So the office is located just INSIDE the mall; across from McAlisters Deli. Look for the McAlisters sign for the entrance. They close at 6pm and do not offer after hours drop-off so be aware how that will affect your rental return.The lady that helped me was nice and the rental process straightforward. Would have been 5 stars but theres no direction on how to find the place. a sign outside the mall entrance would have been nice.

I picked up my 16ft truck, took it back to the house, filled it with the furniture. I went to leave for CLT the next morning, and the windshield wipers don’t work. I had to turn the key a certain way so they would work but, they wouldn’t turn off. I was about an 1.5hr from Asheville, made it to Shelby. I’m sitting at a red light, and the truck turns off and won’t start back up. Not only did it do this once, but twice. I went to drop off my truck this morning, and I was thirty minutes late because the truck wouldn’t start. I pulled into the budget gas station to drop it off. The lady inside kindly asked me to move it behind the gas station, I went to move it, and it wouldn’t shift out of gear. Overall, the front desk lady was super sweet, super nice, I had no problems with her. She was very embarrassed about these problems and gave me %25 off my rental. I’m calling the 1800 number to get a full refund.

First off, the customer service counter is inside the Asheville Mall. Thanks Budget for letting us know on your website (they actually dont). Secondly, not only was the woman working the counter rude to me but was also rude to the person in front of me. She would never get through the interview process if applying for a job at my business. She has NO business working customer service!

My husband and I arrived early and stood in line with our infant son for over 30 minutes just to be told that all moving trucks were out of service and they had nothing for us. Attendant was rude, impersonal, and didnt give us paperwork or anything. She just shrugged at us and claimed she tried to call while I had no messages or missed call notifications on my phone. When I asked for the option of going to another local Budget location, she acted like I was the problem instead of her nasty attitude. Now I have a $75.00 no show fee on my account.Im calling the BBB tomorrow.Thanks to the guy below me for reminding me of this option.I am beyond angry.Clearly this is a recurring issue.Save yourself the headache and go half a mile down the road to the Swannanoa U-Haul.Theyre inexpensive and have much higher quality service.

Not only did they tell me the day of my move that they dont have my truck. They charged me for a no show and absolutely no one is picking up the phone. Disputing this bogus charge and taking them to the BBB.Had to completely scramble to find a vehicle to move my furniture. Horrible customer service front lady told me we tried to call you but you didnt pick up so thats on you.Unbelievable.

I booked a truck here before I saw these reviews. After I saw them, I became quite concerned. But I didn’t have any problem whatsoever. They had the truck ready when I arrived and checked me back in quickly. The customer service reps were friendly and helpful. I don’t know why the other reviewers had such horrible experiences but mine was great.

Excellent in all respects. I don’t know what the other review fuss is all about. Easy online reservation. $400 cheaper than uHaul or Penske. We didn’t take the expensive insurance and added a $10 rider to our auto coverage instead. I called a day ahead to confirm. Clerk was courteous and professional. She offered me a larger truck at no extra charge. I said no as we were driving cross country and didn’t want a big rig. No problem, she said. The 12 foot van is yours! Simple and fast pick up.

The worst.Id give them -5 stars.The perfect example of horrible, rude and disrespectful customer service.But it appears that the owner doesnt care anyway.Every rating has been more than negative and his response to everyone has been the same.Even other members of the staff talked poorly about this employee.But any owner who not only hires someone like that, but keeps them on after numerous customer complaints, does not deserve the business of anyone.I not only would never recommend this place to anyone, but plan to make sure they are all warned about this hole.The fact that the office is in an abandoned nail salon in a mall and is furnished with a card table and two folding chairs should have raised a red flag right off the bat.The amount of lost money, time and patience of his customers apparently mean nothing to the owner of this Budget location. I am hoping that social media will be the cause of closure of this business. Every customer has been disappointed. Some customers being brought to tears. No one should have to suffer the likes of this woman.Just to be clear, this is the Budget located at 1 S Tunnel Rd Asheville NC.Blondish, short, bespectacled white woman working on 7-28-18.Easily recognized by her horns.

This place and Budget in general is horrible. Started my morning off here at 11am. The lady at the front desk had her dog at work. She said the dog was friendly, went to pet the dog and it bit me. She refused to put the dog away who was growling at me. She didnt ask if I was okay or if I needed medical attention. The customer who was infront of me was the only one who showed concern. She treated the customer infront of me like he was unintelligent. She was rude, had a bad attitude towards me, lied about me not making a reservation online, tried to over charge me. She started to tell at me when I started to ask questions about my rental, she told me that I was rude, she came out from behind the counter and started to yell at me. I had to go outside collect myself and call customer service which they directed my reservation to another Budget which they were nice and everything was fine until I left Asheville and went into Hendersonville where the truck broke town. We waited 5 hrs on a tow truck and 5 hrs on the phone getting the corporate run around until we got ahold of a higher up and it still took another 1 hour to get a refund. Over all my experience has been very very poor. So my day with budget started at 11am and its 5:40 and Im still waiting on tow truck.

