I cant speak to others experiences, but in my case, I called them earlier this morning from the County Courthouse (after completing Jury Duty). The driver arrived in 10 minutes and had me home in So. Austin 20 minutes later. Driver was polite & professional. I cant ask for more than that. Five Stars in my book!

Robbers...plain and simple. Getting out of the cab the driver told me I owed 18.26. He asked me how much he could charge me (to include tip) and I said add 5 dollars. After that I gave him another $5 cash. The pending charge on my card was $38.26. I was thinking, okay, they must hold an additional $20 just in case. Nope! Once the charge went through, it was $48.26! Unbelievable. Looking at the other reviews this seems to happen to all customers. This company should not be in business.

I just wanted to show my appreciation for cab #100 (the night driver). After being stuck downtown on a Friday night with no car and no phone I quickly jumped into cab 100 where he generously took me all the way to round rock. He is a very kind and friendly man, what he did for me was very selfless. I would recommend this cab driver, he is nice, neat, and reliable.

Worst cab experience ever. I called hours ahead of time and the woman who answered was very short toned and clearly hated her life, they had the cheapest rates and being on a budget i went with them anyway. I called about 5 hours in advance and set my pick up time for 5pm. i was ready early and called them at 430 seeing if they could get someone out a little earlier, that same woman said we will send someone right away. 5pm came and no one had showed up, i waited figuring traffic might have delayed the driver. at 515 i get a call from the driver saying it will be at least 45 minutes. no apology, no reason just ill be late. so i called the cab company directly and granted i was pretty upset but the woman was again very rude and short with me and kept cutting my off when i tried to explain my situation, i was on a time deadline and i needed cab here AT 5 LIKE I REQUESTED. She kept saying sir you are getting mad at the wrong person WHO ELSE AM I SUPPOSE TO GET MAD AT?!?! She was the one i had been talking to all day and who was responsible for getting the cab there on time. Once i finally got it through to her that i needed them there NOW all she kept asking was well do you still want the cab or not? OF COURSE I WANT THE CAB!!! WHY ELSE WOULD I STILL BE TALKING TO YOU?!?! at this point i was put on hold with out any warning and it sounded as if she had hung up on me. I hung up and called right back and asked for a manager and she told me she was the only one there and was very rude telling me that all she did was put me on hold. She even kept calling me by the wrong name, its Josh, pretty simple, how dumb do you have to be to screw that one up? Once i finally got the cab out at 530 the driver was just as rude and dumb. i told him exactly where i needed to go and he could not find it. passed the place twice and thus i was charged extra for his incompetence. word of advise, pay the few extra dollar and go with a reputable company like yellow cab and avoid the frustration that i experienced.

I have never had a cab show up this fast. I had barely gotten dressed. My driver was extremely kind, and his taxi was spotless. The gentleman knew that I was very upset because I explained to him what happened, but that we would be looking for a Police car on the scene. I was on the verge of tears, but he kept up a very light conversation with me and it helped immensely. I managed to maintain control, and deal with the situation calmly with the Police. I have been in many taxis because I rarely drive in most cities I visit. I dont always get a wonderful experience with cab drivers. Many are not concerned about the passenger. I can understand their attitude, however, it is very refreshing to find someone who is above that state of mind.

Waited for a taxi for a full hour and still never came, called to see if they could at least get a comp of the price for when it really did show up, the girl on the phone said no and said she was cancelling the taxi and hung up. We ended up getting an Uber that arrived in 1 min.

Lonestar Cab is a great cab company. To people who experienced such a horrible experience, I feel sorry for all of you guys. Want to give an advice on you guys: If you feel to use the cab then call the cab company a day before, or 5 hours before or 3 hours before you love to use the cab. Then if you do that, that cab company can guarantee to send you a cab on the time that you love to use it. Reasons why they cant send you a cab: Cab drivers are far from your pick up address, drivers are at the airport, drivers are busy entertaining their current passenger. So the best strategy is to use my advice. The dispatchers of this company are good and they are calling a cab driver for each of the passenegr who called. In fact, they always assigned a driver for the passenger who called a day before they needed the cab. Lets all give respect and patience and lets all be responsible to have a great day everyday! Terrible experience. I was at Barton springs pool and I needed a ride to huts hamburgers. Im from out of town, so the walk to Barton springs was cool; long, but interesting nevertheless. Problem was, the water was way to cold, and it made my legs feel numb, and I figured, why not just call a tax back? And I taxi I called, expecting at the most a 15-20 minute wait. Check this out: So I needed to get back to huts hamburgers because I was at a pay to park nearby that area, and it ended at 5. It was 4:25 when I called them. They didnt show up after 30 minutes of waiting. So my girlfriend and I walked all the way back. They didnt even call back. Next time Im here, Im sticking with UBER.

