Boring, non-luxurious apartments for way too much money. Leasing consultants don’t do their job, then charge you $ for their mistakes. They literally never answer the phones, and don’t call you back when you’re forced to leave a voicemail! Must be nice to be so important that you can’t be bothered to do your job. 😂
You wont find a better apartment community! I lived at The District through the transition to new ownership and can honestly say, my experience didnt change. I have never felt more welcome and appreciated as a tenant in any place Ive lived! The staff made my experience spectacular. The maintenance staff are great at what they do, and respond to calls very quickly. The office staff were extremely friendly. The District takes great care of keeping the property looking its best. The car-care station is a huge plus. The list really does go on. Huge thanks to Lauren and Joanna for all that they do for the community. Check this place out.
Great location, new construction, and excellent common facilities. Management and maintenance responds to needs quickly. Have really enjoyed living here
Weve been a resident for over two years now and can truthfully say this has been the best experience. The staff and maintenance crew are exceptional! There have been very few issues which comes from a new complex but they were taken care promptly and professionally. The only reason we would be leaving will be to move into our new home under construction. Otherwise we would consider living here long term. Our highest recommendation!
Over price for third market appliances also tiny place. Theres better choices out there. But if you have money to burn 🔥 well go ahead, 1 bedroom $1,300 not even 800 square feet? Really!!!!?
I lived here for one year. In the first few months everything was wonderful! Quick, responsive, caring...all that you could ask for in a property management staff. Shortly after the pandemic hit, it went down hill. Questionable tenants started moving in, car theft sky rocketed, doors were left broken, the office management seemed to disappear as well as the concern for anyone’s well being. It was very disappointing. I met some really wonderful people, I am grateful, but I wold never recommend residing here. I found a more affordable and safer apartment complex just at the bottom of the hill. The only perk of the entire experience was the maintenance staff. All the guys are incredible and genuinely lovely human beings.
Called and set up an appointment to tour the property, was told to come in at noon. We arrived at a closed office and waited outside for 5-10 mins without seeing anyone. Eventually, a resident came and joined us and waited as well. We waited about 15 more minutes before the resident decided to knock on the glass as she though she saw someone. Turns out that there was someone in the office the whole time. The assistant manager came out and talked to the resident first regarding an issue that she was having. She was very dismissive and rude to the resident (I dont know the relationship so I will not judge on that), but then after she turned to us like we were interrupting her day, and just said can I help you rudely. We mentioned that we had an appointment for nearly 30 minutes ago and had been waiting. She did not apologize or anything, just told us we should have tried to open the sliding glass doors as they are left open? Not sure how I should have known this as the sign on the door clearly stated that they were closed. Unbelievably bad start to a tour, but to add on that nothing was really talked about, she showed us a model unit, then walked us back to office. Did not see any amenities or community benefits. Ended up seeing another complex directly behind The District, went there, had an amazing tour, very friendly, better prices and brand new. Will be renting from them instead since they valued a prospective resident’s time and energy without even having an appointment.
Apartment feedback and suggestions-suggest a review of apartment “rules” so not exclusive. Example - quiet hours are exclusive of those who work different shifts. Many people work from home now. My suggestion is to get rid of quiet hours (to be inclusive of all), and soundproof the walls of the apartments. Everyone has a different productivity schedule.-enjoyed the monthly events! Even if I was participating remotely! I love learning new hobbies, so the wreath-making was great!-suggest free wifi for all. Or include it in the rent, already setup. It’s no longer a luxury but a requirement for those working from home, job searching, or have kids learning remotely.-layout and size of apartment was perfect for my needs. Pool and pool furniture was wonderful! I didn’t use the exercise equipment but appreciate having the option.-fenced in pet area was almost always in use. Suggest multiple runs. Even at old age, my doxie gets restless and needs to run around lol.-employees are friendly, kind, and accommodating. This has been the best apartment experience I’ve had by far!-suggest some sort of fund/aid/help/etc for those who have lost their job. Even if it’s funded by donations. Rent is the largest expense, and those who lose their jobs are already struggling so much.-suggest locking screen door for the 1st floor apartments, so we can keep the door open during nice weather season!-suggest apartment community online forum to be inclusive of those without social media. I would love to chat with my neighbors to feel a sense of belonging! But not like the “Nextdoor” app where everyone complains. Something positive, fun, to learn, lift each other up, and provide opportunity to market/sell. Maybe even setup potential dates?-overall, pleased with the district apartments! Thank you!
Management and Maintenance are great! The location and amenities are a huge plus as well. They do events from time to time for residents like food trucks and games.
I relocated here in January 2020..The District Apartments was a great choice and the best! The staff is always friendly and able to help, the great guys in maintainance are prompt, completing tasks and routine checks..The Valet service gentleman for receptacles is dependable. Lastly the landscaping team is often seen here beautifying our complex! District is afforable, with many amenities.. including the New dog park, where new friendships have begun!
The creative monthly events organized by our Apartment Life Coordinator extraordinaire, Joanna, increases the quality of life and sense of community exponentially. The location, community, amenities, and cleanliness are top notch.
We have been at The District for three months and have really enjoyed this place. It is quiet, the neighbors are friendly, it is dog-friendly, clean as a whistle and has great views and is convenient for leasurely walks into the Oakley neighborhood or Biltmore Village. This place is hands down 5 stars!