Dont reserve a truck online because it will allow you to book a specific size but the availability may not be there. I needed a 17 ft truck, and booked one online. The day prior to picking it up they call me and let me know that I will be getting a bigger truck? Like I have no choice? Now I only had a few hours to call Uhaul to get a similar size truck. 2) Their customer service is terrible at this location. No social skills. I blame budget truck from the top down.

DO NOT USE BUDGET! I rented a truck for a more than 600 mile move that was time sensitive since I was closing on my condo at a specific time and was starting my new job. I agreed to pick up the truck New Years Eve at 3:30pm at the Asheville Mall location. I showed up at 3pm to find a note on the door saying they closed at 2pm. No one called me previously to advise me of this. I would have had no problem picking the truck up earlier. When I contacted customer service, they advised that an inventory manager would call me right back... they never did. The ONLY positive is that they allowed me to cancel free of charge. I then drove down the road and rented a truck from U-Haul immediately (luckily). I had zero issues with my U-Haul experience.

The owners of this location, especially the male owner, are extremely rude and have no issue lying in their contractual dealings. They lied about how much DEF was in the tank. The level of disrespect there was so high that I did not want to push the issue of the necessary vehicle inspection. My partners gentle and trusting ways did not serve us in the face of their deceit.The lack of DEF lead to the vehicle breaking down full of all our personal and professional belongings less than a 100 miles into the trip. We had to get a hotel room, pay a moving company for the crossload, and rent a truck from Uhaul. We were told by the owners of this franchise that they would push for a no charge move. We were told by roadside assistance that our hotel would be covered and that they would get us another truck and a crossload team if they could not repair the truck. Instead what we got was an unauthorized deduction out of our business account for over $400.00 with their broken down truck in a hotel parking lot while staying in a hotel that we paid for. We have been in a dispute process for months even though one of the owners, Angela, said that she would consider the unauthorized withdraw of the funds to be theft. Someone from Budget stole money out of our account while their truck sat uselessly broken down due to their fabricated statement about DEF levels. The photographic evidence is now in the hands of the Executive Office of our bank.

We reserved a truck 4 days ago and when we got there the rude, attitude filled lady rolled her eyes and said she had none available and it wasn’t her problem. Worst customer service and experience.

When I arrived to pick up a reserved truck there were five of the size I wanted in the lot. Went through all of the paperwork only to find out that all 5 trucks were in need of repairs. You can decide for yourself if you want to risk renting from a place with such poor maintenance as to have 5 of 5 unusable trucks. Something is wrong when maintenance gets this bad that none could be rented.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I made a reservation to get a 12-foot truck a couple weeks ahead of time. As Im driving to pick the truck up, they call and tell me there are no trucks available. They said no one returned any trucks overnight.They then told me to call a number and speak to an inventory manager to try and find a truck nearby. I called and they told me the closest one was in Spartanburg, S.C., more than an hour away! Whats the point of making a reservation if theres no guarantee youll have a truck? Avoid this company at all costs. I should have went with U-haul from beginning.

Thank you for ruining the holidays! Not only was I screamed at when picking up my truck due to not being contacted to be told there are no 16 foot trucks and that we had to drive a 24 foot cross country. But we were given a truck with no def fluid and are broken down in Tennessee and will be missing Christmas with our families. In the vehicle damage inspection they did not even fill out the def gauge. We almost got in a major accident with a semi when our engine shut off on the highway. Completely unacceptable. Will be contacting the BBB and anyone else I need to to report this negligence.

Horrible. I have used Budget for years. I made a reservation and srive 3 and a half hours there to pick up my truck at 330 pm. I missed a phone call at 3:21 pm (it was this location) and upon arrival found out they called to inform me that they didnt have a truck for me. I asked to speak with person in charge. Both women blew me off. This infuriated me. What happened to customer service and I dont mean a help line in some other country....or an email address. These lazy women should have offered to help and work with me to figure out a resolution. I drove 3 and a half hours with a one year old, a wife, and 3 dogs to move some items. These ladies should be terminated from their positions at the minimum and have to pay for the UHAUL truck that was there when I reserved it. Unfortunately this place is so horribly run that it has ruined me ever using or recommending Budget to anyone again. I also found it ridiculous that these 2 ladies were so incompetent that they couldnt tell me the name of their boss. When asked who signed their pay checks the response was Avis-budget.....Is the CEO or CFO named Avis Budget? Everything would have been fine if they showed a little bit of compassion. Maybe they were intoxicated....at least I got the satisfaction of blowing off some steam on these two scum bags. Best rhing for Budget to do is cut out the cancer of this place because if they dont it is going to spread.Sincerely,No longer a Budget Customer

Same story as all the rest. Received a call less than 24 hrs from the pickup time to inform me that no truck was available. I was then told to call a customer service line who told me they would let me know something in another 24hrs. Called U-Haul, and they immediately confirmed my reservation and gave me a 50 dollar credit for my panic and troubles.

Horrible service. Incredibly rude people and when asked about a number for a supervisor or corporate office, the unpleasant worker responded, “No, we don’t have one.” Don’t use if possible.
