Did not replace bolts correctly on my splash shield. They replaced it 3 months ago with my last oil change due to damage caused from a Valvoline in Nevada. It stayed up. Then we come here for another oil change and it falls down within the hour. At MSRP its $300 for a new one.When I pulled up to have them take it off Chase had the gall to ask if we cut our own splash shield. Blaming me for obvious heat damage from it falling back down. I will never return to this specific Valvoline and do not recommend anyone take their vehicle to these inexperienced children.

My husband has taken his vehicle here for a very long time. Almost every time he takes it in, they tell him his windshield washer reservoir is leaking. He never really noticed the issue, but when he went to get work done on his car in the Fall of 2020, he mentioned it and the shop replaced the reservoir. He takes his car into Valvoline today and sure enough - sir, your windshield washer reservoir is leaking. Oh really?!? Drives it home and parks in the driveway - well it sure is leaking now! Fluid is running out of the reservoir and leaving a huge puddle on the driveway - had it been doing that before he took it in, I would think we would have noticed it. It seems to me that it may have been punctured while they were changing the oil??? Fed up. Not going back.

Got an emergency oil change done here about a month ago on my Chevy Equinox, couple weeks later checked the oil and it was black as ink. Quick oil change, but it appears they refilled with new oil rather than doing a full oil change, still got charged $70! Beware of these places ripping you off... although its quick with great customer service, the quality isnt there.

99 dollars for a oil change. And yesterday I went to 2 vavol lines 1 didnt have my part the other 2 hour wait I was told they would email my receipt never er got it. Im done with this place

Had my oil changed at this location for the second time. The person was clearly in training. Which was fine, but no one was really watching over what he was doing. A month later.. I need to replace my master cylinder as he topped it off with a petroleum-based product and contaminated it. Oil change costing over $100.00. Price for his mistake $400.00. Have done business with Valvoline for years, but not usually at this location. Will not continue to go to this location in the future or Valvoline in general in the future. Hopefully it hasn’t made it further than the master cylinder. Drive my car 50-70 miles a day for work having a car stuck in someone else garage for a day isn’t ideal.Edit: Reached out to the company per below comment from owner. I’m assuming the email correspondence was a general customer service person. They were great. The manager did call to leave a voicemail stating they don’t carry brake fluid etc. So basically didn’t happen like human errors cannot happen. The point wasn’t about whether you carry brake fluid or not. The point is oil did get there and probably on accident. Just a basic apology I’m sorry that happened would’ve been just acceptable. My car hasn’t been anywhere else other than this Valvoline or a Valvoline in over a year. I’m not sure why they bothered reaching out in the first place.

I have been going to this location for over 2 years. They are always incredibly friendly, informative, quick, and precise. What stands out the most is the manager; she definitely cares about her crew and the customers. Today I heard a lot of gratitude between the employees and I don’t mean just being polite (Which they always are). It takes a strong leader to keep a constant positive atmosphere. I won’t go anywhere else for my oil changes. If this manager went somewhere else- I would probably follow her. Hope Valvoline shows it’s appreciation to her! Thank you!!

I always have a great experience here. They are fast, friendly and knowledgeable. The manager is fantastic and the gal I had today was awesome. She didnt try to get me to buy extras I didnt need but still went over what they offered. If I had more time, I would have probably taken her up on other options since she wasnt pushy.

Went to get an “instant” oil change. Waited an hour. An currently getting an oil change elsewhere since my last oil change here and they say the plug to my oil is completely stripped from my last oil change to the point it can’t be removed/ replaced. This place is useless. Go to LOF

I drove around back to the drive-up lane, and an employee came out and told me it might be about fifteen minutes before they could get me in. It actually turned out to be eight minutes when they guided me into the drive through stall. They asked me to stay in my vehicle while they performed the oil and filter change.They checked the belts, hoses, tire pressure, coolant, lights, and air filters. I was impressed with their thorough inspection. Eleven or twelve minutes later, I paid the tab and was on my way. No need to drive up to Lithia Nissan in Ames anymore ... Ill just give my business to Valvoline, right here in Ankeny from now on!

Had my oil changed on my 2018 Chevy Silverado that had 28k miles on it a week ago. I was told it was time for an “engine flush” based on my mileage- I mindlessly agreed, which I blame myself for. My truck had zero issues before going there, but after I left, the check engine light came on. A week later, it is still driving hard.After doing a little research, I learned these “engine flushes” can be hard on your engine valves and can often void your manufacturer warrantee- they seem like a dubious and suspect service if you maintain proper maintenance on your vehicle- needless to say I probably won’t be going back.Odds are I will go to an actual Chevy dealership to do it in the future, and I will need to waste time at the dealership to diagnose whatever issue was caused by Valvoline’s suspect service.

Good location, Ive had issues with Valvoline in the past but service is great here.

Had an awesome experience. The ladies were super nice. I have a pretty low car and most people turn me away with just a phone call asking if they take lowered cars. They took the time to make sure Id clear their lane and they took great care of me, and my car. Valvoline has definitely gained a customer.