Very unprofessional. I had a package stolen from my doorstep and the staff are completely unwilling to help me. Instead of returning phone calls, they sent me text messages. They also refused to send residents near me either an email or phone call to ask if they has seen anything. For how much they charge for rent, you’d think they would be happy to assist when a customer is in need. Yes, the complex cannot be held responsible for theft, but they absolutely should be responsible for aiding the residents when crime has been committed on their premises.
Great living at The District. First class apartments, club house, amenities and a super attentive staff. Good neighbors and excellent location.
The District is the best apartment community in Asheville. Josh, Lauren, Joanna, and everyone in the team have gone above and beyond to makes us feel welcome in our new home. They helped us during a recent emergency showing us what Southern hospitality is all about. We love the area which is within walking distance to Biltmore Village and close to all the shops we like, including Target and Whole Foods. The apartmens are new and in excellent condition. We fell in love with the large balconies and the view of the mountains. Thank you, everyone, for making the process of finding our new home and moving in so smooth and pleasant. We love Asheville and theres no better place to enjoy this wonderful city than at The District! 😄💗
The office was awesome the entire time of our stay, even helpful when moving at while having to break our lease. The amenities are great and my favorite thing was the walls werent as thin as most apartment complexes so you never really heard your neighbors. Absolutely recommend this place!
Overpriced for what you get, but that comes with such a great location. horrible sound isolation - which is the worst issue here. Dog park was horrible, but now is serviceable finally, adding a star. Great service from staff most of the time. Would reccomend to anyone who wants an upscale Asheville experience and likes to go to all of the city boroughs often. Overall pretty expensive, dont forget
I’ve lived here approximately one week and can without a doubt say I’m very pleased. The amenities are as advertised, the quality of the final finish is up to par, and the staff have been more than accommodating. From signing the lease to move-in day the process was clear and easy to follow. The staff made regular phone calls to keep me in the loop with construction updates and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. They deserve to be thanked and given the recognition they deserve. Keep up the good work!
Ive been living here for 7 months now. Units, staff, and neighbors are nice. All the amenities are up and running as complex promised. Im good with pets so I have no problem. However, the sheer number of pets could be troublesome for others.
The amenities seem to be pretty awesome, however they were just opened. They have plank flooring on every floor level (5 floors). If your neighbor above weighs more than 90 pounds and walks normally, you will hear them. There is absolutely no concrete between floors. My neighbor above me must only walk on his heels. When he wakes up I wake up. Whatever he is doing in his apartment I am aware of what it is because I can hear it. When he scoots his recliner back in the living room it’s so loud, my blood pressure has gone up for the first time in my life from living here. This is not a non smoking apartment complex, so even though there are enclosed hallways if your neighbor smokes it will be trapped and smell outside of your front door. The drainage pipes are in first floor apartments, from all 4 air conditioning units above them. There is constant running water from the pipes and the pipes are literally open in the floor. They are not enclosed. The longer you are in the apartment there is black mold that grows and builds up. I was told by management that this is normal, and basically this is my issue and something that I have to clean and deal with. A maintenance technician came soon after and cleaned it for me, which I really appreciate. I was going to call the health department before he showed up. The drainage pipes are in the same utility closet as the HVAC system so it sucks up mold spores in the air and dispersed around your apartment. I will be excited to see a new management company and new owner take over soon. I appreciate the few things the staff did for me at first, however the cons and the condescending snobby attitude win this review.
New owners mean higher prices! Just got notice that water/sewer rates are being increased substantially! My avg bill has been $15-18 per month and now its going to $51!!!! They are adding a pest control fee as well ($3/mth). Add the $51 for water/sewer, plus the mandatory $25 valet garbage, plus the $3 pest control and thats an additional $79 per month on top of the rent. The location is pretty good, my view is great, but seriously...whats with all the hidden fees?I guess I should be glad they finally got around to cleaning the outdoor stairwells of all the cobwebs and dead bugs.
Moved in this October. It was a little bit of a wait because of construction, but the staff was very accommodating and very kind. It was worth the wait better than all of the other options we looked at in Asheville.
I think the apartment is extremely nice and the residents are very friendly. However, I am disappointed about the community amenities, or lack thereof. I began my lease with the District March 2018 and was told the community amenities would be completed May 2018, which included the pool (perfect for summer), gym, and the business center where I can use the printer for work. I just called the office to check on the status of these amenities and was told maybe October. They offer memberships to Golds Gym and the YMCA but this is hardly the same as laying out in the sun. I also need to print for work and having the business center was a huge bonus in choosing this community. I do not find it convenient to go to the office and ask the leasing agent to print confidential paperwork for me. I find it frustrating and just wish I would have known the longevity of this construction before I committed to this community.
The fire alarm is constantly going off or being “checked” my pets have PTSD from the alarm blaring into their ears at all hours including in the middle of the night. The staff is unapologetic about any inconvenience. We paid for non existent amenities for months. Currently sitting outside in 30 degree weather waiting for the fire alarm to turn off. Again.
The staff is very kind and helpful. However, the walls are thin and there is constant road noise, not to mention that you can hear neighbors coughing, closing cabinets, or god forbid if they have a sub woofer. Most fees for this complex are too high, or just unnecessary($15 fee to pay rent online is absurd.) The location is also not great if you frequently need to get to west, north or downtown Asheville since you have to drive through the nightmare that is Biltmore Village. If youre looking for a place with luxury fixtures and a wannabe high class feel then look no further. But if youre looking for a peaceful place to call home Id recommend looking elsewhere.
Beware! There are 22 LOW INCOME units in this complex. Your rent will be higher since you will be making up the difference for the freeloaders.
Way to expensive to live in
Overpriced and poorly managed.
