It can be hard to find a stylist who can deliver a good skin fade in Austin, Boardroom West Lake has you covered. Taylor G at Boardroom in Westlake is amazing! I cannot recommend this business enough. They are always clean, friendly reception, punctual appointments, and great conversation! Do yourself a favor and stop in, ask for Taylor G.

This place is well worth the money. They actually sit you down and talk about a haircut you want and give you a beer when you walk in. They also dip your hand in hot wax and then give you a scalp and hand massage. The people are nice and friendly and do an amazing job at cutting hair

While the cut could have been more specific I suppose on my part I thought the use of a photo mightve cleared up the wanting of a mid to lower fade but...beard was nicely shapened but the cut was far higher than my liking.

I have always liked my haircuts and the friendliness of my stylist. However, the receptionist has been, lets just say off-putting the last two times I came in, and I dont feel particularly welcome there anymore. Luckily there are so many great places in Austin. Hopefully my experience with the receptionist is a one off because this place is actually a great place to get a fresh cut.

I am a loyal customer of this salon since last few years . I had an appointment today and they called me at noon to postpone the appointment by 15 min and i accommodated them. I was late by 7 min and they were like we can’t do the cut you want because you are late by 7 min though after an argument they agreed, i don’t understand what was the need of argument ?? They themselves can’t accommodate a customer by 7 min and expect that customers accommodates them that too by giving a call few hours prior .I am thinking to move to another salon where they are more understanding and caring for customers .

I’m still in shock at my horrendous experience at the boardroom today. Everything was going so smoothly when halfway through my haircut my barber pulled a gun on me and the other employees in the workplace. He fired a couple rounds off into the ceiling and then proceeded to hit the take the L dance for 5 minutes before sprinting away. That was the last thing I had ever expected to happen. I think I need therapy now. Thank you boardroom for ruining my life.

I was not happy with my haircut and was told that they were booked and couldn’t fix it same day. Later, I received a call back from Sara (Sarah?). She was great, very accommodating and helpful. She found a place to squeeze in a quick appointment for me to make me happy with the outcome. This is great customer service that I appreciate.

Place lied about being open and wasted 3 hours of my time. Very unprofessional and a terrible company. Take a look at their yelp reviews where they only respond to positive reviews. No backbone and no leadership coming from them. Go somewhere else

I have been a weekly customer for the past 5 months after my 6 month membership purchase. A weekly clean up and hair trim is very necessary to always look our best, and they accomplish that here at The Boardroom. The convenience if you are in Dallas or San Antonio to visit the other Boardrooms is a great option; as there is no extra charge with a membership just make the appointment. They keep their appointments and the wait if any is minimal that is something that is very very important to me.HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business. Tried out the hand and foot grooming EXCELLENT WORK. Very convenient to get it all done in one place. Keep up the EXCELLENT work.

Ive been to this location numerous times and I never leave unimpressed. The professional service Boardroom offers makes getting a haircut a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Jeniffer did a fantastic job cutting my hair (even though I was long overdue) and gave me insight on the best hair products for me to use. Anyone involved in a profession where they are constantly required to look their sharpest should look no further. Worth every dollar.

I purchased the package to have the ability to call in and schedule haircuts for a year. This was in August. Things were great until the end of January. When I would call, I could not get scheduled that day or the next. This occurred several times. I asked to speak to the manger for an explaination. I was told she was out of town and would call me in 5 days when she returned. 2 weeks later I called back. I was told they have staffing issues and were running at min staff.I asked for a refund for the remaining portion of the annual purchase. I was told the agreement could not be refunded. I entered into this with the business being fully staffed. Customer service is lacking. I would go somewhere else for a haircut. Do not buy the express or other annual package. You will regret it as I do.

I have been going here for 5 years and never had a bad haircut. The atmosphere is great and all the employees are super friendly. Ill keep going here as long as I live in Austin.

Have used Boardroom for about 8 months. Love the appointments and consistent stylist. I was impressed enough that I bought the year membership - effectively I now go once per week for the price I was paying for every two or three weeks plus I receive a discount on other services. Highly recommended, glad you are in Austin.Ive had cuts from Jennifer, Sharon and Jordan - all wonderful, great personalities and amazingly consistent.

