Absolutely love this place. Extremely professional and clean. The nail tech did a great job shaping and with the gel polish. Its out of my way, but Ill definitely be coming back here.
Someone cancelled and we were lucky enough to get squeezed in! Our first time.to this location. They did not disappoint. So welcoming. So clean AND OUR NAILS ARE AMAZING! Plus the chairs are ridiculously comfy. Always love coming here. Definitely worth a visit.
I have been going to this Nail Salon for 7 years now - even after I moved into DC proper. The staff is always friendly and the service is great. Im seeing Diane who is superb. She always takes amazing care of my hands and feet, and is helping with nail polish choices when I cant decide. I order spa pedicure a every single time. It is just nice to relax in the massage chairs with a nice leg massage. Its also great that they offer drinks (water, teas, soda, wine) to enjoy your every minute there. I can only recommend.
Terrible service. Doesn’t seem to be anyone actually in charge so each person makes up charges to nickel and dime you for every single thing. More interested in talking to each other than in actually servicing clients. Plenty of places in the neighborhood to go to instead.
Absolutely the best nail salon in town. They offer the best service and very welcome environment. When I show them what I want they do everything they can to do exactly what I want.
They were very clean and each customer gets their own file so they do not reuse between customers. Knew their returning guests by name. Was nice to see alot of them coming in when I was there.
They have a vast assortment of pedicure options. They are super friendly, do great nails, and appreciate your business. People will only listen to what they’re told instead the actual truth.
I had to start going someplace different due relocation. AJ is a gem. She did gel fill and pedicure. She was so nice and meticulous. Im glad I found her.
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent pedicures. Great nail polish options. Very good safety.
AWFUL!Overall my experience was overpriced and disappointing. The staff do not pay individualized attention to clients and act as if they’re bothered by us coming in! I pre-priced my experience based on their brochure, as was charged an extra $100 and the receipt didn’t detail what I was being charged for and the receptionist couldn’t provide an explanation nor correct the charge!!
I use to like this place but the last two times it’s been really bad. They did a bad job in my manicure acrylic nails. She rushed and when I told her I wanted a new set she ignored me. Today I went back and the woman caught an attitude when I told her my nails were to long to cut them shorter. She was rough, rude, and took forever. The worst part is that they charge me so much money for something that should’ve been $100 they charge me 155 apparently now they charge to take your gel off ridiculous. Overly priced no justification. Don’t go here.
Rude staff! Not good quality of manicure but trying to make you believe that they did a good job!
I will literally never go anywhere else again. This place is so cool and modern and trendy. I found it on a whim and thank goodness I did! I get dip powder done and I went to a different nail salon 6 days ago and it was so bad that the polish fell off (that’s like not a thing for dip powder). I went in today and had Julie and she was the bomb! I also really like how you can schedule both online and calling in. The online option makes it that much more convenient. Everyone should give this place a try!
I got my deep powder nails done with Nini and she did a great job! I just moved to Pentagon Row and was trying to find a new salon. Will definitely come back.
Horrible service. My nails weren’t properly painted, I can still see the darker color of my previous polish. Also, my manicure wasn’t so careful I left with a cut. Not going back or recommending to anyone!
Sparkling clean! Wonderful staff and my nails have never looked better- highly recommend!
I love my gel manicure! I will visit again!
I will only go for pedicures...i am too picky for a acrylic set..go see Lily
One of the best nail salons Ive been to that really spends the time doing a thorough cleaning for pedicures. The owner is very kind and attentive, and ensures that youre happy with your service(s). They have a rewards program, and plenty of nail technicians, so you dont have to wait long for service. Plus theyre open late (9p), so you dont have to leave work early to get your nails done. They offer a variety of services, but I only do pedicures. Give them a try and make sure to tip them well. :)
I will never in life get my nails done at this salon again. I had to go to another nail place and get all my nails soaked off the same day I left this nail salon. My nails look so horrible. They over charged me for horrible work. I got rip off. Never again.
I’m disappointed! My mother who doesn’t speak good English went here to get a re-fill and they took advantage of her by doing a new full set and claimed that she said full set. Not going there again.
I got my nails done by Mai and i love them!! I got a full acrylic set with gel polish and she was very attentive to detail. From trimming cuticles, applying acrylic, shaping the nail and making sure the under nails were cleaned. i was impressed. most nail salons skip the little details that matter. i will be back for sure
I read some mediocre reviews online but decided to give this nail bar a shot - and I am SO GLAD I did! I went to a sweet woman named Mimi who did my powder nails with absolute detail and perfection. Not a single complaint, will absolutely be returning :)
My nail tech was very helpful and paid a lot of attention to detail. Not super luxurious, but also not as expensive as other places around.
