This is a good facility which is managed very poorly. We have been members of the Y for 9 years, have been to a couple, never seen one which is poorly managed as this one to the extent that they allow some members to book both basketball courts and play only in one while preventing others from using the empty court.Never seen anything like this at any other ymca.

The Cowart Family YMCA has been a wonderful community for my nine year old son and I for the past 5 years. From their afterschool program to the virtual learning support provided during the pandemic, they have truly been a blessing to my family.

We love our YMCA! They have wonderful services and programs! We take advantage of everything they have to offer. My family loves them all. The people who work there are so friendly and make us feel welcome. Worth every penny of the membership! Highly recommend the Y!

I had the best of welcomes to Cowart YMCA by Wellness Director, Teresa Emerson. I contacted her and asked if there were a yoga class at the Cowart Y that might be appropriate for a senior like me. She responded warmly and spent time on the phone answering all my questions, explained the different levels of yoga being taught and also told me about other activities at the Cowart Y and said she would leave a visitor’s pass at reception. But she later contacted me to let me know that she had arranged to make it a 3-day pass, to give me the opportunity to check out some of the many other facilities and classes at the Y in case one of them might interest me. I’ve been in sales and marketing most of my life and I was overwhelmed by Teresas warmth, genuine interest and hospitality. At this time in my life I am quick complain about poor service but also love to call attention to exceptional customer service such as that I received from Teresa Emerson. Of course I joined and found the same warmth and hospitality from the instructors and everyone else Ive encountered at the Cowart YMCA.

I love taking the group pool classes. I also volunteer with the food packing program.

Signed up for 1 month and a black lady in mid 20s offered me to book a lane in the pool on Monday (I signed up on Saturday). She confirmed my booking and I thanked her. When I showed up on Monday the person who is in charge for the pool told me Im not on the list and no one can sign me up in advance. Only 24 hours in advance and I should receive an email. I got no emails and that lady signed me up more than 24 hours in advance which means she lied about it. I was extremely disappointed and had to drive home and cancel other plans. I decided to cancel my membership couple days later. I went there in person and told a front desk person Id like to cancel. She gave me a business card of the person in charge for refunds which is Amber. I emailed Amber and received automated or pre-made message about processing my refund. Couple days later I received another email about my refund saying its being worked. Couple days later I checked my bank account I didnt find any refunds. This month I found it they charged me again. I wish this place had more honest people but Id not recommend anyone to go there. Lying in the first place made me dislike it. On top of being a complete waste of time on my first visit now I had to spend more time disputing 2 transactions and also changing my credit card number so they wont charge me again! Please avoid this place like the plague.

Wonderful facilities, great professional caring staff, this Y makes you understand and appreciate the family in the Cowart Family YMCA. This Y never ceases to stop creating different programs that appeal to everyone whether it be families with children to seniors to young adults. What would we do without the Y!

I love the clean facilities and the family friendly atmosphere. Plenty of workout equipment. I never have to wait in line for a machine. I don’t use these yet, but it seems like there are tons of cool activities for kids too!

This is a great facility where everyone is welcome. Members cover all age groups and fitness levels. I enjoy the group classes. There is truly something for everyone.

The Y is such a blessing to our family ! The child care center is wonderful. It is very open with lots of natural light. The Y offers so many great programs for families from swim lessons to parents night out. It has been instrumental in helping our family stay healthy and fit!

This is my local Y, and I love it. Plenty of equipment, lots of good classes, and a great nursery/childcare are some of the reasons. My 4 stars is due to the amount of chlorine in the pool. It seems excessive, and I limit my time there to 30 minutes. Wonderful front desk staff as well.

I love this YMCA because it is family oriented. This is the only workout facility that I felt comfortable leaving my toddler daughter while I worked out. In regards to fitness, this Y has everything you want - indoor pool & track, aerobic classes, workout equipment and wifi. The only negative I have is that I wished they had as many aerobic classes on the weekend as they do during the week. Other than that, great place and I highly recommend it 😄!

