As someone with facial trauma, getting my haircut or colored is usually a difficult experience due to having someone get that close to the most sensitive and vulnerable part of me. Normally is takes two people, one to completely distract me and the other to quickly provide the needed hair service. Getting my hair done is one of the worse experiences that I have to endure on a routine basis. It takes mental preparation to be ready to have someone that close to my head and face, and often requires me to decompress afterwards.With working with Kelsie as Cole’s in Apple Valley, I have been able to let go of some of that mental anguish that comes with getting a haircut. I am comfortable in her chair, allowing her to cut and color my hair without the need of a second person to distract me. Her gentle manner has just made me feel relaxed to the point where I am not afraid and not reliving trauma memories while sitting there. And I haven’t been her client for that long!Kelsie has been a godsend for me. She has taken the awful experience of getting a haircut and turned into a enjoyable experience where I am able talk and even laugh while getting it done. I definitely would recommend Kelsie to anyone.

I had a great experience with Emma E.! From the virtual consult to leaving the chair, she was responsive and thoughtful. I have fine hair that started off brassy and damaged on the ends. Emma listened to my requests and gave me a dimensional, natural dark brown balayage and a healthy haircut that added a ton of volume. She even went the extra mile when one section of my hair was stubborn, by doing a second toner process. It was a great experience, with excellent staff and a professional setting.

Took my 11 year old to get her hair dyed purple. The hair dyed was a let down, only lasted 3 days before fading away. The experience and the staff were awesome. My daughter loved it and the stylist that took care of her. The service has always been above average, thus time the product was no the best. The stylist did give me the very MN passive aggressive hints that the dyed would not last, but I knew my daughter would love the experience. Insert old saying about good memories being priceless here 😄.Will still highly recommend this place. The staff is great and knowledgeable, my experience has always been positive, and you always feel good when you leave the chair.

I always appreciate my hair appointments with Chrissy E. She is so friendly and fun to work with! She is the first person to get me and my style! ☺️Also, when possible, she’ll fit me in when I have a last minute need! Such as last Tuesday, 6/15. I had an appointment scheduled that day at 11:00. I had no time to color my own hair. I called the day before asking if her schedule would allow a cut and color. Sure enough she was able to accommodate my last minute request! It has been years since receiving a haircut that actually excited me! Carsyn did an amazing job giving me some bold bangs despite how nervous I was! She also made sure to use products that were helpful to my sensitive skin. I hope to see her soon, since Ill need a trim in the future. This store is also very clean!

Scheduled a hair appointment online expecting to walk into a wonderful experience. As I was sitting in the chair explaining what I wanted done, I was told they could not color my hair since the appointment I made was only for a cut. I then was told I could only make a color appointment over the phone. I explained I tired to book a color appointment but there was no options, so in the comments I left a note saying I wanted a color appointment and for them to please give me a call to set one up. I never got a call so I assumed it would be alright. No where on their website does it say you must schedule a color appointment over the phone. They could not even apologize for the mistake, and was told to look else where for an appointment. I felt so disrespected and disappointed in the staff I left crying. I will never go back, you’re better off going somewhere else.

Maddie Enright has been my stylist for a few years now and no one has ever understood my hair and style like her. Im always happy after my appointments with what she does and just the overall atmosphere at the Apple Valley Salon.

I came in with box dyed demi hair color and wanted it lightened to a chocolate brown color. When they put in the color remover my hair started immediately frying and lifting to a really light blonde at my roots and orange ends. They assured me everything was okay and after a couple people came to gether to discuss what color to put on my hair they applied the hair color. My hair turn out a very orange tint of brown. The salon was closing so my stylist said we didnt have time to do afancy haircut but offered to do a straight cut to refresh the ends. She did a really fast job and I honestly wish I said I didnt want the cut cuz the price was not worth it. Anyways its been a week now and im a multicolored red head with brown under tones. I just wish the stylist was honest at our consultation with her inexperienced in lighten box dyed hair:( I could have gone somewhere else.

I hadnt gotten my hair cut since before quarantine started and decided it was time for me to stop trimming my own hair. Greta H did such an amazing job and was so kind! I am an EMT and most of the time my hair is up and out of my face and on days off Id have my hair up too because it wasnt looking the best because there was no shape or style to it anymore. Greta made me love my hair again!Staff is absolutely fantastic too- so kind and welcoming when I came in and when I left! Also their covid precautions are fantastic too!

