I highly recommend Kim! She is very receptive to your requests and has done a great job with my hair for the last year. I do occasionally have to wait despite an appointment but consider it to be worth the wait.

Having had yet another smarmy experience add another mens place”… I was reticent to try mens extras in Apex. When I called they were professional and polite on the phone and they gave me an appointment in a reasonable amount of time. I still had my guard up when I arrived for the appointment, but my fears were unfounded. Britney was professional, polite, thorough and kind. I felt welcome and at ease. It was comfortable there. It was sincere.That was February 2015- or thereabouts. It is now October 2015, and I wouldnt dream of having my haircut anywhere else. If youre looking for a good place to get your haircut with a comfortable atmosphere definitely check them out. I have not had my haircut by anyone there but Britney, but I would not hesitate to try anyone else. Everyone seems friendly and welcoming, but in a sincere and normal kind of way, not a Step-ford I wouldnt fall asleep... kind of way.Update: 2019. This is still the best place to get a good haircut. I’d call ahead for an appointment though. Walk-ins are taken care of but they do book up.

Very courteous. I received a great haircut from Kim. They put up with my crazy 4 year old causing a ruckus and had cookies for the holidays. It is a little more expensive than other places with a cut around $20 but its totally worth the extra couple dollars. 👍

I drive from Angier to get my hair cut here. I have been to this shop three times and was seen by two different stylists. I have been happy with both. They give a good cut. The prices here are reasonable/average for the area. The stylists are friendly and will help you learn how to style your hair if you ask. The first time I visited I was a walk in. The next two trips were scheduled same day. If you are visiting for the first time, be aware that they are on the second story. There is a door at ground level that leads to the stairs that take you to the salon. Iwill be back for sure.

Kim, my stylist, helps Mens Extras provide the perfect balance of fast, reasonably-priced, and on-trend. Shes tuned in to current styles and can make professional recommendations - based on your hair type - that look great every time. Word is getting around though, so be sure to call ahead of time for an appointment.

Mens Extra is fabulous for both mens and womens haircuts! They were able to get me in for an appointment the same day I called and gave me a cute, short haircut with my very long hair. The stylists are so friendly and made it a fun experience!

Nice enough staff but for the price, I really expected a more experienced stylist that knew how to do a modern mens cut. Not at all happy with the end results and would not recommend to a friend.

Price, service, and quality cant be beat!!! I used to travel 15+ miles and paid $40 for a good haircut after many flops in the area. The $11 and mens theme was what drew me in to this place to try it, and I wont go anywhere else now. The additional svcs they offer (at a great price) are excellent too. Cant beat it.

I went to go get my haircut there after moving down here and not having a hair cut in 2 months. Big mistake. I think they only have one style, short. So they practically shaved me after asking very vague questions, give me a very stupid looking haircut. I will not be visiting them again, in fact I might not be visiting any barbershop for some time to try to get a normal looking haircut. Guys who dont like bowlcuts, this is not the place for you.

Dissatisfied with the experience.First time visit. Waited for ~30 mins for my turn (normal thing). Then saw a person who came after me (5 to 10 mins late) being served first. (not normal thing). After few mins, I went to the reception to ask why he was served first. Reply - Oh..you came almost together (No). It doesnt matter (It does!). You will be up next soon. I said - that doesnt sound right. I dont want a haircut here. Came the reply - Ok.Disappointing to see good local places having such an attitude.This place has good reviews which is why I went there but they really lack in some things.
