Esther Del Orbe is a great stylist who gave me a professional looking haircut and beard trim. I have received butchered haircuts from a variety of barbers but she is by far one of the best stylist to have cut my hair. Not only do I look great but I feel great too.Thank You Ester for the great new look!!
Pretty sure I should have just walked out the second I walked in, but anyways a yelling match between two barbers was ensuing with a customer already in the other chair. Pretty sure a manager was trying to calm them down to no avail. So they stopped to seat me...then got right back to it. Ill tell ya, Ive never focused as hard on a pair of scissors and a straight razor in my life as I did today.Recommend you go elsewhere if you dont wanna pay to experience a WWE style barbershop with the manager acting like a referee. Shop just needs a fold up chair and someone to rip there shirt in half and its game on bro.
Sondes did an exceptional job. She listened to what I wanted and the result was perfect. We also had a nice conversation about her work. I will definitely go back.
The barber did not cut as expected. I showed him the picture and said the exact same. But after the haircut this guy is like it cannot be the same as the picture. And I said then why did you agree? To which he replied then I would have to do a buzz cut. I had to leave with this unwanted haircut. He was done in like 8 min. Very very bad service. There are many other barbershops, please don’t waste your money here.
I went in to get my hair trimmed and my sides shaped up with a fade and instead I had my hair butchered with no fade and half my head buzzed. I literally showed the barber a photo reference, he said no problem, and then he proceeded to weed wack my hair with his clippers and scissors. He buzzed my sides way to high and he buzzed the back of my head all the way to the top. I might as well have cut my own hair blindfolded. At one point I had to tell him to not buzz my hair up any higher. Had I not said that, I would have likely walked out with a mohawk. I also told him to simply trim the top and instead he proceeded to hack it apart. It looks awful. THIS IS LITERALLY THE WORST HAIR CUT IVE EVER HAD! I would never recommend this place to anyone. I normally dont leave reviews but Im hoping to help someone else avoid the disaster that I experienced earlier and will now have to walk around with on the top of my head for the next month or so until my hair grows out and I can go to a legit barber who knows what theyre doing.
Horrible service, in my sons prom he wanna style straight and brushed as the pic show. The barber dont understand and he cut his hair and left wet with his wayves, no clean hair all over the neck and face .
Come get a nice fade by my bod Ali. He took care of me and has got me looking phresh and clean. Cuts start at 25 bones. Bring cash, no card, ATM on site.
Do not come here! Go to Supercuts, Great Clips or any of the barber shops closer to Clarendon Had a horrible exerpience, and better to go to another barber shop (Bearded Goat Barber a block away is outstanding! ) To make matters worse, I parked outside this store, and the car behind me was illegally parked and just left its emergency hazard lights on with no driver in the driver side, along the curb. So when I would move my car out of the parallel spot on the curb, I could not see any cars from behind me because the car behind was creating a huge blind spot. Low and behold, the car belonged to an employee at this barber shop and told me to Get lost when I explained to him about his illegally parked car. DO NOT SHOP HERE, and I implore you to go to another barber shop.
Ruined my hair Guy was nice until he basically forced me to tip him literally tried to keep all my change ($15). I showed reference pictures and he cut it insanely different from what I asked for.
It was awsome experience, really nice and smart work done by them.
Ahmad is top notch! Great barber shop!
Cut was uneven and rushed, which is unacceptable for the high price. Not to mention they only accept cash, but are happy to offer an ATM that they own.
Always fast and professional. Good covid protocols.
Ive been coming here for years. Willys staff are always friendly and reliable for good haircuts. Its one of my go-to places 😁👍
It my first time here and yeah this barber shop got my first impression with the really nice fade and line up 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Went to this barber whose name was Ali. Got the best haircut of my life. I look completely different and amazing. He was so friendly that I will be a loyal customer for life.Thank you so much Ali
Great haircut but Chris (my haircutter) quoted $45 at the end. Obviously a lot for a haircut but I paid. Then called them after for a quote for men’s haircut and they said $25. I went back and got the $20. Maybe it was an honest mistake, but probably not. Don’t know how you’d accidentally quote $40% more.