I have been going here over 10 years. The store is clean, the employees are welcoming and the stylists are excellent. I have been seeing Ashley P. for years and she is amazing at cutting curly hair. I also love their annual hair products sale. Every October they do a sale on all of their hair cutting supplies. the sale is buy one product get the other product half off. you cant beat that when youre buying products such as Bumble and bumble.

My first cut/color/wax since Covid19... was I ready to go back? My hair and brows said yes my frame of mind not so much. But I did and had a wonder experience! Addie cut and colored, she was amazing, exactly the invert and color I was wanting to achieve and Abby who waxed my brows made me feel like like I have my eyes back! Both were so fantastic! The salon had the perfect rhythm of clients coming in and out, stations were clean and the staff friendly and thoughtful.

Weve seen Bryan for my kids haircuts for awhile now and had been fairly happy up until now. Thus far, when we asked he avoid the hair dryer on my oldest (a preschooler) he has respected this request. At our most recent visit, as we do each time we are in, we respectfully asked that Bryan avoid the hair dryer as it makes my child uncomfortable. He instead used it anyways and blasted air right in my childs face. I stopped him and said, Wait, remember, I said we didnt want that and he responded with Oh, I know.... Im not using it much. He then proceeds to tell me that he bribes other kids with extra suckers so he can use the hair dryer.Lets think about this whole situation in terms of consent. If my husband were getting a haircut from Bryan, I doubt that he would use a hair dryer if my husband said no thanks in the beginning of the appointment. So why ignore a woman who is trying to advocate for her child? We are paying for a service, we are paying him to listen to us and respect our wishes in this short exchange. I am trying to make sure my kid is comfortable with this whole situation and yeah, her simple and very reasonable request matters. I dont think its a stretch to ask that a business treats all of its customers with the same courtesy and respect, regardless of age. Overall, it was a very uncomfortable experience. We will not be coming back to see Bryan.

I have been going to this Coles for 15 years. I have only been seen there by Brian Morlock for all 15 of those years. He is amazing. Amy is the manager and is also amazing, she even remembers me when I come in. Both of my kids (ages 11 and 8) had their first haircuts with Brian and have never had anyone else do it. (except when Brian has PTO and its an emergency (sorry Brian)). I absolutely love this place and will never go anywhere else!

Two folded review:Pros:I had my hair colored and cut by Bryan a week ago, he took a ratty, damaged head of hair and gave me locks that make me smile every time I catch myself in the mirror. I love my hair. I love the vibrant color, and that my hair feels healthy again! Well worth the money, and time!Took my husband and 2 of my 3 kids today for hair cuts; and he did wonderfully on all 3. If we had gone anywhere else (like fantastic sams or great clips; which is what we usually do) I would have hated all 3 cuts and it would have been wasted money. But he nailed every single cut and they are very pleased, specially my daughter! She loves her new bob!Cons:He could use a little more tact when it comes to kids with autism spectrum. My littlest is a high functioning kiddo, but today he was a bit erratic because he was out of his element and the way Bryan treated him was a bit rough, which could be due to lack of experience dealing with a child who has anxiety and autism spectrum disorder. (Which will fix itself as we see Bryan more often because then my son will be used to him.)Other than that, I recommend Bryan to everyone who asks about my hair!

I had a cut that was fantastic and the atmosphere is trendy and upscale with AVEDA tea to relax you when you walk in. The front desk staff is highly knowledgeable regarding the products and willing to help with no pressure sales. I did get my hair colored and unfortunately that turned out pretty bad. The salon manager contacted me a day later and said they would make it right...waiting to hear back as to when and I will change my rating to 5 stars if it gets corrected soon. Id still recommend this salon!!

I love this place and have been going for years. The only downfall is that over the years the stylists that I love keep leaving! But, other than that its a wonderful place. I always come out feeling great about what I got done, unlike other hair salons Coles is the only place that seems to be able to do my hair the way I want. They listen and give advice! Love it!!!

Just wanted to try it out because it’s closer to my house and I got a gift card. I wanted to change so I asked for experienced stylist but turned out it doesn’t look like what I expected it looks the same but shorter than I wanted. Now I can’t do anything just have to wait for hair to grow back and fix it:( With the price I paid for so so haircut I’d rather use my gift card just to buy products there. I enjoyed talking to her but disappointed for my hairstyle