Very nice staff. I took my daughter to get her nails done for prom. Our pedicure was great. Unfortunately, our full set was not. Our nails look very lumpy. My nail shape is messed up. So much so, that they didnt charge me for the coffin shape I requested. I definitely will not go back for finger nail service, but would for a quick pedicure. Although their standard pedicure is quite expensive. So actually, I wouldnt come back.
Very nice place but my service was very very rushed my toe nail was not filled when the paint was ruined I left like that because the lady did not care to fix it. A waste of money.
Not a horrible result but expect zero comfort. From the cold staff to the couch-style pedicure seating the chances are that you will be sitting on a stain or a rip in the furniture. Your reward points are either on a card (Because you paid cash) or online (Because you paid with a credit card) but neither can be combined with the other. Short and quick, you will be out of their in no time. Dont blink or you will miss the massage
Today is my first time here & the staff is very nice. 😁I go to Sophia she is the best & I am always happy with the way she does my nails. 🙃😀
Wish this place was a little better for the price. Some of the technicians do a great job, others are just in a hurry to get you to leave.Today, I had to request my complimentary drink after my appointment and was not told of an additional charge for a matte top coat. The manager was accommodating and removed the additional fee, but the technician was not friendly and did a mediocre job at best on a simple gel manicure. Didnt even buff my nails prior to painting them. Im glad theres other good salons in the area.
The quality of work does not exist here. Way overpriced consider the result you get. I have nail color all over my toes and when I tried to talk to the front desk girl and she just walked away like I’m non existence. Finally the person who did my nail came back and gave me a touch up after I stood around for ten minutes. In the whole process no one even ask what do I want to drink while other guests get service of complimentary drinks. I want to give one star but I give three for the lady who did my touch up.
They are not very interested in you as a client. And they always talk to their coworkers in a different language.Except from that the gel nail polish looked great. Unfortunately after about a couple days it started chipping and falling off.
This place seems like it would be upscale service, but really its just overpriced for the quality of the work. The workers are nice, but they dont do a good job.I came in for a pedicure and eyebrow threading. And got the Same bare minimum when it comes to the service.I thought that for $35 for the basic pedicure, it would be really good and the products would be nicer. The pedicure itself was basic and the products were standard. They hardly filed my toe nails down and the nails were slanted when they finished. There wasnt even a that awkward massage chair most pedicure places have to make up for it.The eyebrow threading was not actually threading. She used the thread for 10% of the time, and spent the rest of the time plucking with a tweeter, which she dug into my skin hard. It was $17 for tweezing. If youd like good threading done well and done quickly, just go to DuPont threading. All in all-- a bunch of extra money for lower quality service.
I was thoroughly unsatisfied with the manicure I got here. When I chose a regular color instead of a gel, I was told to change it repeatedly even after I told them I didnt want a gel. I asked for my nails to be done in an oval, my stylist did them in a square and was visibly annoyed when I asked her to refile them. It was painful when she trimmed my cuticles, and I can see places on my thumb where she cut through the skin. She squeezed my hands when holding them still to paint, even after I expressed my discomfort. I wanted a simple, no frills manicure, and was astounded at how difficult that request seemed for them. I will not be returning.
Great hours and great gel mani/pedis. I definitely recommend making an appointment and you’ll have no issue.
I really like it here. A lot. Ive been going here for over a year and have only gone to 2 people. My #1 is Henry. I love everything about him. He knows what colors looks best on me and always takes good care of me. Fun to talk to too.He is also fantastic at doing eyebrows :)I only go to him. I also really like Steven too! Ive gone to him a few times in the past. Hes part time, which is why I only go to Henry now.Prices are a little higher, but i really love it here and think its worth it.
This is the worst nail salon I have ever been to. If I could give this establishment zero stars, I would because even giving them one star is too generous. The employees rush through the nail services and do not take their time with you. They do not listen to your instructions and instead, do what they would like to do with your nails. In addition, they were rude and disrespectful when you try to politely inform them of how you would like your nails to look. Do not spend your money at this business! There are others in the area that will do a great job and treat you like a human being.
It good service, the girls are very gentle.its a relaxing atmosphere.
