I had been to the Barrel House before and often drank Two Brothers coffee, but the Roundhouse is such a cool spot! The fish tacos were outstanding and the IPAs that were recommended to me were spectacular. The manager, Mike, was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and my server Tim was so helpful and attentive.Definitely will be back
Love the brews and the atmosphere here. Food has declined in recent years. Service can be hit or miss, however theyre often busy so Im sure its hard to juggle that many people.
We waited 30 minutes and no one came to help. The waiter helping the table across literally looked at us. And even when we tried to get his attention he just walked away. Great for a first time experience but now most likely my only experience there.
Beautiful place! The history surrounding the building is enchanting. The service, the food, and the beer was great (thanks Douglas!) We got a tour around and the banquet hall is big enough for a nice event or wedding. Thanks Lori! I absolutely will come back and will consider this place as a venue. ❤️
The outdoor area here is great. The live band playing hits from all decades was amazing. Just a fun environment with people dancing and enjoying the night. Drinks were so-so, but the food was good. I recommend coming here for a nice evening out.
Beautiful atmosphere atmosphere, but the food is horrible, portions are tiny, and the price is extraordinary for what you get. I don’t think there’s management that runs the restaurant. If you’re going for alcohol and alcohol alone, take out a loan, you’ll need it.
Some of our meals were very good, some were terrible. Same drink ordered twice was completely different second time, were told it was because there were 2 bartenders (??). Slow service but waiter was pleasant and was trying. You could tell the staff was green.
This place is worth the trip! Warm atmosphere dressed up nicely for the holidays with a fireplace cracking in the background. Our server Aaron was knowledgeable about the entire menu as well as the craft beers, he was also very aware of our table on a busy Saturday night! The food was amazing for everyone of us at our table, and the desserts are da bomb. We will definitely be visiting again. The parking was crazy with a wedding going on but the free valet was a great option.
Great food and craft beer and cocktails. The garlic cheese curds are fantastic
A wonderful place with lots of beer choices and great food, I had the wings and sole tacos, both super tasty. As for the beer, love of hops is a winner in my book, so much that I got a growler full to take home. Last but not least the service was super efficient, friendly and nice. An all around good time.
Excellent service from Aubrey. Very prompt and genuinely enthusiastic. One menu questions she was very candid when she didnt know, and promtly returned with an answer. The menu itself was misleading. The ruben for example .marble rye thousand island dressing sauerkraut....good so far yea? Then Beef...not corned beef but beef.. you havent had a roast beef with thousand island sauerkraut on Marble rye.dont its awful. Lasagna not labled vegan...and meat lasagna available...vegan but no whole wheat options.a sunday served without nuts and not even a cherry..sMENU NEEDS ALOT OF WORKThe server was terrific, she even said since she is new she studies with her own flashcards. Thats awesome commitment Aubrey!! Wish my employees did that.
A great place for both first dates & weddings alike
I really enjoyed it here, the bartenders are really nice a quick
We come here a few times a year and are never disappointed. The service and food are always outstanding. If you are a beer connoisseur, youll want to sample the different micro brews. We like to sit outside in the large, treed, scenic courtyard when weather permits, as was the case on this beautiful fall day. The actual building is historic, built out of limestone that was quarried locally in 1856, and is very unique. The pictures are taken from the courtyard.
The place is large, and multiple venues from restaurant, cofee lounge area, music/dance area at night and beer distillery. There is a court years in the middle of the circular structure. This used to be an old transfer station and was repurposed to be a multi-venue place. The food was at the restaurant was very good. But was impressed with the decore and large ceiling. Definitely worth a visit.
This is probably the best beer garden I have been to in the U.S.A. and has become my favorite place in Aurora. Unfortunately the food has always been disappointing, but who needs food when you have great beer. Just revisit this place and although the food was still average, sitting outside, listening to a band while sipping a cold one is unbeatable.