They are open during quarantine but the customer service has suffered. My barber, the only woman I saw cutting hair, asked me what length the sides should be.I said two and she did not say anything after that, confidently going from setting to setting on her clippers.Without asking me, she took off much more of the top than I wanted and gave the crown of my head a weird basketball look Ive never seen in 40 haircuts over the past 20 years. If there had been any communication I think we couldve agreed to something I wouldve liked, but I paid $25 to dislike how my hair will look for the next two weeks.
Willie Barber Shop is my favorite place to get a haircut, Sondes is my hairstylist, I am so relaxed when I come in. Sondes pays attention to detail, my eyebrows, my ears and my nose, and the back of my neck ! When all is done/ she puts a hot towel all over my head and neck, making feel more relax ! She makes me feel like a Million dollars ! Thank Sondes !
The owner of the shop was so professional and the service was great. It was overall a great and pleasant experience
Great haircut. Friendly, professional staff. Reasonable prices. I always look forward to getting my hair cut at willys barber shop. Sondes is the best!
I love this place! No frills cut for set price, cash. I have had different barbers every time for the past 6 times. I have had some of the best cuts and some less-than good cuts, but they have always been quick, cheap and professional. Will continue to recommend for people who are not looking for anything too stylish or can live with a mediocre cut every once in a while.
My favorite place in the area to get a clean fade. $20 haircuts and they always do a great job. Highly recommend!
Here you will find the BEST barbers, thanks Fares.
I went here for years but lately it seems like they’ve lowered the bar. They do great haircuts, but not what I asked for. One of the stylists rushes through cuts and basically scrapes your head. With two people, I asked for a specific cut and when at the end I said it wasn’t what I asked for (I wanted shorter, so they could still fix it), they got defensive. I get a hard part/line on one side of my head, and the last couple of times it came out crooked.I don’t know what changed, but their attention to detail has gone way down.
Ive been here several times and Ill be coming back. My hair was consistently shorter when I left than it was upon my arrival. Their process are reasonable as well. I do wish they took debit cards but its not going to stop me from coming back.
Walid is a real one for sure, more people need to get a haircut from him
Depending on the day you go it might be packed. But I assure you its worth it. Ive never walked out with a bad cut. Its hard to find a barber you can trust and Ill always put my hair in their hands
Ive been coming here for years! I highly recommend Khalid B. (has since left). Hes a super nice guy and fun to talk to. Willys is a rare treat in a hard cut culture obsessed with delivering weird experiences or unnecessary complication.UPDATE: when I go here I now see Chris. Hes the best there now.
I have been looking for a good barber. Friends told me to go to Willys. I went in to get my beard shaped up. Told the guy I just wanted him to shape it, and he shaved off almost all of the length with a #3 guard. So he shaved by beard too much, I could deal with it. Then he started shaving my mustache and he shaved a freaking hole into it. To cover his own ass, he shaved the mustache down as much as he could so the hole wasnt obvious anymore. Some of the other barbers looked like they new what they were doing, but dont go to the guy I went to unless you want your day ruined. He is in the back right of the barber shop in a little enclave behind the only Asian in there, who I heard was good.Older guy. darker skin. from Egypt. Just say no!This is the first complaint I have ever posted. This 26$ haircut was that bad. This happened 10-26-2016 at 1pm
I love my boy Khalid. He gives me the freshest cut in town. Very reasonably priced at a base haircut price of $17 w/o tip. Can get busy at times, however you can call in to schedule a time.
I seriously love this place. I have been coming here for over a year for haircuts for me and my son. I always request the same barber for my son, she is very good with children and does an awesome job. For myself, i stick to the same 2 barbers and they both do an excellent job. I recently had a beard trim and he did an awesome job as well.NOTE- ITS CASH ONLY! They have an atm inside but i have had trouble with it in the past. I just bring cash instead.
Been getting my hair cut here for years. I wont share my go-to barber because hes hard enough to see as it is already. Highly recommend this place, and I had tried several other places before settling here.
Great place for a mens haircut though their prices keep inching up and are now at $20. Probably not the cheapest rent so I dont blame them, but its not the deal it was when it was $16. I know some people are very particular about which barber they use, but Ive really only had issues with one person there, and any of the other 8 or so have given me a great cut every time. The straight razor trim on the edges is a nice touch. Cash only, though they have an ATM.
