If professionalism is something you would like from a business, then avoid this barber shop.However, if you enjoy very loud club music while getting your haircut and don’t mind employees belching, yelling, singing loudly, and whistling, then this is the place for you!The only reason I gave it more than 1 star was because the woman who cut my beard, May, was absolutely wonderful. Everything else was abysmal.Best part of the experience was exiting the building.

If you want cheap and generic haircuts that are expensive for the price, go to this place, idk who it was but when I come over here this guy that worked there gave me the most ugliest haircut there was, and charge me $30 for it, like I can go somewhere else that is more cheaper, AND can do a good job, do not recommend.

Really great barber shop. Jason has been cutting my hair for years and always does a stellar job. You can call in and make reservations or walk in, and all of the barbers take great pride in their work. They have some good hair products on sale as well. Highly recommended, Ill keep coming back.

Went here for a crucial haircut before a big show. My man Geoff got me in right on time, gave me a super clean cut, and even hit me with all the best BBQ spots outdoor swimming holes and bars to visit. First time there. Appreciated the greetings from Jason, one of the barbers. I didnt have an appointment, which is highly recommended, but they were able to get me in for a cut 30 minutes later. That wasnt bad. I cant wait to go back and try one of the other barbers to see which one gives me the best cut.

I had an appointment with big shot Jason at 3:30 pm today, which I arranged with him over the phone. He was like “no worries, we’ll take care of you”.... I get there 3:25, he’s cutting someone else’s hair. At 3:55, he is done with the gentleman, and then he seats somebody else!!!! Without even a glimpse of hesitation or even a word. What a complete joke. Happy to say I will NEVER go back or recommend anyone to go there. Keep your “regulars”.

I was recommended TBS by a buddy of mine and I have to say I was really pleased with the service. Great attention to detail, my barber Jason was friendly and easy to talk to, helpful with styling and choice of cut, plus the tunes they play are FANTASTIC. It took every ounce of me not to burst out and sing along to some Tom Jones. Ive been getting great compliments on my haircut and its all thanks to Texas Barber Service!

I really wish I could give Texas Barber Service 5 stars. Every haircut Ive gotten there has been great, the only problem is that prices keep getting raised. When I first started going to TBS it was around $20 a haircut and now its $30.Im officially priced out and Im sure others are too. The former price increase hurt, but it was still worth it. I love this place and Im disappointed that this pricing is beginning to alienate long-time customers like myself. However, I have to emphasize that Jason, Nicole, and the rest of the team are great. If you dont mind spending a little more on a haircut, this is the place to go.

Come here occasionally with my boyfriend. He always LOVES his hair cut, and gets great compliments. I saw someone else say it was the best fade in Austin, and I can say my boyfriend has made the same comment to me. They even trim up his beard too which I appreciate! Nice barber atmosphere. They always have good old time-y music on. As far as Ive seen its normally not too busy, but they clearly take pride in their work, and greatness takes time. The only problem I have with this place is that the waiting chairs dont have cushions. #firstworldproblems But I imagine the actual chairs are quite comfy

I really wanted to love this place. I visited for my first time and got the best haircut of my life! 4 weeks later I go in for my pre-wedding haircut. I was jazzed because I really loved my cut from before and it is a BIG occasion. I go in on Friday 30 minutes before they close. My bad, but I could not get loose from work any earlier... there are 2 barbers on duty and NO one there. I got turned away because were booked up. I spoke with Jason. Jason your a liar. If I was your boss I would fire you on the spot.

Jason was so awesome. I was helping my boyfriend find a barber to tend to his hair and beard after not having much luck with stylists. I called Jason and he scheduled the appointment right away. He listened to what his customer wanted and the end result was fantastic. We couldnt have hoped for better. Seems like you have to part of their crew or friends with one of the barbers to get service. I was ignored sitting waiting for a haircut for over 30 minutes while regulars I guess are greated right away. There are enough places to get a good haircut in Austin where they actually say hi when you walk in not literally ignore you. Not one worker even said hi to me. They totally ignored me. I can take my money elsewhere.

My haircuts have always been great here but twice they have been unable to meet my appointment times. I understand 10 minutes here and there, but both times were over a half hour delay. The reason I make appointments is to avoid waiting. It’s a shame. The excuse that was given was that they’ve been busy, but I made my appointments days in advance. They should see the appointment on a scheduling service and schedule around it. Sadly, I’m never coming back again because of all of this. Overall decent haircuts, though.

I enjoyed my experience here, I was in Austin for the weekend and needed a haircut luckily for me the person who had an appointment was late so they took me in. The ladies were very helpful in recommending places to visit. Also you get to jam to some great tunes as you get a haircut or shave. Major shoutout to Krystal for taking care of me that day! Ill gladly set an appointment ahead of my next visit to ATX.

Im not sure of the quality of the cut because it never happened. After showing up at 10:10 for a 10:15 appointment with Jason, I sat and waited until 10:35 (20 mins after the start time of a 30 minute scheduled haircut). He was basically finished at that point, but I had already lost enough time and patience.Im not sure of the point of an appointment only system (they dont take walk-ins) if youre not going to honor the time of the appointment.

My hair cut experience was horrible.First this guy cuts my ear several times with the clippers. Made me wonder if he knew what he was doing. Then cuts off a lot of my hair when I all I asked for was a trim. He then told me he was in a rush and needed to hurry up with my hair cut. He doesnt finish cutting my beard. He charged me full price!!! $32 for a cut and shave. These prices are not worth the service you are getting. When I got home to finish cutting my beard, I noticed none of my beard lines were straight. So much for paying for a beard cut and shave when now I have to shave it all off because the lines arent straight. I did not complain there at the business. Because when I first walked in there they were talking mess about a previous customer who had complained about a hair cut. I shouldve left the moment I heard this. I should have never came to this place for a hair cut. NEITHER SHOULD YOU. They specialize in buzz cuts and chilli bowl hair cuts. Thats pretty much what my comb-over hair style looks like now. They dont care about the customer service, seems like theyre just there to make a paycheck.

I let Jason take care of my hair, just said make it look good. His skills did not disappoint!!! Will be going here often.
