Very premature business model. Try to swindle both sides renters and owners, while claiming to act as independent mediator when disputes arise. In our case the owner switched the RV on us from the day we booked to the day we picked up. He had installed an external generator on a cargo carrier two days prior to the pickup date. He claimed that we had damaged this rack and RVShare too held us fully responsible for the damage. In spite of repeated requests for a fair repair they tried to swindle us for full replacement. Their only evidence was the photo taken by the owner a several minutes prior and in a complete different geographic location than where the pickup point was.We let them know that it is a breach of original contract to switch the RV or its features than what was advertised; willful withholding of critical information that made the features on the RV different than the original listing; bait-and-switching of an RV with an advertised feature that was extremely different than the one we were delivered; unfair retribution - all of these were in violation of the consumer rights. We also questioned their authority and training in fair mediation or arbitration practices, as well as as expertise in digital/ cyber fraud by either parties.I have now come to see that RVShare sides the owners in all such disputes since the the owners will switch platforms. There is clear incentives given to owners for making an RV available on their platform, and no such offers to renters.Renters usually sign up for Terms and Conditions and usually do not go to the extent of disputing it any further and accept the penalty out of distraught and inability to deal with it legally, since RVshare is incorporated in Delaware; has offices in Ohio; legally registered in Texas and has no information on their website pertaining to any dispute that arises with their services. The Terms and Conditions are also in fully in favor of the owner, since it says the rental begins from the start of the day of rental rather than the time of pickup, so all insurance claims start just after midnight and end one day prior to the end of the rental agreement. The terms and conditions are also vague in saying that any modifications to the RV by the owner is full responsibility of the renter. The renter only has a chance to reject and ask for replacement RV at the time of pickup only and that RVShare will do their best to find an alternate, with the catch that they will offer full refund and cancel the trip without prejudice.
I would rent elsewhere. The first RV we tried to rent the owner had to cancel due to damage caused by previous renter - fully understandable. The second RV (a 2018 Thor in Kent WA) we tried the owner did not respond at all till after we contacted RVshare to check it was properly booked. He did not answer the question we had sent via the message system at all. But ok RVshare said it was ok so we went along with it.Then less than 2 weeks before departure we get a 22pm phone call from the owner changing our pickup time - this does not work for us.He keeps changing his story - continues to be spottily responsive call you tomorrow becomes call you after you contact RVshare 2 days later. So now we do not trust him nor his equipment and ask politely that he refund us our money which he is refusing.I am hoping RVshare will work with us so we can change this review but as its looking right now our choices are renting from this untrustworthy individual or being out a lot of money. Now we have a young child so being out a lot of money would be the only choice there (not risking my childs life in a vehicle maintained by a questionable personEdit to add - it seems RvShare did intervene and we will be getting our money back.So while complicated RVshare itsself is ok but be careful of some of the owners. In hindsight I wonder if it was intended as a scheme - get us to cancel pocket half the payment and then rent to someone else.
Do not rent from RV Share!!! If you rent an RV that is broken, RV Share doesn’t care and doesn’t protect you!!
Most of the RVs listed on the site say “available” during your selected trip dates, however, when you try to reserve, the owners usually send you a note saying your dates are not available and the RV is “already rented on another platform”. You will have a really difficult time finding an RV to rent. Good luck.
I repeatedly ask to be unsubscribed and yet I keep getting emails.
DO NOT USE!!!!! Really, really bad service!!! I wish I had looked up these reviews before using them. Be aware, they take your money then the nightmare begins. First they will send you an email with a link and steps you need to follow to supposedly verify your identity, but the link DOES NOT WORK!!! So I had to download a QR code scanner app in order to do the verification. It then took me to a link where they ask to upload a picture of my ID (front and back) and a SELFIE!!!!!! Yes, they demand your selfie after they already took your money. Once I sent those in, I got an email back that they couldnt confirm due to the quality of the picture. I own the latest gen phone and chose the best spot in the house just so I would be done with it, and yet wasnt good enough. I then called them and, after tired of waiting, finally spoke to a representative. As I explained what I was going through, he told me they have thousands of customers that easily follow this process without complains. Good luck keeping their thousands of customers, Im never using this service again!!!
Horrendous customer service. We rented from a terrible owner who was negligent and guided us to just call customer service when we had a propane leak that caused us to pull over on a dangerous high speed road. Customer service for this company is nothing but a farce. They told us that they cant do anything if we are parked on side of road and to call local authorities. This is the last time we are using RVshare. They are horrendous.
I am an RV owner renting out on RV share. The renter purchased the insurance through RV share. The renter was involved in an accident. The insurance will pay to repair the damage, but is substandard coverage as it will not pay for the loss of use that I will suffer while the coach is being repair for 4+ weeks. Not only do I lose income for this incident but the renters that I have to cancel on will give me a bad review. The insurance should most definitely pay for loss of use for booked reservations, and should reimburse the cancelled renter for fees they have paid on parks that they cannot get to because of the cancellation.
ZERO STARS --My trailer was damaged by a renter, I did everything I was supposed as an owner- The insurance company and the dealer came to an agreement on the cost to repair. GREAT! - BUT hold on because this is where RVShare has left me HIGH and DRY!!! The renter selected his insurance, but the deductible is 1500.00 per each occurrence, not by the accident itself. Even though it happened at the same time, per each occurrence (Roof, Panels, Decals) this is considered each. RVShare insurance contact or the insurance companies’ contract with RVShare. So, instead of paying a 1500.00, my renter needs to pay 4500.00. HEREs my absolute frustration with this company at the moment. They cant get the renter to pay- I received insurance checks minus the 1500.00 each. My trailer sets at the dealer waiting on repairs, RVShare only paid me 1500.00, because thats all their obligated to pay, and have you tried to contact the renter? (Their Words !!). Why would this be my responsibility?!?!?!? - The contract is between the renter and RVShare! This guy dropped off my trailer and didn’t even tell me it was damaged. Ive called, emailed, emailed, and called RVShare doesn’t seem to care about their company structure. If you have no owners you have no renters - meaning no business. OWNERS let it be known that RVShare will not have your back when it comes to renter’s. RENTERS be aware of what your signing, understand the language written with the contract and the insurance. AND don’t be like Richard, my renter whose credit card keeps declining! RVSHARE -I will not go away! Ive given you months -the balls in your court, be professional and make this right!
We planned weeks in advance, the owner and RV Share didn’t not plan at all. We scheduled a 3pm pick up the RV had no power or gas. Owner brought RV to my home 9:30pm with a new battery and propane tank. He had no idea how to work the camper, and the camper has no instruction manuals. He assured me the heat worked. The heat doesn’t not work. He came back this morning to pick up his broken camper. All of this could of been prevented if the owner / RV Share had been responsible and did a pre-check of the camper.
Terrible customer service from this company. I urge anyone thinking of doing business with them to rethink their decision
What a joke.
I am an RV owner. If you want to destroy your RV and do not get anything, do it. I agree with the first two review.