Went for a simple shave. The barber managed to cut me in three different places and just left them like that, kept scratching with a towel at areas of my neck that he had made red, making them further irritated. Did not even try to clean the random hairs off my face. Had to ask him for at least some aftershave. Would highly recommend having a conversation with your barber before starting.
I am very pleased and happy to have Anis as my barber. He is a super professional guy with lots of energy and enthusiasm.
I love this place! I have been going here for over 2 years and still continue to get my hair cut by Hamid. I moved to Alexandria yet I still find my way over to Willys when I need a trim!
Decided to pop in and give the place shot. The place was packed, but barbers here hustle. A chair opened up right away and I was welcomed quickly into it. I did not catch my barbers name but he was quick and skilled. I was in and out in less than 7 minutes. Its cash only but there is an atm inside. They also provide a warm shave free of charge.
Favorite place to get my hair cut in the area. Very friendly haircutters and a nice environment inside.😊
I took a chance based on a previous review on here and Ahmad (Ahmed) did not disappoint, he was awesome! He was very attentive and engaging. Great haircut! Will definitely be back!
This place is just ok for $20. My haircut is pretty easy, but I expected more back-and-forth than just one question asked. Barber used clippers for 90% of cut, when its usually only 60% (other 40 done by scissors). I will say it was fast for that reason. Ok in a pinch.
Stay away from the barbers sitting and waiting for new “walk-in” customers. It’s immediately evident when a barber doesn’t know how to cut hair. I pointed out that there were a few uneven areas and he told me “no it’s just darker there” -umm, yes, that’s what happens when it’s uneven!! Also, I’ve seen my hair every day for over 30 years so I’m pretty sure I know what it looks like and should look like. After insisting he go over it again, he realized I was right. Lazy, and unskilled. The only reason I give two starts is because I’ve been here before to a different barber and actually got a decent cut.
Very good haircut. I can finally go to a place and be at ease knowing my haircut wont be bad with any barber at Willys. Price is great too. $16 for a cut is realistic. My only complaint is that they should pick up customer hair off floor a little more often as it tends to make the place look sloppy after a few cuts.
Thanks Sondes. It was a great experience and amazing hair cut.Sondes the best
Arab baber
Cash only. Only 2 guys are great there, so good luck finding them not busy. Other times, I nearly went home and shaved my head. Never going there again. Everyone is nice, but nice doesnt fix whats already been ruined. My hairline is as wide as a highway now. And they all speak in their languages, which most of the time is very uncomfortable, not a bad thing, but its all they do. Now I have to wear a hat for several weeks.
Quick and simple and at the right price
Tri is the man. The haircut, like any place, is dependent on the stylist. Everyone is nice and the place has always been good.
Cash only!!! First time here and dude was absolutely terrible. Safe to say I dont want to come back and try again. Only reason I gave 2 stars is because maybe their other employees might be better but Im not risking trying them out. Tore my head apart
Hamed does great work! Was nervous cause his personal space was a bit cluttered and he was a bit quiet. But I was pleasantly surprised. Haircuts have gone up to $19 bucks for men. But still much better than the 15/16 buck haircuts Ive had from other barber shops. Would have given 5 stars had his personal space been more organized. He knock a few things on the ground. Will definitely be going back to see him again.
Whatever you do, don’t let the lady (name starts with S) touch your hair. She’s normally the one sitting waiting for first time customers (maybe cuz she doesn’t get repeats). I’ve been there before. I normally see Chris, but he wasn’t there. So as soon as I walk in the door, she quickly ushered me to her chair. Figured I’d give her a chance, big mistake. She started out ok but it just got worse and worse. I literally had to stop her. Asked who was the manager. Of course she says it was her. I told her that I wanted someone else to finish my haircut. At this point it was just a matter of salvaging what’s left. I really didn’t want to put her on blast, but just wanted to let people know.
This Barber Shop is the best in the area, especially Hameed, hes the best barber. I have tried couple barbers before but all of them were really bad. DO NOT go to Tarek, hes worst in DMV region I believe.
Ive received a mediocre haircut here, and Ive received mediocre service here, but these were by two of the dozen or so barbers who work here. It is also partially my fault for never requesting a specific barber who I know will do a phenomenal job.I am giving this place five stars for price, consistency, and convenience. I never wait too long, and most everyone is extremely courteous and professional. I like it despite an occasional hiccough.
