for me. They were friendly, informative, and when I came in for my tint work they remembered me. The work was performed in under the time stated.I cant imagine that my Miata was the biggest job they had that day, but they treated me that way.Their service was so exemplary that I am publishing a review. This after the work was done three weeks prior. That is how pleased I am with their service. Oh, and my tint is perfect as well!

Good customer service, very friendly. This is the second car Ive had the windows done on in less than a year. The first was great, the second, looks like they rushed the job a little bit. I can see some small bubbles and some areas where you can see the film was cut. I opted for their most expensive tint both times and so far it seems like it will hold up well. Tried to take it in to get the bubbles fixes and see about having the window where the cuts are obvious and they were booked. Im sure theyll fix it, just need time to get it back in.

I had a wonderful time getting my car tinted here! They fitted me in on a Saturday and I got the most expensive ceramic tint on my Honda Civic. They finished it in about 1-2 hours as expected, were very friendly and informed, and even had the owners dog there (very friendly btw). They provided free soft drinks and water to customers waiting and made sure people were comfortable (free wifi too). Once the car was done, it looked amazing and had very fair pricing. Its been on there a few weeks now and I feel zero regrets about buying it. My car is much cooler (temperature) with this tint than before. Fully recommend to anyone needing a professional tint!