4.5 stars. Huge space including a brewery, cafe, bar, and restaurant. There is also a large outdoor event space where there are oftentimes weddings and concerts. There is typical brewpub type food and small plates, and a great selection of Two Brothers draft and seasonal beer. The seafood pasta was delicious. The cafe has Two Brothers specialty brewed coffee which is very smooth. My kid tried the vanilla milkshake and said it was the best ever! I would like to see an expanded menu and live entertainment more often to draw in a bigger crowd.
Took the train here from Downers Grove to see Planet Groove perform. Ended up accidentally crashing a social groups party on the upper balcony areas. Had a great view of the band that never disappoints us. Ended up missing our train and had to Lyft but it was worth it. We had a Rueben and a burger and both were average at best but the beer was great. Would have rated 5 if food was better. We will definitely be back in the summer when bands play outside.
Good food, but it would be much cooler if they served Blue Hawaiians.
Attended my nieces baby shower there and completely fell in love with the history and beauty of the place!
Super cool event space available (we were there for a wedding), beer was good (took some back to MN), and the restaurant space was just really cool. Good was good too.In addition to the restaurant, the bars, the banquet room, they have a cafe and of course a little store. In the cafe featuring fun espresso drinks (Two Brothers also roasts coffee beans!), they have a small display brewery with a few fermentation vessels.
I was thee for a ‘Wedding Weekend’ & there was An adorable coffee/breakfast food area ...Lots of various brews(with outside or indoor seating) if you wanted to eat lunch instead of breakfast ... A very unique venue with easy access to METRA ~ with our hotel right across the parking lot.... It was very convenient! Neat history and story behind the actual venue... very eclectic! [NEAT RIVERWALK & CASINO NEARBY]
A+ for social distancing!! This was our first time dining indoors since March, and we picked Two Brothers for its spacious dining room. Our server was extremely pleasant and we enjoyed a lovely meal (that I didnt have to cook!). Patrons were seated more than six feet apart, and we felt very comfortable. It was an excellent treat, and a great experience!
Everytime we come, we end up ordering a bunch of small plates to share, and the plates are not so small. We end up over ordering but loving everything. The dishes are bar upscale-ish and very tasty. The coffee is hands down amazing, and the beer is just so good! highly recommend this place
The atmosphere was incredible; they had live music performing under a pavilion. The beers were great, the hard liquor was alright. The food, while delicious, was light on the quantity side. The bread for my cheese steak was delectable, but it felt like it was missing a bit of the actual cheese steak. Also, while Im sure theyd offer more condiments if you asked, they start you off with just two tablespoons of the side condiments -such as ketchup for the fries. Overall, pretty decent place.
This place is beautiful and the food and beers are amazing. It is a very unique and historic building. I ordered the pork belly tacos and a side of rice. The tacos are meant to be a snack. Theyre small street tacos but are amazing. The service here us great too. Ask for Tim. He was very knowledgeable with the beer and be was very kind.
We sat out on the patio. Tables were distanced, servers were wearing their masks, but there was some lovely shade and a slight breeze. There is a gazebo there for live entertainment and I would imagine it gets very loud. This is a family place with ample choices on the menu to satisfy every special diet or picky eater.
Went here for an after party with my roller derby team tonight. It was such a nice atmosphere from the moment we walked in. The outdoor/courtyard(?) area where we were seated was just so beautiful, relaxing and fun. They had a band playing and you could even see a wedding going on in one of the banquet rooms. The food and drinks were delicious!!! Im not usually a beer drinker and only drink it when I can find one that fits right with me. I found 2 that I liked. Each time I had a question or needed help, the staff was right there to help figure it out with me. I even ended up taking a growler home for my husband. Were from NWI and I plan on taking him with me next time I come here. Definitely worth the trip.
I love this place. Beautiful restaurant and food is really good with many choices for varying dietary preferences. I am vegan and it’s nice to have a few vegan choices and is reason I bring people here and like this restaurant.
This is our familys favorite restaurant. A building unlike any other you will eat in. Besides the great food and beverages, it has always been very family friendly. Lots of room to walk around with the little ones while waiting for food.
Meemaw used to always want to go to brothers roundhouse for the hutch. I came in her memory.