I went in they gave me exactly what I wanted and great price wonderful people
The barbarin guy cut my hair real good
I did not receive a detailed and reliable cut. I will NOT be going back and suggest that you think twice.A barber quickly took me into his chair. I let him know what kind of cut I was looking for and he -and his fellow barber - guaranteed that he could do it.Over the next 15 minutes, I received a cut that was rushed, haphazardly straight edged, and culminated with me bleeding from my forehead. There seemed to be a language barrier between him and I so that likely contributed to the disappointing end result. Glad I have a few hats to wear over the next couple weeks.
I have left this barber devastated. First of all Im a woman with short hair, the only thing I asked for was for the back to be faded. I am just now growing my hair after having it shaved to illness. So I finally have enough hair to cut and could not be more shattered by how this woman ruined my hair. It is jagged, uneven, and one small bald spot covered by longer pieces. The sides and top untouched. This is devastating bc it has taken me two years to get it to be THIS length. I told the woman repeatedly this was not what I wanted and it looked totally off. She ignored me and rushed me out of her seat. I went home and tried my hardest to comb and fluff the wrongs. It is unfixeble. . Please please Women understand this, they had the audacity to charge me more money stating bc Im a woman. I said but I didnt even get washed, blow dried, or neck shaved (like the men do) I wish more than anything I could post pics bc no on would ever go back there again. It is unbelievable. I got in my darn car went straight back in and got my money back. Two men greeted me took me outside and were panicked! Bc charging more for a woman with short hair is absolutely ridiculous!!!! If I could say anything it is DO NOT go here!
One of the best spots in the dc-metro area. Last few haircuts have been rough though. The barbers the back row do great work.
Fair price for a haircut in the area ($19), includes a strait razor neck shave and eye brown trim. Ive had about 5 or 6 haircuts here so far. Ive had two from Tri, who is by far the best. Ive never been able to tell someone what I want and have them do it exactly without me having to jump in and correct them, except with Tri. If I could rate him specifically, Id give him 5 stars for sure. The reason why I give an overall 4 star review for this place is that the other haircuts Ive had from other barbers have just been okay. Would recommend finding your barber of choice, getting their schedule, and wait for them if they have a customer.
I went to get my hair cut today and I can honestly say this is the worst hair cut I’ve ever gotten. I didn’t realize until I got home and into actual light. The barber “-Tarek” was just wildly cutting pieces off and forgot chunks of hair on the sides. When shaping up around my ears he took a chunk of hair out.... I won’t be going back. Anyone know any good barbershops in ballston?
Ahmed was awesome. Took his time and gave me a great fade. Will definitely be back, highly recommend!
I usually go and get a good cut but this time it was rushed and uneven. I am not happy with the result. Dissapointing
Tri is the man. He will follow your directions and will make sure you are satisfied. Highly recommend him.
Very good haircuts for $20, the standard rate in the Ballston-Rosslyn corridor. There are several barbers here, but I can personally vouch for Hamid and Khaled.
Great team of barbers. I probably tried 8 of them and never had any problems. Most of them are time effecient too
They have very friendly staff that cut hair of all textures and lengths very quickly and with precision.
I’ve had my haircut here several times, all we’re great cuts.
The best barber shop in the U.S. Excellent location with a very good environment. All of the barbers were friendly without exception. I highly recommend it....👍👍👍
This place is always busy, for a reason. Most of the barbers here are great. Go in the morning to avoid the rush. My go-to guy is Wadia. You can get a haircut and full shave for $35. They dont take credit cards. Bring cash or pay the ATM fee inside.
It’s really authentic haircut, stoped by this barbershop after coming for Ohio, google best barbershop at city of faitfax and find really this place is the best.
Great shave and a haircut. Cost more than two bits though. 😆
Fantastic attention to detail by Khalid. They took me immediately even though they were PACKED. Great job.
Tri has it my hair 4 times now and I’ve been happy with it every time! Better value than other places nearby too—$20 for a haircut
These people know your hair. They are precise, clean, and the straight razor after is amazing. This place is for professional men who take pride in looking good. I highly recommend all of the barbers.
