Thought this was a good place but they left the 3 back screws out of the plastic cover under the engine, I only realized when I heard it dragging. Now I have to look for these obscure VW screws. It makes me question how well the other work was done (spent over $1k on maintenence). They also told me that they wish they didnt work on Volkswagens anymore, so maybe that is part of the problem.

I have two Volvos that have previously only been serviced by the dealership. After some insanely high quotes for work from the dealership I decided to look for a new mechanic. I found Austin Vol-Tech and had them check out the repairs. Their quotes were hundreds of dollars less than the dealership and the work happened much faster (2 days vs the week and a half the dealership said was the minimum amount of time needed). Since my initial visit I have had Austin Vol-Tech do multiple repairs and maintenance needs on the cars and have been beyond pleased with their service, value, and expertise. I can not see taking my cars back to the dealership when Austin Vol-Tech is an option

This is a good locally owned repair shop. They specialize in servicing Volvos only.As a result there very professional at their work and know almost everything about Volvo vehicles. They are more expensive than other repair shops but if they say they fix the problem you can be sure it was fixed.Personally I do not like Volvo vehicles they are expensive to fix And over complicated regarding vehicle engineering. As a result being able to say with certainty that your car is fixed is akin to flying to the moon and back. These guys do a grate job but yes they charge for there services.

Great Volvo service center. This is a place that really cares about your vehicle as much as you do. I needed to have my cam seal and timing belt replaced. So I called around and they were within $50 of the lowest quote. Having had my vehicle fixed there a number of times with no problems, I did business with them again. I will continue to come back for the bigger jobs because they do it right the first time!

They told us they had ordered and installed a new computer in our car then when it ran worse then it did when we brought it in they told us the problem was the refurbished computer. Only reason for the 3rd star is they returned the money we had spent. We dont eat in our car yet when we got it back from them we found lettuce from my guess hamburgers in the driver seat. At least they returned our money.

I wish I had discovered them sooner!! Going to them since last 2 years. Its well known that no one walks out of a car servicing just paying for only the service cost; there is always a bucket list to be repaired. These folks give me the laundry list but dont force me into any unless its a real safety issue. Very professional. Their loaner I borrowed was a beat up looking Volvo at 253,000 miles plus running quite well. So, further confident about their Volvo repair prowess.

I brought my car there because Advanced Auto gave me a readout that said I had a bad Volt Reg. It turns out that my car did not start up because I tried to start it after turning it off and leaving it in drive with the emergency brake on. They gave me a diagnostic and told me nothing was wrong and not to worry about the half hour labor. I had already bought an alternator because I was going to try to repair it myself but now Im going to take it back for a $300 refund.

For almost 10 years, we have been repairing our Volvos here. Our Volvos were always diagnosed and fixed correctly. We also used their pre-purchase inspection service. If you are buying a Volvo, please please get it inspected by Voltech first, not after you buy. Volvos can run a very long time, but only if they are maintained! Happy driving! Best cars and best local service/ repair shop for them!

They charge three times in labor the amount of time that it takes to do the job. They also charge a huge markup on parts - even charging individually for parts that come together. Its about 2 times.Serpentine Belt Tensioner: 96.04Serpentine Belt: 50.83Idler Pulley: 69.84Total: 216.54From an online parts dealer:Serpentine Belt Tensioner (assuming the pulley): 64.00Serpentine Belt: 23.00Idler Pulley: 22.04Total: 109.04So be aware of what you are buying. That said, they got my car fixed quickly, and that was valuable to me. It just cost huge markups and I wont be using them again or recommending them to anyone.

Update: The Vol-Tech family business has been sold and has relocated 3 blocks from the original location. Dave has bought the business and retained most of the staff. I wish the best of luck to Dave Im certain the service will continue to be stellar. From one business owner to another Way to Go Dave! Your my man for the job!I own a rare low mileage IPD modified 2007 S60R and have been doing business with Vol-Tech for 4 years.Recently I was out of state and was stranded with a blown head gasket. When I brought it to a local dealership to have it fix they failed to discover that there was a cracked piston sleeve after reassembly. Throughout incident I was continually on the phone with Dave and his team getting advice and direction in getting a refund from the dealership for the work done. I was able to recover a good portion of the dealership charge with Dave’s help. The Vol-tech team quickly located a used S60R engine in their inventory of salvaged cars to replace my engine. Before I could even get the car back to Texas they had an engine ready to be installed. They completed the replacement in four days. The dealership in the other state had my car for two weeks and never fixed it or apologized for their mistakes. The price they charged was fair. This was a big job and it involves ripping down two engines to a long block state. This is a time consuming process and moving all useable components from the damaged engine to the new-used engine was done. When I received the car back it appeared to have a sensor issue that was quickly diagnosed and replaced. The car now runs better than before the mishap. The shop also issued a warranty on the used engine and their work for six months or 3.000 miles. So ask yourself can a dealership provide this the level of service?