Great place. The remodel is really nice. Service is great. Everything you need or want. Only very small complaint is I wi the pool were bigger - There are at least 6 or seven lanes but sometimes there is a need to double up. A small thing based on the remainder of the equipment, the gym, classes and most particularly the helpful staff.

I cancelled my membership in March of 2018 and my credit card was still being charged at the end of April. I wasn’t to happy. The YMCA has a policy that you have to give 30 days notice when cancelling your membership which I find very unfair. However after expressing my concerns to the membership manager Jared, he was able to fully refund my credit card for the incorrect charges. Everything else about my experience at the Cowart YMCA was great. Tons of classes to take, very clean facilities, never to crowded, and friendly staff. I would highly recommend the Cowart YMCA but I do hope they change there cancellation policies in the future. Jared was a great help is it the reason why I will consider restarting my membership in the future!

Love my local YMCA. The people at the front desk are great. I do wish there was a better system for check in other than handing over your card and asking for it back before you leave but thats likely YMCA wide, not specific to this location. The coach approach staff are great and very thorough, encouraging, and knowledgeable. Parking is abundant. Greenway access is adjacent. There are adult bikes for rent at the entrance of the YMCA if you want to ride a bike on the Greenway but dont have your own or dont have a way to get it there. There is a beautiful outdoor pool (as well as indoor). The only thing its missing is a racquetball court. The facility isnt new but is kept clean and orderly. The locker rooms are well kept and sanitary.There is an apartment complex nearby and children have been seen drawing with fingers on other peoples vehicles so consider parking away from the apartment entrance gate if you dont want people touching your cars paint.

Much cleaner than LA fitness. The gym was rebuilt last year. Very bright and open. Tons of equipment. I took a star off for no sauna and the pool is chlorine.

An incredible building (apparently it has been renovated recently), nice locker rooms, full size basketball court and a large pool. Lots of classes.Not a lot of weight lifting equipment or machines compared to LA fitness.

I absolutely love Cowart YMCA! From the welcoming greeting the membership team always provides, to the friendly and hardworking janitorial staff.Micki, the Executive Director is incredible! With everything that she does to ensure that the YMCA is sustained and stays true to their core values, she still finds time to engage with her members. You may even see her standing besides you in a class.My child has participated in a gamut of sports. Patrick has been great at making sure that his sports programs are properly coordinated, well staffed, and an overall fun experience for the kids (and parents 😉).My childs favorite sport however is swimming. Kendra and Heather are fantasically amazing. Their knowledge and experience make them great, but their hearts make them phenomenal. Thank you ladies, and Coach Will! My childs participation on the swim team has instilled such confidence (swagger included!), perserverance, and an unwavering dedication to the team. GO DORSALS!!My childs second favorite sport is karate. Master Joey is truly training confident and respectful super ninjas. Master Joey is a dedicated, patient, and overall terrific instructor.The instructors and classes at Cowart YMCA are superb, and very diverse. Shout outs to Aaron, Betty, and Danny!!Lastly, I cant forget Jared and his wonderful membership staff. Jared and his staff are personable, friendly, consistent, and a true representation of what outstanding customer service should look and feel like.

I have been a part of this community at YMCA for almost 10 years. I really like the renovations, especially the new larger room that we use for our Zumba class and the new equipment with more technology added. They did a great job!