This was my 3rd trip to the Boardroom and my first at this location. I absolutely love this place! Brandi was very helpful when I booked my appointment over the phone and had a beverage to quench my thirst after a long day. My stylist Sharon had just moved to Austin and we had great conversation while she cut and styled my hair. The shampoo and massage were fantastic and allowed me to get centered again after a stressful couple of weeks. After my hair was styled I just chatted with Sharon and Brandi at the front desk until I finished my beer. I have always had great haircuts at the Boardroom and I will definitely be back soon.Some of the worst mistakes of my life have been haircuts and I am glad to finally have a place that has consistently done a good job. As soon as I can save up for it it, I will get a membership. It is totally worth it. I would recommend this place to any gentleman who is seeking to up his dapperness. The Boardroom is the best place to get a haircut.... handsdown! No waiting upon arrival, just schedule a time and upon arrival you are offered something to drink, taken back for a first class haircut, massaging shampoo and hand and arm massage. Their annual memberships make it even more affordable and keep you looking great year round. Staff is very friendly and have years of experience.

I received a gift certificate. The cut was supposed to come with styling consultation and I asked but thats not really a thing. The cost was a little high considering its a cut, shampoo and hand massage. The service was nice enough though.

I was running late and was told on the phone if I was 15 minutes late Id have to get an express cut instead of an executive. I arrived 12 minutes late and they tried to force me to get an express cut anyway. I left. I will never go back. The place was dead. No customers at all. No excuse for not honoring your own policy!After discussion with the regional manager I am even unhappier. I feel that anyone who books appointments here is at risk of your service being lowered to a different tier at any time. The manager wouldnt even admit to the 15 minute policy. She implied that they could claim that they dont have time to do the massage or hot towel treatment even if you were less than 15 minutes late.I suggested that they need to change their policies if they wont even stand by them.I would encourage you to find alternative options. Austin is a great city. We have a lot of choices.BTW I have time stamps (cell phone call and GPS tracking mileage app on my phone) to prove I had already been there, and left before the 15 minutes.

WOW! This place definitely lived up to its reputation! This was my first visit and there is no way I will go anywhere else. Brandi made my day upon arrival and showed me the ropes, offering beverages, lounge area, and comfort. Sharon gave me an amazing haircut as I had been growing my hair out and had no idea what style I was looking for. She had an awesome vision and I was pumped to see my new doo! My appointment was at 4:45PM and they were finished with me by 4:54PM. I paid $46 for quickest haircut I have ever experienced. My expectations were way too high thinking this was supposed to be an “experience”. I would recommend going to Floyd’s, they spend more time and even give you a message for a much better price

Ive been visiting the boardroom for years now. I was previously going to the Houston location and moved here and was pleasantly surprised to find one here. The nice thing about these salons is you get what you pay for all the girls here have several years of experience so you are guaranteed to not have thT person straight from school. Hands down I was nervous switching barbers being the fact i used the same barber for my entire life until the age of 28 by far the best haircut experience a man can get! I recommend starting with the Benchmark. Katherine was amazing worth every penny and will continue to work with Katherine from here on out. THIS PLACE TOPS FINLEYS!!! I was very pleased with my experience at the boardroom... having had the same hairstyle forever, it just wasnt working for me anymore. I had no idea what kind of style to ask for. As I am a young professional I wanted something that reflected both my youth and my professionalism, but felt limited due to my hair thinning! I went in and was greeted immediately by Brandi, their amazing front desk talent, who grabbed me a delicious Austin Amber beer. Sports on the TV, I was ready to watch football. I hadnt been sitting for even five minutes when Brandi notified me that my stylist was ready. She introduced me to my stylist who took me back, listened to my wants in a haircut, and discussed some options with me. Like I said I didnt know what to ask for, and I could tell she knew what she was doing, so I told her I would just let her have the reigns and hope for the best. My jaw almost hit the floor when I saw her work. IT LOOKED GREAT!! It really made me about 2 inches taller. After the cut she pampered me with a wash, hand wax dip, hot towel with aroma therapy, and a forearm/hand massage. After I got styled up, there was bubbly Brandy again to check me out. Ya know, this girl is amazing! If the atmosphere and the pampering werent enough to get me to come back, Id come back just to see her! I felt like I looked great, but she made me feel like everyone else thought I looked great too!! Dont go anywhere Brandi! Westlake needs your friendly, and uplifting presence!!! Visited for the first time this past weekend, and have nothing but great things to say about the Boardroom on West Lake. The stylist was knowledgeable and friendly, the atmosphere was top notch, and the cut itself looked fantastic and lasted exactly as long as their original time estimate (which is huge if youre in a rush). Great experience and will definitely be visiting again soon.