Ive been a long time customer and am very happy with the level of service and skill of Vol-tech. The shop has deep knowledge of Volvos and has always been honest and fair. Their advice about how to best handle a particular issue is always spot on and they are able to provide options that are tailored to my needs. I own several older Volvos ranging from the old RWD 240s to the more recent FWD and AWD models. Vol-tech can cover the entire range even on models whose designers have long retired. One of my cars is a rare performance model which has some custom modifications. This doesnt throw them off at all and they can handle it with no issue. They recently repaired damage related to an animal impact that required the car to be towed and got me rolling again quickly. Too many shops over complicate issues and are too easily scared by complex repairs that Vol-tech has the skills to take in stride. While I do a considerable amount of repair work myself I dont always have the time, tools, or experience to do everything. I would find it very hard to keep these cars on the road without the help and expertise of Vol-tech. I strongly recommend them.

Ive bought several Volvos here. In fact now that I live in Tulsa, my wife flew down to buy our latest Volvo. David Trooper who runs the sales side, and David Schneider who runs the service side are experts in what they do. They dont go overboard on what needs to be done. They are honest and straight forward. The mechanics are very efficient and effective in fixing Volvos. In particular Ive gone through 5 Volvos for my kids. Let me tell you, you wont get more value or a safer car for kids to be driving around in. They are durable and reliable. Voltech will keep the cars going at a reasonable price. Any other European luxury car such as BMW for Mercedes, the repairs will put you in the poorhouse, not so with a Volvo.

I was the proud new owner of a used XC90 which I got for really good deal in Seguin. 2 months later I got broad sided by a Cadillac sedan; insurance called the Volvo totaled. But I could tell the damage was mostly superficial and easily repaired: replace entire bumper, replace two wheels, replace lower control arms and do an alignment. One little wrinkle left on the lower corner of rear door. Voltech found used and new parts and made a great repair for a great price. I cant tell that my XC90 was ever in a wreck. Very pleased.Shorter version: My XC90 ATE a Caddy and Voltech fixed me up like new.

I took my c70 in to these guys with a host of issues. I explained in detail all the issues I could, including there being a coolant leak somewhere. Now Im not a mechanic but Im not ignorant about mechanical issues. I also know how expensive Volvos can be to repair because I sank a couple grand into it on the transmission. So I told them tell me whats wrong with the car and I have 2k to spend, if its more than 2k I will get rid of it. SO they come back with an estimate under 2 grand. I pick the car up and notice white smoke coming out of the tail and tell them ...I thought it was because the car had been sitting around, David said that could possibly be it. THEY LIED... speaking to another mechanic today Ive found out it is only 2 reasons for white smoke, oil leak or coolant leak, and to fix it will require a head gasket. So my question is why didnt they tell me this when I took the car in.. I actually called Vol-tech today and told them three things, I have a volvo, I have a coolant leak and I see white smoke. WITHIN 2 SECONDS DAVID SAID OH YOU HAVE A HEAD GASKET PROBLEM. My theory is they knowingly left out that I would need an additional $2000 worth of repairs to get the $2000 budget i was working with which is SUPER SHADY! They tried to back pedal on the phone when I asked him why didnt he tell me this when I brought the car in.. all you said was there was a coolant leak. Now if I tell you there is a coolant leak, and you dont see coolant on the ground, any mechanic will tell you its leaking into the engine. I understand that they are a business here to make money, but you dont have to be shady.... take your volvo somewhere else.

I read the reviews before going to them and still tried them . One guy who reviewed them complained about parts costing more . Its obvious you arent familiar with cars. All and I do mean all shops mark up prices. You can get cheaper parts online but you wont be able to exchange them the same day if they are wrong . The reason I wrote this review was because they had a parts for my car that no one else had and I have searched every where including online and other salvage yards and the prices were fair. I will be using them again even though Im 6 hours away in Louisiana .