Clean, really nice staff, professional and wine!
Love the service....thanks Ivy!
My regular nail tech is amazing, but sadly, I wont be coming back. I have been coming here regularly for 2+ years, and have watched it become more and more unsanitary. They only clean their bowls out with dawn, if they clean them at all. The last time I was here a large section of clipped toenail was still in the pedicure tub.
I had cute friendly nail tech but work was really disappointed me. Im writing this review for stuff and nail techs to improve ur service . Pls train ur girls, needs to polish full nail, i didnt pay for polish half nails! have to know how to apply base and top coat! Just dropping big drops of top coat each nail, how polish gonna last its all started chip! Plus dont know how to do gel polish, cover full nail and close edges, people r paying full $ and do proper service take time ..everything u guys did were too messy and pls pls pls its just not nice to do this kind of service for anyone, Have to take nail tech classes and need to understand what u guys doing! Never coming back...
Great place, friendly staff and a good price.
The employees are really nice. You are supposed to get a discount every five times you do a manicure. For the second time they could not find my rewards and I am supposed to start all over again. Unfortunately I will not go there again for a manicure.
Appointments are strongly recommended. But make sure you pick a technician, otherwise you end up waiting for the next available technician, even if you have an appointment. It was over an hour late from my appointment before I got seen.Previously thought it was nice despite the heavy traffic.
At a glance, this place is quite the trendy nail salon concept. I did enjoy my visit, and the service was great, but there were a few things that concerned me. When you walk in, the place doesnt look that clean overall. The chairs in the waiting area have their cushions semi-pulled out, and have polish spills on them. Also, the washcloths they use for your manicure look old and dingy. Ive heard so many horror stories about the germs in salons, so Im weary to return to places that dont feel clean.
First time visitor. She did a fine job on my toes but the service was not fantastic. There was no sign of prices. There are little menus next to each pedicure station but if youre new they dont stick out. She only told me what it was once I asked. Apparently you also get a complimentary drink that was never offered to me. The facility was relatively clean but I ddint see the come out of a sealed bag. I really wanted to like this place its so easy for me to get to but Ill be going else where in the future.
I will no longer go to this nail salon. I don’t know if they got new management recently or something, but today was it. Their receptionist has no clue what’s going on and is completely unprofessional. The nail technician did a poor job — they look fine from a distance, but have a ton of flaws, and she cut me when she was talking to another technician and wasn’t looking. To top it all off, they charged me more than my visit just two weeks ago, based on a pamphlet they have hidden behind the counter that has different prices than the pamphlet on display and after they had to figure the price out amongst themselves for several minutes. Absolutely ridiculous — there are plenty of other salons that I will be going to from now on!
Some of the staff are amazing. Some are just mediocre at best. The prices are a tiny bit steep if you get one of the amazing technicians, but miserably over priced if you get a poor one. At this place Ive had both my best manicure/pedicure ever, and the worst one ever (literally walked out, as the fumbling man was filing down the tops - not ends - of my nails with a more grainy file and very nearly put a hole in the top of my nail...)
If you get dip manicures like myself don’t expect to leave with the color you picked out. This has now happened to me on two separate occasions at this salon. The number and name will be correct on the jar but the color is totally different. And when I pointed it out the lady said to me “well sometimes the displays are old and the colors change” okay well maybe you should change your displays? Because I’m paying $48 for a manicure and I expect to leave with the color I picked out. Then Who I think was the manager proceeded to hand me a card with 2 stamps on it (when you get 6 stamps you get $10 off your next service) like what am I supposed to do with this?! I went back because I believe in second chances but I will never return to this salon.
One of the best mani/pedi Ive ever got so far + the place is really clean and people are so nice
Had a wonderful time!
I’ve been coming here for years, but after today’s service I will not return. My tech rushed me from the very start of my appointment, and she was very rough on my nails. She did not wait for people polish to soak off and began to scrape. Then she tried to use a coarse file on top my natural nails, and I finally told her to stop. She wound up breaking one of my nails down very low and denied she’d done it. My natural nails are in worse shape now, and my $41gel manicure looks worse than the $30 manicure I got on a business trip last week. Their products, technique, and service or not worth the price.
My wife loves the place and comes here whenever we are in town
I have gone to this place for years and have never had a bad experience. The people who work here work hard and are very pleasant.
