This was my first visit to Bishops and I loved it. The music was super chill and the shop just has a really good vibe. Savannah cut my hair after no haircut for like 2 years, and I love the results. 10/10 recommend :)

Very traumatic experience. The front desk stylist did not incorporate any of the initial input I gave her. I ended up with a super short cut while I wanted longer hair. It doesnt fit my style at all. Unfortunately this is before a major event Ive been planning all year. Usually stylists listen to their customers. This one did not, and it was uncomfortable to let her know my style. She also cut against what clearly was a different style before second guessing.This never happens (most stylists listen to their customers). The entire time I felt like she knew better than I did. I would have much rather had her cut less than cut too much which cannot be fixed.The place itself is very nice. I might have had a one off bad experience. I do think, however, people working in the service industry need to listen to their customers and not force their views.

Bishops is the best place in town to get your hair done!! I’ve gone to Nick twice and I always leave feeling like a new woman! It’s crazy how good a fresh cut and color can make you feel. He is so fun and friendly, and he does AMAZING work, especially with color. Flawless. I’m sad to see him go but I trust that I will be in good hands when I go back for my next appointment. Thank you Bishops and thank you Nick!!!

Bishops is great! My stylist was Nico and they were very friendly and understood exactly what I was going for. And the prices are fantastic! If youre tired of paying $80 for a haircut...which you should be...go here. (Also, right now theyre doing a student discount on top of their already-amazing prices.) I cant see myself ever going anywhere else.

Chloe gave me an amazing haircut! But not just that, she also gave me (a hair newbie) valuable hair maintenance tips that I very much appreciate. Very friendly staff, amazing decor and vibe. Overall, excellent experience. Looks like I’ve found my new hair shop!

Great great hair salon! I came in with some hair issues that I was self conscious about (shedding mostly) which has kept me out of a salon for a year. But I saw the great reviews and took a chance. Lacey was so so helpful to consult about those issues without making me feel embarrassed! And she left me with a wonderful cut with deep conditioning that made me feel so refreshed and like my hair looks healthier than it has in a long time. They are also ALL super friendly and make you feel welcome, even with a beverage if there is any wait! As someone who was nervous about going back to a salon, I have to say I could not have been happier with me experience!

Can’t recommend highly enough!! Super courteous staff, nice welcoming atmosphere, and some real talent! While i went in for a simple trim, my partner got her hair cut and styled beautifully by Julz. Chloe was meticulous and trimmed and layered my hair perfectly :) Definitely going again, you don’t get great service and vibes like you do at Bishops, seemingly anywhere else in Austin!

This was my second time getting a haircut at Bishops. The last time I came in, the service was perfect, in fact, one of the best haircuts Ive ever received --full points and beyond on the haircut, politeness, customer handling, like every aspect of it was excellent. However, I forgot the name of my hair stylist and let the job scheduler do its work. This time I went in to get a haircut with Savannah and my experience was horrible since my reception. The reception was cold without a greeting. I was asked to describe a haircut --Im usually sloppy on this and expect the stylist to give a few suggestions and then proceed from there. This time there was no suggestion whatsoever. After the haircut was decided on, my stylist started working on it and boy, nobody has ever EVER been so rough with their trimmer. It was evident that I was in pain when my stylist was using it on my sides, but they didnt stop and rather did it more roughly. Thankfully, they chose not to talk during the haircut. I thought the cut would cheer me up to being neutral and it kinda did. However, there was some tweaking required that even the Supercuts stylists do when you ask them --nobody has ever refused such a small tweak but my stylist today did and obviously, I was not happy about it. The haircut was good but customer handling, professionalism the worst Ive seen. I would recommend yall to choose your stylist wisely.

Kass is awesome, I’ve never been so happy and confident with my hair as I am with my mullet! I’ll be a loyal client as long as I’m in Austin. Also super love the vibe of the place, very queer and trans friendly and I feel as safe as can be with the lovely people at this location.

I never give 5 stars. No place is perfect. However for me this place is. The atmosphere is so eclectic and edgy. You feel like your walking in to visit your favorite family.I surprised my heart daughter with a cut and color. Needless to say a week later and she is still bragging. For her this cut was a confident builder.

No complaints. Warmly greeted, fun space, nice work by Julz, in and out quickly but was listened to and not rushed. I left seeing exactly what my hair would look like going forward, as opposed to a stylist trying to make my hair do something it normally wouldnt. Will definitely recommend and go back for cuts.

I was searching for a place to get my haircut and Bishops had amazing reviews so I decided to take a chance, and I was so glad I did!! Such a great vibe and everyone was so friendly. Chloe was amazing and did SUCH a good job cutting my hair!! I rarely get my haircut and now I want to go back again and again. I have really long hair and she was able to keep the length while adding layers to frame my face. Overall, I was so impressed and would highly recommend Bishops and Chloe!

I hate to have to give negative review, but i gave many chances to maintain a loyal customer. I have to reschedule many times to try and get the color right, even spend majority of my day at the salon, but I just ran out of patience with the inconsistency. I though i found the right stylist to do dye my hair, but after today I just lost hope . Leaving with low confidence and unhappy with the end results wasnt the first time. when Im not the only one to see a big chance in my hair color then Im not exaggerating. Im not a perfectionist and Im not expecting them to be either, but I just wished for some consistency.

