I enjoy getting my haircut here! They are an old style traditional barber shop and do great work. I like a traditional military style haircut with tapered up the sides and short on top and they do an excellent job with this style. The people are friendly and do good work. I like the little massage and shave around the ears and back of the neck as well.

First time going there today - Lacy gave me a great hair cut, was super friendly and the whole shop was fun to be around. Been a bit of a journeyman with Austin barbershops but this was definitely the best overall experience!

I love going to see Pam. I am not good at fixing my hair myself and she has helped me find a style that I can keep up. Shes always friendly and the day of my wedding she fixed my hair beautifully and even had a Starbucks latte waiting for me!

I liked the haircut but the subtle sarcasm I could have done with out or being scolded like a child that I was 15 minutes early and I MUST wait for the guy in front of me who was exactly on time. It was the tone that was used that offended me. Im nearly 50 yrs old. They also have some snarly obese woman there, whose humor is a bit sarcastic and bit rude. She does not smile and her whole demeanor is a bit condescending to deal with. She will scare off allot of customers unless she changes her attitude towards people.There is a plethora of barber shops in Austin that are much friendlier and make a person feel welcome even if they are a bit early. One can never predict Austin Traffic. GOD forbid, I was late!I doubt I will go back!

I love this place. I really love Pams work on my fine hair and think Pam is awesome, but Im actually posting because of an amazing discovery I made about Diane, who filled in to help fit my schedule.Turns out Diane is knowledgeable about natural, no-shampoo techniques. I was reluctant to explain to any hairdresser that I went no-poo about five months ago. But when I admitted it, she didnt miss a beat. She smiled and told me all about her experiences styling at an all-natural hair salon in another state. She asked great questions about my baking soda, vinegar, and honey routines. She even made sure I was rinsing with water in the proper order, something that took me a lot of trial and error to figure out on my own. It was a huge relief to be able to talk to someone who knows Im not crazy.The coolest part? Not only was she really kind and accepting about this, but after my lovely cut she actually taught me a new way to dry my hair. Its a technique that involves a scalp massage and a particular way of rubbing the hair, and I was really, really impressed. She did that for me without even asking, just defaulting to the most natural option because she knew it mattered to me. Even though it takes longer than blowdrying. Even though it was the very end of the day and she probably could have gone home sooner if she had just picked up the blowdrier.I did research before I went back to Crestview Barbershop because I was nervous about telling a hairdresser about my decision to go natural on hair care. I could not find ANY stylist in Austin advertising that they are experienced in the no-poo method, unless it was particular to certain kinds of kinky or curly hair. This is Austin, for crying out loud! I cannot be the only person here trying all-natural methods with this. And yet, its really hard to find someone who advertises any knowledge on the topic. I was absolutely floored to find out that the expert was at my own favorite local place already.Oh, and if that werent enough to sell you on it, the price couldnt be beat. Super affordable.I cant recommend Pam and Diane enough. Both are super friendly and professional. Im definitely going back to Crestview Barbershop and highly recommend them!

The place is awesome i was having a bad visit at a supercuts and drove to arlans for some bread seen the Barrett shop so we stopped by and we loved it thelady who cut my sons hair was awesome and did a wonderful job...... My son will definatly be back!!
