Marcos was generous to take me in as a customer without an appointment. I did not like that one of the fellow associates welcomed me by asking if I had an appointment, it was just a little awkward hospitality wise at first impression. It would be a five-star review, but the business operates only in cash; it made me a little suspicious. I had to go to a local nearby bank to pull some money (with the expected surcharges), and generously gave Marcos a tip on top of the payment for his kind service. Thank you, Marcos!

First time here, and damn, what a place to get your hair cut, as a male; Im impressed with both the cut I got, and the atmosphere. Totally overwhelmingly recommended you try Sportsmans Barber Shop! 9 out of 10 IMO.

About a week and a half ago, my husband and I were in town for a wedding and he needed a beard trim. I Googled barbers near us and Sportsmans caught my eye. We went in with no appointment and saw a lot of people waiting for haircuts and shaves. I thought it would take forever but we were assured that it wouldnt. They are efficient and we were out in about an hour or so. Great service, great people, and a great experience. The owner is the man and is continuing a legacy with this place.

Very rarely do I review a place after only trying it once, but this place is amazing. Got a haircut and beard trim. I just moved to Austin from LA, so this is the first haircut I got out here. I got so many compliments on my hair, and my beard is nice and even. They are very thorough, and finish you off with a neck shave with the straight razor and a wet towel. It feels really good. It costs $34 for a haircut and beard trim, which is very reasonable. I will definitely be coming back here.

I really like going here to get my haircut. Its a good old fashioned no frills barbershop with guys that have been cutting hair for years. While they arent the absolute best cuts, it more than gets the job done and the price ($15-20 depending on what you tip) makes it a great value. They provide all the services you would expect from a barber: neck shave, eyebrows, beard trims, etc.

My husband came to get a shave here at this old school barber shop and it was so nice and it just had a warm feel. My daughter walked in and they were so nice to her and to me. Very nice place to get a shave.

This place is the best. I have been twice and used two different barbers. Both times I received the best haircuts I have ever gotten. Their attention to detail combined with great skill leads to fantastic results. I dont plan on ever going anywhere else; they have a customer for life.

Best guys cut in central Austin. Cuts are efficient and reasonably priced at $20. Some will also do a nice straight razor shave. Some barbers take appointments, others will do first to arrive. But there is television and reads to pass the time.

I would not go back if they paid me to. I recently moved to Austin and was in search for a new barber. I saw this place online that was highly rated and close by so I decided to try it out. If I could go back in time I would knock some sense into myself and not do that. Initially there was no problem. I walked in there was no wait and start getting my hair cut immediately. What a great place I thought. The staff was polite as well. The issues came once the haircut was done and i saw the atrocity on my head. The fade was not a fade but layers instead. The back of my head does not look human anymore. There was a patch on the side of my head that was clearly cut shorter than the rest of the surrounding area. The short patch is what I first noticed so I brought it to attention. The man cutting my hair then has the audacity to say that my hair is just thin there. I was like uh no my hair is not thin there. But this man insists its my hair and not his mistake. It could be believable besides the fact that I have never had a thin patch there before and the rest of my hair was messed up beyond belief. I was mad but judging from the initial job i was not going to trust this man to do anything else to my hair. I just left and booked an appointment somewhere else to fix this monstrosity.

Love this place. Its a very nice shop for a gentleman. Got my bread trimmed and shaped there. Very old school, if had to use 2 words to describe it.David was the barber that took care of me. He made the wife very happy with the shaping of the beard, making it look cleaner. He even went over the products that you commonly use in your beard.

Give a great cut only took 15 minutes the guys are nice and friendly. Their shop is decked out with animals on the wall and other cool stuff and its got a real homey feel to it. Definitely will be coming back, that was 15 dollars well spent

Great place to get your haircut. Im 12 and love going here. Nice people that cut your hair like you want it. And they give out candy and donuts on Saturdays.

I came here a few weeks ago and forgot to write a review. I must admit it I like it. The animal heads on the wall and the country feel gave me peace, but I also liked the Korean lady with an accent. I had a conversation with Mikey about school and he informed me that his son had graduated at Texas State University. My favorite thing about this shop is the straight razor(which I havent found since I was in the Air Force) and the affordability. Great place, and the only place I plan on getting my haircuts. No more fantastic Sams or whatever the name of it is called in Walmart.I would advise those who are planning to come here to bring cash as they do not accept debit or credit which is fine with me I do not mind. Oh and I am not sure of their hours, but they are not open Sunday or Monday (I found that out the hard way lol)