Great atmosphere and the outdoor space is simply amazing. During the covid era the tables were far apart outside giving plenty of room between everyone. Food was great and the beer was quite delicious. We came after a long bike ride and we were treated with a half pint.
Aside from the setting/historic building and patio set up, the service was amazing. From the greeting of the hostess, to our server making sure we had a pleasnt experience. We were a bit early, yet waited on as soon as we were seated. Wed love to visit again during evening hours (we had an early lunch on our visit). Had a delicious house pub burger and great tasting house craft brew.👍👍
Service and Food were sub par but Hutch and Fire Alarm were on point.
Awful service! Wont be back.
Very nice venue. Big and spacious. Hospitality and food was delicious. Will be back
Nice atmosphere, but the food was mediocre at best. The food is pricey for the quality, and the menu has some items that dont seem like they should go together like lemon and bacon, or soy sauce and ranch dressing with pico de gallo on a fish taco. It is though they didnt have an idea of what food to put on the menu. It was also a la carte. The bread that comes with the cheese dip should be toasted, it tasted microwaved. It was more like cafeteria food next to a train station than a restaurant with a chef and a plan. If you eat there, I recommend the roundhouse burger and fries. Nothing else.
Very nice place, the food is awesome. I tried the the pasta is excellent. They have live music. Very good beer selection
This is certainly one of the most pleasant place in the neighborhood. Anytime I go there I am absolutely happy. They preserve their high level service and the highest level of food they serve. You no doubt will love this place. Very recommended.
Very big place with different things to do besides restaurant. they habe enterntainment and a coffee spot in there as well
Very nice atmosphere; The outside courtyard is very nice. They have a lot of live music events on the weekends. The wife and I usually go all out on apps but the whole menu is great and they have a good selection of drinks.
Great food and. Service. The atmosphere is great. You can see the history in the building.
That place has such a good feel when your there. Food is perfect every time. Sam make great small batch brews. Lets hope this place makes it through this BS.
Two Brothers is the best! Great food, great drinks. The service is always stellar and the vibe is right up my alley!
Breakfast Cafe is wonderful and the breakfast sandwiches are the best Ive ever had. They make the bread for them, fresh same morning, and its a soft English muffin style, wonderful. The subtle seasonings and light dressing are successful with both ham and egg (and white cheese), and bacon and egg (and yellow cheese). For $5 each. Huge win.
Im a big fan of Two Brothers, although Ive been coming here since it was known as Walter Paytons Roundhouse. Ive spent countless hours dining, going on dates, watching bands, and attending weddings here. It really is the perfect place for all of the above, which makes it stand out against the rest. Ive always been pleased with service here, prices are within reason, the food is outstanding, and the selection of beers and spirits are top-notch. If youre looking for a new place to try, Id highly recommend coming here.
This restaurant is my preferable restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this restaurant. when I want to go to a delicious supper, this place comes straight to my head. very good and all kinds of food and a large list of dishes.great crew, and pleasant ambience. Also important, the pay is reasonable. I sent my friends to this place with no hesitation.
Wrong hours online, they are closed Monday
We like a lot going out. Yesterday we came to this excellent restaurant which we didn’t know before. We spent a lovely evening there with fine food and a courteous crew and a professional chef. We added this place in our phone list and we will no doubt visit again very soon. We highly recommend.
It used to be Walter Paytons Roundhouse. The updated old train roundhouse is an interesting layout, lots of space, two levels. Good food. Live music. Parking lot is too small, cant always find a spot, but for a fee you can park at the train station next door.
Havent been here in a couple years, stopped by for a birthday lunch with my dad. Menu seemed more limited (most likely due to the covid crisis). Food was still great. Amazing service as usual. Prices seem high, but youre paying for the great service and atmosphere. They have many measures in place to help with health safety against covid, almost to the point of overkill, but it made my dad and I appreciate it. Hes over 70 now and he really appreciated it. Ill definitely be back. I hope they have bands playing outside in their court and not inside. If so, Ill be back more often.