My teen daughters had so much fun getting their long cuts, deep conditions and style. Everyone is always so friendly here, and the atmosphere is laid back and enjoyable. The cuts are perfect and theyre so happy. Thanks to Nico and Heather, you made their day!

My fiance went there today to get his hair dyed, and I guess today he had it. I dont blame him, because everytime he comes back its totally different color. I myself notice the inconsistency in his hair color, and it bothers me to see him disappointed. He spends almost all day at the salon, and pays good money to get it done. Overall not bad people, just really bad experience in consistency.

Decided last second I needed to cut my long hair with this HEAT. I was happy to be recommended this place by a Twitter mutual, as well as the fact that Bishops had appointments available the same day.Nico was nice, personable, and did an AMAZING job with my hair. Heather has skills. My son loves seeing Heather, and he normally will not sit still for a hair cut, or at least not look forward to it - now he will not see anyone else. We love Heather because her cuts look so great; even if Joey rolls out of bed and leaves the house without brushing his hair, his hair still looks styled. She is detailed oriented and takes the time to get it right. This shows in her coloring skills as well. She really cares about her craft and her customers. Her co-workers are really nice as well.

Had the pleasure of meeting Kass yesterday and having her fix up my hair. This salon is so relaxed and cool. Not at all pretentious and very LGBTQ friendly. I had a great time chatting with her and my hair turned out awesome! I also like that you can pick and choose services you want to keep it more budget friendly. I can’t wait to go back and add some funky color.

I have been here twice and have been 100 percent delighted both times. They stop and listen you your every word about the service you are wanting, ensure that the fully understand before starting, provide recommendations based on your desired and hair, talk through their processes, have a relaxed persona and make it a very trusted experience. I had nick do my blonde color fix and he took into consideration all the factors with my hair and fixed it amazingly and I just had a cut by Chloe who did a perfect job. I will be going back!

I really wish I would have cut my hair myself. I have long hair and I wanted a trim and some layering. Obviously she made a mistake because there is a part in the back right of my head where the hair is much much shorter than my bangs section…this is gonna take years to grow out. looks so bad I just want to cry.

This shop has been my go-to for awhile now. I have only ever worked with Nick and he is AWESOME! He really takes the time to listen to what you want, and whatever service Im getting never feels rushed. Im usually a budget cuts kind of gal, but I feel I get my moneys worth here. At first Id written off Bushops because I thought it was going to be one of those overpriced, pretentious boutique salons, but the shop has great energy and the people are down to earth. I would 100% recommend.

Heather cut my hair, and I absolutely LOVE IT! I came in with really long hair that extended just below my chest. Heather was so sweet and accommodating from the moment I walked in. I requested a cut to my collar bone and briefly showed her a few reference photos. She understood right away how I wanted it.This is the first time Ive ever had my hair THIS short and I say if youre considering it, do it! You wont regret it with Heather. This was the 2nd time I have come into this shop. I have received excellent services both times. The staff are friendly and are able to help you learn about your hair care needs. They are also being extremely careful to protect the health of their customers and staff which was much appreciated by me.

Julz listened to me and let me be as picky as I want with how I wanted my hair cut and my bangs trimmed. I have a very specific style and she stuck to it. My hair feels healthy and looks great!

Holy cow, where do I even start?! From the moment I walked in I felt more comfortable here then I have with any other salon, the inside is extremely well decorated without over doing it. I felt welcome the moment I was addressed, Kass was such an amazing person and super fun to talk to! I had shown them a random picture on the internet and they with it! I started going here to get my hair done after my boyfriend told me how much he liked it! Super laid back and fun atmosphere. Everyone Ive met has been extremely friendly and welcoming. Ive had my hair cut and colored here and have always been happy with the service. In fact, recently, I decided to take a plunge and go from blonde to red - and Nick Vago absolutely nailed it! He was also amazing at answering my questions and explaining what I needed to know about going red. The color turned out perfect and Ive received so many compliments. I could not be happier.

Ive been to a lot of places to get my haircut in Austin over the years, and have been consistently disappointed. Then one semi-cold winter day I decided to trot into Bishops on South Lamar to give em a try. SO glad I did! Since then, Ive been crazy impressed every time with how knowledgeable, careful, courteous, and fun the staff is. Ive had haircuts/beard trims done by Julz and Nick, and every time I have walked out feeling a Fabio level of confidence in my haircut, and like Ive got the beard game of Jason Momoa. They are just AWESOME, talented, and wonderful people. I normally go to Floyds off Brodie, but it is hit or miss. I saw Bishops stellar reviews and I was intrigued.My experience was excellent. This is the best haircut Ive had in ages. I liked how easy it was to reserve a time on Google. The conversation was also excellent.They are doing a great job.

If you have never been to Bishops go.They have the very best colorists clippers down in all of Austin.Yep, truth.Phenomenal prices. I had so much fun there and the staff are finally, F**friendly awesome and it will not kill your pocketbook.I made a quick video Just For Fun simply so I could send it to Autumn and the staff thanks guys.

This was my first time at Bishop and me and my wife had an amazing experience. Nick was so amazing. He made great conversation, gave me tips on how to take care of my hair from the way I blow dry it to the shampoo I should use. He walked me through everything he was doing and my hair cut turned out better than I could have expected. Bishop is taking all the safety measure to make sure the shop is sanitized and I felt very safe. I can’t wait to return back.