I always get a great haircut when I come here. Never had to wait longer than 5 minutes, and the price is pretty reasonable
Great barber shop. Everyone is solid. My go-to is Hameed though. Also, they only take cash (they do have an ATM though)
I specifically asked for a 1/2 trim of my longer hair and general clean up. Stylist indicated she understood but ended up taking clippers to it and before I knew it, damage was done. The cut itself was not bad- its just not what I asked for. Dont know if I would chance it again.
Khalid is the best. Been going to him for a year and not a bad cut. Tell him what you want and you shall receive.
Walked in and sat right down. Done people were waiting for a specific barber, but Abdel did a great cut with hot foam shave for $17.
So far so good. Best price I could find. They get the job done
Great place to get a haircut. Generally all the barbers here are very good at what they do
People didnt go there if you respect yourself. It was the worst experience ever. When I came up to the barber shop there was a guy smoking outside and he was like hey whats up dude you want to get a haircut? I can do that So we went inside and then he even didnt wash his hands before he started his job and in the end when I asked him to cut my hair shorter on the sides he said that he not gonna do that because its gonna be another haircut and I need to pay double for that. He was very rude. I dont know how this place got so many good reviews. Never gonna be back and wont recommend this place to my friends.
Never left disappointed with the haircuts Ive gotten here. The barbers are friendly and the haircuts are relatively cheap. If youre looking for a good, small business barber shop, this is the place for you.
Amazing place for a cut and shave but they don’t cards and only do cash. ATM is available however.
Most uneven hair cut I’ve ever gotten. Went in with a good hair cut, asking for the same look only shorter, shouldn’t have been difficult. Butchered
Solid barbershop where you can often get a chair quick if not waiting for specific person. Cash only
Went here a couple times. The first time, I was left with more than a few awkward missed long hairs on the top. The second time, dude either forgot or didn’t want to shave my neck (I only noticed the neck hair after leaving), which I’ve always had as standard part of a haircut. I would have expected more care from a haircut priced at $20 before tip.
The best barber shop in DC metropolitan areaVery professional guys
So I work in a business right around the corner from this barber. I walked in and was seen right away. The gentleman that took me was a heavyset balding man towards the front. Very nice guy. I asked for a 3 and a little off top. He showed me my hair and the trick mirror... it looked ok --- I returned to the office. I was told by my boss that he left me a huge bald spot across the back of my head. In using my phone to look into the mirror - I noticed neck line was way too shinny for a 3. My whole office laughed when I walked in. I normally get my hair done where I live, but I always see people coming out of this place --- sooooo I gave it a shot. Not happy right now! I am torn on what to do --- but for $17.00 a haircut I am forced to go back in.... I will post an update.....
Good, cheap cuts for men. Abdel had been cutting my hair for years now and it always looks good when hes done.
Bad service, they dont get very involved, theyre only interested in making quick money, nothing advisable.
Love getting my hair cut here.
I googled this and went there as it is near by my office. That guy did haircut on his own and he didnt listen to me. The final result is worst. I dont suggest to go there.👎🏻
Ive had my best and worst haircuts here. BEWARE of the new person in the shop. They seem to rotate through these guys pretty quick and they consistently give a bad haircut from my experience. I personally always go to Tri but if you choose any of the younger guys you will be good. Do your research and choose a barber... be careful if you just show up and someone asks you if you want your hair cut. This is normally the new person because they dont have a wait.
This place is not worth trying... expensive, not very good at what they do
First of all the place looked unkept. Then there was a dirty fan right in front of me which blew a piece of hair into my eye and one into my throat. So Im literally coughing and blinking the whole time. Then the fade was mediocre. When I asked him to fade the line a bit more he said, youre too much. He cut my hair by combing it down my face and cutting across instead of pulling it up like a real stylist/barber. And if all that wasnt enough, the razor he used on my neck is ancient and left it unreasonably red. $19 not worth it
Been getting my hair cut here for years. I dont have a lot left on the top, but they do a great job triming my beard and keeping me looking sharp
Ive been here twice now, with excellent haircuts both times. One time by Tri (pronounced Tree), and a second by Kahlid. Tri did a perfect job. I asked Khalid to cut the top a little shorter than he did on his first pass, and he gladly did with no complaints, and he did a great job.I cant speak for the other barbers they employ, and Im not sure if you can choose your barber there (it appears to be a next-available barber set-up), but Im 2 for 2 now, and I plan on using them again.