Horrible driver. Landed at the airport at midnight. I asked him to take 183 S several times. He purposefully sped up past the exit and took the riverside exit and went to a deserted road where he stopped and stared at me. It was terrifying. Finally got him to take me back to 183. He never bothered to turn off the meter and grossly overcharged me for his mistake. Not only a horrifying experience, but was screwed over with the bogus charges from when he didn’t turn off his meter. Word to the wise, take Uber when coming back from the airport. At least there is tracking and a trail on where you are at.

1 star is toooo generous. No Working AC!!! Really??? In Austin TX?!?!?! Cab is OLD, shocks are shot and worst of all it is a SMOKING cab. Called and hired a cab that they said would arrive in twenty minutes. Ive been waiting an hour. Ive just assumed they arent coming and made other arrangements. Either being on time or advising passengers if theyll be late is the *bare minimum standard* and apparently Austin Cab cant even do that.

I had taken a friend from Seguin to the Austin airport. While driving onto airport property and into the terminal lane, I had a flat tire. I continued to drive on it until I reach the American Airlines departure area. While my friend was checking in, I began to change the tire. I had the jack out and was slowly jacking up the car when one of their drivers, Charles, CAB #102, stepped in to help me. He proceeded to finish jacking up the car and remove the tire (with his own tools) and then put the donut tire on my vehicle. He was so very nice and polite and most definitely helpful. He refused a tip for his services and we all hugged him and continued to thank him. He was our lifesaver.

Austin Cab companys drivers are ridiculous. The driver went to the wrong address, called me and stated that he was outside, and wasnt. Once he finally arrived to my address the driver had the meter going before I even got in the cab. I gave the guy directions and he decided to take his own path which resulted in an addition 10 minutes in drive time. I was on the phone with dispatch informing her that I clearly gave the guy directions and he didnt follow them.She was on the radio with him instructing him to take the direction I requested and he responded that he was using his GPS.I called her back to let her know that I wanted to be transferred to the manager, which I left a message expressing my dismay and disgust with the service I was provided.

Cab took 30min to arrive with no estimated time arrival stated. No meter and was charged over 20 dollars for maybe a 6 mile drive. Can driver was on his phone the majority of the time which is illegal here in austin. Putting my life and my fiances life in danger. Never use this cab service again. I advise the same for everyone else.

I was downtown and needed a ride to the south side and decided to jump in a cab instead of waiting on an uber.I use to take cabs all the time and it wasnt so bad.Times have changed i guess because the cab smelled like my locker room in high school after the big game.The ride wasnt so bad after I got over the smell.I just hope the smell didnt get all over me.

Took taxi from J W Marriott to airport in Austin. Cab no 101 picked me up. When arrived at airport, female driver said her credit card machine wasnt working and asked me for cash for a $28 fare. I gave her $40 and asked for $8 back. She claimed she had no change. She totally scammed me!!

Abandon all hope. called for a cab, was told the pick up would be in 20 min. was waiting outside. after 30 min called for an update. was told to wait another 10 to 15 min. 15 min later was told that a cab still could not be found. in other words, after 45 min we were still at square one. were not from austin. this is crazy. why is getting a cab here like landing a man on the moon?

Had one good experience with them for a ride to the ATX airport. The driver was 5 minutes early. Awesome, right? Decided to try them again for my next airport trip, and arranged for a cab over 30 hours in advance. Started calling when they hadnt shown up after the 15 minute mark. Stayed on hold for 30 minutes, hung up and got a friend to take me to the airport. I received a voicemail that he was at my home but I wasnt there. Mind you, this was 1.5 hours AFTER my scheduled pickup and I was waiting to board my flight. Use them at your own peril and if youre not on a deadline.

Im sure the cab drivers are good, but somethings wrong with dispatch. Ive never had such poor customer service with any cab company. Sounds like its ran out of a house....I had to reschedule a pick up last minute along with the time and address (sorry thats how buisness people work) and before the girl could confirm the change she hangs up on me and doesnt say a word. I thought the line just got disconnected so I called a few times and no pick up. NOT OK, seeing that people can miss flights back home.