Cowart ymca Has been a godsend to me! It has changed my world to completely! I am severely disabled but that doesn’t matter at the YMCA, my disability is invisible. I have A hard time walking around the pool, when I stepped foot from my walker to the door to the pool a lifeguard or Sandy or Christina come and help me into the water. In the water is the only time I feel normal. I get to swim like a fish. Then I go to Boot Camp water aerobics . It makes me so proud that I am doing the harder water aerobics. Christina and Sandy adapt the class for me so I am able to achieve everything everybody else can achieve. I feel like I am a member of the family. The classmates are so kind to me as are the instructors and the lifeguards. When I am finished with water aerobics Sandy or Christina walk me the pool to my walker and all the doors to the shower room And make sure I am safe before they go back to what they have to do. I feel so safe in the pool area. Erin, The lifeguard, helps me Get to the handicap bathroom to wash out the chlorine in my eyes and sits me on the bench until the Boot Camp aerobics starts. Rafael the lifeguard before Erin helped me immensely also. I recently got in a car crash and lost the ability to drive and Christina and Lisa have been working diligently to find a way for me to get to and from the Y and to my appointment at Emory without having to pay Uber. They let me know how important Y is to me! Every morning Erin The receptionist opens the handicap doors for me without me saying anything and greets me with a smile and a kind word. She make sure I am safe when I am waiting for my Uber car. The members of my aerobics class sometimes take me home from the Y so I don’t have to pay Uber and one member who remains anonymous gives me a check every month for two Uber rides. The YMCA is such a giving and loving and nurturing community and it is the thing that I look forward to the most during my week. I smile all the time when I am there and I smile on my way home. It’s nice to know I have a family when my family lives so far away.

I prefer not giving even this star. The boss here doesnt provide me a refund for the swimming class I didnt take up. I have cancelled the class and one of this on staff employee made a mistake of send the refund back to card she selected check which I didnt receive till date. I kept writing emails no use they keep giving me same reply will look into it. I will publish names of the employee and the boss incase this is not resolved now. I have cancelled on May1st still waiting for my refund .

A normal full service health club, complete with all the cardio machines, free weights, resistance machines, cable machines, indoor pool, etc. that most people need. Recently, they just added 2 Pelaton bikes. They also have a ton of classes, including one called Y-Fit which is very similar to Orange Theory.All this, and theyre a non-profit. So unlike most gyms, theyre not out to soak your bank account, and they help the community. Their pricing is also great, compared to Lifetime Fitness, LA Fitness, etc.

The remodel looks like the one in my hometown. The cardio area and weights are not functional. The lights creates a glare on my fav machines. The studio floors are in bad shape already. They forgot to redo the pool area so the windows have frost on them. The traffic to get here is nuts. The staff is not friendly but will do for the occasional visit. Definitely wont make this gym my day.

Ive been a member for over 4 years. Theyve just finished renovations and its beautiful, open, airy, lots of windows around the cardio, weights area, big new group fitness rooms and a fantastic, very exciting nursery and play room for babies to older kids that is about to open. Zumba and lots of other classes are great. New family locker rooms make it so much easier to take little ones swimming. We will be members for as long as we live here.

The summer camp is very bad. I’ve been here for two weeks and somebody already tried breaking my finger. There is a lot of bullying and counselorswho don’t care. You should go here for the gym but whatever you do don’t sign your kid up for the summer camp.

Not at all a family friendly environment. Come from YMCA in Michigan where its enjoyable for all ages, this place was so focused on the adults. Water cold, no life jacket, if i knew they didnt have any i would have brought my own. The pool starts at 36, definitely not for kids under 7 yr old. The workout area was stuffy and small. A 14 yr old boy had a hard time getting in without his parent. Isnt it better to get kids off the streets and work out and swim...it appears not at this location. I guess its better for kids to play games all day.

Im disappointed that the treadmills that were added after the renovation are very wobbly to the point of not my being able to use them.Ive run on treadmills for 20 years, and never had this problem, even in hotels.May have to move on after years of loyalty even through the renovations.

Being a member since 1987 I have few complaints. Mens locker room is freezing and there are not enough long benches. We need at least 3 more. I have been complaining for years but nothing has been done so far. I dont think managements care or have authority to fix any problems.There are also no hooks for towels to hang at the sink area in mens locker room. I already wrote complaints and talked to some members of the staff but nothing has been taken care of.

This YMCA makes it very difficult to leave. You must go in person to cancel and then they require 30 days to cancel, aka youll be paying another month. In addition, they refuse to remove your credit card info from their online portal/records even after youre no longer a member.

Great place for family...

After major renovation there is not enough equipment and machines to get a decent workout. Instead of adding more machines and weights they replaced everything which quite frankly seems like a total waste of resources when they did not have enough equipment to begin with. I am most likely going to drop my membership.
