Wonderful atmosphere! Open air. Even my sweet daughter thought everyone was so nice that she wants to go back there as her normal salon place (she had such an awful experience at Birds that she hasnt let anyone but me cut her hair since so its a big deal.) Cut my hair off for my birthday and had the sweetest and most supportive girl doing it! Thank yall for the experience it was sorely needed to interact with kind strangers.

Mylea was my stylist and she did such an amazing job! I have very thick, course and curly hair and can hardly find anyone who knows how to cut it, and Mylea exceeded my expectations. She was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. Will be returning to her for future appointments

Calling all blondes, Christopher is your new stylist! I was looking for a new hair salon in Austin. After reading all the great reviews of this salon, I decided to book with Christopher. I called and let him know what to expect and he scheduled his entire Saturday to accommodate me. I have long thick hair and usually find my hair stylist exhausted after coloring my heaping head of hair, not Christopher. His attention to detail never wavered. Every strand of my hair was colored, washed, and cut to perfection.I walked in and explained my expectations for my hair and he made my dream come true. He was able to tone all yellow out of my hair and gave me the perfect champagne blonde. The technique he used allows me to wait 3-4 months before going back. Blessing for blondes! He is truly a hair professional and artist. It means a lot to find a good stylist and I am so happy the universe lead me here!

I had a great experience. Michael did a fantastic job, my hair looks amazing. Great conversation, comfortable salon (helloooo wine!), I will definitely be back. I had no trouble with parking, my appointment started right on time, everyone was really friendly.

My stylist is Shannon and she always does a great job. I usually just get a haircut, but its a great haircut! Place is stylish and clean, parking can be a challenge if the lot is full. You have to keep an eye out for the location, but I usually just look for Chris Liquor store which is in the same strip center.

I called in and made an appointment to get a basic guys haircut. Angela cut my hair and did a great job. Price was $40 + tip (a little higher than Id like to pay for a mens haircut). Great place, everything was easy. And because its basically walking distance from my place, no complaints! Id recommend it again.

My experience was great! Went in for a color and trim and was very pleased with my result. Fabian was very friendly and knew what he was doing. Highly recommend! Will be returning in the future.

Brooke Ellington is the absolute best. Ive been going to her for many years, and love the work she does both for myself and my female friends who also go to her. She puts a huge amount of care into cuts to ensure that you look good when you come out the other side. Fantastic human to boot.

Michael is AMAZING!! If you are looking for a stylist who listens and takes their time then I would highly recommend going to see him. I got a balayage and hair cut, and could not be happier with the results. Plus, I have very long, very thick hair and Michael took his time to not rush through it, like other stylists Ive had in the past.

If you need a new stylist, go with Tierney! Ive had several people cut my hair over the years as I move a lot, but Tierney is far and away the best. She cuts my hair perfectly to where it needs low maintenance after and still looks great. She even has me come in for a free touchup after a couple weeks to get my sides done. Love love love.

Ive been going to Shag Salon since I moved to Austin in 2014 and started getting my haircuts from Hayley when she purchased the salon. I used to not care where I got my haircuts but now I schedule my travel around making sure Im home to get my cut by Hayley in. The free cleanups in between cuts and essential oil hot towel wraps are awesome! Hayley is fast, efficient and consistent with her work - I would highly suggest her to anyone in the Austin area!

This modern yet comfortable salon is great! My wife got her hair done by stylist named Nicole. She took her time and showed care and concern for her client and made recommendations for the cut. My wife thouroughly enjoyed the experience.

Holy frack. One of the best hair services I’ve received! Got my hair cut and colored by Crystal. I had been disappointed by my previous cut and color (another place entirely) so I was hoping she could work a little magic and create the hair idea I was originally going for (balayage with copper highlights). It turned out more beautiful than I imagined! She took her time and made sure all my needs were met (red wine while you wait, yes please) and the whole process was excellent. Don’t get me wrong, you’ll spend a pretty penny here, but you’ll receive a quality service!

I had always wanted to do something a little different with my hair and was always told by family, friends, and stylists that it was in my best interest to leave it be. My hair is naturally an auburn color and has been for 26 years. I came to Shag by referral and instantly felt comfortable when I saw the amazing décor, especially the unicorn, and welcoming, friendly staff. I explained what I wanted to do with my hair to Hayley and as opposed to the raised eyebrow, or head shaking I would get previously she beamed with excitement and told me how she could personalize the look for me. I felt at ease and excited for the change. I sipped wine and waited for the color to set and before I knew it the new look was revealed to me, a beautiful ombre transition that was well above my expectations. It was the perfect balance of my natural color and a fun new look I had been so desperately wanting. Hayley is a true artist and Im so happy I found a salon I can call home.

I spoke with Thaer over the phone about an open position at the salon and we set up an interview for the following morning. I received a text at 11:00 pm asking to reschedule for another day because he was sick. I called to try and reschedule but never heard back... three times. I think it is incredibly rude and unprofessional to set up an interview only to blow it off and ignore calls and texts. If this is the way that they treat prospective employees Id hate to see the way they treat their clients.

Ok, im the type of guy who gets a hair cut when his hair is really long and nasty... Or sometimes, i just shave it all off! I went to Shag after my fiancee recommended it and i must say, Brian rocked it! I will be coming back to Shag for more. For sure!Give them a try folks!