My reservation was for a $24 regular French manicure. I inadvertently received a poorly done and poorly shaped $44 gel manicure. When they insisted I pay for a gel manicure I refused. They then informed me that I will to have to return to have the gel removed or file each nail down myself and soak it in acetone. NOT what I wanted, NOT what I signed up for. It honestly feels like a bait and switch. Do not go here!
I made an appt. online with Nini @2pm. I didnt get served until after 2pm and it was with someone else. Theres no point in making an appointment with one person just to get another. I completely done with them.
The woman that provided my mani/pedi was extremely rude and made the experience quite unpleasant. She was very rude when I asked her not to use the grater on my feet. I have ticklish feet and simply dont like the idea of someone taking a cheese grater to my heels. She scolded me almost continuously on how I was positioning my feet/hands and was just generally unpleasant. With so many options for nail salons, Im not planning to return to the Metropolitan Nail Bar and would not recommend it to anyone else.
Ive had my nails done here 3 times, and every time the mani/pedi has been so so. Their staff is friendly. However, they were a bit sloppy in painting my nails, and it didnt seem to stay on for very long. Their prices are the same as other salons in the area, but I still feel that theyre a bit pricey for the quality.
I highly recommend Steven for your services if youre coming in on a weekend, if not Jessica will take care of you. If you can avoid it all together- do. My boyfriend was even disappointed with his mani/pedi. His nails were uneven almost jagged on his toes and nails. It was a VERY sloppy job - just cause hes 64 and a manly man doesnt mean he wont notice your crappy services.Like other reviews, I wish I loved my neighborhood nail place more. It is so convenient (location and website use) and nice inside! But each time I go I have something else to add to my mental checklist of things to Watch out for and that frame of mind is not worth it. I go out of my way to drive to Ashburn VA.I drive out of my way to Serenity Nails for exceptional personalized service ($70 gel mani w pedi). But when I really cant make the drive I visit my local Metro Nail bar.All the techs here seem to have to be babysat to ensure quality outcomes. I.E.1. Dont cut my toenails too short- then watch them!! too short is relative. Here Ive found its better to say file only2. Thin line for the french please -- watch them, this is also totally relative. Ive found its better to force a smile and ask for another tech because theres alot of sass in this place when you are specific with your desired outcomes.3. Dont put my gel on too thick - this causes the OPI to make my nails look like fake nails, which is no bueno! I really got lucky with Steven because Ive had a couple women techs here that really dont seem to understand nor do they try to remedy the situation.4. I asked my tech to straighten out my nails in my Squoval phase (straight on top round on the corners) and she insisted my nails were just crooked. No! Honey HAHAHAH this is you finger! Look! It crooked Seriously? Lets say my fingers are crooked... you can still overcompensate on one side for the appearance of even nails, can you not? It got a little ridiculous, luckily Jessica was able to finish up and correct the techs bad filing job. This nail bar has convenient underground parking ($3.00), free street parking, or metered private lot parking behind the building. On nice days I dont mind the walk from the parking lot through Pentagon Row or through CVS but usually the garage, which has an elevator next door to the nail bar is my choice! The front desk is very helpful. They use an iPad for check in/check out processes (no questionable prices here - very transparent). I always take advantage of reserving my tech online, they include pics in case you forget names :)Complimentary water, red, and white wine is nice but Id trade compd drinks for service oriented techs any day! The salon is super clean. Im not a fan of the highbar for manis, its not very comfy to me but thats my *only* complaint about the salon itself. The bathrooms are clean, the utensils are clean, the seats are clean etc.The color options are spot on here, usually with new ones arriving for each season. I have even had a broken nail and called Steven with an SOS and he searched and found the OPI color to confirm he could fix it.I would give more stars if the techs werent so darn rude and incompetent. The customer is always right just agree to disagree with me then fix my nails anyway!!
I love Marry. She is a perfectionist
I would like to say I have the Best Nail Tech TitiShe is awesome knows what a customer wants 💅💅💅💅💅💅💅💅💅💅💅💅💅💅💅💅💅💅
Acrylic nail broke off after 3 days, polish already peeling off and they cut my friends cuticle 3 times, nail shape not correct, acrylic uneven, wavy, and lumpy, not same length, overpriced
My regular. Not crazy for the ambiance but I keep going back for my tech, Kayla.
I will never return again I tried Angie 4 times she has the worse people skills & the worse polish service, shes very rude, & unprofessional !!!
Wine-n-relax
Clean and nice. A bit overly expensive.
The best!!
Love them.
Great atmosphere
Metropolitan is the best
Expensive