This cab driver who was non American took the long way after I try giving him the direction calling us Non American people I had to remind him hes a non American We are True American.... I normal use 10/10 taxi decide to jump in this cab from the airports a $25 dollars ride from the airport to my sister house this cab driver try charging me $50.00 bucks I have caught the yellow cab & only paid $23.00 buck NEVER!!! $50 bucks for a 13 minute ride I call his manger & the manger was on speaker & told the driver you went all out the way her fare should be $27.00 dollars the driver said hes not taking that $27 dollars & they not getting their suitcase I call the Police once the police pull up he pop the trunk & We got our suitcases I will NEVER EVER!! I called them and said Im selling my car and need a cab to take me home. They said, Ok, no problem we will be there in 25 minutes. 1 hour later I called them back, Just another 15 minutes, they said. 2 hours later my sister got off work and was able to give me a ride. DO NOT GET A TAXI FROM HERE THEY ARE CRIMINALS (ACTUALLY). I took a taxi home last night and he told me my total was 8 dollars and I told him to add a 2 dollar trip (he swiped my card not me). This morning I got a receipt for a 14.50 charge plus 4 dollar tip. WORSE my friends credit card unknowingly fell out of her phone (most likely when we flew forward in the cab after he slammed on the breaks and almost hit the car in front of him). At 3am (an hour after we got home) she got a text saying there was a taxi charge for 45 dollars. HE DROVE AROUND AND CHARGED HER CARD. I called the company today and they did NOTHING. Currently taking it up with square (the company they use to charge credit cards). Last time I take a taxi in Austin to avoid the uber surcharge.

Last Monday I called and scheduled a cab for transport to the airport Tuesday. My father-in-law had just died and I needed to get to Georgia for his funeral.Having used them the prior month for the first time, I was fairly confident they would show up as scheduled. I was wrong. 5 minutes after the failed arrival time, I was on the phone...on hold for over 10 minutes...while throwing my luggage into my car.My call was never answered, and by the grace of God I was able to drive myself to ABI- making my flight with just moments to spare.Wednesday I called to file a complaint-on voicemail. A manager returned my call more than 24 hours later. He offered no explanation or apology. I promised a bad review, and unlucky this company, I keep my promises!Dont ever use this company if you seriously need to be somewhere.Additionally, my first experience with this company involved a cab that wreaked of sandalwood, permeating my clothing for the remainder of the day. I couldnt stand the smell of myself.SO UNPROFESSIONAL.

TERRIBLE experience. I called for a cab to get to a dentist appointment I scheduled months ago (I am from out of state). Austin Cab Company is the only company I called. I called with ample notice in time get to my appointment. They said a cab would be there in 45 minutes. I called after one hour and they told me they never put the order for my cab in. Then I was told that no one talked to me that morning and that I never called in. They said I must be mistaken must have called another cab company like Yellow Cab. Interesting since I only called one company from my cell and just hit redial to call the same company to follow up on the late arrival (non-arrival, that is). I wish I wouldve called Yellow Cab because they are probably a much more competent agency. I missed my appointment and then was called a liar. I would never support this company or any business that screws people over and then insults them.

Called and the dispatcher put me on hold for several minutes then came back and said they could get me a driver-- SURE, 15 or 20 minutes after I needed to leave the house!! No thanks!! It was an awful experience..They deserve a single star for answering the phone.Otherwise they wasted 45 minutes of my time.. They told me they will send me a cab within 20 min and asked me to stay put and wait for the drivers call... after 30 min from me waiting outside in 7 degrees I called them asking where is our ride she told me she couldnt find someone to come to us!!!! I asked her to send someone and in the meanwhile I will call another company just in case,,she asks me to call her back if I found someone else and update her if I will still need their lame services :s (considering I am using an international cell phone number and she didnt care...

I do not recommend this cab company, unless maybe you are flagging them down on the spot to go somewhere. I called the night before to make a reservation for the following morning at 7:00am. No problem. The next day no cab. I called at 7:05am to find out if the cab was lost or ...? The lady told me they dont operate taxis on weekend mornings so no, no cab was coming at all. What cab company doesnt operate 24/7 ?!? I said to her, This doesnt sound right, and also this was not mentioned to me when I made the reservation less than 24 hours ago. Her response was a simple, Well, I wasnt the one that made the reservation. No apologies, no nothing. She then offered to send a cab out to get me. Um, doesnt that imply that they DO in fact have cabs running on weekend mornings? Since I was on my way to the airport it was too late which I told her so. Again, no apologies at all or offerings to right this wrong somehow. I do not trust this cab company at all and the people who work there were uncaring and incompetent. No way to run a business.