Horrible expierence at this location. Went in 10 minutes before close (I understand very close to close) I needed air in 1 TIRE. Not an oil change, 1 tire filled with air. I have spent hundreds of dollars at valvoline locations including this one since it is located closest to my home. I have always been told before I leave to stop back if I need anything at all INCLUDING FREE AIR IN TIRES. I was asked 5 times if I really showed up for air. Was given dirty looks by both employees working. Will reconsider where I take my buisness.

My son had his oil changed here. Now Im trying to get the filter off and Ive even broken a oil wrench trying to get it off. Its too tight a space to drive a screwdriver through so I have to take it to a shop. Id love to take it back to have them fix it but Im not driving here from Wisconsin to do it.

These guys screw up my daughters air filter cover (2000 Saturn L-Series) EVERY *SINGLE* --TIME--- she gets her oil changed. Gang, if you dont know what youre doing, stick to removing the oil plug, replacing the oil filter, draining the oil, *measuring* the new oil, and putting the plug back. Dont jack around with things you dont understand.

This place was a joke. It was -22° outside and I was having problems with my pickup & was 3 hours from home. My husband called them and arranged for them to service my pickup as the fuel filters were clogged up. Even asked them if they had the correct ones for an F350. After working very hard with a stalling pickup to get it across town, we were informed they dont change fuel filters. Extremely disappointing! He ended up going to the parts store and buying tools and parts to do it himself, in the miserable cold, in clothes we wore to a wedding.

I respect the workers because they know more then me. They’re speed was ok but they preferred to talk more then work on my car. They also didn’t know how to change my headlight, which I find odd sense it’s a service they provide. Over all they cleaned my engine and changed my oil. But I don’t plan on going back.

The only place I take my Jeep.. great service..fast turn around times.. and great employees who actually will carry out a conversation with you. :-)

I used to schedule oil changes for my old beat up car. Now I just go here! Wait is maybe 10min but usually get in. They keep my car running and get all the tires&fluids up to par. Yes, its not THE cheapest place out there vs walmart-but worth it in convenience &service. Ive waited 2hrs at Walmart for service..these guys let u know if something real bad is going on in ur car. u look online there are coupons. Great ppl great place!

Do not use this place. They “forgot” to attach a hose back when they changed my oil and checked my air filter. Within 1 mile of leaving my check engine light came on so I turned around and they “fixed” the issue only to have it come on 5 miles later. When I went back the 2nd time they said “this is nothing we did”. Yes it is their fault as the error from the diagnostic test was from their air filter. I do not recommend

Please pay attention to this review! I know this area very well and sadly short cuts are taking place and things need to be done right the first time. I been there several times having several oil changes with other cars. I notice a leak of oil on my drive way and I had a friend who knows cars and helped me fix the problem. OIL FILTER wasnt tighten and a bolt was loose. Sadly just that little mistake could have cost me an engine or be stuck on the side of the road since I do have another person driving the car. I will not recommend them in the future and I will start to work on my cars from now on.

Well things were going smoothly, I thought. They wanted me to do the credit card thing. I walked by my car, which was was running and thought it sounded weird. I kept looking at it and mentioned that it sounded different. One of the techs removed the oil fill cap and said he was going to top the oil off because the dip stick showed low. Yes, they were running my car with NO OIL!!! I would say it had run about 5 minutes with no oil. Unbelievable. They apologized and knocked 20 bucks off. The car seems to run OK but I took names and signatures from the person in charge. I wanted to talk to the owner but he wasnt there. I would not recommend this business to my worst enemy. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Went in for an oil change. The tech dents my door on the corner of a tool box and just says oops. I asked if hes going to do something about the clearly visible dent and he says nothing I can do. A free oil change would have sufficed. Ill never go there again. He didnt even apologize!

Ok oil change service, there was a car already being serviced ahead of me but they informed me of this and finished up with the first car and got me into the service bay as quickly as possible. Did try to pressure me with other services like wind sheild wipers and cabin filters even though I had just replaced them. On their check list they said they checked my oil gasket but I know it was leaking and mentioned that to them but they still never replaced it. They either accidentally or purposely misread my mileage and gave me an oil change sticker to come back in only 2000 miles. 1 thats way too earlier on even older cars, but my car is newer and is rated for oil changes every 7500 miles. Most places can see this and update their stickers accordingly. Never going back.

Fast and efficient....

Went to Valvoline today, got the mid-level oil change. Staff was friendly, informative and very efficient. They werent very busy when I got there - there was no wait and I was in and out in probably about 15-20 minutes.

This was the most I’ve ever paid for an oil change and as far as I’m concerned it wasn’t worth it. $75 for what? A new filter and some clean oil. Insane. Call me cheap, but that’s just nuts. Robbing people for the sake of the name.

Friendly and fastUpdate: Somewhat tired of the attempted upselling here. For anyone wondering, if you live in the city you need a new air filter every 3 years. They try and sell me a new one every other month here. Most of their suggestions are scams.

0 stars.... They incorrectly installed my drain plug after an oil change and it ended up losing all the oil and ruining my motor about 20 miles down the road. Then the supervisor told me they messed up and would get me taken care of but when they turned it into insurance they denied fault and said they didnt do anything wrong. They are very dishonest and I will never take any of my vehicles here ever again.