I have been a member at this location for the past two years and always look forward to getting a benchmark as often as possible. Great location and great team. Make sure to arrive early so you can unwind with the free beer.

Not very happy. Dull scissors and cut way too much so now it just looks lumpy on top with shaved sides. For $45 I don’t really want a “free” drink or a spa treatment. I just want someone to take their time cutting hair. And when you cut too much, I have to wait a month before coming back, which means less frequent sales.They offered to give me my money back, but I don’t care about that. I want my hair back.

I used to love this place, service is great and all the employees are awesome. But their membership policy has made them fall out as my favorite barbershop. I signed up for a year membership and when renewal time came up, I was about to finish a project and evaluating whether to move away from Austin. So I signed up for a 6 month membership. At the end of that one, my job could likely take me to Seattle. I asked if I could sign up for the yearly membership and if I had to move then have a percentage of the upfront cost reimbursed and they simply said no. Very odd as multiple businesses which have similar membership schemes do have an early exit policy if you need to leave the city. I mean, who can, nowadays, guarantee that youll have the same job one year from now?

The Boardroom is by far the best location Ive come across for my hair needs. The level of precision and affordances far surpass all experiences Ive had before. I drive half an hour just to get a 30 minute cut, and goes to show how Ill go above and beyond as they have for me—great place!

(TLDR, Best and most relaxing haircut Ive ever gotten, would recommend to EVERYONE)I booked my appointment for the Boardrooms signature Benchmark service online, the process was fast and simple. The location is right off of Mopac so it was really easy to get to.When I first arrived I was kindly greeted and asked if I was coming in for an appointment. I confirmed that I had made an appointment and was then introduced my hair stylist, Lydia H. I was offered a drink from a range of beers and other beverages before sitting down in an extremely comfortable large leather chair. The interior was stunning, everything looked brand new and clean and it smelled very fresh. The stylist asked if I liked the cut that I came in with (I didnt, it was a bad cheap one) and what I was looking for. She made it really easy to tell her what I wanted even though I was quite bad at articulating it.The hair cut was very enjoyable and is definitely the best hair cut Ive EVER gotten. My wife was amazed at how good it looked!After the hair cut I was taken to a comfortably lit room a little further in the back for the other Benchmark services. As a guy, I dont usually have any pampering done... but after this I might have to reconsider my stance on that! I had my hands gently dipped in the paraffin then wrapped and put in a comfortable mitten. The shampoo, conditioning, and scalp massage was wonderful. The hand massage was great, it especially felt good because of the warmth and texture of the paraffin. The whole experience was very relaxing, I almost fell asleep a few times!I will definitely be coming back to this location for the next time I need a haircut!

All Im saying is, next time I have a big drinking weekend and need a haircut, Im booking a benchmark for sunday afternoon.

Miss Arica is the only barber I have tried in this place, and I have been hooked since day 1. They greet you with your favorite beverage at the door followed by a nice man cave style leather chair to sit in. They maintain their schedule, and above all these ladies know what they are doing! I have been 4 times so far, and every haircut / beard trim has been perfected by miss Arica! Thank you for making me feel like a boss!

Whats not to love? The moment you walk in either Brandi or Illiana are there to greet you with a smile and offer you a beverage and great conversation while you wait. With an almost pub like feel (that beverage is always a beer for me) and lovely ladies to chat with its like a little mid day happy hour. After my haircut and beard trim, the true pampering begins with a paraffin hand dip and a soothing hair wash followed by a hot towel and relaxing massage.While I do have my favorite, Annjelica, Kimberly and Lexi are all fantastic stylists and wonderful masseuses. I was hesitant at first to spend the cash on a membership, but it is absolutely the way to go. I now have a standing weekly appointment. While a standard Benchmark service isnt cheap, its really not expensive either when you consider what you are getting and if you do like me and get a membership, it winds up being a bargain.After years of battling with trying to grow out a beard; Id always shave it off because I felt it looked scraggly and unkept, I am now two months into this one and with Annjelicas convincing and expert shaping techniques I think I may just keep this one for quite some time.I seriously cannot recommend this place highly enough.See ya next week girls...cheers!!!