I would never use this company again. Waited an HOUR for a cab to show up-- called-- explained they werent here and asked when they were going to show up. She insisted that the cab tired to call me and waited outside my house. I never got a call and I had been looking outside my window for an hour at this point, so she lied. At that point I was told that I needed to answer my phone if I wanted a ride. There were exactly zero missed calls or messages on my phone & I had been sitting outside for over half an hour. Please advise your drivers that talking on the phone while driving is against the law in Austin. Totally unprofessional to be gabbing to friends while driving 20 under the speed limit, then acting offended when told to stop talking on the phone. That is a safety issue and lawsuit waiting to happen. Not impressed at all by this service.This is the reason Uber and Lyft need to be back in Austin. Ridiculous and unsafe drivers run rampant in this company. They must have good lawyers at least.

Terrible. I called at 5:30 am to request a cab between 11:30 am and 12 pm. They said they could get me a cab by 11:30 and the driver would call. Well, 11:30 and 12 came and went, still no cab. I tried calling but was on hold for almost 30 minutes, despite being first in line. The cab never showed, so I called Pronto and got a Lone Star cab in less than 10 minutes. Never again.

I am sitting at my house luggage in hand waiting for Austin cab - missing my flight. Called 30 min in advance to schedule for 6:15p at 6:25p I decided to call. The operator told me no one had accepted the call. No call back to inform me they after 40 min they hadnt found a driver. I could have booked with another company.This is the 3rd time they have totally dropped the ball. The other two I set up up everything online 12hrs in advance as well as called to confirm and both times no one showed up.This company is so unorganized and unprofessional I cannot express with out cussing and swearing.Do not trust - do not use.

A large tip was deducted from my debit card without my consent. I only found this out when I received the email receipt in my inbox. I had agreed to tip the driver, and an EXTRA 8 dollars was deducted from my account. This extra charge did not appear on the signed paper receipt that the driver gave me after the ride.Since Uber and Lyft left Austin I have used more and more taxis like this and am becoming increasingly disappointed with this kind of thing. Taking money from people without their consent is never a good thing. There is a new app for Austin called Fasten which works much better, is more competitively priced and does not take large tips from your debit card without permission.I will never use Austin Cab Company again. Ever.

Booked a cab from my place of work to downtown Austin. Cab never showed despite repeated calls. Suspect my UK accent and lack of US cell phone number meant that a cab was never actually booked / allocated. Was left high and dry for 2h despite frantic phoning (again from UK cell - ouch) and eventually got to downtown courtesy of yellow cab. NOTE they ask if you are going to the airport or not, with hindsight the answer should always be YES as they will actually then schedule and despatch a cab reasonably promptly. Avoid if possible.

If I could Do a negative comment I would. We waited an hour for our cab if not longer. Had to walk to the place down the road, then he charged us 22$ for a 6 min drive to downtown. It was ridiculous not to mention he was trying to call someone the whole drive. NEVER again will use you & will reccomend to use someone else.

Had an early morning pick up which i reserved the night before to go to the airport. Didnt receive a confirmation call in the morning so I had to call the main line again. Then AT my pickup time I received a call that my driver was having mechanical problems and a new driver was going to have to be dispatched.LATE. The one thing a taxi should not do is be late

BEWARE! Recently I had a very early flight and needed to get to the Austin airport by 4:00 a.m. I called the day before the flight and made a reservation for 3:30 a.m. When the cab did not arrive as promised, I attempted to call the company (more than once) only to get a recording. Under the circumstances, I had no choice but to leave my car at the airport during my trip at a cost of almost $100. I wish I had read the reviews before choosing this very undependable company, but you can learn from my experience.

The cabbie stoled my credit card. Went from the hotel to the airport. Handed my card to the driver, he tried to run the card and it didnt work. I handed him cash to pay for the ride. I asked from my card back he insisted he had handed it back to me. We looked through the cab and through my pockets/wallet. The only place we didnt look was HIS POCKETS! I had to cancel my card while in waiting to be frisked by TSA at the airport. The receipt he handed me wasnt filled out and when I tried calling the number on the receipt to get in touch with a manager no one would answer the call. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

Arguably the worst cab ride I have ever had. Driver did not know how to operate defogger and had to pull over on highway for me to show him how to use it. Almost got hit getting back onto highway. Cab in poor condition and did not do well in the rain. Driver was clueless and really, really questioned whether we were going to get to airport in one piece. Tried calling company to complain but no one called me back. Avoid if you can.

Worst cab company in town. Told 25 minutes or less on the phone. Called 40 minutes later to check on status and told to wait the car was on its way. Called after another 20 minutes and told they had no idea how long it would be and the only option was to wait indefinitely or cancel the cab and try somewhere else. Thank God we werent trying to go to the airport. This is the second bad experience Ive had with them and the last. Fool me twice...

