AWFUL!! Ihad Carmen and my haircut was uneven. I asked for face framing and an inch off the ends. She didnt frame my face she chopped off 5 in of a difference between my face and my longest length with no taper. She didnt bother giving me a mirror and I LITERALLY was in the chair for 9 minutes. Devastated with my haircut before my vacation as well as the waste of money.

Ive been coming to this location for about a year now, after going to the one at the Arboretum for about 4 years. This location is the best location. The ladies here are skilled, they listen, pay attention, and care about what you look like and if youre happy. Ive had every lady in this shop cut my hair at least once and it always looks great. Ive had several coworkers who pay ridiculous prices for their cuts ask me where I got my hair cut at and I always tell them GREAT HAIRCUTS. Why pay two or three times more for the same or less of a cut? I love this place and all the great women who take the time to banter and chat while giving great service and great haircuts. Lora has been cutting my hair since 2010. I started taking my little one with me when he turned 3 and he absolutely loves Lora. Now he is 7, we moved out of Texas 2 years ago, but each time we are back in Austin to visit we make it a point to stop by for a hair cut. Lora is that awesome!

The online appointment setup is no good.

I luckily discovered Lora at Great Haircuts around 15 years ago, and since then my father, mother, wife and two kids have all become loyal customers. Not to mention the list of friends who now go out of their way to get their hair cut by Lora. It would be amazing if Great Haircuts offered a way to “get in line” electronically, instead of requiring customers to show up and physically sign a waiting list, but that’s my only suggestion.

I go here all the time and it is always a really good experience and haircut. My family goes here too and they are usually satisfied with their haircuts too! Granted the vacuum IS pretty loud, but it’s worth the money aside that. I recommend Bert or Bertha.

I chose this establishment because its apparently locally-owned and because of the positive reviews. I also saw that the owner was responsive to the reviews. I thought, If the owner is this responsive to reviews, surely they run a pretty tight ship. I also saw a comment from the owner that said, We only employ experienced stylists. So, I was feelin pretty good about the choice. When I arrived, I was able to walk-in and only waited about 60 seconds and a lady named Carmen (I think) took me to a chair. Hey, great, no wait. She asked me how I wanted my hair cut, so I told her. Literally, five minutes later - no exaggeration - she was asking me how I liked it. I was a little surprised... I had never received a hair cut that quickly... but when I looked in the mirror to check it out... I knew why. This was by far the worst hair cut Ive ever received. I could tell her clippers and scissors were dull because they kept pulling my hair. Nothing was even... nothing... it was supposed to be a simple medium-fade... instead its a... heck, I dont even know... I just wanted out of there, so I said, Well, its shorter than it was and I bolted - never to return. My co-worker laughed at me when I returned to the office... and hes bald... Seriously, if you dont care about your work or the service you provide, you should change careers - that message is for both the employee and the employer. The price of the haircut was about $15 but its going to be more like $35 because Ill have to purchase a hat to wear for the next 3 weeks. FIND ANOTHER ESTABLISHMENT - dont fall for the we only hire experienced stylists bit... they obviously just want to get you in and get you out as fast as possible with no concern for quality of work.

I thought I was part of a practical joke as I got my haircut here. The lady (I know her name, but somehow feel bad for her so wont say) who cut my hair is truly the worst Ive ever encountered.I asked for a #2 on the sides, about an inch off the top, cropping the hair instead of making straight cuts, and a finish with texture scissors.The stylist (if you can even call her one) proceeded to wet my hair, comb it straight down on all sides, and make straight cuts all the way around leaving me with what was identical to a bowl cut. I had patches of uncut hair on the sides because she was so lazy with her clippers. She did no trimming over my ears or the back of my neck and when I asked if she was going to do the texturing, she said no because I had thinning hair.... (I promise Im not just a balding guy in denial when I say: I have a full head of very thick hair)The entire process lasted 6 minutes, and the butcher even had the nerve to watch and see if I was including a tip as I signed the receipt, I kid you not.Needless to say, I didnt just feel cheated, I was cheated. To the owner, please save your apologies, and for Gods sake do some restaffing.

I took my 12 year old in there for a simple cut. The dark skinned lady did ok on the top but when his hair dried the back was butchered. Not clean cut or even. I wont be back for a $16 cut(tip included).

Terrible. Didnt listen to a word I said about how I wanted it cut. I asked for it to be left a little on the long side, cheekbone length with an inch or two in the back, and ended up with it above my eyebrows and barely a half inch long in the back. I started with a 10 inch ponytail and was trimmed down with a clipper instead of scissors! Will not EVER go back.