I was in a lane that enters into IH 35. Cab driver #22 proceeded to recklessly cut me off as he gets into my lane from the right AND THEN decides to SLAM on his brakes causing him to go from about 30 mph to a standstill in a matter of seconds. I had to slam my foot down on my brakes to avoid hitting him, causing my wheels to screech followed by the smell of burning rubber. Horrible driver and horrible company.

Very slow and bad service. Had to call back twice but no wait estimate was ever given and no car showed up. Driver called after about an hour, but we had found alternative transport by then. Missed our restaurant reservation time. Companies like this is why Uber is a success..

Why cant we give zero stars? Or negative? This POS company has an unbelievably long wait on the phone to make a reservation. Then when we decided not to take the cab, we tried to call to cancel. We have been on hold for 30 minutes. Someone just picked up the phone, and said hello, we said we need to cancel the cab, and he put us back on hold-without even saying anything like can I put you back on hold. We will never use this place again and the cab driver is going to waste his time coming to our place in the morning only to be turned away. This is the most incompetent company ever. DO NOT USE.

These morons cost me a first class non-refundable airline ticket to washington. I called at 4pm to get a cab to the airport for my 6:35 flight. They told me theyd be here in 25 minutes or less. 45 minutes later I call to ask where the cab is, so they tell me he is just a couple minutes away. Call again 15 minutes later and say I need to know if this guy is going to be here in the next five minutes or Im going to miss my flight they tell me Sorry sir he is still 20 minutes out. I tell them to cancel the cab, run to my car figure screw it Ill pay for the long term parking but by this time its now rush hour and there is no way I can get to the airport and through security in time. I try anyway and get about half way to the airport before I finally admit to myself I just lost an asston of money on a flight I wont be able to make. On my way home at 5:40pm the cab company calls and says Sir the cab is at your apartment. Yeah basically they have mentally handicapped people working there. Hour and 40 minutes to get a cab in 25 minutes or less. If it were possible for me to sue them for the cost of my flight I would.

I waited 40 minutes for a representative to even answer the phone, followed by a rude exchange between myself and that representative. Taxis have failed to modernize alongside the rest of the world and provide the customer service needed in order to survive in the modern market; which has led them to get outcompeted by other ride sharing services such as Lyft and Uber. Not only has their effort to get rid of competing ride sharinig apps created an inconvenience for the general public, but has also made the issue of drunk driving again much more relevant here in Austin. Whether it be a Lyft, Uber, or a taxi driving me downtown, I please just ask that they learn to adapt and create an affordable, easy, and safe way for their customers to get to their destination (as Lyft and Uber, not taxis, have already done).

Cab driver tried scamming me. I called a cab and ride was 2 blocks for $4. I hand him a $20, no change, no English. I demand my change back and he gives me a $1. I keep demanding my change and now another $12. Now $4 ride is base plus additional fare next to it for another $3. Me, my wife and her friend got tired of arguing and left the cab, no longer wishing to argue with the guy driving a cab that couldnt speak English yet all of a sudden he can tell me about the additional fare surcharge. Last time I used a cab, i switched over to Uber.

I arrived at the airport at 10:30 p.m. on 9th September and took a taxi. The african-american taxi driver took a roundabout way so that I had to pay much more taxi fare than usual. I think that taxi drivers themselves are very pathetic because they live on this ripped-off money.

Tried to order a cab. Automated machine informed me I was 1st in the queue. Waited 11 minutes and the call still wasnt answered so I hung up. Visiting from Ireland so the call cost over $20. Terrible customer service.

Horrible service. I set an appointment for cab pick up at 4:30 about 5 hours in advance.. No call no show. Thing is i was on my way to the airport they literally never showed called or anything. Luckily i called yellow cab and they came within 5 mins NO JOKE.

If there was a Horrendous category, I would choose it. The cab driver was driving my visiting 66 yr old mother to my house and had to call me because he didnt know where I lived and told my mother the address didnt exist. The cab driver knew my moms cell phone was dead as she called me from his phone trying to get directions. 15 mins after the first call I get a call from the cab driver saying he left my mother in the middle of the road because he had to go.. I called him twice to get his name and he hung up on me and refused to give his name. I then called the Operations Manager 3 times in the last month with no response. Who leaves a 66 yr old woman in the middle of a foreign city in the middle of a suburbian street with no cell phone and no idea where she was walking to!? I am completely disgusted with Austin Cab and thinks it brings shame to such a great city.

This dumb woman told me I cant order a cab at 5th and Red River. I called a cab company so I could get a ride home and she said to flag one down. Which is the purpose of a cab, so I can go home. This company sucks, never use them - this is the first time Ive ever commented on a company. Its that bad.
